GIGANTOPHIS Releases New Single ‘Del C​á​liz Luciferino’

After a few glorious years of black metal, a project reached its power and forgot itself untill fall in oblivion. Here is the fertile soil to be born GIGANTOPHIS as one man band and roll out an arsenal of satanic inspiration rooted in old school essence.

With several resources at hand, the equipment and its qualities were propitious for the projected production and its dyes. With microphones manufactured in the 90’, a Pearl drum set and a Fender Squier guitar a home studio was established and several tricks more to dull and darken the sound.

Two years after the demo release, GIGANTOPHIS unveiled his brand new song “Del c​á​liz Luciferino” (eng. From the Luciferian chalice).

Cover artwork was done by  Executor. Graphic artwork is inspired by rustic elements and the secret powers revealed for Lucifer. Song was released October 9, 2024 on popular streaming platforms (e.g. Bandcamp | Soundcloud | Spotify).

Leader of the project comments: “This musical piece is done to strengthen identity of Gigantophis. Second work inspired on some several sound bands, and if we speak about scence, simply is a pray to satan for its pain treasures and mortal loneliness, path to enslave God“.

SERPENT FIRE Unleash Aggressive Debut EP “Pathways”

Finnish melodic death metal band Serpent Fire has released their aggressive debut three-track EP “Pathways”.

The story of Serpent Fire began in 2022 when Jukka Piironen started after a long hiatus making new music again. He allready knew Jukka Mursu (Gorem, Vinnfrost, Nex Locus) and together they started studio project. Soon they had songs coming very rapidly and decided to record an EP with other players. Along came guitarist J.K Hel (ex- Man Eating Tree, Corpset), keyboard player Marco Sneck (Poisonblack, Chamelion) and Pete Karjalainen (Gorem) on the drums.

The result is melodic death metal in it`s most melodic and aggressive form and you can hear the coldness and melancholy of Northern Finland in every note! Main songwriters Jukka Piironen and Jami Heikkala have already sharpened their writing pen again and new songs are on their way.

SÖLID WAZTE Pay Tribute to Mr Lemmy Kilmister with New Single ‘Even Gods Fall’

Hailing from Itä-Rantakylä and founded in 2010, SÖLID WAZTE releases new material after a long break. The single called Even Gods Fall is a tribute to Lemmy Kilmister, who died in 2015.

Arg: – I wrote the song a couple of weeks after Lemmy passed away because I felt I had to pay homage to this man, whose life and deeds have had such an impact not only on our music but on a whole genre.

The song is also a hat tip to the original lineup of Motörhead. A keen ear can even find small nuances typical to ”Fast” Eddie Clarke and Phil ”Philthy Animal” Taylor.

Arg: – Originally we were going to release this song already in 2017, but then life got in the way. Now, after burnouts and other health problems, several rounds of covid and all that kind of shit, this masterpiece will finally be out. And it is only 2024!

Like the debut album, this song is mixed and mastered by Pekka Kupiainen, who is better known as the mixing engineer working with Michael Monroe.

Solid Waste (Sölid Wazte since 2024) was formed in 2010 when drummer Kire had waited long enough for his old friends Arg and Jukka to move to Helsinki. With similar musical backgrounds and over a several pints of white russians band soon started to work with material written earlier by Arg. With another friend Juha on bass first demos were recorded. Solid Waste’s current line-up was complete when Arska joined on bass guitar. Solid Waste’s musical goal was clear from day one: straightforward no-nonsense rock’n’roll with sing-a-long choruses. And this is what you get when you put Motörhead, Misfits, Ramones and Social Distortion in a blender. Solid Waste’s self-titled debut album was released in May 2016. To keep the raw live-like feeling, the basic tracks were recorded live with vocals and some other krumelurer added later. In 2017 the band entered the studio hoping for a new release, and now in 2024 we will be able to enjoy the new material. No panik no titanik.

Pop Punkers BABY AND THE NOBODIES Release First Single ‘Bombs Away’ from Upcoming Album

Seattle has a storied musical history.  From the arena rock bombast of the Wilson sisters and Heart to the birthplace of grunge and leading alternative label Sub Pop Records.  The city is also the birthplace of snot nosed punk rockers BABY AND THE NOBODIES, who have just released “Bombs Away,” the first single from their forthcoming Ready or Not album, due in early 2025 through F-Bomb Records.

BABY AND THE NOBODIES have delivered the perfect album to get you off your ass and up to the bar to kick off the New Year correctly. Finding the mental midway point between and and  tipsy then sloshed and ready to thrown down on a moment’s notice, Ready or Not is eight solid tracks of pure melodic mayhem. 

Entering Seattle’s legendary London Bridge Studio  –  home to records by the likes of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone and Queensryche, just to name a few – and helmed by Jonathan Plum (Alice in Chains, Ann Wilson, Candlebox and more), the quintet, although endearingly rough around the edges, aimed for sonic perfection … and achieved it. Collectively, the band says, “Jonathan is great to work with, he puts up with Rev and Rebecca’s creative differences and brings both of their ideas to the table. He’s great at listening and understanding where an artist is coming from while still giving his creative input. “, “Jonathan has a way of taking the music, polishing it, skuffing it up and polishing it again, He Gets It.”

About the song, guitarist Rev James says, “”Bombs Away” is about a failing relationship that neither is willing to walk away from, both parties are putting everything they have into it and it still just doesn’t work.  This was actually one of the easiest songs on the album to record, it just came out naturally.  I think Dana got the drums in one or two takes, the bass and basic guitar were laid down at the same time, I think we even kept some of the scratch vocal track from the live recordings. Everyone knew the parts and it flowed easily onto tape.”

ENVY OF NONE Release New Single + Video ‘Not Dead Yet’

With an unyielding spirit and defiant energy, “Not Dead Yet” is the latest offering from Envy of None, scheduled for release on Halloween. Featuring the masterful musicianship of Rush’s Alex Lifeson (guitars), Coney Hatch’s Andy Curran (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Alf Annibalini (guitar, keyboards), and Randy Cooke (drums), with the ever-compelling Maiah Wynne delivering lead vocals, Envy of None conjure a unique blend of classic, progressive rock and modern, vibrant textures. 
 
Speaking on the song’s meaning, Maiah, who penned the lyrics, shared that it was inspired by Andy’s raw chorus line: “I’m not dead yet, come on along and see what I am good for.” She describes the track as a cathartic anthem, one that embodies resilience and defiance against the forces that aim to tear us down. “Simply continuing to exist, to create, and to fight is inspiring and powerful. “You have to continue to exist, to create, and to fight. That’s the heart of the song: keep going and enjoy the ride.” The single is accompanied by a video inspired by the Mexican Dia De Los Muertos ‘Day of the Dead’ holiday, produced by Mariano Biotico.

Ahead of its official release this coming Monday on the menacing Nuclear Winter roster,  Mystification  today presents an exclusive stream of “Visions from the Necrorealm”, the sinister debut EP from Costa Rican death metal act NECROFERUM.

In the heart of the Central American jungle, where shadows crawl and ancient secrets linger, NECROFERUM awakens. Born from spectral fumes and steeped in malevolence, it embodies the rotting essence of a darkness that knows no bounds. As the putrid miasma rises, it unleashes a relentless force, merciless and unforgiving, drawn from the deepest depths of evil.

NECROFERUM was established in 2023 by Juan Salas and Justin Sanchez, both of Mortual, in their pursuit of a heavier and more punishing sound. The line-up was completed with the addition of drummer Juan José Fernandez, who introduced bassist Kevin Venegas to the group. Based in San José, Costa Rica, NECROFERUM is dedicated to conjuring the sepulchral sound of spectral mists.
