HANGMAN’S CHAIR Release Brand New Single ‘In Disguise’

Ahead of their next studio album, Saddiction, due on 14th February 2025 via Nuclear Blast, French doom metal pioneers HANGMAN´S CHAIR are back with their new single ‘In Disguise‘. A haunting, slow-burning shoegaze doom track that drifts through layers of sorrowful distortion. Its mournful lyrics unravel the weight of depression, echoing the isolation and darkness that consumes the soul.

HANGMAN’S CHAIR comments about ‘In Disguise‘: “Wheather, debts, long time since failure, low motivational level, feeling of a need to take action… already depressed? January 20th, more commonly known as “Blue Monday”, what a perfect day to release our third single “In Disguise”. A last fix before the launching of SADDICTION on Valentine’s day. Enjoy!”

About Saddiction: “SADDICTION is the contraction of 2 words, sadness and addiction. It means the addiction to sadness. 7th effort of the band, for us, Saddiction is the second album of the new trilogy started with A Loner back in 2022 and it’s the logical continuity. Keeping up with the cold, massively reverbed and chorused atmosphere but now mixed with what Hangman’s Chair has been known for, the heaviness and the low tuned sound, thanks to the magical sound engineer Francis Caste, once again. Valnoir of Metastazis designed the cover and resumed what the identity of Hangman’s Chair is all about in its purest form, concrete, pavement, bleakness and ultra modern solitude of the Parisian « banlieue ». Now, please don’t blame us for your saddiction. It has always been here. In your hearts, February 14th 2025.”

In reaction to the devastating situation that Los Angeles has been experiencing with the wildfires, the Get Together Foundation in cooperation with Rock Cellar Productions is making a difference. Plans are set for a fire relief concert that will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, starting at 6:00PM at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, CA. LA-based musicians will unite for the “SHOW OF HELPING HANDS” –an evening of live music and more in support of this worthy cause. Hosted by LA’s own Rita Wilde, the line-up will include: Micky Dolenz, Laurence Juber (Wings) & AIRFOIL, Jeff Alan Ross (Peter Asher, The Lovin’ Spoonful), Carl Verheyen Band, Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones), Rob Morrow, Rosemary Butler, Steve Postell (The Immediate Family), Phil LoPresti (Billy Gibbons), Alisan Porter (winner of The Voice), Freebo & Alice Howe, Carly Smithson (American Idol), The Delgado Brothers, Kevin Cardasco, John Pratt, and The Tribe, with more to be announced.

This is the perfect opportunity for Angelinos to come together and help each other in this extreme time of need. 100% of the proceeds raised will go to the cause.

Donations will benefit the Guitar Center Music Foundation, to help replace musical instruments lost in the fires, the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association, and other such organizations that will put the money to immediate use.

“Since the beginning, my wife Mare and I have always been inspired by the 60s ideals of peace, togetherness, and love to help solve contemporary problems such as systematic homelessness. We have developed a unique way to unite music-lovers and social do-gooders in service of worthy causes, with the common goal of bringing about change. We are an action-based organization making a difference” –Kevin Wachs, Co-Founder

The Get Together Foundation is an LA-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to action since 2001. GTF has a significant history producing benefit concerts for various causes including a live streamed telethon for COVID 19 crisis relief in 2020 (for the LA Mayor’s Fund) and a Concert for Ukraine in 2023. Their valued partnerships, which include Hope the Mission, The Midnight Mission,
and other such agencies, help provide a greater continuum of care to the community.

STEELCITY Share Official Music Video ‘No Angel’

US hard rockers SteelCity are pleased to share the official video of “No Angel”, taken from their latest studio album, “Reverence”, released on September 20th, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Bassist Jason Cornwell describes the track as “vibrant and bold, with a melody that inspires and uplifts.”

This is Hard Rock music that truly mesmerizes the listener: brash yet sophisticated, unapologetic yet still heartwarming. SteelCity provides an unabashed homage to the Golden Age of Hard Rock.

Initially started as a solo project by founding member, principal songwriter, and guitarist Mike Floros, SteelCity evolved into the band that it is today. Their influences include such Melodic and Hard Rock heavyweights as Kiss, Europe, and Winger. The name SteelCity is derived from the hard-working, blue-collar, Mid-Western town of Youngstown, Ohio.

By carefully assembling the most skilled, talented rock musicians available, Mike molded a band that became a vaunted force in the melodic hard rock underground. Enter Roy Cathey, lead vocalist extraordinaire. As a member of the early-90s sensation Cold Sweat, his Herculean voice has been appreciated by audiences worldwide.

Holding down the bottom end is Jason Cornwell, an experienced studio and touring musician, “The Boston Bassman” has shared the stage with such luminaries as Eric Martin. Skilled drummer Anthony White, also of Cold Sweat fame, completes the rhythm section.

Rounding out the group is Tony Stahl, whose keyboards bring texture and depth to SteelCity’s songs, thus completing the shape of their sound.

SteelCity released their debut album “Fortress” in 2018, followed by 2019’s “Mach II” and now the band deliver their most complete album, “Reverence”.

SteelCity have brought their guitar-driven, Arena Rock sound to live audiences by extensively touring across the USA, and they have also appeared as special guests on the Monsters of Rock Cruise in 2020.

NACHTBLUT Unveil Second Single + Official Music Video ‘Stirb Langsam’

German dark metal masters NACHTBLUT have released the energetic “Stirb Langsam” [Eng: Die slowly] today, taken from their upcoming seventh studio album Todschick [Eng: Dead chic], which will be released on February 21, 2025 via Napalm Records.

At first glance, “Stirb Langsam” may seem like an exuberant party anthem and an ode to alcohol, but it quickly reveals itself as a sharp social critique of excessive drinking and binge culture. Despite its profound message, the track’s driving rhythm, catchy chorus, and, not least, Askeroth’s distinctive vocals make it irresistibly engaging. The single is accompanied by an impressive music video that perfectly captures and enhances the song’s atmosphere.

NACHTBLUT on their new single “Stirb Langsam”:
“The most intellectual drinking song the world has ever heard, with poetic forays into the masterpieces of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. And, of course, in true NACHTBLUT fashion, behind the apparent drunkenness lies a razor-sharp message … Because ‘Stirb Langsam’ is far more than just a drinking song – it only disguises itself as one.”

Following their successful album Vanitas (2020), which reached number 19 in the official German album charts, the quartet is expanding its sound with a multi-faceted mix of stylistic elements and synthesizer sounds that pay homage to the 80s, among other things. Produced by Chris Harms (Lord of the Lost), the album will also be released as an exclusive wooden box set with a bonus CD containing seven additional tracks and exciting collaborations with scene greats.

The melancholic track “Das Leben der Anderen” criticizes modern societal ills like doom-scrolling through social media, overlaying the seemingly perfect lives of others with guttural screams. Meanwhile, the dark, new-wave-synth track “Manchmal kommen sie wieder” explores the eternal cycles of creation, destruction and war. Tracks like “Kinder des Zorns” invite headbanging with especially hard riffs and tempo. With “Schneller als der Tod,” the band ventures into entirely new musical territory, seamlessly merging epic wild west elements with the powerful sounds of dark metal. Energetic melodies blend perfectly with Askeroth’s characteristic vocals, creating a unique atmosphere that brings the album to a striking conclusion, offering an unexpected musical twist.

With Todschick, NACHTBLUT not only masterfully enriches dark metal with captivating, genre-spanning sounds that set new accents, but also addresses contemporary societal issues, striking a chord with the times. This new masterpiece is an invitation to view the dark beauty of life and its challenges in a new light, and to join the band on their 2025 headline tour to experience it live!

NACHTBLUT on the new album:
“Todschick is an album where death sets the rhythm, a musical blood kiss, in which the line between fiction and reality fades with every note.”

HORRID HUMAN CONDITION Sign with Time To Kill Records, Debut Album Coming Up

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 21, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: HORRID HUMAN CONDITION. Leave a comment

Time To Kill Records is thrilled to announce the addition of Italian crust / grindcore squad HORRID HUMAN CONDITION to its roster.

Formed in the summer of 2022, the band emerged when Alessandro (vocals), Claudio (guitar), and Marino (bass) joined forces with Carlo (drums). Drawing from their parallel experiences in projects like laCasta and Nigredo, their synergy was undeniable. Within months, the band had written 14 powerful tracks, debuted live in March 2023, and recorded their material by December of the same year.

The name HORRID HUMAN CONDITION reflects the band’s visceral critique of modern society. Their music captures the existential and social despair of a world where systems designed to govern and sustain instead serve the wealthy and powerful—leaving the majority to bear the consequences. Themes of disillusionment with money, religion, morals, and politics dominate their lyrical landscape, exposing these as mere instruments of control.

Musically, the band channels this intense message through a raw fusion of crust punk and grindcore, genres perfectly suited to convey feelings of chaos and urgency. Expect a sonic assault of sharp, high-pitched guitars, sludgy, acidic basslines, machine-gun-like drumming, and vocals that scream with desperate energy. Their live performances are a cathartic and visceral experience, where the band forges an unbreakable bond with their audience.

With a debut full of fury and conviction, HORRID HUMAN CONDITION is poised to leave their mark on the extreme music scene. Time To Kill Records is proud to support their vision and looks forward to bringing their raw energy to a wider audience.

Stay tuned for new music and more updates on the band’s upcoming debut album.
