FORBANNET have released a new single ‘Excavating the Minerals of Esoterica’ taken from the band’s from “Abstruse Metempsychosis” EP.
Forbannet, meaning cursed in Norwegian, is an esoteric death metal band from Rotterdam and Groningen, Netherlands. Combining elements of brutal death metal, death-doom and old school melodic death metal, we challenge the psychological and spiritual limits of the human mind throughout our lyrics, imagery and instrumentalism. For fans of: Phlebotomized, Blood Incantation, Intestine Baalism, Eternal Suffering, Worm.
ASTRAL DOORS release the new single “Vikings Rise”, the second pre-single taken from the coming studio album “The End Of It All”, out on October 18th on Metalville Records.
On “Vikings Rise”, ASTRAL DOORS return to their heavier roots. The song tells the story of the Vikings. The sound is correspondingly heavy and powerful, but at the same time unfolds an almost epic chorus that only a few bands apart from ASTRAL DOORS manage to achieve in such quality and size.
The legendary metal band founded in Borlänge, Sweden, in 2003 returns with a brand new studio album five years after their chart success ‘Worship Or Die’.
After nine albums released so far, the guys were keen to record a tenth, their anniversary album.
The band decided to call the album ‘The End Of It All’ as a reflection on what the world is like today and also to somehow say that this might be the last album in the ASTRAL DOORS’ career.
The recording of ‘The End Of It All’ took place once again in Borlänge, and the band found the inspiration and creativity to present the world with a new classic ASTRAL DOORS album.
Nils Patrik Johansson’s lyrics and vocal melodies are outstanding, as has always been the case with the ASTRAL DOORS. In addition, the two songwriters Johan Lindstedt and Joachim Nordlund prove once again that they have the exact feel for what catchy heavy metal should sound like.
So is this the end of everything or a new beginning?

Exactly 30 years to the month after the band was founded, German melodic/celtic death metallers SUIDAKRA will release their 15th studio album “DarkanakraD” on November 7th!
Musically, the band seems to be reflecting on their early years, as DarkanakraD is undoubtedly dominated by melodic death metal, but at the same time it also represents a further development. The album, whose title translates as “Armageddon”, concludes the “Realms Of Odoric” trilogy, which began in 2016 with the album of the same name. We can be excited, because “Darkankrad” contains everything that has shaped the band over the last 30 years and is an album that couldn’t have been a better present for the band’s anniversary to themselves and their die-hard fans! The album will contain 11 songs and will be released on CD and vinyl.
A first look at the cover artwork, of course designed by Kris Verwimp, is attached. Be prepared, more info soon!
Belgian death metal heavy weights MORDKAUL celebrate the release of their new studio offering “Feeding The Machine” via Massacre Records. Out now as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats, you can order your album copy of this must-have rager at: https://lnk.to/feedingthemachine
In support, MORDKAUL have just unleashed a video clip for their latest single “Dead Heart Awake”. Singer Tommy Goffin reveals about the track: “Lives are made up of memories. Every one of us has a past, a history that defines him. But his personal mythology can be haunting. The past is not always the old friend that warms our nights, it can also be the vengeful ghost that won’t leave us be. It becomes a nightmare, a terror that stalks, like a burnt witch, that refuses to stay buried.
A song kicking off with an insane drum intro to hit you in the face with a fast up-tempo stomper. Once again, a moshpit igniter.
‘All hope is lost, your gods have failed.'”
“Feeding The Machine” was recorded in two parts. The first half of the album was recorded at Project Zero Studio in the summer of 2022, the second half at the legendary Galaxy Studios in the summer of 2023, while mixing and mastering was handled by Dan Swanö. The band’s new album also features guest appearances from such as James McIlroy (ex-Cradle Of Filth) and more.
Where the 2021 album “Dress Code: Blood” was heavily inspired by the iconic Swedish death metal sound of the 90’s, “Feeding The Machine” goes a step further than that. With wider influences of 90’s death metal acts like Morbid Angel and Death, “Feeding The Machine” hits even harder, and aims to elevate the band to new heights!

There’s a storm brewing in the antipodes, and it goes by the name of Rainbow Skull Party. This three-piece psychedelic grunge outfit hailing from Australia has been steadily shaking the rafters of the indie music scene since their debut in 2023.
Comprised of the irrepressible Cuthbert brothers, Lawrie and Paul, and their partner in crime David James, Rainbow Skull Party has made a name for themselves by blending the raw energy of punk rock with the kaleidoscopic swirls of psychedelic soundscapes. Their journey began with the explosive single ‘Keep It Going, Going, Going, Go!’, a debut that pounded through the speakers with a furious mix of driving rhythms, fierce vocals, and a maelstrom of guitar madness that left listeners gasping for air. February 2024 saw the release of their sophomore single ‘Masquerade‘, a track that further solidified their status as one of Australia’s most promising indie bands—a title officially bestowed upon them by Independent Music Reviews. But if Masquerade hinted at the chaos lurking beneath the surface, their forthcoming single ‘ClownFace’, was released on 13th September, promises to tear the lid off the box entirely.
“The song began organically from a jam. Lawrie found a new setting on his flanger guitar pedal and it inspired the guitar riffs and sounds for the song. Coupled with the powerful beat and rhythm, the song came together very quickly. From the initial carnival-like flanging guitar sound, it was always going to have a clown element to the lyrics. We even called it “Clown” for a long time before it became “ClownFace”. That inspiration shaped the lyrics to explore a clown related narrative. There’s lots of different references in the lyrics, and they can be interpreted in different ways. The underlying theme of the song is misconception, told through the perspective of a clown. The band’s name “Rainbow Skull Party” was meant to inspire multidimensional, perhaps even contradictory styles and approaches. For “ClownFace” there’s a fusion of distinct noise elements, juxtaposed with melodic grooves. Dave takes great inspiration from drummers Dave Grohl, John Bonham and Joey Jordison, and their influence is evident in his thumping rhythms on this track. We love playing the song live and it always gets a good reaction from the crowd.”
‘ClownFace’ is a sonic blitzkrieg that begins with an explosive intro, crashing into a menacing interlude and setting the tone for the chaos that follows. The verse opens with the bold line, ‘I need my night fix, you’ll love my magic tricks,’ leading into a powerful chorus where heavy rock, indie, and psychedelic styles collide. Rainbow Skull Party showcases their knack for fusing diverse elements into a captivating whole. ‘ClownFace’ is crafted for the stage, with fiery interludes and commanding performances that make it a full-blown spectacle, perfectly capturing the band’s chaotic brilliance and raw energy.
As they prepare for the release of their debut EP in late 2024 and a double album in 2025, Rainbow Skull Party stands poised to explode out of the underground and onto a much larger stage. With ‘ClownFace‘, they’ve thrown down the gauntlet—a challenge to all who dare to follow in their wake. This is a band that thrives on the edge of mayhem, where the only rule is that there are no rules, and the only certainty is that the party’s just getting started.

Following the release of their much-acclaimed studio output Stand United (released in March 2024 via AFM Records HERE!), lauded by both fans and music press alike, hard rock and power metal titans FIREWIND have just kicked off their European tour alongside SONATA ARCTICA, SERIOUS BLACK and TUNGSTEN! In December, they will be also joining forces again with label mates MASTERPLAN.
Now, perfect in time for the tour start (find all upcoming dates below!), the band surrounded by iconic guitarist Gus G is premiering a brand new music video for the song “Talking in Your Sleep”, a cover version of the 80s pop rock classic originally recorded by The Romantics. Gus comments:
“During the recording sessions of the “Stand United” album we all wanted to record a cover song as it had been a while since we’d done that. We all love the classic gem “Talking in Your Sleep” by the Romantics and agreed unanimously to go for it. We gave it the Firewind treatment of course and it sounds bit heavier now!
To celebrate the current European tour we just kicked off, we decided to drop a new video for this track featuring road footage from the first leg of our world tour, taken from our US and Japanese shows earlier this year.
We hope you enjoy and hopefully you’ll catch us on tour, on what will be the last dates in support of this album cycle!”

Since more than twenty years, FIREWIND enthrall heavy music fans with their exciting blend of hard rock and power metal. Razor-sharp riffs by Gus G, big hooks and solos meet the incredible vocal skills of charismatic singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Radiant, Seventh Avenue, amongst others).
Their latest album Stand United features nine songs produced with Dennis Ward (Magnum, Unisonic), as well as the cover of ‘Talking in Your Sleep’. The critically acclaimed studio offering also bears testament to the band’s sheer enthusiasm and lyrical topics that could not be more relevant. “This world seems to be getting more and more out of balance, what with environmental disasters, the pandemic, the wars currently raging all over the globe,” Gus said earlier.“In such times, it’s more important than ever for mankind to stand close together instead of fighting each other. That’s what ‘Stand United’ is about!”
