STERBHAUS releases a very last music video on the 24th of April shortly after having the new album “Next Akin to Chaos” hitting stores around the globe. And much like every Sterbhaus music video the new “Whippersnapper” doesn’t disappoint as it is as hilarious as it is entertaining, cinematic and completely unique.
That little girl who buried birds and ended up stealing a dubious occupation in the fan favourite video for “Absolutely Do Not Die!” has now grown up. That was 12 years ago… and this is now.
Meet the Blizzard travelling robot “Abboth” (named for obvious reasons), join a trek across Stockholm with a hot-dog munching goat guitar “Hellmut the Goatard” and his Angus Young stomping thrashing buddy in the form of a well dressed crow… and watch it all burn in the end.
And try to spot the Candlemass “Bewitched” parody 😉
Simply put; this is truly a sight to behold! And much like the new album “Next Akin to Chaos” – a worthy epitaph as Sterbhaus now ends.
Sterbhaus is the Stockholm trio with members previously/currently active in bands like Shining, Elvira Madigan, Veile (Ghul of Mayhem side project), Ondskapt etc. Playing a concoction dubbed Metal Deluxe which is to be described as a timeless mash between Thrash, Heavy, Death, Black and Progressive Metal. After a full decade in the making, the latest offering “Next Akin to Chaos” really sports Sterbhaus at its very peak! Ironically! – since it is a Sterbhaus that now hammers down the very last nail and will never perform the album live.
Swedish post-rock duo Oh Hiroshima have unveiled their evocative new single ‘Meridian’, the latest glimpse into their forthcoming album And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter, due for release on 5th June via PelagicRecords. Alongside the announcement, the band have confirmed a run of European tour dates this autumn in celebration of the new record.
Speaking on the track, the band share: “We pulled a lot from our post-rock roots for this track while still retaining the intensity of our more recent work. To us, it feels like a distillation of our journey as a band, where our past and present collide.”
On And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter, Oh Hiroshima further refine their hallmark interplay of restraint and release, as delicate, shimmering guitars gradually give way to towering crescendos. Steeped in existential weight and a sense of modern disillusionment, the record traces a path through despair and meaning, carried by an undercurrent of quiet resilience.
Oh Hiroshima have built a reputation for transforming introspection into vast, cinematic sound. The Swedish band has spent the better part of the last decade refining a musical language that balances fragility with overwhelming emotional force. Their music exists in the space where atmosphere, melody and gradual intensity converge, where hushed textures evolve patiently into towering waves of sound. With each release, the group has deepened their identity as one of the genre’s most evocative and emotionally resonant voices.
And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter continues Oh Hiroshima’s pursuit to refine the balance between vulnerability and power. At the core of their sound lies a delicate interplay between restraint and release. Their compositions carefully cultivate tension, letting each layer unfold organically: chiming guitars, distant reverberations, and minimal rhythmic pulses that feel suspended in air, all contrast against the heavily drenched power they can unleash. Whether the passage be titanic or still, Oh Hiroshima establish a sense of openness and emotional ambiguity, allowing listeners to settle into the sonic landscape as the music works its slow ascent.
Commenting on the album, the band state: “The album title And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter is taken from T. S. Eliot’s epic poem The Waste Land. For this album, the dead tree works as a metaphor for ways of living that drain the world of meaning and offer no real way of navigating the hardships of life. We are living in a time when it has become harder and harder to imagine a bright future. This leaves many of us with a deep sense of hopelessness that easily breeds cynicism and apathy. In that state it becomes easy to shut the world out and give up any attempts at meaningful interaction with the world around us. A destructive cycle follows, as this leaves us with no way of sheltering ourselves from our initial despair at the state of things. But these songs also aim to paint something meaningful and hopeful. A form of idealisation not rooted in naivety but in realism, because we need ideals to gather enough strength to leave the shelterless dead trees of our lives behind.”
Oh Hiroshima consistently demonstrate a growing confidence in exploring the edges of their sound. Backed by special guests, a whole array of instrumentation and a growing pallet for wider experimentation, And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter evokes Oh Hiroshima’s unique emotional landscape, each composition a relentlessly captivating journey that inspires reflection and release. Every motif, choice and touch contribute to the shifting terrains that gradually unfold into luminous intensity. By blending harmonics, immersive production and a deeply intuitive sense of pacing, Oh Hiroshima have crafted an album that is woven with intimacy and expansively felt.
“We tracked the foundation of the record (drums, bass and electric guitars) at Studio Gröndahl with KarlDaniel Lidén (Swarm of the Sun), who has worked with many really good bands before, he took great care in the drum setup and recording, and we’re especially happy with how that turned out, adds vocalist Jakob Hemström. The rest of the album was recorded in Örebro by me and my brother, with a little help from some friends of the band. Production-wise this is our most ambitious record by far because of the number of instruments and musicians that contributed. Ten additional musicians were involved this time around. Magnus Lindberg mixed and mastered the album. It’s the third time in a row. He’s great to work with, has a great résumé, and always delivers quality work.”
And the Dead Tree Gives No Shelter track list:
1. Servant of All 2. Meridian 3. Angelos 4. Skeleton Key 5. Tree of Life 6. Broken Sunlight 7. Ivory Tower 8. Exit Cloud

When you’re gathering guests for a Rainbow tribute album, who better to invite than some of the people who made Rainbow such a great band in the first place?
That’s what Cleopatra Records have done. Ride The Rainbow is an absolutely star-studded journey through the many faces of the Ritchie Blackmore-led legend, with stunning performances from no fewer than six Rainbow alumni – Bob Daisley, Graham Bonnet, Don Airey, Joe Lynn Turner, Doogie White, and Ronnie Romero! Plus Blackmore’s Night vocalist Candice Night, and Ritchie’s successor in Deep Purple, Steve Morse.
As the subtitle says, it truly is “The Ultimate Tribute To Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow.”
And to get the ball rolling, here’s the fantasy league line up of Bonnet, Airey and Daisley reuniting for the first time since the dawn of the eighties, to perform a song that Daisley first recorded on Rainbow’s third album, also titled Long Live Rock’n’Roll, in 1978. The late Ronnie James Dio was the frontman on that record, but of course Bonnet and Airey know it well… they joined the band for its next album, Down To Earth, but “Long Live Rock’n’Roll” remained a concert favorite throughout their own time with the band.
The rhythm section here, too, is legendary. Bob Daisley is here, of course. But there’s more. Back when Ritchie was first starting out with Deep Purple, Vanilla Fudge were one of the nascent band’s biggest influences. Keyboard player Jon Lord caught the American group’s first London performance in 1967, and was convinced, “we were going to be an English Vanilla Fudge.” Drummer Carmine Appice, here taking a break from his current duties with Cactus, was a founder member of the Fudge.
“I always liked ‘Long Live Rock’n’Roll’,” says Carmine. “It had a Cactus boogie, easy for me to play…it kicked ass then and now!”
Ace guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, on the other hand, was but a youth when Rainbow launched in 1975. But, he recalls, “I heard the Rainbow Rising album as a kid and became a life-long Rainbow fan! It’s a great honor to play on this song and to pay tribute to this historic band!”
Releasing on June 19, the full album effectively covers the complete Rainbow story, from debut album favorites “Catch The Rainbow” and “Temple Of The King,” through to “Street Of Dreams” from the original band’s 1983 farewell Bent Out Of Shape.
1. Long Live Rock ’n’ Roll – Bob Daisley, Graham Bonnet, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Carmine Appice, Don Airey 2. Man on the Silver Mountain – Sebastian Bach, Doug Aldrich, Bob Daisley, Carmine Appice, Mick Box, Jonathan Cain 3. Stargazer – Derek Sherinian, Marty Friedman, Vinny Appice, Jürgen Engler, Joe Bouchard, Ronnie Romero 4. Lady of the Lake – Angel 5. Rainbow Eyes – Mike Tramp 6. Since You Been Gone – Marty Friedman, Vinny Appice, Graham Bonnet, Jürgen Engler 7. Kill the King – Rick Wakeman, Bob Daisley, Vinnie Moore, Marc Lopes, Chris Adler 8. The Temple of the King – Steve Morse, Phil Soussan, Ronnie Romero, Simon Wright, Jonathan Cain, Kevin James Morse 9. Jealous Lover – George Lynch, Vinny Appice, Andrew Freeman, David Ellefson, Jonathan Cain 10. I Surrender – Eric Gales, Tim “Ripper” Owens, Phil Soussan, Don Airey, Chris Adler 11. Catch the Rainbow – Doogie White, Derek Sherinian, Chris Poland, Vinny Appice, Bob Daisley 12. Street of Dreams – Paul Shortino, Joel Hoekstra, Joe Bouchard, Fred Aching, Jonathan Cain 13. As the curtain falls on an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades, SEPULTURA are preparing to close their final chapter at the end of this year. With over 40 years of band history, 14 gold records, and performances across more than 80 countries, SEPULTURA stand as Brazil’s uncompromising emissary to the global stage and one of today’s most influential metal bands.
Currently bringing their pioneering sound to audiences worldwide on the ‘Celebrating Life Through Death‘ farewell tour, the question has arisen: how should SEPULTURA mark the end of such a monumental journey? The answer came naturally: By capturing a final creative moment and preserving it for posterity.
Today, SEPULTURA have released their final recorded music, The Cloud of Unknowing EP, available today via Nuclear Blast Records.
Vocalist Derrick Green stated about the album’s focus track ‘All Souls Rising‘:
“The core idea for the track was inspired by a book by Madison Smartt Bell about the slave rebellion in 1780’s Haiti. On a broader level, it speaks to what’s happening in society today – how much can be changed when we come together beyond race, religion, and politics. It’s also about the changes we can make within ourselves.”
The Cloud of Unknowing EP is one of SEPULTURA’s most diverse and emotionally resonant releases. Across four tracks, the EP serves as a bittersweet farewell, showcasing the full spectrum of the band’s creativity, reflecting both the ferocity and depth that have defined SEPULTURA’s legacy.

The Grammy-nominated US powerhouse singer-songwriter Beth Hart extends an iconic chapter, announcing a special digital deluxe edition of her acclaimed 2024 album, You Still Got Me – set for release on 17 June via Provogue. Hart will also be sweeping across Europe, playing shows from May to July and returning again in November. A September tour of the U.S.A. will also soon be announced.
Reinvigorating the record, the deluxe edition unlocks six tracks that were only previously available on a limited-edition box set, beginning with the jazzy blues sizzler, ‘Mean Ole Man Of Mine’.
“Mean Ole Man Of Mine” tells the story of a girl drawn to a wild, larger-than-life man—someone rough, unpredictable, and unapologetically bold. He wears a cattail for a tie, not because of fashion, but because he just ripped the tail right off. She wants a man that’s blowing people away in the alleyway – a real freakin’ pimp.
The sultry groove of “Stuff For You” offers another slice of Beth Hart magic. The deluxe edition turns up the heat with extended versions of “Savior With A Razor,” featuring the unmistakable guitar firepower of Slash of Guns N’ Roses, along with “Wonderful World,” “Wanna Be Big Bad Johnny Cash,” and “Don’t Call The Police.”
The original album made a powerful global impact, storming the charts at #1 on the US Billboard Blues Album chart, #1 on the UK Jazz & Blues chart, and Top 10 across Europe. With over 11 million streams worldwide, it stands as a testament to Hart’s magnetic artistry and enduring connection with audiences.
Adding to the excitement, Hart will embark on a tour performing 39 shows across the UK, Germany, Italy, Greece, Sweden and beyond—bringing her electrifying, soul-baring live performances to stages across the continent.
You Still Got Me, exemplifies her ability to seamlessly navigate across genres, breaking boundaries between blues, rock, and Americana. There were a number of singles from the original release; from the gritty, high-energy rocker ‘Savior With A Razor,’ featuring Guns N’ Roses’ Slash, to the tender ballad ‘Wonderful World,’ inspired by her family. ‘Big Bad Johnny Cash’ track draws on the signature sound of Cash’s most iconic hits, blending Hart’s rich vocals with a steady, hypnotic groove that channels his rebellious spirit and the uplifting ‘Little Heartbreak Girl’ further highlights her knack for crafting empowering anthems that resonate with audiences.
If you have ever seen Beth Hart live or immersed yourself in her music, you know she pours every ounce of herself into her songs. Firebrands inspire; it’s what attracts people to them. We all have our “Me” when she sings “You still got me” – a loved one, a friend, a pet, a place, a memory, a song. Beth Hart continues to inspire.
