“‘Blood Vultures’, the title track of the forthcoming Jewel Throne debut album is a story about the price of carelessness. One can trust no one in this world. Jewel Throne was formed as a trio in May 2019 by bassist-vocalist Mika Sallanen, the other members being guitarist Jari Yrjänäinen and drummer Jouni Kurikka. All were already very experienced with lots of bands, demos and a few albums already in their CV’s since all had begun their adventures in music already back in the late 80´s/early 90´s. The first lineup released three EP´s in quick succession. These simple thrash metal releases should now be considered as mere rough sketches of what was to come later.

It was time to add two more musicians – guitarist Toni Koskinen and vocalist Jesse Huovinen, and Jewel Throne mark II was born. Musically the band improved a lot with this change. This lineup released a bunch of singles and an EP ‘Obscure Relics’, which was also released as a tape by Fetusvomit Records. After this it was decided that it was time for the original guitar player to leave the band.

Now as a four-piece, Jewel Throne mark III moved on. They released two singles and an EP ‘Illiterati’ – a release vastly superior to anything they had achieved so far. So now it was the time to decide what to do next. The band had lots of songs ready, so it was decided to jump head first into the unknown and record their debut album. The recording sessions started in Easter 2023. The band entered the studio with 20 songs out of which 17 songs ended up being recorded.

All in all, the recordings took a bit longer than expected due to various issues, but in early spring 2024 the band had a finished product in their hands. ‘Blood Vultures’ was born – an album of 12 highly energetic and angry thrash/death metal songs. It was time to search for a record label, and in June 2024 the band signed with Inverse Records.

Line-up:
Jesse Huovinen – vocals
Toni Koskinen – guitars
Mika Sallanen – bass/vocals
Jouni Kurikka – drums

Formed in the summer of 2019, The Lonely Ones are a four piece, vocal-oriented hard rock band with an ear for melody and a taste for success. The group features Marty McCoy on guitar / vocals, Tommy Johnson on drums, Jymmy Tolland on guitar / vocals and Tru Roberts on bass / vocals. Being no strangers to the hardships of the music industry, The Lonely Ones consist of former members of Bobaflex. Together, they knew what they wanted and knew how to get it; by combining their knowledge and experiences to achieve a common goal. With determined perseverance and an energized drive to triumph, they were ready to release their first two singles independently in March of 2020; with the titles “Eternal Sadness” and “The Lonely One.”

A few months after their initial introduction to the world of rock, the band decided to take a major leap of faith and release their re-imagined version of Queen’s classic song “Flash.” There’s always the risk of scrutiny and criticism when it comes to covering classic songs, especially ones that are still regarded with high praise from the still thriving fan base, but the band was confident their rendition would not only honor the original but also garner renewed attention for the hit theme. Any doubts were squashed when the song and video were met with rave reviews, including those of Brian May from Queen and Sam J. Jones, Flash Gordon himself.

Brian May was quoted as saying, “What a fantastic cover! I didn’t realize they were going to go into The Hero and the whole reprise … magnificent!”

Sam J Jones adds, “This is one of the best covers I have ever heard and seen. What a gifted group – The Lonely Ones are for every one of us, from the 1980’s to right now!”

Humbled by the response from fans, listeners and legends in the entertainment industry, the band was spurred on in their pursuit to create groundbreaking original music. In September of 2020, The Lonely Ones released another brand new single titled “Real Big Trouble.” What started out as a fun and creative session quickly turned out to be one of their most rewarding. This is one of the heaviest songs the band has ever written, but it also gives a look into what sounds inspire them, such as Thin Lizzy and Beartooth.

By February of 2021, the band had signed on with Imagen Records and released another single called “Change the Station.” This release had 9 active rock stations add the single in the first week and they were a feature artist on Spotify’s Rock Hard editorial playlist as well as over 100 other playlists in the first week as well.

The next release through Imagen was “Dyin’ All Night Long” in June of 2021. A song about an abusive relationship and how often times excuses are made over and over for that person. The lyrics come from the perspective of a victim having had enough of it.

The band released two more singles titled “Gettin’ High” (2021) and “The Way Out” (2022) via Imagen Records before ultimately going independent.
The band spent the summer of 2022 getting back to the grind and writing new songs. The Lonely Ones’ released “Bedroom Door” in October of 2022.

The Lonely Ones have played shows with Sevendust, Nonpoint, Fozzy, Royal Bliss, Seven Year Witch, Black Top Mojo, September Mourning and many more.

In addition, the band is endorsed by: Orange Amps, Westone Audio, Pearl Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Evan’s Heads, Vater Sticks, Ibanez, Frog Amplification, Tech 21 Amplification, Michael Kelly Guitars, SIT Strings, Rare Buzz Effects and Strüng, which is guitar string jewelry that raises money for music education.

BRIMSTONE Join Soundtrack in Upcoming Aussie Biker Film “Patched”

Extreme Management Group and Aussie metal/rock band BRIMSTONE are absolutely stoked and honoured to announce that the band will have 2 tracks featuring in the upcoming Australian Biker Film Patched!

BRIMSTONE has contributed their single “Cometh The Iceman” from our upcoming release via Art Gates Records and also “Level Ground” from a previous release.

“Patched is the story of what happens when people are pushed too far. Do they just lay down or do they stand up and push back and fight for what is right? Many Biker style films portray outlaws as criminals, well just maybe this film will show the true nature of brotherhood.”

As both keen motorcycle enthusiasts BRIMSTONE could not be happier to be involved in such a gritty, real and heart-felt Australian film.

The challenges and hardships that Director Colin Dixon (Spida) has endured to make this iconic cult film a reality is something to behold.
He has literally endured and survived raging bushfires, flash flooding and the Pandemic whilst putting this movie together. All the while – staying focused and pushing forward to show true Australian spirit, dedication and determination.

Check out the Trailer here:

Release date of “Patched” TBA.

Former CACTUS Vocalist JIMMY KUNES + TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Guitaris ANGUS CLARK Team Up for THE KUNES CLARK BAND, Release First Single ‘Step Up Step Up’

The Kunes Clark Band is singer/songwriter Jimmy Kunes (Cactus, Savoy Brown, Humble Pie) and guitarist/songwriter Angus Clark (Cher, Joe Lynn Turner, Trans-Siberian Orchestra). The two musicians have known each other for nearly two decades and have performed together in numerous projects in and around New York City. Now they decided to take care of some unfinished business and make an album of material, some brand new, and some based on material they demoed 14 years ago. Rounding out the lineup for this album are drummer Van Romaine (Steve Morse Band) and bassist Winston Roye (Soul Asylum), along with keyboardists Rob Clores (The Black Crowes) and John Deley (David Johansen).

The band has just released their first single “Step Up Step Aside” and singer Jimmy Kunes had this to say about it, “Man gets jilted by girl. A possible ultimatum has been delivered. Man does exactly what he shouldn’t do and goes out on the town. Man wakes up groggily to find that the girl hasn’t stepped up, she’s stepped aside. To allow for more futile wasted nights out on the town. Los endos.” Guitarist Angus Clark continues, “It’s a tale of two Jimmies – Kunes and Hendrix! The main guitar riff owes a lot to Hendrix, but the way I’m jumping octaves in it comes from some of Kunes’ signature vocal acrobatics. That’s how we bounce off each other in the writing process. I love the energy on this tune, it reminds me of Thin Lizzy.”

Listen here: https://push.fm/fl/JYZ2Thep

Their self-titled debut album is a powerhouse of straight-ahead rock and roll and is sure to please fans of Led Zeppelin, the Black Crowes, and Rival Sons. From the rocking “Step Up Step Aside” and “Release Yourself” to the stripped-down “Cross To Bear”. The album drops on August 30th and the band will celebrate with a record release party on September 4th at the Bitter End in NYC.

Kunes Clark Band will be available on CD and limited-edition vinyl and signed bundles.
