March 07, 2025 will see Béthune/France-based heavy rockers OVERDRIVERS release their hotly-anticipated, new studio offering, entitled “Glory Or Nothing”! The band’s third full-length album will be released through ROAR, and the pre-sale has just started at this location: https://overdrivers.rpm.link/glory

Their first single, the tongue-in-cheek sleeze hard rocker, “Guitar Playboy”, is streaming now on all digital services at https://overdrivers.rpm.link/guitar, a music video is premiering below! The band describes the track “with a guitar, even the ‘ugly’ have charm! ‘Guitar Playboy’ slams hard with a relentless rhythm!”

Since 2015, OVERDRIVERS has been tearing through the Northern Lands like a runaway freight train. Born from nowhere and fueled by pure rock rebellion, these four hard-hitting rockers bring the kind of thunder only cranked-up Marshall amps can deliver. With their amps on blast, they claimed every stage in their path, quickly earning a reputation for leaving chaos — and converted fans—behind them.

Once they’d conquered every inch of their homeland, the band set their sights on broader horizons, unleashing their electric storm on Spain and beyond. With relentless, high-voltage shows, OVERDRIVERS brought their raw, headbanging energy to rock lovers everywhere, proving that in the face of their All-Powerful Rock’N’Roll, resistance is futile.

Armed with three explosive releases—Rockin’ Hell (2016), She’s On Her Period (2018), and the Rock Out! EP—the band rallied thousands of followers and forged an unbreakable army of die-hard fans. Now, OVERDRIVERS prepares to release their most powerful weapon yet: “Glory Or Nothing”. This new album is set to drop like a bombshell, reigniting their worldwide crusade and solidifying their place as a force in modern rock. Brace yourself and get ready to rock. OVERDRIVERS is coming — louder, fiercer, and more unstoppable than ever!

OCTOPLOID Drop ‘Coast Of The Drowned Sailors lyric video (Feat. Tomi Koivusaari) & Announce New Shows to First Headline Tour

OCTOPLOID, fronted by bassist Olli-Pekka “Oppu” Laine (known for his work with AMORPHIS, BARREN EARTH, and MANNHAI), are wrapping up an eventful 2024 with the release of a brand-new lyric video for ‘Coast Of The Drowned Sailors.’ This year marked the release of their highly praised debut album, “Beyond The Aeons” (July 5, 2024 via RPM), as well as their first live performance.

Taken from the album featuring an impressive roster of prestigious guest musicians, ‘Coast Of The Drowned Sailors’ highlights vocals by none other than Laine‘s AMORPHIS bandmate, Tomi Koivusaari. Known for his iconic growls, Koivusaari lends his signature style to the track, creating a direct connection between OCTOPLOID and Laine‘s early musical roots. Complementing Koivusaari‘s leads, Jani “Joãnitor” Muurinen (XYSMA, ex-MANNHAI) contributes mellow clean vocals, adding depth and contrast. The album’s persistent psychedelic theme resonates throughout ‘Coast Of The Drowned Sailors,’ making it not only a fan favourite but also a perfect introduction for listeners new to the band’s 70s-inspired death prog metal sound.

Oppu states: “‘Coast Of The Drowned Sailors’ is a conscious nod to the 90s, and the only possible interpreter for it was Mr. Tomi Koivusaari. The track marries the essence of original melodic death metal with elements of slide and acoustic guitar characteristic of southern rock ballads. Also featured is Jani “Joãnitor” Muurinen, the legendary vocalist from the band XYSMA, who delivers the more hopeful part of the lyrics. Overall, ‘Sailors’ is an unapologetically old-school melodic death metal track executed with a modern touch!”

Following the recent announcement of their “Beyond The Aeons” tour, OCTOPLOID are excited to add six new dates to their 2025 schedule. About OCTOPLOID

OCTOPLOID
, the solo project of Olli-Pekka Laine (bassist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist, known for his work with AMORPHIS, BARREN EARTH, and MANNHAI), was established in 2022. This venture has culminated in “Beyond The Aeons,” the act’s debut album which was released on July 5, 2024 through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). OCTOPLOID‘s music merges elements of 90s death/black metal, 70s prog rock, and 90s psychedelic rock, carving a distinct niche in the music landscape. The sound of OCTOPLOID has aptly been described as “classic death prog.”

The band’s line-up is built around Laine and features three talented musicians. Mikko Pietinen, a versatile drummer with experience ranging from stoner rock with MANNHAI to Finnish mainstream pop rock (including bands like KASMIR), and Peter Salonen, a lead/rhythm guitarist known for his work with THE KINKY THING — a band that performs covers of Finnish psych rock legends KINGSTON WALL — is relatively new to the scene. The group is completed by keyboardist Kim Rantala (GIANT ROBOT, formerly of AMORPHIS).

In collaboration with Bloodstock Open Air, Ukrainian melodic metal band Ignea have just released the full set of their Bloodstock Open Air Festival show, recorded on 10th August, 2024.

his set was performed in front of thousands of roaring metalheads, solidifying Ignea’s place among metal legends. Their Bloodstock Open Air debut is a testament to their growing influence and worldwide acclaim.

Performing on one of the world’s most iconic metal festival stages, Ignea proved they are a force to be reckoned with. From captivating storytelling to anthemic soundscapes, this performance showcases their rise as one of the most innovative bands in the modern metal scene.

In previous news, Ignea have taken their first step into the world of video games with a groundbreaking debut in the highly anticipated game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Developed by Kyiv-based GSC Game World, the game intertwines Ukrainian culture, history, and artistry.

Ignea comment: “From the very beginning, people told us our music felt like it belonged in video games, and we’ve always dreamed of making that a reality. To have our songs featured in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, a project born from the resilience and creativity of Ukrainian developers, is a profound honor. This game isn’t just entertainment—it’s a cultural milestone and a symbol of Ukraine’s strength. We’re incredibly proud to contribute our sound to such a powerful, historic Ukrainian creation.”

With over one million copies sold within 48 hours of release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 stands as both a gaming triumph and a cultural milestone, amplifying Ukrainian voices on a global stage. Through their music, Ignea contribute to this legacy, blending the power of metal with the enduring spirit of their homeland.

Ignea is a Ukrainian melodic metal band that mixes heavy riffs with symphonic, electronic, and folk elements, creating a powerful OST-like experience. Every release is backed by heavy story-telling, making their art more than just music.

In the beginning of their career, Ignea was the first Ukrainian metal band to release an original song with the full symphonic orchestra ‘Alga’, a hymn named after the battle cry of Crimean Tatars who are defending their land, released after the Crimea annexation. The video for the song now counts nearly 10 million views.

According to the national awards The Best Ukrainian Metal Act, the band’s second album The Realms of Fire and Death has been selected as the metal album of the year and Ignea has been named the best Ukrainian metal band of 2020. This album has been fully funded by the band’s patrons at the Patreon platform.

After touring Europe several times, and releasing 2 LPs and 2 EPs independently, Ignea won quite a big support from fans from all over the world and ended up signing with one of the biggest metal labels, Napalm Records.

Despite the full-scale war, the band managed to release a full-length album in 2023 dedicated to the Ukrainian travel writer and photographer Sofia Yablonska, play multiple charity shows in Ukraine, and embark on a EU/UK tour with the legendary Fear Factory, playing 43 shows within 2 months.

Ignea also proudly serves as cultural ambassadors for Ukraine, diligently raising awareness about the country’s ongoing situation among their international fanbase. Their recent performance at ESNS, Europe’s biggest showcase festival, further solidifies their status, alongside appearances at Wacken, Summer Breeze, Bloodstock, Leyendas del Rock, and selected club shows this summer as they lend their support to the esteemed Cradle of Filth and Epica.

Finnish progressive metal band Rioghan is set to release the second studio album ‘Kept’ on February 14th 2025 via Inverse Records. The third single ‘Distance’ is released today and it’s available on all essential streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/rioghan-distance

Rioghan comments:

” ‘Distance’ paints a soul wrenching story of misplaced trust. You are invited to enter a dream, where eventually things are not what they seem and it ominously turns into a nightmare. Music-wise this song was written with Vikram Shankar, where we experimented with dark pop elements and huge contrasts, and made the softness turn seamlessly to a destructive force.

  • Composed by Vikram Shankar & Jenni Perämäki
  • Lyrics by Jenni Perämäki
  • Arranged by Teemu Liekkala,Tero Luukkonen, Antti Varjanne, Valtteri Revonkorpi
  • ISRC: FI3FC2550105

About the Wheel-tour:
Now when the tour is over, we were left with yearning back to the stages. The shows really were the highlight of this year, and also the people from Wheel were so friendly and welcoming toward us – like their fans too! We couldn’t have had a better crew to try out our first tour. Hope there’ll be much more to come!”

  • The music video of first single ‘Edge’ can be seen here: https://youtu.be/SYz0locEGn4
  • The music video of second single ‘Hands’ available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_-4BO6FTB8

Rioghan is a fresh breeze to progressive metal scene from Finland. The band consists of singer Rioghan Darcy, guitarists Teemu Liekkala and Tero Luukkonen, bassist Antti Varjanne and drummer Valtteri Revonkorpi.

Their debut album ‘Different Kinds Of Losses’ was made in collaboration with Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Einar Solberg (Leprous) and Teemu Koskela (ex-Celesty), and it was rolled out during 2022 sparking interest widely. The singles got airtime in Finland and also internationally, and after the album release in December, Rioghan’s monthly listeners on Spotify peaked at 40 000. The songs also got into multiple Spotify editorial playlists.

Live line-up was put into action in 2023, and this autumn Rioghan returned to stages supporting Wheel on their Charismatic Leaders -tour, bringing their stellar show to Tampere, Kuopio, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Lahti, and Oulu. Fans’ welcome was spectacular, and their energetic show brought a lot of new fans too.

Rioghan started out as a solo project by singer and poetess Rioghan Darcy, based in Lapua, Finland. After years of writing poetry and lyrics, Rioghan was founded in 2019 with an intention to fleshen up some of her words with music. After a while, it grew into a trio with Teemu Liekkala (guitars, bass, keys, production) and Valtteri Revonkorpi (drums) added as permanent stars for the band, and in 2024 guitarist Tero Luukkonen and bassist Antti Varjanne also officially joined the band from live line-up. Rooted deeply in both gothic and progressive metal scenes, they sure should bring something interesting on the table.

Line-up:
Rioghan Darcy – vocals
Teemu Liekkala – guitar
Tero Luukkonen – guitar
Antti Varjanne – bass
Valtteri Revonkorpi – drums

THE ODDEVEN Drop New ‘Come Home’ Power Ballad Music Video & Single + Announce New Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on December 12, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: The OddEven. Leave a comment

The OddEven are an Alternative Metal Post Grunge band known for riff-oriented hard rock with a massive groove and hypnotic kick that will spin you around on your barstool and get you to your feet in a jam-packed arena. The band just premiered a new music video for their arena-worthy power ballad entitled “Come Home“; the first single & music video taken from their upcoming full-length album Outer Space Outtakes which will be released on March 14, 2025 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Weed and E.T., alongside Frank Marchand (Fiona Apple, Nils Lofgren) at Waterford Digital, and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Monster Magnet, Fleetwood Mac) at West West Side Music.

“The video for Come Home is about a woman making her way back home after straying/breaking up”, says bass guitarist Jon Weed. “While the guy may think getting back together with her is a move toward happiness again, she is the devil in disguise. This is the first single we released with aggressive alternative/hard rock, power ballad sensibility. The message to fans is to always be careful going back to something that was toxic in the past, because there is a very good chance that the second time around will be worse than the first… Unless you are prepared to dance with the devil, you should run the other way as quickly as possible!”

Outer Space Outtakes, the sensational new album by the alternative metal post grunge band, The OddEven, is a groove-centered guitar party that brings us deep into the fold of the unknown, getting twisted and high, raucous and rebellious, as if the sky was suddenly filled with dark spirits from other worlds dancing in the afterimage of our own flashing shadows. Lyrically, The OddEven delves into fantastic alien encounters as much as the paradoxical truths about complex relationships. Altogether, the album covers a broad spectrum of imagination and emotion, all thematically tied to the idea that we must set ourselves free of the chains of toxicity. Outer Space Outtakes is a journey that forges its own fantastical path along the road of reality that twists and turns beneath a scatter of stars. The first focus track, “Come Home,” is about hope and recollection, as the second single, “First Encounter,” is a glorious guitar-fest made for space junkies, metal heads, rockers, and goths. The third exceptional focus track is titled “Innocent,” and it mesmerizes us like sirens of the sea and witches in the wind. Altogether, Weed (bass) and E.T. (guitar) write songs that were made to make you get your groove on, featuring first, that bass sound that pounds like a thundering heartbeat pinning the meter. Jim Chaney (drums) plays in a way that is somehow both “heart-stopping metal” and “addictive funk-a-licious,” and Grant Walker (vocals) hits us with hypnotic harmonies that cast spells, end wars, spread love, and charm snakes. And E.T. plays that heavy rhythm guitar like a monster truck in a monastery and those wailing lead tracks that make us feel like we have rocket-jets under our heels and starlight blasting out of our eyes. The album was produced by Weed and E.T., alongside Frank Marchand (Fiona Apple, Nils Lofgren) at Waterford Digital, and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Monster Magnet, Fleetwood Mac) at West West Side Music. Outer Space Outtakes will be released on March 14, 2025 by Eclipse Records.
