CHEMICAL TRIBE Release Debut Single ‘Wasting Time’

A collective of well known musicians throughout the vibrant Las Vegas music scene have come together to form the quartet CHEMICAL TRIBE. The band has just released their debut single, “Wasting Time” which can be downloaded on Apple Music  and streamed on Spotify.

For CHEMICAL TRIBE, which is comprised of lead vocalist / guitarist, Dominick Muzio, guitarist Shawn Trojahn (both previously with critically acclaimed alt rock band Wicked Garden), bassist John Robinson (son of legendary drummer, JR Robinson of Michael Jackson, David Lee Roth, others) and sticksman Matt Norcross (ex-The Killers, Leaving Springfield), the decision to become a full time band was a no-brainer. “I called my friends to help me promote my ‘Candy at a Funeral’ record. We had a couple other members come and go due to scheduling issues, but the this lineup just clicked so well in every way. They added so much depth to my songs, I felt it was time to give them their own identity, instead of just being a backing band,” says Muzio.

The band recorded their first single “Wasting Time” at Las Vegas based Asteroid M Records, with engineer Cody Leavitt.

“Cody created such a great vibe. He let us just go in and play the song our way and let it come naturally,” Norcross said.  As for the song itself, fans who have been following the members of Chemical Tribe for years may notice a musical direction that they may not be known for. Says Shawn, “It’s got a pop-punk feel to it, and yet it’s still a hard rock song, it’s almost an undefinable genre.”

As the band’s catalogue grows past Muzio’s original recordings, the band intends to take a collaborative approach to new music, with plans for more singles to be released in 2025, with a possible full album on the horizon.

“Everyone has an amazing ear for a good melody in this band.” says bassist Robinson. ” We get in a room and start jamming and someone always has an idea that we can work on.”

The Black Metal Bus sightseeing with Anders Odden is back!

Join us on a tour of some of the places that marked the beginning of the legend of Norwegian black metal. Guide: Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost, Order). The myths about the early history of Norwegian black metal are many. Countless documentaries, films, and books have tried to find answers to what happened in Norway in the early ‘90s. Being able to visit the places where these events took place, with someone who was there, makes it a personal journey.

Through his record store, Helvete, and his band, Mayhem, Øystein Aarseth, aka Euronymous, became a key figure in the scene. He both inspired and promoted all the early bands in the Norwegian metal scene, such as Emperor, Darkthrone, Immortal, Burzum, and others. He was later killed by Varg Vikernes, aka Greven, the notorious leader of Burzum, in his apartment on August 10, 1993, after a year of turmoil in the growing underground scene in Oslo and Bergen.

This date marked the end of an era. The small scene, which had been unknown to the public until then, became infamous in the tabloid media and made headlines far beyond Norway.

Anders Odden formed his first black metal band, Slaught, in 1986 after attending a Mayhem rehearsal at the age of 14. He was one of the pioneers of the underground scene, which involved tape trading, organizing concerts, and creating his own form of extreme metal.

He formed Cadaver in 1988 and released the first Norwegian death metal album on Earache Records in 1990. Cadaver played concerts with Darkthrone, Mayhem, Old Funeral, and many other bands that would later become important in the early Norwegian black metal scene. This excursion will feature exclusive anecdotes and personal memories of the early days of the community from someone who experienced it firsthand.

Legendary New England Drummer HIRSH GARDNER to Release “Third Time’s A Charm” on November 22nd

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 22, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: HIRSH GARDNER. Leave a comment

In the late 70’s/early 80’s legendary drummer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Hirsh Gardner and his band New England dazzled record buyers and audiences alike with their own innovative mix of supreme AOR/Melodic Rock. Supporting KISS on the 1979 Dynasty Tour, New England’s first release ‘Don’t Ever Wanna Lose Ya’ broke into Billboard’s revered Top 40. Throughout the intervening years Hirsh has produced countless artists as well as achieving critical acclaim and rewards from his musical peers with `Producer of the Year` accolades along the way.

His new album Third Time’s A Charm, due out on November 22nd through Deko Entertainment, is split into 2 very different parts. Side one is all original material that builds on the ideas that Hirsh laid down on his previous solo releases and side two is brand new recordings of classic New England songs that brings the material kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Wait until you hear “Don’t Ever Wanna Lose Ya”, or “Holding out On Me” featuring all New England members as well as guests Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses) and Chris Laney (Pretty Maids).

Listen to Don’t Ever Wanna Lose Ya here: https://push.fm/ps/dewly

As Hirsh explains, “Third Time’s A Charm is a diverse mix of music, featuring a total of 12 songs. Half of these are original compositions, showcasing a wide range of my musical tastes from the raucous metal of Lover’s Lullaby, to melodic rock ballads like Miles Away and the extremely commercial Angel In The Sky which could easily be a Top 40 hit in today’s rock market. The other half consists of covers from New England’s catalog, paying homage to the band’s iconic legacy. Among the luminaries contributing to the album are Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Chris Laney, and Alan Sorensen from Pretty Maids, as well as Joe Feloni and David Sumner from my own band, The Hirsh Gardner Project.”

Co-producer and mixer Laney ads, “I have been a huge New England fan from the start and when I reached out to Hirsh I found not only the legend but also a friend. We started a co-lab on an old Warrior track and that went so great we wrote more songs. It all ended up with me helping out on the lion’s share of the album, playing and mixing. I am so proud over the result, and I hope my fellow NE fans will enjoy it as much as I do.”

Bumblefoot continues, “I’m a lifelong fan of Hirsh and his band New England, since seeing them open for KISS at Madison Square Garden in ’79. Imagine being 9 years old, it’s the first band you’re ever seeing at an arena show, and years later you’re playing guitar on the song you’re hearing…! I’m honored to have laid guitars on the song “Nothing To Fear,” you’ll hear it on his upcoming album, Nov 22nd release. Hirsh, I thank you, and that kid version of me you inspired at that show thanks you!”
