THE PROGRESSIVE SOULS COLLECTIVE Release New Single + Video ‘Jake To The Bone’

THE PROGRESSIVE SOULS COLLECTIVE have released the new single ‘Jake To The Bone’, An instrumental tribute to Toto and the legendary drummer Jeff Porcaro.

The third single from the new TPSC cover album ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ (Metalville Records – release 18 October) is a tribute to the rock icons Toto. Featuring Alex Landenburg (Kamelot, Cyhra) on drums, Jamie Powell on bass and Gerald Peter (Cirque du Soleil) as a keyboard soloist the collective around guitarist and producer Florian Zepf provides an exciting version of this instrumental classic.

With ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’, TPSC presents another exciting release.

The material consists exclusively of cover songs, all hand-picked and, as expected, located in the extended prog area.

The first recordings began some time after the release of TPSC’s debut album ‘Sonic Birth’, continued through the corona pandemic and were continued during the sessions for the album ‘Sonic Rebirth’. The songs selected were personal favourites of Florian Zepf, creative head, producer and guitarist of the collective. The aim was to pay musical tribute to bands and musicians from Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd and Toto, among others, who had a great influence on Florian.

From a conceptual point of view, ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ fits seamlessly into the sequence of previous TPSC albums. ‘Sonic Birth’ and “Sonic Rebirth” are both concept albums with a thematic reference to the interplay between human development and technology. Musically, the ‘Sonic Birth’ and ‘Sonic Rebirth’ motifs can be found in some of the cover songs now presented, so that the creative and musical connection between the TPSC albums is maintained.

As usual with TPSC, the line-up on ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ is once again something to be seen and heard

The production of the entire album is very organic and equally powerful. Engineer legend Elliot Scheiner, 8-time Grammy winner and known from his collaboration with legends such as Toto, Steely Dan and Eric Clapton, was responsible for the very soulful mix. Mastering was handled by Reuben Cohen from the Grammy-winning Lurssen Mastering Studio (Metallica, among others).

Due to its extraordinary song selection, ‘Encore Vol. 1: Sonic Tributes’ should take a special place in the hearts of fans of cultivated prog music by storm.

Veonity have released “Carry On”, third single taken from the new album “The Final Element” to be released on October 18th by Scarlet Records.

Strong, fast and playful drums open this track that instantly takes the listener back to a time where power metal was done without the aid of keyboards and huge production. Sometimes in order to move forward in life, with the power and will that’s necessary, one has to remember the past to gather the energy to head into the future.

artwork by Alvaro Valverde/AV Art Ilustracion

As power metal slowly turns softer and synth-based, “The Final Element” ensures that this trend gets forever broken!

Soaring vocals (courtesy of new frontman Isak Stenvall), twin guitars and mighty choirs – strongly founded on thunderous bass lines and rumbling double bass drums – dominate and define the sixth Veonity’s studio album: the playful, energetic and well-crafted songs of the Swedish band deliver a full throttle energy boost.

“The Elements Of Power chronicles”, a saga of a hero that needs to seal the veil between the Overworld and the Underworld to prevent darkness from gaining control, is finally unraveled, and it couldn’t have been more epic and glorious.

“The Final Element” tracklist:
1 Premonition
2 Chains Of Tyranny
3 Horsemen Of The Dark
4 Carry On
5 Riders Of The Revolution
6 Warriors Code

TYRMFAR Sign with Wormholedeath for Crushing New EP “Symbiosis”

Rising Swiss black/death metal force Tyrmfar has signed a deal with Wormholedeath for their upcoming EP, Symbiosis, set to be unleashed on the world on March 28th, 2025. This partnership marks a significant milestone for the band as they continue their relentless ascent in the world of extreme metal.

“We are very excited to announce that our next EP will be released with WormHoleDeath Records!” exclaims the band. “We are very much looking forward to working with them. In addition to having already signed major productions, the label turns out to be very professional with available and helpful people. We will be able to benefit from their large network of contacts and their many years of experience.”

“Symbiosis” tracklist:

  1. Pilgrimage of Oneness
  2. Symphony of Pain
  3. Haunted by the Truth
  4. The Hubris of Humanity, Pt.1
  5. The Reckoning, Pt.2

To herald the arrival of this sonic behemoth, Tyrmfar is unleashing the first single, “Pilgrimage of Oneness”, a blistering track that serves as a taste of the devastation to come.

“Pilgrimage of Oneness” is available now on all major digital platforms: orcd.co/pilgrimageofoneness

Hailing from the Swiss mountains, Tyrmfar quickly rose through the ranks of extreme metal after their 2013 inception. Their 2015 debut EP, In The Depths Of A Dark Spirit, and 2017’s acclaimed Human Abomination set the stage for performances at major European festivals like Metal Days, earning them praise from Daily Rock as “artists who can shake the most seasoned headliners.” Their second album, Renewal Through Purification, showcased a powerful blend of black and death metal. In 2022, they pushed boundaries further with Dialectic of Ego and the Unconscious, leading to a European tour with Gorgoroth. Tyrmfar is now poised to claim their place on the world stage.

“Symbiosis” EP represents a further exploration of their compositional boundaries. Dedicated to bringing out the best in each member, the band invested significant effort into the creative process. Drawing on their collective years of experience, they sought to authentically convey their emotions through music. Against the backdrop of a tense ecological and social climate, the lyrics address these issues, expressing a sense of unease and confusion about humanity’s relationship with nature.

Strongly influenced by Scandinavian black and death metal from the late 90s and early 2000s, the EP also incorporates modern elements. Given the band members’ diverse musical tastes, the songwriting process involved a collaborative effort to blend their preferred styles. The band places great importance on emotional expression, believing that a strong connection with the audience is essential to their live performances.

Meet Tyrmfar:
Kévin Sanchez – Guitars
Florian Métrailler- Guitars
Quentin Brunner – Drums – Backing vocals
Robin Délèze – Voice
Yannick Dulon – Bass

INNER MISSING Release New Music Video ‘Letters From The Past’

Israeli-based Gothic Doom Metal band Inner Missing released the new music video ‘Letters from the Past. The track is taken from their their 10th studio album ‘The Diary’ which was released earlier this year via Finnish Inverse Records.

Sigmund comments:
“If someone had told me 15 years ago that the main themes of my most sincere album will be nostalgia and homesickness, I wouldn’t take this seriously – but fate, it seems, has a very peculiar sense of humor. The Diary was born as an attempt to rethink the loss of literally everything and to find at least some solid ground under my feet. Usually, when we evaluate the artist’s professionalism and craftsmanship, we use his ability to express (or imitate – depends on how you look at it) emotions as a main criterion – I, in case of The Diary, tried to make the opposite and to sound as detached and contemplative as possible – and still, when I listen to this album, I cannot get rid of the feeling that I let out too much.

Letters From The Past is clearly one of the centerpieces of the album and it is the only song that contains a glimmer of hope in it. It was also a serious challenge to our video production team (Olga Kann and Alex Rabets) to visualize its essence (editing of existing memories after accumulation of new data), so it is a very complex and multilayered work – not many will get it (and it is completely fine) but those who will, will definitely enjoy it and return to it more than once.

After the completion and release of The Diary I don’t really feel like writing new songs (as I said – I’ve already let out too much), but I feel a strong urge to perform these tracks live, so, despite the obvious difficulty of our situation, we have big plans of returning to the stage. Hope to see you at the festivals next season!”

The single—boasting 3.2 million global streams and over 323k video views—is featured on the band’s second full-length album GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY released in September via Better Noise Music.

“‘Greetings from Suffocate City’ is an imaginative cocktail of genres and sounds incorporating elements of My Chemical Romance, Muse, Green Day and Shinedown, that creates a sound all of their own, with a commitment to exploring themes of loss, hope, and resilience, incorporating honest and vulnerable lyrics,” praises Metal Planet Music. The album consists of 14 tracks of theatrical, dramatic, unapologetic, full-throated flair with guest appearances from Bert McCracken of The Used, Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, and Eva Under Fire. It was co-produced by Johnny Andrews (Three Days Grace, Motionless In White, Halestorm) and Lø Spirit (aka Josh Landry).
