Connecticut melodic/melancholic death metal troupe FIRES IN THE DISTANCE will release their Circadian Promise full-length on June 12th via Prosthetic Records
With their third album, the band has elevated their melancholy, synth-embroidered signature to cathartic new heights. Circadian Promise is virtuosic yet visceral, progressive but always authentic, confirming FIRES IN THE DISTANCE as rising genre standouts.
“Our music stems from raw feeling,” said founding guitarist and songwriter Yegor Savonin. “Each new record depicts a different experience and time period in our lives, with which the sound and atmospherics evolve and reflect this as well.”
Originally conceived as a Savonin solo project in 2016, within four years, FIRES IN THE DISTANCE evolved into a full live band. Their acclaimed 2020 debut album for Prosthetic Records, Echoes From Deep November, was followed three years later by Air Not Meant For Us, a record that fused the band’s modern melodic death metal with elegantly orchestrated arrangements and rich storytelling.
Following a high-profile 2024 North American tour with Dark Tranquillity and Amorphis, FIRES IN THE DISTANCE reunited with longtime producer Dave Kaminsky and orchestration maestro Randy Slaugh (Tesseract, Devin Townsend) to craft Circadian Promise. Featuring new vocalist/guitarist Brendan Hayter, the album is without question FIRES IN THE DISTANCE’s bleakest and most embracing to date, constantly engaging and filler-free despite some of its six tracks running over nine minutes.
“This album is a little bit darker than the others,” explains Savonin. “It delves into the concept of spiritual death and losing your soul while still living and explores the existential concepts of accepting and coming to terms with and embracing the bleaker side of realities which we will all face at one point or another.”
Dark Horse Prophet (DHP) have released their new single “Confessions” via TLG|ZOID, distributed by Virgin Music Group.
Heavy. Atmospheric. Unrelenting. DHP occupies the space where alternative metal sharpens its edge into something undeniably modern: massive low-end, dual-guitar precision, and a vocal presence that fills arenas and club floors alike. Music built on weight, melody, and the kind of groove that locks a crowd in place and does not let go.
“Confessions” is the lead single from Dark Horse Prophet. It is an alternative metal track built around emotional weight, the things left unsaid, and the moment before you say them out loud.
The song is intended for listeners who carry something heavy. It was written to articulate what most people cannot put into words. The music video deepens that intent with visual treatment of every line.
In addition to the release, Dark Horse Prophet have been confirmed for Milwaukee Metal Fest 2026, marking the band’s largest domestic festival slot to date.
Dark Horse Prophet is a Los Angeles alternative metal force built on equal parts weight and atmosphere. Thunderous riffs, commanding vocals, and the kind of groove that does not let go. Their sound lives at the collision point of modern metal’s precision and alternative metal’s emotional depth: punishing, melodic, and completely uncompromising.
With coast-to-coast US tours, back-to-back European runs supporting Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, and support slots alongside Ill Nino across Mexico and the UK, DHP has proven themselves on some of the most demanding stages in heavy music. Every night is a full-commitment performance. Every release pushes the boundary further. Dark Horse Prophet is not chasing the heavy-music conversation. They are leading it.
The band also holds seven major gear endorsements, including Dean Guitars, ddrum, Yamaha, and Line 6, further cementing their presence as a rising force in the alternative metal world.

Austin-based singer/songwriter and powerhouse guitarist Emily Wolfe returns with her new single “Lips,” featuring Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, available now through Judge & Jury Records. The track marks Wolfe’s first single from her forthcoming new album, exuding an equal amount of chemistry and swagger. Combining the swing of 70s rock with the cockiness of the 80s, the hyper-defined production from Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace, Barenaked Ladies, Metric) gives the song enough clarity to feel fresh and modern in 2026.
“This song feels like a full circle moment for me”, says Wolfe. “I grew up loving Eagles of Death Metal, so getting to write and watch Jesse Hughes sing this with me was surreal. It’s what happens when you find yourself creating alongside someone who shaped you, and realize they’re just as hungry to make something dangerous as you are. Writing it with Jesse was electric, and alongside producer Gavin Brown, we created something that’s familiar in all the right ways, but still has the bite of older rock records.”
Wolfe credits Hughes not only as a collaborator, but as a mentor in the studio, guiding her through her first-ever in-studio collaboration with another artist. A fan of Hughes since high school, Wolfe describes the experience as one of the most formative creative moments of her career.
Already an established force in rock, Wolfe has spent 13+ years building her reputation as a guitar-driven artist with millions of streams and major media recognition including The Wall Street Journal, MTV, Guitar Player, Paste, and American Songwriter. Her original song “Atta Blues” has surpassed 2 million streams on Spotify, further solidifying her growing global audience.
A proud Gibson partner, Wolfe has two signature guitar models created in her name. She also shares Gibson signature Epiphone status with Adam Jones (TOOL), a connection that may lead to Wolfe co-writing with Jones in the future. Wolfe was personally asked by the CEO of Gibson Guitars if she wanted to open for TOOL, later discovering that Jones was already a fan of her work.
Emily Wolfe has released three records, toured internationally, and shared stages with major acts including The Gaslight Anthem, TOOL, All Them Witches, and more.
In support of the new single, Wolfe will be hitting the road throughout 2026 with a stacked run of high-profile performances. She will be supporting YUNGBLUD and The Warning for multiple shows in May, appearing alongside The Mountain Goats and The Menzingers at Sing Us Home Festival in May, and performing at Frank Turner’s festival in September. Additional tour announcements are expected soon.
“Emily Wolfe is great! We’re excited to have her join the IDOLS tour,” says Yungblud.

The acclaimed American hard rock band TESLA is proud to announce their new album, ‘Homage,’ set for release on July 17, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl. Marking a full-circle moment in their storied career, the album finds the band returning to their roots with a collection of covers honoring some of rock’s most timeless hits.
To offer fans a taste of what to expect on ‘Homage,’ TESLA shares their cover of Climax Blues Band’s iconic track, “I Love You” (2026 Version). The new single arrives alongside an official video, available to view below.
The band comments:
“‘I Love You,’ like all the tracks on ‘Homage,’ not only pays tribute to legends but gives us a chance to showcase our lead singer’s diversity as well as the musical dynamics we learned as a band many years ago.”
It is remarkable to reflect on the more than 40 years since TESLA began as a cover band performing in California nightclubs before going on to write and record original material and sell millions of albums.
Much like their musical heroes — The Beatles and The Rolling Stones—artists who honed their craft by performing songs from those who came before them, TESLA followed a similar path in their early years and continues to embrace the tradition of paying tribute through cover songs today.
‘Homage,’ the band’s upcoming album, not only honors legendary artists but also provides an opportunity to showcase lead singer Jeff Keith’s vocal diversity. The album stands as a thank-you expressed through music, an offering to the iconic voices and songs that shaped the band’s influences and, ultimately, their own songwriting.
‘Homage’ is not about imitation, but acknowledgment, tracing the line from influence to identity, from listening to becoming. The project also arrives more than 20 years after the ‘Real to Reel’ series, a release that helped inspire the creation of a new original TESLA song, “Never Alone.”
The selected songs on ‘Homage’ were chosen for a variety of reasons, primarily representing some of the greatest vocalists of all time, including Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, Etta James, and James Brown. Additional selections reflect songs the band grew up hearing on the radio and on their turntables.
On the upcoming album, TESLA shares:
“Our new album ‘Homage’ is a thank-you note written in sound. An offering to the great singers and songs that shaped the music we grew up listening to, and the songs we would eventually write. We hope you all enjoy this as much as we did making it. Thank you for all the years – Keep it Real and Keep On Rockin’!”

Chilean death metal cult icons GODLESS are set to unleash their highly anticipated new full-length, “Adversus Parousia”, on June 6th, 2026 via Nuclear Winter Records. The album will be available on LP, CD, and cassette, marking the return of a band whose legacy in the underground has been quietly monumental since their formation.
The first single “Omega Omnipotens: Hosanna in Nullificatio” is now streaming HERE.
Since their inception in 1997, GODLESS have operated with an unwavering devotion to the darkest corners of death metal. Long before Chile’s scene garnered international attention, the band forged their path, crafting music of uncompromising intensity. Composed of seasoned veterans, GODLESS have always approached their work with meticulous care, and “Adversus Parousia” is the culmination of years of patient refinement.
The new album demonstrates a rigorous adherence to traditional death metal principles, yet its execution is anything but predictable. Every riff and atmospheric detail is carefully considered, resulting in a sound where weight and nuance coexist in perfect balance. Tracks crawl and coil with a pitch-black intensity, yet subtle dynamics emerge, revealing layers of depth beneath the surface of the oppressive, obsidian-toned compositions. The music exudes a solemnity that only true masters of the craft can orchestrate, commanding attention with its ceremonial gravity.
Following a nine-year silence since their last EP, “Omega Omnipotens”, GODLESS return with a work that challenges both themselves and their listeners. “Adversus Parousia” embodies fidelity to the ethos of death metal, eschewing pretension for a direct confrontation with darkness and dissolution. The album fuses trance-like momentum, fervent aggression and an unwavering sense of transgression, producing an experience that is as merciless as it is mesmerizing.
With “Adversus Parousia”, GODLESS reaffirm their position as architects of Chilean underground death metal, presenting a record that is simultaneously complete, refined and uncompromising. For those attuned to the gravest depths of the genre, this release promises a profound, immersive encounter with the essence of death metal at its most solemn and potent.
Witness the return of pure hostility.
For fans of: Immolation, Morbid Angel, Dead Congregation, Drawn And Quartered

Solo pagan black metal project SERPENT LORD will be releasing its debut album, ‘The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,’ on May 29, 2026 via Eisenwald Records. The project has debuted the haunting first single, “Aries Ram,” can now be streamed via Bandcamp HERE.
SERPENT LORD first slithered into existence in 2003, emerging as a solitary pagan black metal vessel forged by Jake Superchi (UADA, Ceremonial Castings). Though the project’s first true album was recorded in 2005, the work was abruptly shelved and lay dormant for twenty years. Now, in the Year of the Snake, the ancient offering has been reborn and reimagined as ‘The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,’ preserving every note of its primordial conception.
The album was re-recorded in the cold heart of the Pacific Northwest between 2022 and 2025, engineered and mixed by Jake Superchi, and mastered by Arthur Rizk. The release features new artwork and the original logo created by Kris Verwimp, along with photography by Peter Beste.
Originally formed over two decades ago, SERPENT LORD existed largely in the shadows, issuing only a handful of demos before entering an extended period of dormancy. Yet, the creative force behind the project never faded. Ideas, fragments, and compositions endured across the years, shelved for the right moment, only fully taking shape and being realized in the Year of the Snake, when the vision was finally forged into its definitive form.
Early demo material already hinted at what SERPENT LORD would become: a severe balance between melodic grandeur and unrestrained aggression, with transitions between atmosphere and brutality, produced to enhance rather than obscure its intensity.
Founded by Jake Superchi (known for its creative force in UADA and CEREMONIAL CASTINGS), SERPENT LORD channels the spirit of ’90s pagan black metal. The album stands as a triumphant and immersive work – melodic, fierce, and steeped in ritualistic energy. Expansive riffing, evocative passages, and a dynamic interplay between harsh and atmospheric elements, both timeless and fully awakened.
The album was recorded and mixed by Jake Superchi, and mastered by Arthur Rizk, achieving a sound that retains raw edge while delivering clarity and depth. The cover artwork, created by Kris Verwimp, along with photography by Peter Beste, further underscoring the album’s mythical and arcane atmosphere.
With ‘The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,’ SERPENT LORD emerges from decades of silence with a work that fulfills the promise of its early recordings; it’s an album shaped by time, and driven by an uncompromising vision of black metal.
