Rumored to be finished, SUBWAY TO SALLY, the German grandmasters of folk metal, prove they are very much alive with their 15th studio album! Post Mortem, set for release on December 20, 2024 via Napalm Records, arrives not even two years after their 2023 predecessor, Himmelfahrt, was secretly intended to be the final album of their over 30-year career.

In hindsight, this explains the symbolic title. However, things turned out differently. SUBWAY TO SALLY had clearly struck a chord with their music, as fan and critic reactions to Himmelfahrt were overwhelmingly positive. Following a nearly sold-out tour, it became clear that the 14th album was not the final chapter. The release of Himmelfahrt unleashed an untamable lightness and energy that ignited their creativity so strongly that SUBWAY TO SALLY now stand ready to unveil their brand-new masterpiece, Post Mortem, created in the fastest production process in the band’s history.

“The world around us is still in flux. The prevailing feeling is that nothing is getting better; on the contrary, it seems to be getting worse. The ‘Black Death’ is over, but the long-awaited Freedom Day after COVID never came. Instead, one problem seems to replace the next. We are living in times of grand failure. German Folk Metal Legends SUBWAY TO SALLY Celebrate Their Rebirth with Their 15th Studio Album!

The new masterpiece begins with the explosive track “Phönix”, which celebrates the creative rebirth of the folk metal institution. On Post Mortem, SUBWAY TO SALLY neither look back nor into the future, but rather deliver a sharp analysis of the present. Songs like “Wunder”, “Nero”, “Lumpensammler”, and “Die Erde bebt” offer the band’s signature soundscape while exploring socially critical themes without moralizing. This serious side is contrasted by captivating tracks that celebrate life and the simple joy of music. The anthemic title track “Post Mortem”, the rousing “Unter dem Banner”, and the poetic ballad “Herz in der Rinde” unleash an uncanny joy of playing. All songs unite the band’s familiar trademarks of great melodies and profound lyrics but never feel redundant. The haunting “Atlas” melancholically draws on Greek mythology, while the folk metallers showcase a heavier yet melodic side on “Stahl auf Stahl”. For this piece, they enlisted their labelmates Warkings as guest performers, whose power metal adds a unique flavor to the track. With English lyrics in the chorus, SUBWAY TO SALLY return to their roots. With “Kummerkind”, the septet tackles mental struggles that many people cannot escape, once again proving their precise grasp of the zeitgeist.

Brian Wheat, the founder and bassist of the multi-platinum selling band Tesla, has announced an exciting new musical venture with AleX, an emerging singer/songwriter from the U.K. The duo has joined forces to create a new band called Violet Breed, with their debut single, “AWAKE,” out now on all major platforms.

Violet Breed represents a powerful collaboration between Wheat, a seasoned rock icon, and AleX, a fresh and dynamic voice in the music industry. Brian and AleX are able to tap into experiences from these diverse generations, which add to the depth of the music they produce. Their passion and inspiration for music is born from a shared love for records by The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Queen, and My Chemical Romance. Influences from these bands is subtly interwoven into their music.

Over his successful forty years in the music industry, Brian has crafted an enviable music career. Performing live, author to autobiography – ‘Son Of A Milkman’ and managing the multi-platinum selling rock band Tesla, alongside side projects such as SouL MotoR and now Violet Breed. Brian has maintained an impressive consistency in the music industry over multiple decades resulting in an abundance of sell-out tours across the US and world.

Over the last ten years, Brian has acted as a close mentor and peer to AleX. Notably being a huge influence in the studio, producing and co-writing songs. His oversight has helped refine the music AleX creates and brought priceless industry for AleX to further improve his craft. Nordic alternative folk group Kalandra are thrilled to announce the release of their newest album “A Frame Of Mind“, which is released today via By Norse Music and is available worldwide on all major streaming platforms.

Each song on the album reflects Kalandra’s unique fusion of atmospheric rock and dark pop. Standout tracks include previously released tracks The State of the World, Bardaginn and Are You Ready.

But that’s not all! As a celebration to the release of the album, their newest video for the song

“I Am”, will be released today!

Vocalist Katrine states: “I Am” serves as the opening chapter of Kalandra’s upcoming album, “A Frame of Mind”, setting the stage for the introspective journey that lies ahead. The lyrics delve into the act of self-reflection, acknowledging the person you’ve become and taking responsibility for your own evolution.

The music video is made by the multi talented filmmaker, puppet maker and stop motion artist Martyna Koleniec.

“We are so incredibly proud of how she’s managed to make our storytelling and vision come to life. We didn’t really have to follow up much as she simply “understood” the task perfectly, which makes us both teary eyed and ever grateful. We hope it resonates with you as much as it does for us.”

After releasing their successful 2020 debut album “The Line” and scoring a soundtrack for the game “Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands,” Norwegian alternative folk Kalandra are back with their second studio album effort, “A Frame of Mind”.

Steadily building momentum, Kalandra have toured with Leprous and A.A. Wlliams in 2022 and 2023, played at renowned festivals such as Hellfest and Midgardsblot. The new record showcases the band’s gained experiences and expansive songwriting. As a result, Kalandra is more versatile than ever, without losing touch of the immersive sound the quartet is known and loved for.

“The album can be described as an introspective journey about life’s experiences and how they shape the way we perceive the world. It explores what we put within the frame of our day-to-day lives, but also what is excluded. NEKROMANTIX Unleash New Album “Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend”

Widely regarded as a buried classic, NEKROMANTIX’s fourth album, Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend, is ready to once again haunt the world with some of the best in punk-inspired horror mayhem!

Formed by former submarine radio operator Kim Nekroman in Copenhagen in 1989, the Danish-American Nekromantix needed just a handful of gigs to establish themselves at the forefront of the psychobilly movement – a status they retain today.

Both visually and musically, Nekromantix were, and remain, an astonishing experience. Who, after all, can forget the first time they saw Nekroman’s legendary coffinbass – an upright bass shaped like a casket? Or the first time they heard the band thundering out of the speakers?

Recorded with drummer Tim Kristensen and guitarist Søren Petersen, Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend catapults both experiences back to the forefront of the mind, a thumping, driving invocation of all that is great about grisly ghouls and dancing with demons.

With all new artwork and digitally remastered audio, the vinyl pressing marks the album’s first ever release in that format in the USA. The CD bonus tracks, meanwhile, include the band’s mach one recasting of the Doors’ “Light My Fire,” a 1996 b-side that remains one of Nekromantix’s most treasured releases.
