Swedish hardcore punk icons WOLFBRIGADE today unleash the title track of their upcoming new full-length, Life Knife Death, set for release on September 13th via Metal Blade Records.
Forged in 1995 in the small Swedish city of Mariestad by key players from Sweden’s legendary hardcore scene, WOLFBRIGADE — previously known as Wolfpack until 1999 — stands among Scandinavia’s most respected, influential, and reliable purveyors of real-world brute-force tumult. On Life Knife Death, thirty years of skill are honed to a fine edge and dispatched with greater style and intensity than ever before. Most immediately, there’s the sheer velocity and barely controlled rage pumping through dynamic d-beaten blood-shakers like “Ways To Die“ and “Your God Is A Corpse,” the furious attack assisted to heart-fluttering greatness by a newly loosened sense of raucous spontaneity. The band’s disparate influences are drawn together with unifying solidity – the remorseless rhythms of Discharge, the blue-collar rock ‘n’ roll of Motörhead, the heads-down bludgeon of classic Entombed – even the Beatles get a look in, albeit in subverted form, with the splendid title “A Day In The Life Of An Arse.”
Comments the band on the track, “Life Knife Death,” “mankind casts a long shadow of bloodshed and brutality. From a whack on the head with a mammoth’s thigh bone to a drone strike against a children’s hospital. Life’s gonna life, human’s gonna knife.”

In a 2019 Bandcamp interview to promote their last LP, The Enemy: Reality, WOLFBRIGADE bassist Johan Erkenvåg observed that, “the political climate in the world these past few years has been the worst that we’ve ever experienced in our lifetimes.” After half a decade of war, pestilence, catastrophe, and terror, it’s as if the world heard Erkenvåg’s assertion and said, “hold my beer.” Mounting global chaos may have us all darkly fearing the end times, but it has also seemingly created the ideal circumstances for a hardcore punk LP as coruscatingly brutal as WOLFBRIGADE‘s Life Knife Death.
“Well yeah, who could’ve known! The five years that have passed since our last album have served as a pretty good backdrop for a new punk record or misanthropy in general,” affirms the band, adding a wry reference for the Bill Hicks fans, “Mankind – a virus with shoes. As always, our lyrics are fueled by the ever-growing disgust we feel about humanity. The everyday realization that we are a part of this fear-animalistic stupidity that drives the world further into oblivion. The inspiration just keeps raining down from the sky, killing the masses. Waking up to this every day makes us want to scream in horror.”
Swiss contemporary thrash metal force COMANIAC drops a pummeling new playthrough video for their track, “Breakdown Rite,” off their critically acclaimed album None For All. Witness the band’s technical prowess and relentless energy come alive.
Formed in 2012, Swiss thrashers Comaniac gained acclaim with their self-released debut, “Return To The Wasteland,” crowned as “THE Thrash Highlight 2015.” The 2017 release, “Instruction For Destruction,” via SAOL, showcased growth, with tracks like “COAL” gaining international radio play and media attention.
Extensive touring ensued, supporting acts such as OVERKILL and METAL CHURCH. In 2018, they embarked on the “Kamikazee – The Spirit Of Japan” Tour, introducing a Japan Edition of their second offering through CAPTURED RECORDS. Following a 7-inch split with US outfit IRONFLAME and a 2019 European tour, 2020 brought their third album, “Holodox,” produced by Tommy Vetterli (CORONER), receiving critical acclaim.
In 2021, they toured Switzerland with BURNING WITCHES and played major metal festivals. The momentum continued in 2022, joining VEKTOR (USA) for the “Activate Europe 2022” Tour, performing 26 shows consecutively. Anticipation grew in 2023 with the announcement of their fourth studio album, “None For All,” and a deal with WORMHOLEDEATH. The album has already garnered attention from international magazines, praising it as their most mature work.
About the Album: “None For All” addresses and criticizes the imbalance of empathy and indifference in society. Between structure and chaos, hope and resignation, nine songs make you think individually, socially, and politically.

Sven Gali’s trademark blend of heavy riffs, gritty vocals, and anthemic melodies span decades. Cutting their teeth in the bar circuit of Southern Ontario, Canada in the late 80’s, Sven Gali’s live show was a full on circus of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll.
Emerging with a record deal with BMG, Sven Gali released their debut self-titled release in 1992. From the first chord of “Under The Influence” Sven Gali made their mark. Follow up singles “Tie Dyed Skies” and “In My Garden” paved the way for the ballad number 6 CanCon song of 1993 that also went Top 10 nationwide, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.”
As the album went Gold, Sven Gali won the MuchMusic Best Metal Video Award in 1993 for “Under The Influence” and was nominated for two Junos. With a worldwide release, Sven Gali toured with the likes of Def Leppard, Foreigner and April Wine.
Sven Gali’s follow-up, Inwire, was partly recorded in in Seattle with producer Kelly Gray and saw the band take on a more alternative experimental tone. The band broke up soon after the album’s release and played sporadic shows before solidifying a new lineup with original members Dave Wanless (vocals), Andy Frank (guitar) and TT (bass) bringing in guitarist Sean Williamson and drummer Dan Fila from former BMG labelmates Varga.
Sven Gali’s new release, Bombs And Battlescars, released through Canadian label Music In Motion Ent and distributed worldwide through Deko Entertainment, combines the best of both Sven Gali eras. The album contains five new originals. “One Gun” is a relentless driver that sets the battlefield ablaze with its blistering guitar work and commanding vocals. The massive groove of “Coming Home” and fierce anthem “Monster” showcase Sven Gali’s unapologetic attitude while the sonic prowess of “Life Inside” stands side by side with any current alternative metal peers. Closer “Nothing New” showcases the melodic side of the band with a catchy acoustic groove.
Bombs And Battlescars also brings the band full circle with a cover of Triumph’s “Spellbound.” Recorded at Toronto’s Metalworks studio where many of Sven Gali’s early songs were recorded and demoed, acclaimed Coney Hatch frontman Andy Curran produced the track bringing the song into the modern age. Triumph drummer Gil Moore also appears in the video. The album is filled out with three remastered unreleased tracks from the band’s 90’s recording vault.
Track 02 Coming Home is also available in Dolby Atmos here and on Apple Music
Sven Gali celebrates the US and European releases of Bombs And Battlescars on Friday, September 13, for both physical and streaming. The latest video for for “Coming Home” is gathering steam, and additional videos from the album for “One Gun” and “Monster” and the Triumph cover “Spellbound” can be viewed on their YouTube channel. The band’s latest single, “Life Inside,” along with the video for the song is set to come out with the release.
Bombs And Battlescars on CD and limited edition army green vinyl are available through retail.
