Last year saw the release of “Sadistic Nightmares”, the second album by northern German rock’n’roll/speed/thrashers Intöxicated. If you follow the guys on their social media channels, you might have noticed that the quintet has been back in the Soundlodge Studio in the meantime.

However, there is no new longplayer in sight yet, but there is an EP, which is expected to be released exclusively on vinyl towards the end of the year. Until then, you can already get a first taste with “Red Light Ripper” – available now on all common download and streaming platforms!

ALAN DAVEY & DANNY FAULKNER Team Up for Another Addictive Album “Old Habits Die Hard” from Their HAWKESTREL Presents PRE-MED Project

Posted by metalshockfinland on July 16, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: ALAN DAVEY, Danny Faulkner, HAWKESTREL PRESENTS PRE-MED. Leave a comment

Get ready for another heady trip into the outer reaches of cosmically-inspired progressive rock with the brand new studio album from Pre-Med, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Danny Faulkner and featuring former Hawkwind bassist and current Hawkestrel mastermind Alan Davey. Old Habits Die Hard is the fifth official full-length collaboration from these musical pioneers, and offers the duo a chance to bring their decades-long musical experience to bear on what surely ranks as one of the most adventurous releases of their long careers.

Pre-Med’s kinetic brand of spacey, progressive rock includes lush, swirling synths
backed with walls of searing guitar work and thunderous bass grooves to create an
unforgettable musical maelstrom. This outing seeks to combine the group’s experimental tendencies with strong, memorable songs for a well-rounded artistic effort. From the explosive opening track and its fist-pumping chorus to the band’s surprisingly deft cover of Linkin Park’s “One More Light” to the haunting title track, Old Habits is poised to push both Faulkner and Davey well out of their comfort zones and into uncharted musical territory.

Davey proclaims, “This new Pre-Med album has us in the band all complimenting each other on their individual performances. Musically, we have gone up a level and without doubt ‘Old Habits Die Hard’ has the best production of all our albums to date!”

Faulkner adds, “It’s been a rollercoaster to get this record to its fruition, but I think it’s definitely our best yet. There’s glimpses of the older records, but there’s also a lot of new avenues that we’ve explored together. I’m very proud of everyone in the band, and thankful for all the hard work that they, and Cleopatra have put into this. Up The Meds!”

REVENGIN Sign with Wormholedeath And Drop ‘Circle of Mistakes’ Single + Video

Brace yourselves, metalheads! Hailing from Brazil, female-fronted symphonic metal sensation REVENGIN is thrilled to announce their signing with Wormholedeath Records for the release of their highly anticipated new album, ‘Dark Dogma Embrace’, set to drop in early 2025. More details on this groundbreaking release will be revealed soon.

Formed in 2008 by a collective of seasoned musicians hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Revengin is here to melt your face with their brand of symphonic brutality.

To celebrate this monumental signing, the band unleashes their first single, “Circle of Mistakes,” a sonic masterpiece that serves as a powerful introduction to the forthcoming album.

“Circle of Mistakes” explores the duality we all carry within ourselves, the denial of our flaws that keeps us trapped in a self-perpetuating cycle of negativity.

“Circle of Mistakes” is available now on all major digital platforms. Don’t miss this chance to experience a genre-bending masterpiece!

A Journey of Liberation

“Circle of Mistakes” is an anthem for self-awareness. Heavy, pummeling verses lay the foundation for a soaring, powerful chorus that lays bare the complexities of human nature. The song is a call to confront our weaknesses, for it’s only through acceptance that we can truly break free. The track’s closing section beautifully reflects this liberation, a soul unburdened from the shackles that held it back, ready to embrace its full potential.

“Circle of Mistakes” was meticulously crafted through a collaborative effort between Revengin, the talented Caio Mendonça, and Rômulo Pirozzi. The track was recorded at the legendary Tellus Studio (home to recordings by Onslaught, Ektomorf, and Borknagar), with mixing and mastering handled by the masterful Caio Mendonça.

Visually Stunning Accompaniment

The song’s emotional depth is further amplified by the stunning music video for “Circle of Mistakes.” Scripted by Bruna Rocha and brought to life by director Felipe Borges, the video utilizes a striking color scheme of cyan and amber to symbolize human duality. Shadows and smoke weave a tapestry of emotional intensity, perfectly complementing the song’s lyrical themes. The band’s passionate performance further elevates the viewing experience.

Seasoned Warriors of the Metal Realm

Revengin has already established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the global heavy metal scene. They’ve toured extensively across Europe and South America, leaving audiences in awe in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Netherlands, Germany, and Argentina. Their impressive festival appearances include the legendary Rock in Rio, where they shared the stage with titans like Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, and Gojira.

The current lineup of Revengin features the formidable Bruna Rocha (vocals), the gutturally gifted Thiago Contrera (guitar), the shredding Themys Barros (guitar), the groove master Diego Pirozzi (bass), and the powerhouse Nacife jr (drums).

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT Unleash New Single + Music Video ‘The Ballad of Jon Milwaukee’

Posted by metalshockfinland on July 16, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LORDS OF THE TRIDENT. Leave a comment

Following the announcement of their new EP, ‘V.G.E.P’. out on October 1st, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT returns with the second single from the release, “The Ballad of Jon Milwaukee.” The new track is accompanied by a music video which is available below.

Frontman Fang VonWrathenstein explains:
“This EP is all about our favorite video games, and one of my favorites is a motorcycle racing game called ‘Road Rash’. We played it on our weekly Twitch gaming stream for many weeks, and when it came time to choose a character, we of course selected the character with the most Wisconsin street cred: Jon Milwaukee! As we played the game, the chat made up a bunch of lore about our bike-racing character, much of which made it into the lyrics of the game. When we were shooting the video, I knew I wanted to have real-life bikers involved, so I asked a friend to help me make introductions with a local gang. A bunch of cases of beer and a couple of bottles of Costco bourbon later, we had a date set up for the shoot. What I didn’t know was that the gang had scheduled a large rally of all of the surrounding gangs to coincide with our filming! We had over 200 bikers at this rally (although unfortunately, a large chunk of them didn’t want to appear on camera). We spent the day riding, drinking, and rocking out, and I think we became honorary members of the gang. Well, at least our biker personas did!”

The EP made its “sudden drop” as an exclusive release for LORDS OF THE TRIDENT’s Patreon supporters.

Anyone who pledges $5 or more to the LORDS OF THE TRIDENT Patreon gets immediate access to download the full EP and the band’s last four albums, 25+ live albums, 10+ singles, and more!

About LORDS OF THE TRIDENT

Born from a volcano containing metal and steel, Fang VonWrathenstein‘s immortal quest was to assemble a band of the most metal warriors imaginable. After thousands of years and multiple bandmates captured or killed by the shadowy multinational group known as SPIDR, the LORDS OF THE TRIDENT are currently in their strongest lineup yet: Fang – whose voice will randomly set microphones ablaze – on lead vocals. The wrongfully disgraced aristocrat-turned-sellsword Baron Taurean Helleshaar on lead guitar. The shadowy master of samurai subterfuge Akira Metal on lead guitar. The high priest of death, Pontifex Mortis, on lead bass. And the animal-loving, percussively proficient Master Hercule “Herc” Schlagzeuger on the lead drums. Together, these warriors roam the lands in search of ever greater battles, more lustrous loot, and the strongest of heavy metal fans to join their metal army!
