MINE ROAD Release Fab New Rocker Single ‘American Dream’, New Album Out Now

With considerable radio play across the UK and EU, Irish rockers MINE ROAD have today released their long awaited new studio album ‘Tomorrow’s Sky‘ with an additional single and video, the fabulous, Tom Petty-esque ‘American Dream‘.

Dublin rock act Mine Road meld their heavy grooving guitar punch with high octane vocal assault as usual but the unit is a far more cohesive songwriting animal in 2024. Full length debut “Tomorrow’s Sky” sees the band reunited and re-energised after several years living abroad. Settling back in Dublin allowed the group to focus on writing and recording together with spectacular results.

“Tomorrows Sky” is the long awaited follow up to their Satellite ep and it does not disappoint. The band toured nationally to test material before entering the studio and settling on 11 tracks that have signature muscle but also weave real emotion into the Mine Road soundscape which makes “Sky” quite the journey. If you want colossal choruses flanked by crushing riffs and huge drums then step into the house of Mine Road where they welcome you in by ripping the door off the hinges, baring their rock’n’roll soul, before burning the place to the ground.

Stories of Love, loss, triumph and heartbreak are told with unwavering honesty, while the Mine Road soundtrack, which is far more Schwarzenegger than film noir, rages gleefully on.

Tomorrow’s Sky tracklisting:
Snowplough
Tightrope
Into the Storm
American Dream
Blood On The Floor
Hold On You
Recall
Tomorrow’s Sky
Reeling
Start To Believe
I’ll be Home

Mine Road are:
Stu Cash – Guitar / Backing Vox
Ken Carthy – Lead Vocals
Dave Flood – Guitars
Steve Cash – Drums / Backing Vox
*Bass performed by former member – Donnacha Neary

In August of 2023 while on tour in Europe, heavy psych- and progressive rock masters Elder were invited to record a live session at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios for the Radio 1 Rock Show with Dan Carter. The resulting session is a snapshot of the band’s powerful live performance and setlist from that tour. “Live at BBC Maida Vale Studios” will be released on August 30, 2024 through Stickman Records.

“We recorded a few tracks from the live set we had been playing at that time and were very happy with the results – a very ‘live’ sounding version of the tracks, which can be sometimes a bit ambitious to pull off live,“ the band states. “Most folks missed the radio broadcast, so we figured we’d put it to vinyl and CD as well.”

Finnish thrash legends, BLOODRIDE, are currently entrenched in the crucible of creation, meticulously molding what is destined to be the next monumental chapter in thrash metal history. Their passion ignites the studio as they channel their raw energy and unrivaled skill into their fifth album, promising an unparalleled auditory assault that will redefine the boundaries of thrash metal.

Studio Confessions from the Heart of the Metal Storm – Drummer Petteri Shares Insight:

“Bloodride in the studio 2024; Even more thrashing than slowing down. The recipe is simple; we did it with the ‘trial and error’ method. Recorded some guitars, listened at home, everyone had something to say and then we made adjustments accordingly. Recorded again and had the jury have its say, and repeat. Then vocals and so on. Decisions, decisions, not always easy, but the goal is mutual…
At the time it seems there is some serious headbanging brewing. Be afraid, be very afraid…”

Stay tuned for more updates from the studio as BLOODRIDE continues to craft their next thrash masterpiece.

CALVA LOUISE Reveal Frenetic Official Video for ‘La Corriente’

Following on from their electrifying tour with Vukovi in the US and performances at Download Festival in the UK and Vainstream Rockfest in Germany, Calva Louise have revealed a brand new video for recently released single “La Corriente,” out now on Mascot Records. You can watch the video for it HERE.

Talking about the music video the band say, “‘La Corriente’ is indirectly part of the sequel of ‘Under The Skin’, as the beginning of the prequel takes place in 1994: the day a young Jonnie had to agree to become an apprentice to a commander coming from the Fractalworld. ‘La Corriente’ takes place at the show where his fate is sealed, setting the tone of the story that will be unfolding in the next video. We are very grateful to everyone who took part in the video, especially Sunbird Records bar in Darwen that allowed us to shoot those two music videos in 4 days at their venue. It was a hard but fulfilling experience especially for Jess as she is directing and editing the videos.”

The single has already picked up support from BBC Radio 1. “’La Corriente’ is about escaping prefabricated opinions and judgments, affecting our perception of self,” Jess Allanic explains. Translated to “the current”, in Spanish it can mean the river current but also figuratively it can mean following someone’s flow. Allanic adds, “By trying to be agreeable and trying to fit in, I let someone’s current drag me away from my own self in the past, undermining my opinions and eventually feeling trapped in expressing myself. This song for me is regaining that power back.”

They recently finished a 5-week tour of the US with Vukovi as well as playing Sonic Temple and Welcome To Rockville festivals in the US. Talking about the tour the band say, “Touring with Vukovi was one of the best experiences we’ve had! They are a wonderful band and amazing people! We also got to see so many great places and meet wonderful new people who travelled all over the US to come to the shows! We had a great time and hope we get to do it again soon!”

They recently released their explosive single Under The Skin, which was picked up by BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock Show, Future Alternative and Future Artist’s shows as well as playlisted at Kerrang Radio. They have also previously picked up support from BBC Radio 1’s Alyx Holcombe, 6 Music, and Radio X, Metal Hammer and Rock Sound.

Under the Skin was co-written by Allanic and Pendulum’s Gareth McGrillen and is a mesmerising blend of raging metal riffs, swirling electronica, and Allanic’s extraordinary ability to flit between ethereal vocals and demonic howls. It swoons in and out of a stunning narrative, with melodic twists along the way that are penetrated by an attack of hypnotic aggression. The song and video follows a complex Sci-Fi narrative and is the introduction of a conceptual storyline about the characters and their counterparts, The video is an incredible feast for the eye and was directed and edited with VFX by Allanic.

The British based band is truly International with its members hailing from across the globe and has been ripping through the U.K. underground for the past few years, driven by the creative vision of Venezuelan born Jess Allanic (Vocals/Guitar/Keyboard) along with French born Alizon Taho (Bass/Backing Vocals – France) and New Zealander Ben Parker (Drums/Backing Vocals).
