INFERNO Premiere New Video for ‘With Raving Mouths They Utter Things Mirthless, Unadorned and Unperfumed’

“The Anthropic Sophisms“, the electrifying upcoming 9th full-length from Czech Black Metal pioneers INFERNO, is layered and compelling extreme music that breathes anew in nighttime hours. These are strange, viscous dimensions where deep space Black Metal, Industrial brutalism, malevolent motorik rhythms, crackling electronics and obscure vocals collide.

Faithful to the album aesthetics, the band now unveils an interdimensional epic as a visual counterpart to its third track: ‘With Raving Mouths They Utter Things Mirthless, Unadorned and Unperfumed‘.

As with first single ‘Circulus Vitiosus Deus‘, the accompanying video was created by artist Fabio Rincones (SELBST), who perfectly translates the conceptual essence of INFERNO‘s vision.

INFERNO vocalist Adramelech comments on the song and clip:

“What if reality is not singular, but just one of an infinite number of possible perspectives? In the multiverse, the world is not a fixed structure, but a shifting network of possibilities, where each universe represents a different configuration of the same deeper reality.“

Immerse yourself further in “The Anthropic Sophisms” via the video for first single ‘Circulus Vitiosus Deus‘: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inui0wUBcfw&list=RDinui0wUBcfw&start_radio=1

Follow the band on Facebook and Instagram for updates!

“The Anthropic Sophisms” will be released on CD, vinyl and digital on July 17th. A specially designed t-shirt and zip-hoodie accompanies the release. Pre-orders are possible via DMP’s EU, US and Bandcamp shops.

INFERNO came into existence 1995 in the Czech Republic, with first demo offerings “Peklo Na Zemi” (1996) and “Temná Poselství Dávných Předků” (1997) gaining significant acclaim in the Czech scene and beyond, opening many possibilities within the Black Metal underground.

Following a number of successful split releases, in the first decade of the new millennium INFERNO recorded two full-length albums of defiant and warlike Black Metal – “Duch slovanské síly” (2001) and “V návratu pohanství…” (2003) – the raw and ominous “Nikdy nepokřtěni” (2006) and concluded this period of rabid Black Metal traditionalism with “Uctívání temné zuřivosti” (2008) which merged old currents into a more refined offering, aggressive yet triumphantly melodic.

The release of pivotal album “Black Devotion” (2009) reshaped and regenerated the creative forces within the band. INFERNO subsequently entered Necromorbus Studio to create the cacophonic and malevolent “Omniabsence Filled By His Greatness” (2013) another step-up which imbued band-members with the will to transcend their previous self-imposed limitations.

In the following years, INFERNO performed on prominent stages around the world, securing a reputation for being a savage and mystical live act. Dedicated to self-transformation and unconscious dialogue with the great other, the monumental and idiosyncratic “Gnosis Kardias (Of Transcension and Involution)” (2017) helped redefine contemporary Black Metal Art.

In 2021, INFERNO unveiled their most transcendent and dynamic work to-date, “PARADEIGMA (Phosphenes Of Aphotic Eternity)“, through Debemur Morti Productions. In the ensuing years, the band carried this singular vision onto stages across the globe, refining its intensity in the live realm while restlessly shaping new material in parallel. “The Anthropic Sophisms (On the Heights of Despair)” – an electrifying, hypnotic & profound 9th album from these Czech avant-Black Metal voyagers – will be released on 17th June 2026.

INFERNO is: Adramelech, Ska-Gul, Morion, Sheafraidh, Matron Thorn & Spící hrdlo Antikrista

TUOMAS ROUNAKARI Announces New Official Video for ‘Bear Awakening’ Celebrating Day of the Bear & Natural Point of Midsummer

Renowned Finnish violinist, composer, and ethnomusicologist TUOMAS ROUNAKARI has announced his new official video for ‘Bear Awakening’ celebrating the Day of the Bear & Natural Point of Midsummer!

Tuomas shared:
“I am so pleased to inform about this premier of a new music video! It will be released on July 13th, which was traditionally considered the day of the Bear, the natural point of a Midsummer. Solstices were celebrated separately. Here in the Nordic countries solstice is early, summer has only began, birds still nesting, many flowers not yet in bloom. But instead, July 13th is the midpoint of summer on the land based calendar. For us, that calendar used to follow the bear in pre-christian times.
The video production began when Antti Pentikäinen filmed my live performance of the Bear Awakening song First Morning at an ancient ritual ground. The concert took place at the Heinäveden Muinaisviikot Festival in Finland last July.
This video is finally something that catches the essence of my art and animist spirituality. I am so grateful for the work Antti Pentikäinen put together, in the most effortless of productions ever. This video wanted to manifest itself. The video includes also footage with a bear, filmed in Sweden in 2014 by a Björn Ola Lind and Torkel Lundgren, the same bear that appeard on the images of Bear Awakener album.
Looking forward to join you in this uniqe moment!
Love,
Tuomas Rounakari”

This premier kicks of at midnight on Finnish time (GMT+3), July 13th 2026.

More information on Tuomas:

Tuomas Rounakari is a Finnish violinist, composer, and ethnomusicologist known for his trance-inducing solo performances that blend violin, vocals, stomping, and ankle bells into a visceral one-man ritual. A former member of Korpiklaani (2012–2022) and collaborator in Yasuharu Takanashi’s Far East Groove, Tuomas also plays the traditional Khanty bowed instrument Ning-juh.

His doctoral research (2024) focuses on altered states of consciousness through music—a phenomenon tied to sacred song traditions worldwide. This inquiry informs his performance style, which often crosses into trance and ceremony.

Tuomas draws inspiration from dialogues between humanity and nature, the visible and invisible, the ancient and the future. His debut solo album Shamanviolin was born from studying early 20th-century wax-cylinder recordings from Siberia. Performing these songs with the Indigenous communities from which they originated led to long-term collaborations with Khanty, Mansi, Sámi, and Greenlandic artists.

With over 30 albums to his name—including two solo records and four with Korpiklaani (over 34 million Spotify streams annually)—his work spans folk, metal, blues, free jazz, and avant-garde electroacoustic soundscapes.

His latest solo album, Bear Awakener (2022), is a sonic invocation, an awakening of the wild spirit within. Each track stirs ancient memory, calling forth the slumbering forces of nature, myth, and spirit.
The album centers on bear-related ceremonial songs from Khanty, Mansi, Carelian, and Finnish traditions. These songs carry the resonance of ancestors who lived in deep, reciprocal relationships with the land—cultures rooted in sustainability, self-sufficiency, and sacred balance. For Tuomas, they are living teachings, not just songs.
Rooted in ancestral songlines and shaped by trance, Bear Awakener invites listeners into deeper dialogue with the unseen, the more-than-human, and the mythic. It is a reawakening of spirit and a reconnection to something older than memory, yet urgently needed in our time.

THE EXILES Team Up with Bad Reputation Records for Reworked & Expanded 30th Anniversary Reissue

Expat classic rockers THE EXILES have joined forces with French label Bad Reputation Records for the release of their album ‘Turning Time’, which arrived yesterday on July 3.

Purchase the CD: https://badreputation.fr/THE-EXILES-TURNING-TIME

The album’s first single, ‘Rainmaker’, featuring Greg D’Angelo on drums, is streaming on the band’s Bandcamp page at https://theexilesuk.bandcamp.com/track/rainmaker-3

Formed by English guitarist Sean Manning, whose credits include stints with HURRICANE and QUIET RIOT offshoot, LITTLE WOMEN, and fellow Brit Paul Rafferty, the original vocalist for BONHAM, The Exiles were mainstays on the Southern California music scene in the early 1990s writing and recording a wealth of material and performing at venues such as the Troubadour, Whisky a Go Go, FM Station, and Club Lingerie.

After originally moving to Los Angeles, CA to accompany his close friend and newly minted DIO axeman, Rowan Robertson, and intending to study jazz, things changed when Manning was introduced to Rafferty by legendary local music journalist, Jon Sutherland. Discovering their mutual love for British blues rock and bands such as Free, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, and Faces, the duo quickly formed a strong writing partnership and recruited Hollywood-based English bassist, Paul Andrew Stanley. After briefly utilizing the services of former WHITE LION/CITIES drummer, Greg D’Angelo, the line-up was completed with the addition of Terry Mascall, a young John Bonham-style pounder from Cambridge.

“The Exiles were quintessentially an English band, four English blokes living in Hollywood playing classic rock…. just as Nirvana and grunge hit the scene!”, laughs Manning. “Paul and I were writing constantly over the course of the year, often up at Franklin Canyon reservoir, which resulted in all these tunes on the ‘Turning Time’ album. It’s a pretty broad pallete from traditional rock to some soul and blues numbers. Heavy electric to acoustic and mandolin with orchestration. I was and still am a huge admirer of Jimmy Page’s use of light and shade in the Zeppelin compositions. That sort of approach was really inspirational to us.”

While the bulk of the material on ‘Turning Time’ was recorded by the classic Exiles line-up, engineered and mixed by brothers Ricky Delana (NAZARETH, KIX) and Eddie Delana (QUIET RIOT, RHINO BUCKET), Manning and Rafferty would also team up with PAT BENATAR alumni, drummer Myron Grombacher and bassist Frank Linx, on ‘Tearing Up A Storm’ and the album’s ferocious title track opener, helmed by Benatar guitarist, Neil Giraldo, at his Malibu studio. Album closers ‘High Old Times’ and ‘Carry You Home’, the latter with Richard Baker (SANTANA, GINO VANNELLI) on flute and keyboards, were cut with Roger Sommers (TESLA, RIVERDOGS) at Royaltone Studios in North Hollywood and feature Dave Salinas (KENNY LOGGINS, DON FELDER) on drums.

First released in a limited capacity in 1996 as SEAN MANNING & PAUL RAFFERTY – ‘The Exiles’, ‘Turning Time’ constitutes an extensive re-working of the original 10 songs and adds five previously unheard bonus tracks unearthed by Manning during the process of transferring old reels to digital, including the stirring ‘Soul Woman’, ‘Ain’t No Fool’, a hypnotic ROLLING STONES-esque number, and ‘Soul Has No Home’, conjuring shades of early ROD STEWART.

Working at Empire Sound studios in Dallas TX over the course of several months, Manning added guitars and backing vocals to most of the tracks and brought in veteran keyboardist, Jeff Jacobs, whose credits include FOREIGNER and BILLY JOEL, to add Hammond B3 organ, piano. as well as strings to the album’s majestic magnum opus, ‘Richmond Castle Walk’, a not so subtle nod to LED ZEPPELIN.

“I am extremely pleased with how everything turned out”, states Manning who produced the project and re-mixed the album, assisted by Empire Sound operator, Alex Gerst. “When we recorded these songs originally, they were just quality demos, but we really didn’t get the chance to fully flesh things out the way we would have under different circumstances. I am grateful ‘Turning Time’ has afforded me the opportunity to return to the studio one more time and create a whole new album in the process.”
