FIVE THE HIEROPHANT Stream New Album “Apeiron”, Out Today

UK-based, saxophone-driven, post black/doom/jazz quartet FIVE THE HIEROPHANT are streaming their new album “Apeiron”, out today, October 18th‘s released on Agonia Records.

FIVE THE HIEROPHANT continues to walk the winding path they’ve chosen for themselves in the beginning; further down towards within, and further out towards new horizons. Refusing to ascribe to a singular style, they blend elements of black/doom, psychedelic, ambient, experimental and jazz into one syncretic trip. “Apeiron” is a hypnotic, hallucinatory experience with heavy emphasis on the dark atmosphere, cinematic dreamscapes, and repetitive ritualistic trance-inducing sounds. The production,  without a doubt, is a step up from the previous installment, “Through Aureate Void”. The band keeps expanding the use of atypical instruments, such as: horns, trumpets, gongs, bells, violins, skull shakers, ritual drums and other tools, which help to capture the haunting spirit of the music.

Give it a spin, here:

Commented by FIVE THE HIEROPHANT: “After a few years of wait, and a lineup change, we are happy to present you our new album. We feel like it’s a very Five The Hierophant album, set within the specific sound  we managed to forge, but with a fair bit of new ideas, twists and turns. In our opinion its more trippy and hypnotic, but less monotonous than the previous work. Once again, this is an all instrumental work, without any samples or spoken word this time. The album is called «Apeiron», meaning boundless in Greek, which reflects the atmosphere of the record very well.”

“Apeiron” was recorded and mixed between summer and autumn 2023. It was engineered and mixed by Sam Thredder at Cro’s Nest in south London. Haldor Grungerg performed the mastering of the album at Satanic Audio (Azarath, Behemoth). The front cover contains a painting by Odd Nerdrum, used with kind permission.

Heavy act ACCVSED have unleashed their latest single, ‘Never Enough,’ via Arising Empire, signaling a bold evolution in their sound. This release highlights their most aggressive and unrelenting work to date, marking the start of a new era steeped in unmatched darkness and brutality.

Stream here: https://arisingempire.com/neverenough

“When I finally stop, there will be nothing left of us.”

Seen through the eyes of a late-stage capitalist, ‘Never Enough’ is a confession. It captures the relentless pursuit of more — where personal wealth is placed above the well-being of others, paving a path to inevitable annihilation. The protagonist, admired by some and loathed by the rest, continues to consume and exploit, driven by an insatiable greed that will not cease until everything in its way is destroyed.

Since their formation in 2021, ACCVSED have adhered to one principle: presenting themselves to the world authentically, without playing a role or sugarcoating their expressions. They channel their deepest traumas and fears into their music, creating a distinct and energetic blend of bold guitar riffs, unique vocals, and raw emotion. This combination shapes their sound into an unstoppable force.

Hailing from Wiesbaden, ACCVSED quickly realised that being a local band was not their ambition. They moved swiftly and made a significant impact on the music scene with their debut EP House of Doubt, released in December 2023. The breakthrough single ‘Currents’ led the six track EP, establishing a foundation for their constantly evolving musical style and garnering them worldwide attention. This success resulted in support shows and festival appearances throughout Germany.

Catch ACCVSED live:
26.10 Dresden – HD Rock Bar
27.10 Hannover – Bei Chez Heinz
31.10 Frankfurt – Ponyhof
01.11 Prag – Café V Lese
02.11 Stuttgart – Corefest
21.12 Essen – Curtain Call

ACCVSED are:
Tino Mehlig | Vocals
Valentin Noack | Guitar
Pascal Klebe | Bass
Christopher Lerner | Drums

In the heart of the Central American jungle, where shadows crawl and ancient secrets linger, NECROFERUM awakens. Born from spectral fumes and steeped in malevolence, it embodies the rotting essence of a darkness that knows no bounds. As the putrid miasma rises, it unleashes a relentless force, merciless and unforgiving, drawn from the deepest depths of evil.

NECROFERUM was established in 2023 by Juan Salas and Justin Sanchez, both of Mortual, in their pursuit of a heavier and more punishing sound. The line-up was completed with the addition of drummer Juan José Fernandez, who introduced bassist Kevin Venegas to the group. Based in San José, Costa Rica, NECROFERUM is dedicated to conjuring the sepulchral sound of spectral mists.

PSEUDODOXIA (Feat. Members of Feed Them Death + LaColpa) Release New Album “Se Solo Potessimo Cadere”, Out Now

Brucia Records is proud to present “Se Solo Potessimo Cadere”, the third release by Experimental / Dark Ambient duo PSEUDODOXIA. The album is now available on digital and a hand-numbered run of 4 panels digipak CDs limited to just 33 copies. Stream it on Bandcamp at THIS LOCATION.

“Se Solo Potessimo Cadere” is a terrifyingly dark album combining caustic, abrasive and insidious Drone Noise with Black Metal, Ambient, minimalistic soundscapes and improvisational music, brought to you by a collaboration between Davide Destro (LaColpa, Macabro Dio) and Void (Feed Them Death).

With “Se Solo Potessimo Cadere” (translated “If only we may fall”) PSEUDODOXIA deliver a refreshingly honest and unique approach to music and experimentation, combining the use and manipulation of analogue noise oscillators, synthesizers and acoustic drone with piano, guttural screams and hyper-distorted, dissonant guitars.

The fantastic artwork cover – a graphic adaptation of a grandiose original masterpiece by renowned painter Danilo Capua (“Il Diavolo: Arcano Maggiore”, oil on canvas, 2000), further expands upon the main theme of the album: the fall, as in the conscious abandonment to the ecstasy of finding oneself by losing oneself, and to the nobility of failure.

PSEUDODOXIA’s debut full length album is a bone-shattering nightmare, addictively dark and fiercely experimental. A truly disquieting and frightening listening experience.

FFO: Swans, Coil, Throbbing Gristle, middle Ulver on acid.

Tracklist:

1 Se solo potessimo cadere (3:54)
2 II : A Q V A (3:53)
3 I : T E R R A (5:11)
4 Come i fiori di ciliegio in Primavera (7:09)
5 III : A E R (5:16)
6 IV : I G N I S (4:28)
7 Così puri, così luminosi (5:08)

Credits:

Noise + some guitars: Davide Destro
Vocals, Bass, Keys + some guitars: Void

Lyrics on II : A Q V A by Feed Them Death
Lyrics on III : A E R by Grieving Sea (unreleased song)

Mastered by Giorgio Barroccu x Evokaos

Artwork and Layout by Evokaos (Brucia Records) are a graphic adaptation of an original painting by Danilo Capua, “Il Diavolo: Arcano Maggiore” (Oil on canvas, 50 x 70 cm, 2000)

PSEUDODOXIA is formed by Davide Destro (LaColpa / Macabro Dio) and Void (Feed Them Death), both in charge of manipulating all types of frequencies and playing all instruments and machines.

In 2021 they self-released the EP “SOL : C l a u s u m”, and later contributed to the “Teardrop” split together with The Sun and The Mirror.

“Se Solo Potessimo Cadere”, their first full length album, will be released on October 17, 2024 via Brucia Records.

TALIA HOIT Releases Brand New Video Single ‘Island of Hope’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on October 18, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: TALIA HOIT. Leave a comment

The dramatic soundscapes of Talia Hoit, which are overflowing with melancholic and musical heaviness, as well as pathos, address matters of the heart, and embody the exactly right balance between symphonic and metal. Soprano siren and symphonic sorceress Talia has always written poems and composed music as a way of processing all the things happening in her life. “Whatever experience whether good or bad, (…). I found that metaphors and poems were the only way I could really think about or talk about some things that were really emotional”, she sums up.

Talia’s newest music video for her captivating single Island of Hope is now available.

She wrote this song after the tragic loss of a friend, trying to imagine what she might have said to him in whatever dark moments he was sinking into. “But any words I could think of seemed too simple and weak. So I used the metaphor of drowning in the ocean of despair, but trying to find and hold onto the hope of the island oasis in the distance”, explains the artist. In the music video we see this theme reflected in the form of an implied back and forth between Talia and the clip’s protagonist, role-playing a what-if scenario with a potentially life-saving outcome, a shimmer of  the bright light of hope shining through the depths of emotional darkness, so to speak.
Talia chose a heavy style of music for her songs, artistically emphasizing the deep and emotional topics being addressed. But although this song is dealing with themes of darkness, sadness, and existential crisis, it is also very much about love and hope.

Listen to Island of Hope at https://orcd.co/islandofhope1

Island of Hope is the most recently written song from Talia’s upcoming album Oceans, which will be released November 21, 2024. She has been working with a lot of bands but Oceans is Talia’s first real album release as a solo artist.

The eagerly awaited album features ten atmospherically profound tracks, on which the emerging female symphonic metal vocalist is reaching masterful highs and depths, accompanied by the top-notch studio musicians Mat Plekhanov on guitar (DRAGONY), Roland Navratil on drums (ATROCITY, LEAVES EYES, EDENBRIDGE), and Max Stoner on bass and rhythm guitar. All songs on the album are produced by Frank Pitters (VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, DEEP SUN, EDENBRIDGE) and Talia Hoit, all written by her and all thematically connected to the nautical theme.

Tracklist for Oceans:
1. Castaway
2. Unanchored
3. Ocean
4. Beautiful
5. Stolen
6. Abyss
7. VastDeep
8. Island of Hope
9. Infinity
10. Significance

More about Talia Hoit

For Talia Hoit from Colorado, who has been classically trained to play the piano since the age of five, her early musical education has definitely paid off. Now she writes original songs, performs on vocals and keyboards, and composes orchestra scores for symphonic metal. For many years, she has also had a passion for writing songs outside of any formal band situation, and is now working with talented producers and musicians to bring her most personal and intimate songs to life to share with the world.
For five years, Talia was the keyboardist and a songwriter for the band AnaDies. Presently she is the lead singer, orchestrator and co-songwriter in the symphonic metal band BEYOND FORGIVENESS and the keyboardist for the metal band OB NIXILIS.
As a solo artist, she recorded two original home studio albums for personal purposes, Fate’s Too Small (2007) and A Little Longer (2012), which had a limited physical CD release only, mostly just for friends and family. Back in 2019, she recorded the single Angel (produced by Jarek Musil), which just recently received a new master, and after the experience of working with a professional producer she decided to pursue her solo project, to professionally produce and commercially release as many of the personal songs she had written over the years as possible. In 2023, she released two more singles: Abandon and Whispers in the Storm. Her extensive experience in the music industry and understanding of classical music are quite audibly reflected in these works, which show a high level of quality and expertise. Talia’s music is definitely a treat for symphonic metal fans and heavy music lovers, showing influences of bands such as WITHIN TEMPTATION, NIGHTWISH, EVANESCENCE, and VISIONS OF ATLANTIS.

Surf the web, hop on the metal waves, and get into the right mood, even before the new album release!
