Italian Progressive Post-Rockers STRANIA Reveal First Details of Upcoming Debut Album “Acceptance”

Italian progressive post-rockers STRANIA will release their debut album “Acceptance” on October 18th via Diotima Records! Today the band reveals the first details of their first opus, alongside the tracklisting.

The band shared:
“Our first album, “Acceptance”, is a collection of songs composed between spring 2021 and early 2023 and revolves around the personification of nature and the conflictual relationship between mankind and nature herself, whose role constantly shifts from being a saviour and merciful mother to that of a cruel and destructive entity in the eyes of man.
We recorded the instrumental parts of the album at “La Fucina Studio” between April and May of 2023. Not having an official singer during that period, the vocals were recorded between June and July of the same year by four local singers, each singing on one of the songs, thus giving every piece a certain feel thanks to their different styles and musical backgrounds. All the tracks were mixed and mastered at the same studio by the end of the summer.
The hard work, patience and sacrifice that went into the composition (often troubled and complex) and the recording of this album are rewarded by our trust and love toward music as a whole, and we hope that “Acceptance” and our future works can reach and inspire as many people as possible.”

September 13th, STRANIA unleashed the first single ‘Metempsychosis’, from the debut album, featuring Mattia Braghero as guest vocalist.

The band on ‘Metempsychosis’:
“Metempsychosis is a song that tells the story of an old man who ventures into the woods to reunite with Mother Nature in his final moments, allowing her to take care of his body and soul. As he walks deeper into the forest, he feels observed by the surrounding trees, which are the reincarnations of those who, like him, sought final peace in that place.”

STRANIA is an Italian progressive post-rock band, formed in the province of Florence by Andrea Borgioli, Mattia Nicolini and Giacomo Bracci in the summer of 2019. The band reached its current four-piece lineup in late summer 2022.

The members of the band have a very heterogeneous musical culture, but the meeting point between them is highlighted in the post-rock genre, which leaves a lot of expressive and compositional freedom to the group. In fact, all the songs are composed in a collective creative process in the rehearsal room, which can sometimes even last whole day sessions, taking care of the smallest detail.

With this in mind, leaders of civilization are divided in control methods deployed through various mechanisms, some for the sake of humanity and some for the sake of interests that don’t necessarily benefit humanity. The sum total of the entire apparatus then reaches a boiling point, after which time agendas are revealed.
On a much higher level exists that which lies beyond the five senses, beyond the science and materialism matrix. Many sacred texts worthy of protection by the people have endured while existing in relative obscurity as allegory. The knowledge gets passed down through generational cycles and ultimately makes visible that collective connection in all the world and all of us. SWALLOW THE SUN recently announced details surrounding their eagerly awaited new album SHINING out October 18th. The new record is produced and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me the Horizon, Muse, Enter Shikari, etc.), mastered by Tony Lindgren (Fascination Street Studios) and recorded by Juho Räihä at SoundSpiral Audio, except vocals recorded by Dan Lancaster.

In the midst of their stacked headline “Decade of the Swarm” Tour, Pittsburgh, PA Deathcore unit SIGNS OF THE SWARM have dropped new single IWONTLETYOUDIE — their first original music since 2023’s breakout LP “Amongst the Low & Empty”. The new song was once again produced by Josh Schroeder, whose subwoofer HAS been replaced since that album blew it on its would-be first full in-studio playback. Rumor has it he’s treating listening sessions of IWONTLETYOUDIE with caution—something the band didn’t do while writing the song.

“IWONTLETYOUDIE‘ marks the beginning of a new chapter for SIGNS OF THE SWARM: a story of an endless cycle of death and resurrection,” reveals SIGNS OF THE SWARM drummer and main songwriter Bobby Crow. “We like to use the time between albums to explore new ideas and sounds. “For me COMFORTABLY NUMB is an introspective song — it’s me acknowledging that I’m older now. I’m telling the younger generation, you’ve got two choices: you can keep the fire burning or you can give up. It’s me trying to make sense of what’s happening, but also pointing out that we’re all in a place where we don’t have to face reality. We’ve got flat-screen TVs and popcorn, and we can just sit back and watch the chaos of the world like it’s a TV show. It doesn’t feel real until it shows up at your door. I’m a little numb, too — we all are.”

“BODY COUNT‘s version of COMFORTABLY NUMB is quite radical, but the words really struck me. It astonishes me that a tune I wrote almost 50 years ago is back with this great new approach. They’ve made it relevant again. The initial contact from Ice-T was for permission to use the song, but I thought I might offer to play on it as well. I like the new lyrics, they’re talking about the world we’re living in now, which is quite scary. Ice-T and Body Count played in London recently, sadly I couldn’t make it, but if another opportunity came up to play with them, I’d jump at it.”

Portland, Oregon’s UNTO OTHERS spent their seasons in the abyss and arise from the other side with their third full-length NEVER, NEVERLAND.

To celebrate NEVER, NEVERLANDs release, UNTO OTHERS  have shared an electrifying performance video for album single “SUICIDE TODAY“. Gabriel Franco comments, “The song is about bad decisions, and how they can proliferate into a hard life, or a sad death. Living in a big city, you see a lot of sadness and despair. So much you can bathe in it if you want. I used to be fascinated with these things, and it comes out in a lot of our music. But I as I get older I am more interested in the silver linings that surround it all. The beauty of someone lending a helping hand, or a simple kind gesture. These are the ways one person can make a difference. ‘SUICIDE TODAY ‘ is a positive song. I hope someone who needs it can take something from it worthwhile.“
