Black metal legends MORK have announced their new album Syv, set for release on 20th September on Peaceville. Alongside the news, the band have shared the album’s first single ‘Utbrent’.
Speaking about the new single, Mork creator, frontman and mastermind Thomas Eriksen said “Utbrent is a depiction of getting burnt out and the struggle of holding oneself standing. Even whilst silently knowing the day will actually come and break you down…the harsh punishment of living as life breaks you down and burns you out”. Following the success of his first single ‘Mother Mary’ featuring Slash and Erik Grönwall, legendary guitarist Michael Schenker is set to release the second single ‘Rock Bottom’ from his highly anticipated new album ‘My Years with UFO’.
This epic 11-minute track once again showcases an incredible lineup featuring Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray, Helloween) on vocals, Derek Sherinian on keys, Brian Tichy on drums, and Barry Sparks on bass. The new single paves the way for what promises to be one of the most exciting rock albums of 2024.
Schenker’s new album ‘My Years with UFO’ is a tribute to the golden years that saw British hard rock band UFO rise from an underground phenomenon to rock legends.
Produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, the new album marks the 50th anniversary of Schenker‘s era with UFO, spanning from 1972 to 1978. The ‘German Wunderkind’ was asked to join UFO at just 17 years old. Touring the globe as a teenager, Schenker became a driving force behind some of UFO’s most loved tracks, such as ‘Doctor Doctor’, ‘Rock Bottom’, and ‘Only You Can Rock Me’.
Although Michael Schenker’s era with UFO spanned only six years, his influence as a young songwriter and exceptional guitarist had already left a lasting mark on the world of rock. During these meteoric years, the UFO albums ‘Phenomenon’, ‘ForceIt’, ‘No Heavy Petting’, ‘LightsOut’, ‘Obsession’, and the seminal live album ‘Strangers in the Night’ were recorded, each contributing significantly to the genre. ‘Strangers in the Night’ particularly stands out as one of the most influential live rock albums of all time and is still regarded as a cornerstone in any rock enthusiast’s collection.
In this celebratory album, Michael Schenker presents 11 of UFO’s greatest hits from this magical era with an impressive lineup of guest stars. Joining Schenker on this journey are Derek Sherinian on keys, Brian Tichy on drums, and Barry Sparks on bass.

FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY is thrilled to share ‘Hostage‘, the lead single from their forthcoming album The Nothing That Is. Fans can watch the new music video (directed by Eric Richter) now below.
The band shares: “‘Hostage’ is an examination of the human trauma and grief one carries through life. The inability to escape events of the past combined with the feeling of an increasingly dark future can weigh on a person like nothing else. This song is intended to capture that complex and overwhelming emotion and conveys the negative side of a sorrowed existence.”
In addition to announcing their new album, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY recently shared details of their European headline run. Featuring special guests SYLOSIS, DARKEST HOUR and HERIOT, the tour kicks off on November 22nd in London, UK.
Venice death metallers MEMBRANCE drop the video for “Spirar nel Caigo”. The song is taken from their latest album “Undead Island”, released in June 2023 via Extreme Metal Music.
The band commented: “‘Spirar nel caigo’ means dying in the fog. Back in the day, the poorest and least fortunate lagoon fishermen, rowing in search of a good place to fish in the colder months, often found themselves overwhelmed by the arrival of the fog. Looking for food for themselves and their families without getting lost became the real challenge, but many people who were disoriented and exhausted from fatigue never found their way home”.
MEMBRANCE were created in 2012 as a death metal project by Davide Lazzarini, but they began their proper activity in 2015, with the completion of the band’s line-up. After some personnel changes, the group released the first album “Abyss” in 2017 (Envenomed Music) and the sophomore “Morality’s Collapse” in 2019 (Envenomed Music/Narcoleptica Productions), developing a sound strongly influenced by the groove of the Scandinavian HM2 driven death’n’roll.
In 2023, with the “Undead Island” full-length (Extreme Metal Music / Rockshot Records), the band finally introduced more prominent Venetian themes, references to the ancient local folklore and the current social situation in their lyrics, developing a more personal concept. The new songs are more compact and tighter, showcasing an old school death sound with black and thrash metal influences.
In the last few years, the band also got more active on the live front: MEMBRANCE have become a well-known name in the local scene, sharing the stage with acts such as Entombed A.D., Benediction, Marduk, Brujeria and Gutalax, to name a few.

From the primordial screams of Mark and Asrunn, emerges a sonic riot that’s part berserker brawl, part rave from Valhalla itself. “Viking War Trance” is an anthem for the wild, untamed spirits dancing on the edge of Ragnarök. With the raw power and primal beats of ancient Norse warriors, fused with the electrifying chaos of modern trance, this track smashes the past into the future like Thor swinging his hammer.

Many bands have explored the Pagan & Norse worlds over the last 15 years seeking atmospheric, acoustic and ritual sounds with great seriousness. This is not the path EIHWAR chose.
Although the musicians of Eihwar are virtuosos in their acoustic traditional instruments, their goal is to bring some fun… and as much chaos as possible during their concerts, provoking the craziest trance on dancefloors. They bring a festive and furious neo-viking music whose primal force is based on technoid machines, mixed with trance vocals, shamanic drums and traditional Nordic sounds. Electronics are a ‘new steel’ for those modern warriors, cold and powerful. As the web already says, the duo is a kind of new ‘Viking Carpenter Brut’.
Thus, Eihwar named the single, the album but also their style of music ‘Viking War Trance’.
