Released today on the Tragedy Productions/End My Life Records roster, No Clean Singing presents an exclusive stream of “Faded.exe”, the haunting new LP from Mexican post-black metal act THE DEPRESSICK. Stream the album atTHIS LOCATION.
The record shows a broadening in the scope in their sound, packing in even more brooding melodies, eerie howls, whirlwind drumming, and a tightening of the band’s signature songwriting chops. Constantly maintaining the subtle balance between light and melancholy, soaring atmospherics and granite riffs, THE DEPRESSICK deliver their sonic rebirth in fifty minutes of a grippingly emotional experience. “Faded.exe” definitely marks another step forward for the band, incorporating new suggestions into their visceral sound that bleeds raw emotion.
THE DEPRESSICK is a Mexican Post-DSBM band formed in 2013. Based in Nezahualcoyotl a densely populated and historically impoverished suburb of Mexico City with considerable stigma attached to it. The “negativity, misery, poverty, sickness and filth” of their environment contributes to their music’s bleakness.

On August 15th, Australian doom entity MEKIGAH will release their new album, “To Hold Onto A Heartless Heart“, through Aesthetic Death. Having already shared the track “Collapsing Under” – now streaming at THIS LOCATION– today the band give a new preview with “Broken Rhythm Pressure”. The song is now premiering at Decibel Magazine. Stream it HERE.
The fifth MEKIGAH full length album is a purposely designed ugly, drawn out, raw, awkward journey. There’s no attempt or desire to either embrace the slow slow doom, to aggressively technically impress or to build upon previous motifs.
Everything is caught between worlds, as MEKIGAH itself is caught between worlds. Nothing is where it belongs as things are uncomfortably forced together through the sheer necessity of only gaining satisfaction via sonic self sabotage and harm, creating audial-mazes to which then have to delicately navigated through. “I trade in uncertainty and superstition and cant. I invent dark visions of impossible situations that can never be resolved” – Ralph Steadman
Heavily driven by basslines along with industrial, sparse, neanderthal drums. Guitars are featured heavily, but infrequently as riffs, more as screeching, wailing, floating walls of high frequency pain that are meshed with discordant piano lines – all this amidst the brief, but demented, freestyle vocal stabs and incoherent mournful chants.
Neither the gothic metal, nor the noise doom of previous releases, yet having slight nods to both in fleeting moments.
“To Hold Onto A Heartless Heart” can feel immensely detached & cold but somehow personal & emotional too. This is MEKIGAH evolving, following his own heart and creative vision.
More challenging than catchy or entertaining in any shape or form. Layers of sound to discover and uncover in detail on repeated listens. At other times there feels to be claustrophobic walls of noise that are impassable, impossible to make sense of but for the hope and glimpses of reason that are seen through the minimalist riffs and beats – simplistic, repetitive and drilled into your skull over and over again.
“What it’s all about”….. is far more dictated by however any individual interprets the music, or how it makes them feel. With any lyrical content, words & voice serving far more as an instrument or sound than expressing a storyline or emotion. Words on this album are minimal yet the confusion & loss that inspired them were huge.
Once again featuring long time collaborator guitarist Richard Ziltch and this time joined by Tasmanian underground metal legends Leigh Ritson (Disseminate, Thrall, Ruins) & Alex Pope (Ruins, Evil Dead) along with local experimental noise-mates Sova Locus, Primal Regression Therapy, Sydney Punk/Noise stalwart Con BCTW (Blurters, Milat, Impact Statement) and local arborist Sammy. Mastered by Greg Chandler and once again Aesthetic Death is honoured to be working together with MEKIGAH to release this on digi CD.

US / UK based cybergrind group THOTCRIME has today shared a new single and music video, titled Garden Court, featuring bagel rabbit. Garden Court is the third track to be taken from THOTCRIME‘s forthcoming third album, CONNECTION ANXIETY, due out via Prosthetic Records on August 16. The video features footage from the bands first ever full line-up headline US tour dates, filmed in June 2023.
Speaking on the single, Hayley Elizabeth (vocals) comments: “Garden Court is about drastic changes I’ve made in the last year, while also reflecting on the things I didn’t think I’d miss about Philadelphia as much as the big things I thought I would. It’s named after the beer store me and my friends would always go to down the street from my apartment to get snacks and ciders and sometimes breakfast sandwiches from. Learning they don’t have bodegas or papi stores like that out here in the midwest was a jarring realization, and I’ll never forget the memories I made getting odd European chocolates or Asian import snacks from that place.
“The song also, however, dictates that I’ve made my choices because I made a conscious effort to change my life regardless if it was for better or for worse. It personifies an inner fight between wanting to prove to yourself that you were right and wanting to shape your own reality despite it not seeming the way you wanted it to be.”
Garnering praise from outlets such as Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and Metal Injection, THOTCRIME’s sophomore effort, D1G1T4L_DR1FT, was the beginning of a self-actualization for the young band. Two albums under their belts and countless hours spent collaborating via online servers and the first ever full member line-up tour soon followed in the United States, with Hayley Elizabeth (vocals), Melody Jane (guitar) and Dottie Homler (drums) meeting co-founding member Les Beaux Plastiques (production) for the first time in person.
Affirming THOTCRIME’s evolution from a studio project into something altogether more tangible, writing for CONNECTION ANXIETY took place throughout 2023. With the group’s voracious creative appetite rarely letting up as things took a more collaborative turn on the production front as Elizabeth soon found herself taking on shared duties with Beau across the 10 songs. Homler also took the lead on all drum programming on hir final work with the band and Melody’s approach to guitar saw the use of live instrumentation compared to THOTCRIME’s previously digitally inclined tendencies.
THOTCRIME‘s propensity for whiplash-inducing breakdowns and edge of your seat blast beating is still there in songs such as We Hope Some Good May Come of This (feat. Bottom Surgery) and the title-track, whilst lead single The Wrong Way positively brims with saccharine hooks as Hayley posits “Is it wrong to try something new?” in a chorus fit for the most intoxicating of PC-Music artists.
Emancipating from past sores and pains is a necessary path of growth, which makes CONNECTION ANXIETY’s gravitation towards positivity and a warehouse rave informed sonic palette singular in its creators earnestness and sanguinity. Elizabeth’s heart-on-her-sleeve lyricism is less an abandon of THOTCRIME’s previous works fraughtness, so much as a perspective shift into the self-affirming and proactive.
Tied together by returning digital artist Yam Lynn, CONNECTION ANXIETY’s smile beneath the cracks rather than over them is a testament to resilience by way of dancing with and for those dearest.

Having two bassists blesses Ponte Del Diavolo with the devilish ability to bridge the gulch between two nefarious corners of the underground. On their debut album, the Italian death dealers channel the evil spirit of doom and black metal into a towering new wave of dark art. Fire Blades from the Tomb is as cruel and mesmerizing as their home country’s infamous Devil’s Bridge.
Fire Blades from the Tomb is out now on Season of Mist.
Watch Ponte Del Diavolo’s new bassist Kratom join his partner in crime Kruhura as they slither beneath the treacherous “La Razza”. Their furry companion might be immune to the band’s tricks, but this two-headed monster of a bass section will summon plenty of howls from faithful followers during the upcoming second leg of their European tour.

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO bridges the gap between two separate worlds.
The Italian band proposes a Doom / Black metal sound with old-school roots, adding a modern and outside the box background. The female voice – with strong dark wave influences – is the lyric corpus of this strongly esoteric project. The solid presence of two bassists creates the massive foundation for the rhythmic guitar, everything marked by a raw and dynamic drumming.
Mystery of Mystery / Secret Live Session marked the quintet’s debut EP. It was recorded live and without editing at Dracma Studio with the producer L’Ossario in their home base of Turin in March 2020.“I” was released on the web by Iopan Records. It was soon followed by their second single, “The Wickedest Woman In the World”.
At the end of 2021, Ponte Del Diavolo recorded their second EP, Sancta Menstruis at Deepest Sea Studio in Turin with Danilo Battocchio. The first single, “The Unborn”, arrived in February 2022.
The band’s third EP, Ave Scintilla!, was also recorded in Turin. This time around, they reconvened at Dracma Studio with L’Ossario.
Now that they’ve signed with Season of Mist, Ponte Del Diavolo are ready to release their debut album. Fire Blades From the Tomb forges classic, cultish doom metal with modern bents of post-punk. Lead single and opening track “Demone” is whipped along by a boiled black bass line and dark-wave induced vocals.
Guest Musicians Andrea l’Abbate – Synth on ‘Covenant’. Lucynine – Theremin on ‘Covenant’. Vittorio Sabelli – Clarinet on ‘Covenant’, ‘Red as the sex of She who lives in death’ & ‘Nocturnal veil’. Davide Straccione – Vocals on ‘The weeping song’.
DOOMRAISER captivate doom metal enthusiasts worldwide with the release of their electrifying new single “Last Christmas I Gave You My Death”. Stream the song HERE.
The band commented: “Death on Christmas Day is traumatic and destabilizing. On that special day, death is not contemplated. Christmas is birth, life, light and energy. For the loved ones who remain, death on this day changes the perspective of life and sweeps away that magic that has always gravitated around the festive period. Is it a joke of life, a freak of nature, an unexpected ‘surprise’? Whoever passes away on Christmas Day is welcomed directly by the new, magical light of winter, they are embraced by a dazzling new cycle. Death on Christmas day is sacred and holy! ‘Last Christmas I Gave You My Death’ is a complex and macabre song, the most intricate and dynamic of the entire new album. The song is a vortex of riffs, kaleidoscopic melodies intertwine with each other, until reaching the final electric funeral march!”.
Four years since the release of their critically acclaimed fifth album,“The Dark Side of Europa”, Italian doom metal forerunners DOOMRAISER return to the fray with their anthemic new album, “Cold Grave Marble” on 2nd October 2024 via Time To Kill Records.
The album was recorded and produced once again by Danilo Silvestri and the band, with artwork overseen by FabioListrani.
The first single “Dark Omens” is still available HERE.
“Cold Grave Marble”, the sixth DOOMRAISER full doom length, is a frozen view in the darker side of life: Death, the Omega of our earthly dimension. The album is made up of raw riffing seasoned up in heavy, dark and gloomy dreaming atmospheres, and explores a plethora of styles with different sounds and solutions. The songwriting approach is rougher than before, experimental, suggestive, still preserving the classic DOOMRAISER characteristic sound.
The whole concept lies upon a personal portrayal of Death, the Infinite Void, the Great Absence, the greatest experience in matter of Chaos and disruption of reality. It’s a journey exploring the end of the biological cycle and man’s awareness of the ancient idea of “having to die”, an extreme but natural event belonging to the inevitability of time.
The album was recorded in Rome, Italy, by the skillful hands of Danilo Silvestri and mastered (just like the previous album “The Dark Side of Old Europa”) by Claudio Gruer. The record features important guests such as James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament), Flegias (Necrodeath), Mario Di Donato (The Black), Nequam (The Magik Way, ex Mortuary Drape) among others.
