In this new setting, the song takes on an different character — its intimate, reflective core expanding into something more powerful and immersive on stage. Segla gains new weight in the live version, captured live at the Lafayette in London in the fall of 2024.

For many listeners, the Norwegian group Kalandra came to prominence for their captivating Nordic soundscapes in 2020 with the release of their debut The Line. From major festival appearances and extensive touring across Australia and Europe, the band has steadily built an incredible international reputation. Now, in 2026, the band reaches a milestone: 15 years of music, growth and creative evolution. The anniversary will be marked with the release of their first live album Live in London and their biggest Norwegian headline show to date at Rockefeller in Oslo the 18th of February.

Kalandra comments:
“We are excited to share a sneak peek from the performance with the release of a single track and video, “Segla”, a song that takes on a very different character live compared to the studio version. It was a special night for us: a sold-out show in London in the middle of a long European tour, with an amazing audience. We’re grateful that the moment was captured, and we feel the release reflects some of the energy we shared that night.

A limited number of physical vinyl copies of “Live in London” will be available exclusively for purchase at our concert at Rockefeller in Oslo on the 18th of February.”

Time has a quiet way of moving – celebrating 15 years of Kalandra

For many listeners, the Norwegian/Swedish group Kalandra came to prominence for their atmospheric and captivating Nordic soundscapes in 2020 with the release of their debut album The Line. Yet long before that breakthrough, the story was already taking shape — in rehearsal rooms, on intimate stages, and in songs that were written, rewritten, and sometimes left behind. From major festival appearances such as Hellfest to touring across Australia and Europe, and supporting artists including Heilung, Wardruna and Leprous, Kalandra have steadily built an international reputation. Now, in 2026, the band reaches a milestone: 15 years of music, growth and creative evolution.

The anniversary concert the 18th of February will feature special guests and guest musicians, as well as performances with both new material and fan favourites from across their 15-year career. On this special occation, a limited-edition vinyl of Live in London will be available exclusively on the night of the show, alongside new merchandise.

Kalandra began in 2011, when Katrine started the band while studying in Liverpool. The lineup shifted in the early days, but Jogeir joined later that same year, followed by Florian the year after. In those early Liverpool years, they played live almost every other week at open mics, band nights, and small venues, learning through repetition and persistence.

A turning point came with the EP Beneath the Breaking Waves, recorded at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. It marked a shift in intention — choosing to write music that spoke honestly to themselves rather than following any given path. Believing that honesty in creation might allow the music to find its own way forward. Not long after, the band returned to Norway, where Oskar Rydh joined and the lineup was completed — and has remained unchanged since.

Following the success of their debut album The Line and their atmospheric soundtrack for the video game Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands, Kalandra returned in 2024 with their second album A Frame of Mind. Drawing on years of collaboration and creative confidence, the record stands as their most expansive work to date — showcasing versatility and new dimensions of their sound while staying true to the immersive atmosphere that defines them.

Over time, the circle has widened. Through their acclaimed cover of Helvegen, two studio albums, collaborations with ByNorse and AISA, and with their extensive touring abroad: Kalandra’s music has travelled far beyond its Nordic roots and continues to expand their audience across the world. The band looks back on their 15 years with gratitude and reflects:

“What we built didn’t happen overnight, but step by step — shaped by trust, patience and a shared purpose. Over time, the music has found its way to more listeners, resonating in ways we could never have predicted. Thank you for listening, for staying, and for walking this path with us. We are ready for the next 15!”

Aeon Gods has released a video for “Soldiers Of Re”, second single taken from the new album “Reborn To Light” to be released on February 20 by Scarlet Records.

With “Soldiers of Re” Aeon Gods unleash one of the most dramatic moments in the sun-god’s nightly descent: the furious battle against Apophis, the cosmic serpent of chaos. When Re’s barque enters the deepest shadows of the underworld, all creation trembles – for if Apophis prevails, the sun will never rise again. A centerpiece of the album’s mythic journey, “Soldiers Of Re” delivers pure battle-anthem power – a hymn of resistance, loyalty, and the eternal victory of light.

With “Reborn To Light” Aeon Gods open a new chapter in their myth-driven metal universe, entering the radiant and shadowed realm of ancient Egypt.

The new songs blend power metal might with orchestral texture to create an immersive mythic experience, and the German band delivers a truly cinematic and dynamic work: fast and powerful anthems, dramatic battle hymns, dark atmospheric passages, symphonic grandeur, and a moment of calm emotional depth reminiscent of a ballad.

The concept follows the dramatic nightly descent of the sun-god Re into the underworld – alongside this central solar cycle, “Reborn To Light” incorporates other foundational Egyptian myths; these stories expand the album’s mythological scope and deepen its conceptual arc.

A cinematic journey of darkness, rebirth, and divine triumph elevating Aeon Gods’ signature blend of heavy riffs, grand choirs, and atmospheric depth!

Belgian PREDATORY VOID Stream New Single ‘New Moon’

Belgian sludge/doom collective Predatory Void, featuring members of Amenra, Oathbreaker and Cobra The Impaler, release new single ‘New Moon’. This is the second single taken from new EP Atoned in Metamorphosis, set for release on 6th February 2026 via Pelagic Records.

Stream here: https://orcd.co/predatoryvoid

Predatory Void guitarist Lennart Bossu commented: “‘New Moon’ was the first song we wrote for the EP and set the tone for what followed. It reflects a relentless chase for wholeness that always ends in emptiness, mirroring the moon’s endless cycle.”

The new four-track EP distils the band’s volatile creative energy into a tightly honed expression of intensity, restraint and emotional upheaval. Across Atoned in Metamorphosis, Predatory Void navigate extremes with precision and purpose. Reverb-drenched, lingering passages rupture into searing metallic surges; subterranean basslines underpin shifting guitar architectures; vocals move between condemnation, lament and raw catharsis; percussion oscillates from deliberate, architectural patience to explosive release. The result is an austere yet immersive sonic landscape, incandescent, razor edged and unflinchingly direct.

Conceptually, the EP confronts the darker terrain of the human psyche. Calling on sludge, doom, black metal and the unrelenting urgency of hardcore, the band channel these influences into concise, tightly constructed compositions that balance melody with abrasion.

The band comments, “Atoned in Metamorphosis represents the process of confronting the uncomfortable truths within ourselves, the obsessions, the grievances, the shadow sides so many hide or ignore. As we evolve and change in life, we’re inevitably faced with these darker, sometimes evil and obsessive parts, both in ourselves and in others. In recognising our flaws, we begin to find strength, not in perfection, but in self-awareness. For some, this can feel like a spiritual or emotional cleansing, a kind of healing that comes from seeing ourselves fully, and embracing what we once tried to deny.”

Working with producer and recording engineer Gilles Demolder (Wiegedood, Oathbreaker), the band pursued a raw, performance centric aesthetic,  preserving immediacy while amplifying contrast. Atoned in Metamorphosis stands as a vital evolution for Predatory Void, a work defined by architectural heft, emotional honesty and a deep commitment to tension as both a creative force and a narrative engine.

Atoned in Metamorphosis tracklist:

1. Make Me Whole
2. New Moon
3. Peeling Cycle
4. Contemplation In Time

Predatory Void emerged from the collision of sharply contrasting musical backgrounds. Guitarist Lennart Bossu (Amenra, Oathbreaker, Living Gate), long associated with atmospheric and introspective soundscapes, began writing harsher, more immediate material during the pandemic. To bring this vision to life, he assembled drummer Vincent Verstrepen (Carnation) and guitarist Thijs De Cloedt (Cobra The Impaler, ex-Aborted), both steeped in more direct and aggressive strains of metal, alongside vocalist Lina R (Cross Bringer) and, more recently, bassist/vocalist Kris Auman (ENDLINGR).

The result is a volatile and cohesive fusion of styles, shoegaze, doom, hardcore, black metal and death metal, anchored by emotional weight and sheer sonic force. It’s a sound as haunting as it is punishing, resonating with fans drawn to the current vanguard of alternative metal, from Ragana and Agriculture to Thou.

Predatory Void are:
Vocals – Lina R
Guitars – Lennart Bossu
Bass/vocals – Kris Auman
Guitars – Thijs Decloedt
Drums – Vincent Verstrepen

SERPENT GATES to Release Debut Album “The Veil of Darkness” on February 20th, New Single ‘Down the Cross’ Out Now

Serpent Gates, a new and bold flag-bearer of traditional heavy metal from Finland, will release their debut album “The Veil of Darkness” on February 20. Conceptually, the album’s roots go back decades to the dreams of elementary schooler Juho Hakalax, who was crazy about music and wanted to make his own album. But it is only now, after years of passionate and uncompromising dedication, that the planned and prepared debut is ready for everyone to hear.

This full-length album, which is firmly rooted in the heart of Central Finnish metal expertise, is not only a showcase for the talents of drummer Juho Hakalax and guitarist Tuomas Västilä, but also features Antony Parviainen (Psychework, Machine Men) as a session vocalist with his powerful voice.

Now, the second single from the album, the powerful Down the Cross, has been released. Lyricist Jegori Miinin says the following about it:

“War and religion, the basic fuels of humanity and metal lyrics, are strongly present throughout the album’s lyrics, in addition to the general gloom. Thus, Down the Cross also deals with religion and everything that is done under its guise.”

–Composer: Juho Hakalax
–Lyrics: Jegori Miinin

–Record Label: Venomoon Records

“When you’re a drummer writing songs, the starting point for the composition is often the rhythm. This was the case with the debut single Metamorphosis, but this time the rhythm pushed the whole thing in an even more extreme direction. The song’s aggressive beat was accompanied by a big riff and really fierce vocals, which Antony delivered magnificently. The C section is a great example of his versatile sound,” Juho Hakalax continues, explaining the background of the single.

Line-up:
Antony Parviainen – Vocals (session member)
Juho Hakalax – Drums
Tuomas Västilä – Guitar
Sami Tapola – Bass

Swedish modern rock unit SELF DECEPTION is set to unleash their Napalm Records debut, One Of Us, on May 15, 2026! Known for their fiery fusion of anthemic modern metal and powerful melodic rock, they have shared stages with the likes of Electric Callboy, Danko Jones, and Adept since their 2009 debut, while racking up millions of streams and video views – including their viral 2022 hit, “Fight Fire With Gasoline”, with tens of millions of streams. Written on the road during the heaviest touring of SELF DECEPTION’s career so far, One Of Us is a cohesive album full of character, made for the stage – and the pit!

Accordingly, the band releases the upcoming album’s title track as a new single. Bone-crushing “ONE OF US” unleashes the heavy modern metal side of SELF DECEPTION. Fusing relentless hardcore energy, in-your-face lyrics, and high-voltage attitude, the track hits with unstoppable force, pushing contemporary rock to the next level.

SELF DECEPTION about “ONE OF US”:
“‘ONE OF US’ came together while we were out on tour, surrounded by those wild, magical moments with the crowd. The chaos and energy of the mosh pit inspired us to write a whole track dedicated to the people who live for it. This song is about the fans, for the fans, and the growing bond that makes it feel less like a band and a crowd and more like family.”

From massive pit churners to creative storylines and choruses full of hit potential, the energy on One Of Us is unmatched. The band has a busy festival summer following the album’s release, so fans will get the first chance to experience these new tracks live at several major European rock and metal festivals. With One Of Us, SELF DECEPTION is ready to push contemporary rock to the next level! The album will be available digitally and in several physical formats, with cover artwork created by Alex Tillbrook, who is well known for his work on the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things”, as well as for collaborations with artists such as Metallica, Blink-182, and Sleep Token.

SELF DECEPTION about One Of Us:
“One Of Us is our new album, inspired by life on the road and the energy of the live stage. Touring so much has put us in a kind of ‘live bubble’, and that feeling runs through the songwriting. The album revolves around outsidership and the desire to belong. On tour, we meet many lost and lonely people, all seeking a few hours of escape where they can disappear into a rock show. With One Of Us, we want everyone to feel part of something bigger, to feel like one of us.”

Get Your Copy Of One Of Us NOW

Bone-crushing album-opener and title track “ONE OF US” takes no prisoners, unleashing the heavy modern metal side of the Swedish powerhouse: fusing relentless hardcore energy, in-your-face lyrics, and high-voltage attitude, the track hits with unstoppable force. Following track “TIME’S UP” features an absolute hit chorus, fresh hooks and high-energy instrumentals, while emotional “DON’T B E L O N G” addresses the difficult themes of addiction and mental health battles – the combination of hauntingly beautiful melodies, multifaceted vocal performance and heavy rhythm section carry this sentimental track. Further highlights on SELF DECEPTION’s new 11-track offering include “THE WEDDING”, an energetic modern rock anthem with a particularly dark and twisted storyline, and “BREAK!”, with its heavy-hitting drums, electronic influences and yet another irresistible sing-along chorus. “ENTERTAINED” delivers one of the heaviest breakdowns on the album, before “GODDAMN ME” brings the record to a powerful close.

DUST ORCHARD Release New Single ‘Hours in the Void’ – Story of Desperate Struggle for Survival in Apocalyptic Future

Progressive metal band Dust Orchard from Helsinki, Finland, has released their new single “Hours in the Void”. The band is known for weaving violin-led melodies into a dense, riff-driven foundation of modern heavy music. After a 2022 EP and a major rebuild of the lineup, Dust Orchard is now moving into a new phase with renewed focus and fresh material in the works. New single introduces this current chapter: ambitious, dark, and deliberately dynamic.

With thunderous guitars, soaring violins and a blend of growls and clean vocal harmonies, “Hours in the Void” tells the story of a desperate struggle for survival in an apocalyptic future. The track balances progressive structure and heavy riff weight with melodic, atmospheric sections—showcasing the band’s range without losing cohesion.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, YouTube Music etc.): https://push.fm/fl/dustorchard-hoursinthevoid

–ISRC: FI3FC2654601
–Composers: Petri Siikander, Tero Aikkila, Vegard Lillevoll, Tommy Olenius, Sindre Johansen
–Lyrics: Tommy Olenius
–Arrangement: Petri Siikander, Tommy Olenius, Vegard Lillevoll, Niko Salo, Marko Hanski
–Mixing & mastering: Saku Moilanen / Deep Noise Studios

Violinist Vegard Lillevoll describes the song as a statement of intent:

“I think ‘Hours in the Void’ lights the way forward for the new metamorphosis of Dust Orchard. It’s lofty, catchy and heavy in all the right places.”

Founder and guitarist Petri Siikander highlights the song’s scene-setting approach and the way the arrangement pivots between extremes:

“I try to paint a picture with every song. Usually I’ll have a specific scenery and feeling in mind when writing… The upcoming single has a heavy intro, trashy metal growls, an epic chorus and some Rush stuff in the middle. What’s not to love?”

Founded in 2018, Dust Orchard emerged from the underground corners of Helsinki with a clear aim: write progressive metal that resists predictability while still landing with emotional weight. The band’s identity is rooted in its instrumentation — especially the use of violin as a lead voice inside a heavy, guitar-driven framework — allowing songs to move from crushing intensity to melodic introspection without warning.

Following the release of an EP in 2022, Dust Orchard went through a significant lineup transition and spent time rebuilding the band from the inside out. Re-emerging with a sharpened intent and new material taking shape, the current lineup is focused on releasing new music and preparing more songs for a forthcoming longer-form release.

For fans of: Amorphis, Evergrey, Soilwork (and Swedish melodic death metal), modern progressive metal.

Lineup:

  • Tommy Olenius – vocals
  • Petri Siikander – guitar
  • Marko Hanski – guitar
  • Vegard Lillevoll – violin
  • Niko Salo – bass
