Swedish symphonic metal quartet TUNGSTEN are pleased to unveil the final single from their upcoming album “The Grand Inferno,” which will hit the shelves on November 8, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). Vocalist Mike Andersson explains, “We wanted to give this song extra attention by choosing it as a single, not just as the title track. The sound is unmistakably TUNGSTEN, yet it’s different and more melodic. I really hope our fans and listeners receive this song well and that it surprises them in a positive way.”

“The title track, ‘The Grand Inferno,’ is about the feeling to be unnoticed or ignored for a long time. The song follows a journey of someone who stays in the background, almost invisible. But by the end, they go through a big change and finally come into their own in a powerful way, like an explosion or a burst of flames. It’s about how they find their strength and make a strong impact when they finally show who they really are,” underlines video creator Nick Johansson (guitars, backing vocals).

Pre-order “The Grand Inferno” in your preferred physical format [CD-digipak or coloured vinyl], pre-save it on your favourite digital service provider (DSP), or pre-order the album digitally to receive the title track, ‘Lullaby,’ ‘Vantablack,’ ‘Blood Of The Kings’ and ‘Walborg’ instantly now, here: https://tungsten.rpm.link/grandinfernoPR

Elevate Records is truly thrilled to present the debut album of BLOODY IDOL “The Last Crusader”, coming out at the end of September.

Bloody Idol is a supergroup made up of some of the finest Italian musicians, playing a blend of gothic and epic metal.

This is a concept album that tells the story of a European peasant who leaves his homeland in search of fortune and glory, embarking on a medieval crusade. Through various chapters, his journey unfolds, filled with loss, promises, suffering, and reflection, leading him to madness, where he imagines himself as the last crusader defending the Holy Land. His emotions serve as a metaphor for the feelings of modern man, making the concept timeless and relatable, allowing each listener to see themselves in the story and feel personally involved.

The album was conceived by Joey Mauro, a longtime keyboardist and composer, as well as the keyboardist and composer of the legendary Italian prog band Hunka Munka, who has been active for three decades in pop and rock. The contribution of the musicians involved in the recordings is fundamental:

  • Gianluca Quinto (Solisia, DeLa Muerte)
  • Marcantonio Quinto (Solisia, Hunka Munka)
  • Andrea Arcangeli (DGM, Timo Tolkki)
  • Ilaria Bernardini (Rossometile)

The vocals are delivered by four different singers:

  • Wild Steel (Shadows of Steel, Gabriels, Oracle Sun, Wild Steel)
  • Terence Holler (ex-Eldritch, Holler)
  • Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth, Ken Hensley, New Trolls)
  • Dario Grillo (Thy Majestie, Platens, Gabriels, Nightblaze)

Watch below the video of the single ‘Dreamstealer’!

The album consists of 12 original heavy rock tracks with neoclassical, symphonic, and gothic elements, which enrich each song, making it appealing even to fans of more modern genres.

Just recently, Drowning Pool announced their collaboration with Rollertown Beerworks to brew a special Czech dark lager, aptly named “Revolution,” in honor of the band’s new single.

Check them out here: https://linktr.ee/rollertownbeer

Drowning Pool, a name etched in the score of modern rock history, roars back into the spotlight with thunderous energy and uncompromising power. The band’s unmistakable sound, synonymous with raw energy and unapologetic attitude, returns to captivate audiences once again.

Known for their iconic anthem “Bodies,” Drowning Pool needs no introduction. This breakout single propelled them to international recognition, leaving an indelible mark on the nu metal landscape. The song’s relentless energy and defiant spirit resonated with a generation, becoming an anthem for moshers, metalheads, and fans of electrifying live performances.

Ryan McCombs played a pivotal role in the band’s evolution, joining their ranks in the aftermath of the tragic loss of beloved frontman Dave Williams. His powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence breathed new life into Drowning Pool, solidifying their status as metal titans. Songs like “37 Stitches,” “Feel Like I Do,” and “Turn So Cold” catapulted them to new heights, earning them a place among the genre’s heavyweights.

Yet, Drowning Pool’s story is not just about music; it’s a testament to enduring friendships and a shared passion for their craft. Ryan’s return to the band in 2023 marks a reunion of kindred spirits, a return to the roots of their musical journey. As he succinctly puts it, “Just being back in the same room together after so many years… was a quick reminder as to why I considered them to be my best friends in the business back in the day.”

Their path has not been without its challenges. “Bodies” faced misinterpretations and controversy, with its lyrics taken out of context. Nevertheless, their music has persisted, embraced by the very culture that birthed it. “Bodies” remains an enduring anthem, not just for Drowning Pool but for metal culture as a whole. Its legacy lives on, inspiring new generations of fans. Guitarist C.J. Pierce captures the essence of their dedication: “I’d play ‘Bodies’ five times a night if people really wanted it that bad!” The song’s timeless appeal transcends generations, resonating with both the seasoned and the fresh-faced.

Drowning Pool’s return is a testament to the enduring power of their music, a reminder that their unapologetic spirit continues to strike chords with audiences worldwide. The band experienced a triumphant resurgence in 2023 and with new music on the horizon, a 2024/25 calendar proving that the demand for the band isn’t about to slow down.., Drowning Pool has a white knuckle grip on their present and future with no plans to slow down.

Iranian KHSHATHRA Unleash Debut Single And Music Video ‘War Drums’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 23, 2024

Iranian symphonic death/groove metal band Khshathra has finally unleashed its debut single, “War Drums.” Premiering originally on Decibel Magazine on September 19th, the track is now available across all major streaming platforms.

Stream/Download the song here: https://fanlink.tv/khshathrawd

The release date of “War Drums” carries special significance due to the band’s name, Khshathra, which comes from Khshathra Vairya, a divine figure in Zoroastrianism. The current month in the Persian calendar is named after Khshathra Vairya, adding further meaning to the timing of this debut.

Khshathra’s debut offering, “War Drums,” charges out with a relentless riff and guttural vocals, diving straight into the action. This track combines intense groove with symphonic grandeur, creating a powerful and atmospheric soundscape.

In 53 BCE, the Roman legions, led by General Crassus, marched into the desolate deserts of Carrhae (modern-day Harran, Turkey) with 40,000 men. Ignoring the Armenian King’s offer of safe passage, Crassus chose a direct route across the Euphrates. Facing severe exhaustion and dehydration, the Romans soon found themselves pursued by the Parthian army, led by the renowned General Surena. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Parthians used psychological tactics, including massive war drums, to intimidate and encircle the Roman forces. The Romans, trapped and outmatched, endured relentless attacks from the Parthian cavalry. Crassus’s hopes of survival were dashed as the Parthians maintained their siege, leading to a brutal defeat. After the battle, Crassus was killed, and his head was allegedly used in a grisly display at a royal banquet. This historical episode highlights how greed and strategic blunders can turn a seemingly favorable situation into utter disaster.

“War Drums” draws on this historical narrative to evoke the emotions of the Battle of Carrhae. Through its dynamic riffs and powerful war chants, the song reflects the Parthian soldiers’ strength, unity, and fury. In contrast, the clean interlude, featuring a Latin spoken word segment and a mournful guitar solo, encapsulates the sadness and despair felt by the Roman soldiers. Khshathra’s music vividly portrays the contrasting experiences of both sides, capturing the battle’s intense emotional spectrum.

Khshathra bio:

Epic yet ferocious, Khshathra emerges as a powerful and relentless force from the Iranian metal scene, driven by a mission to resurrect and retell the ancient history and legends of Iran through its distinctive blend of symphonic death and groove metal. Founded in 2023 in Karaj, Iran, Khshathra is more than just a band; it is a vessel through which the echoes of a storied and tumultuous past are channeled into the present.

The band’s lyrical and visual narratives are deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of Iranian history and mythology. Khshathra’s music is a fierce homage to the blood-soaked battles, epic sagas, and legendary heroes that define Iran’s ancient past. This ancient land, with its complex and legendary history, provides a perfect backdrop for the band’s intense yet grandiose musical style. Khshathra’s soundscape is not merely a collection of songs; it is a portal that invites listeners into the heart of Iran’s ancient world, offering an immersive experience of the country’s forgotten tales and legendary figures.

Khshathra takes its name from the revered figure Khshathra Vairya, one of the divine entities created by Ahura Mazda, the supreme deity of Zoroastrianism. Khshathra Vairya is celebrated as the guardian of metals, embodying strength, protection, and the enduring spirit of resilience that is central to the band’s identity. This powerful namesake perfectly aligns with Khshathra’s mission to forge a connection between Iran’s ancient spiritual heritage and the raw, unyielding energy of their symphonic death/groove metal sound.

Khshathra’s primary motivation is to illuminate and preserve the historical, epic, mythological, and legendary narratives that have shaped Iranian culture for millennia. The band passionately believes that these stories have been neglected or misrepresented by both Iranian and international media. In particular, they aim to counteract the distortions presented by foreign portrayals, such as the infamous depiction of Persian history in films like “300.” Through its music, Khshathra seeks to reclaim and celebrate the true essence of Iran’s ancient heritage, delivering these tales with the intensity and grandeur they deserve.

GRAVA Premiere “The Great White Nothing” LP Ahead of Release

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 23, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: GRAVA. Leave a comment

No Clean Singing is currently streaming “The Great White Nothing” from GRAVA in its consuming entirety. The album is set for release on September 27th 2024 via Aesthetic Death (CD), Vinyltroll Records (LP) and Evil Noise (MC).

Stream “The Great White Nothing” at THIS LOCATION.

The Faroese/Danish trio’s debut album, “Weight of a God” (2022), showcased a violent yet atmospheric type of sludge metal that was simultaneously raw in its execution and disciplined in terms of songwriting. Its follow-up continues in the same vein while adding a touch of nuance and depth to the vicious soundscape. Like its predecessor, the album was produced by Troels Damgaard Holm and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

Though not a concept album, the album kicks off with two tracks (“Erebus” and “White Thresher”) that revolve around the same event: the tragic Franklin Expedition, which in 1845 ventured to the northernmost Arctic to explore the Northwest Passage between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The expedition was a disaster; both ships (HMS Erebus and HMS Terror) were lost, and all 128 crew members perished in the great white nothing to which the title and cover refer.

Throughout the album, GRAVA expand their lyrical universe, and the bleak sludge metal is accompanied by tales of a heartbreaking execution of a Swedish nobleman in 1707 (“Breaker”), a tragic train accident in the outskirts of Copenhagen in 1897 (“Mangled”), and a soldier’s final chaotic moments in one of the countless muddy trenches of World War I (“Bayonet”).

Just like on their debut album, GRAVA do not attempt to tell stories from A to Z but instead attempt to capture moments of death as seen through the eyes of the dying. The effect is a musical and lyrical drama that appears fragmented and intense but also surprisingly disciplined in terms of songwriting. In a genre often characterized by long songs, GRAVA never lose grip on their compositions, and although “The Great White Nothing” is full of interesting musical ideas, the tracks rarely extend far beyond the three-minute mark.

Tracklist:

1. Erebus
2. White Thresher
3. Decimate
4. Breaker
5. The Fall
6. Mangled
7. Bayonet
8. Ceasefire
9. Hinterlands

LAN/CET Reveal New Track ‘Jonestone’ from Upcoming Album “Psilocybe Semilanceata”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 23, 2024
Posted in: News. Tagged: LAN/CET. Leave a comment

LAN/CET band was formed in late 2008. It emerged during a joint jam session of two friends from the backyard, Marcin “Jeż” Jerzyna and Michał “Hippis” Markowski. Rehearsals took place at the home of Jeż’s grandmother, Regina Gogłuska, in Koczergy – near the town of Parczew [PL].

In 2011, the band was joined by a friendly drummer, Robert “Roberto Mori” Protasewicz from Siedlce. A year later, Witold Popiel, an extraordinary painter who plays the trumpet, endowed the musical world of Lan/cet with peculiar sounds. After some time, an interesting, intriguing and original style emerged, which is still gaining momentum and charisma. At the turn of 2013 and 2014, the German record label Legacy Records from Dortmund released an album entitled “Nameless“, which included 10 original songs.

In 2020, the Parczew team was joined by Łukasz “Suchy” Suszko, owner of the Wesoła 24 Studio recording studio in Lublin. In their work, the band uses, in addition to natural instruments, sounds from nature and peculiar, unusual situations from everyday life.

After ten years, the second album entitled “Psilocybe Semilanceata” is going to be released, which is a record of many years of recording experiences, feelings and events that are true and sincere.

Soon, on September 27, 2024, the Polish label Via Nocturna will release the second album entitled “Psilocybe Semilanceata“. Diana Sawicka from What the Moon Brings is responsible for the graphic design of the album. Album will be released in digital format and on CD (pre-order).

Below we present the newest song promoting the upcoming release, which the band comments on: “This song is our musical description of the dark story that happened in the Jonesstone settlement in Guyana on November 18, 1978.”

For promotional purpose, earlier the band released the following singles:
