“Light ‘Em Up”, is a straightforward hard rocker. We cut off all the fat, reducing each song to its’ essence. It’s a rockin’, colourful album, for sure.” – Michael Devin

SEETHING AKIRA Release New Single ‘Resilient’ from Upcoming Album

Following on from the release of critically acclaimed ‘Nozomi’, Seething Akira are gearing up for their new album ‘Cancel Estate’, coming later this year, and kick off the campaign in their usual flamboyant & hard hitting style with the fierce ‘Resilient‘.

“Hopes and dreams need to be reconsidered when it comes to this release! Starting as we mean to go on, its go hard or go home. Turn it up and enjoy!”

Presave here: https://earache.lnk.to/Resilient

Seething Akira are a band built on the foundations of connection, sharing something special with a stranger and forming a bond that lasts a lifetime. Taking the most gloriously crushing parts of metalcore and joyfully triumphant elements of EDM and smashing them together with lashings of British grit, determination and cheek, they craft a uniquely vibrant experience. Delivering as many breakdowns that could cut diamonds as techno breaks that wouldn’t sound out of place in the clubs of Berlin, they strive to unite two worlds with more in common than many think.

Inspired by the swell of the pit as much as the heat of the dancefloor, movement is encouraged, but so is critical thought. Though the band’s music straddles the shoulders of the community proudly, it is when they are on stage together that it truly comes to life. They’ve shared their hopeful philosophy with everyone from Don Broco and Ingested to Skindred, Killswitch Engage and Sleep Token, as well as decimating stages at Download, Bloodstock and Victorious. And each performance they been a part of has been viewed as a blessing, a chance to change someone’s perspective with the euphoria they have forged. There is no barrier between the band and the crowd, they are one in these moments.

10/10 – Emerging Rock Bands: “Nozomi – New metal masterpiece!” Devolution Magazine – “In Nozomi they’ve created something very special. What these six guys from Portsmouth have just produced is a contender for album of the year.”

Bloodstock Main Stage 2023: MetalTalk – “With their adrenaline-fuelled approach, they tore the Bloodstock arena apart, and the masses responded in kind with pits and circles aplenty.”

Dark Arts Conspiracy: “They are a band that need to be seen to be believed, especially in the live environment, where they truly thrive, being in their element. It’s no surprise that they have already supported the likes of Skindred, Hacktivist and Don Broco.“

Seething Akira:
When did waking up with air in our lungs and blood in our veins stop being all we needed to know that life is wonderful?
At the end of everything, you won’t be thinking of the things you bought or the number of followers you had. You’ll be looking at the places you saw, the things you felt and the people you were with. That’s what this should all be about. It’s all this has ever been about. We just need a bit of reminding every now and then.

Seething Akira have made it their mission to be that reminder. That’s because they are a band built on the foundations of connection. Of sharing something special with a stranger and forming a bond that lasts a lifetime. It’s a sentiment that made them fall in love with heavy music in the first place, and since their inception in 2017, they have been striving to leave their mark on the genre in the same way their heroes have.

The future is more uncertain than it has ever been, but what we can control is the things that we stand for. As beautifully human as they are, they are wonderfully otherworldly; Seething Akira know who they are and what they believe now more than ever. Of what it means to make the most of our time and endeavour to make every moment one to remember. They want to be a flag in the ground for everybody else who feels the same.

D-A-D Unleash Two New Songs ‘Keep That MF Down’ + ‘Head over Heels’ from Upcoming Album

October 4, 2024 will see iconic hard rock act D-A-D release their much-awaited, thirteenth studio album, entitled ’Speed Of Darkness’, via AFM Records. While most bands promote their records with just one single month by month ahead of album release, D-A-D hold a very special gift to their fans and have started to release double singles. Following ’The Ghost’ and ’1st, 2nd & 3rd’, today, the Danish four-piece is again serving us two new album tracks!

About “Keep That MF Down”, that comes with a music video premiering below, Jesper Binzer reveals: “One of the most crystal clear rockers on the album! And Jacob’s very large fiffs paired with Laust immaculate swing. The lyrics are basically about trying not to be a douchebag even if we all carry shit around – we’re on this sphere together – keep your mother fugger down…”

About “Head Over Heels” (accompanied by a music video, premiering on September 6th!), he says it’s “one of the two ballads like cuts on the album – we just love to play this groove. Can you throw yourself, without care, deep into love? Or is carelessness the opposite of love? Sometimes we fall in love – sometimes we just fall.”

“Keep That MF Down” and “Head over Heels” are now streaming via all digital services at: https://dad.bfan.link/keep-that-mother-down

The video clip for “Keep That MF Down” is premiering here:

Earlier this year, D-A-D turned 40 years and even got their own museum exhibition. But this is by no means the end of everything. The quartet is brimming with energy, and they have written 40 songs since their last album, “A Prayer for the Loud”, that was released in 2019. Out of these songs, the band has selected 14 of the best ones for their new double album ’Speed Of Darkness’. Many bands never get to stick together and celebrate their 40-year anniversary without any breaks, but the fact this is currently happening to one of Denmark’s best and most popular rock band, with an even greater audience beyond the country’s borders, is remarkable. It’s in fact more than that, according to bassist Stig Pedersen: ”Turning 40 as a band is in and of itself totally crazy. We are a social experiment!”, he states.

While this year started with a trip back in time for D-A-D, now, they look into the future with their forthcoming studio offering, and the pre-released double singles point to a remarkably strong collection of songs. Some would call this a clear understatement; the four band members have not been in so much agreement about the quality of new songs for an upcoming album in many years as they are today. As Jesper Binzer says: ”I am totally stoked about this new collection of songs – I can’t wait for the fans to hear this album. It is so much D-A-D – and so much better!”

Drummer Laust Sonne agrees: “I think that we have taken a collective step up, on many parameters, with “Speed of Darkness”: We have never played better than we do on this album. Our songwriting is on top notch, and this collection of songs is our strongest in many years. Sound- and production-wise, we have cared deeply for every little detail. It has both power and finesse. All of this makes us sleep soundly at night and just look forward to presenting “Speed Of Darkness” in its entirety to all of our fans.”

Speed Of Darkness’ was produced with Nick Foss and was mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Powerwolf). Jacob Binzer adds: ”Although you can’t really judge albums before one to two years after their release, I think that this is a strong pool. Some of these songs have surprised me positively while we recorded them, and that is very promising.”

Jesper Binzer agrees with his brother: ”For the first time in three to four albums, I am totally excited about our material, and I was looking forward to go into the studio every single day. We have an excess of both songs and ideas, and this is a place that I have wanted to reach with the last three to four D-A-D albums. It’s crazy how things are circular that way. I thought that everything was done, and I thought that we were just old guys who were doing whatever we could, but a new necessity has arisen.”

’Speed Of Darkness’ Tracklist:

01 – God Prays to Man
02 – 1st, 2nd & 3rd

DOG EAT DOG Release Single + Video ‘Summertime’ from Long Lost Studio Album “Walk With Me”

Posted by metalshockfinland on August 31, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DOG EAT DOG. Leave a comment

As another foretaste of the re-release of the long-lost DOG EAT DOG studio album “Walk With Me” (out 20 September / Metalville Records),  “Summertime” will be available now on all known streaming providers.

Summertime. All the ingredients are listed. Pools, Beaches, cool mountain lakes. Barbecue and cold beers, down time with friends and family. Yes, it’s Summertime,  Dog Eat Dog style. You are welcomed to the season with inviting beats, loopie bass lines and Sean Kilkenny’s catchiest guitar riff. Listen while the boys celebrate everyone’s favorite season and dare not to sing along.

Dog Eat Dog’s album “Walk With Me”, released by Nuclear Blast in 2006, is an impressive testament to the band’s creative power and musical versatility. Although it was only available for a short time, it has left a lasting impression and is one of the hidden gems of rock music.

Dog Eat Dog, known for their innovative blend of rock, punk and funk, experienced a period of intense creativity in the early 2000s. After several successful albums and tours, the band decided to create an album that would reflect their musical development and experiences of the last few years. Work began on “Walk With Me” and the band members spent countless hours in the studio perfecting their musical ideas.

In 2003 they found a new management company, Vibra, and came into contact with Claus Grabke. They worked with him on songs such as “M.I.L.F.”, “Hell Yeah”, “Cannonball” and “Undivided” for their new album. Marta Jandová from Die Happy sings guest vocals on the latter.

The album was recorded with a lot of passion and dedication. Each song on “Walk With Me” tells its own story and reflects the band’s personal and collective experiences. The powerful rhythms, catchy melodies and profound lyrics show Dog Eat Dog at the peak of their creativity.

“Walk With Me” is packed with energetic tracks that perfectly showcase the band’s unique blend of rock, punk and funk. Songs like “Undivided” and “Walk With Me” are bursting with dynamics and showcase the band’s musical diversity. Particularly noteworthy are the powerful guitar riffs and the lead singer’s distinctive voice, which give each song a special touch.
The production of the album is first class, with a clear and dynamic sound that perfectly captures the energy and passion of the band. The careful mixing and well thought-out song structure make “Walk With Me” a pleasure to listen to, both at high volume and in quiet moments.

Despite the high quality of the album, “Walk With Me” was only available for a short time. This was due to internal problems at Nuclear Blast and unexpected legal complications, which meant that the album had to be withdrawn from the market after a short time. These unfortunate circumstances meant that many fans were unable to purchase the album, making it a coveted collector’s item.

“Walk With Me” is an outstanding album that captures the creative essence of Dog Eat Dog at their best. The combination of catchy melodies, powerful rhythms and a fascinating origin story makes it an essential part of any music collection. Now fans finally have the chance to buy this masterpiece again as a CD digipack and Ltd. edition orange vinyl – and it’s also available digitally for the first time.

The line-up of the band on “Walk With Me” was John Connor (vocals), Dave Neabore (bass, vocals, guitar), Brandon Finley (drums) and Sean Kilkenny (guitar, vocals). The album was recorded at Claus Grabke Studios, Gütersloh, Germany and produced by Claus Grabke and Dog Eat Dog.

70’s Inspired KANT Present New Video Single ‘Baba Yaga’ from Upcoming Album

September 27, 2024 will see the release of Paranoia Pilgrimage – the second album by heavy psychedelic rock band KANT from Aschaffenburg, Germany – via Sound Of Liberation Records.

Following a previously-released, first excerpt of their upcoming Paranoia Pilgrimage, the heavily groove-ladden track “Lord Of The Flies”, today, KANT are premiering a music video for their latest single “Baba Yaga“! The song is now streaming via all digital services at: https://orcd.co/solpresave

Guitarist and singer Marius Seidel reveals: “Baba Yaga is the second song of the album and single, inspired by the slavic fairytale. I once stumbled upon this story by listening to the interpretation of “Pictures Of An Exhibition” by Emerson, Lake & Palmer. After hearing the two songs “The Hut” and “The Curse Of Baba Yaga”, I took a dive into the lore of this pretty scary fairytale. The musical result after all is a song, where the overall construction is more of a story telling approach, than a linear verse- chorus-structure.”

On Paranoia Pilgrimage, KANT present a departure from their previous sound. Recorded live in a small studio in the woods of Germany’s Black Forest, KANT remain true to their 70’s inspired approach to music making. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Black Sabbath, Witchcraft, and Horisont, the album transports the listener into a mystical realm teeming with occultism, prophecy, and mystical beings.

The sound has taken on a darker, heavier and more sinister tone compared to their debut release “When The Strangers Come To Town”. The symbiotic guitar interplay between Marius Seidel and Nicolas Jordan remains intact, supported by the melodic and rhythmic bass foundation of Elena Strähle. Drummer Bryan Göbel, who joined the band in 2022, brings both jazz-inflected accents and raw power to the rhythm section. All of this is complemented by the energetic and raw vocals of Marius Seidel, a departure from his style on the first album.

The album pre-sale of Paranoia Pilgrimage is now available at: https://shop.soundofliberation.com/collections/kant

Tracklist

  1. The Great Serpent
  2. Baba Yaga
  3. Book Of Creation
  4. Traitors Lair
  5. Occult Worship
  6. Paranoia Pilgrimage
  7. Dark Procession
  8. Lord Of The Flies
  9. Rainbird

KANT is:
Elena Strähle: Bass
Brain Göbel: Drums
Marius Seidel: Guitar, Vocals
Nicolas Jordan: Guitar, Vocals
