Savatage have announced the release of their new live album ‘Japan Live ’94’ through earMUSIC.
For three years earMUSIC has been paying tribute to the heavy metal legends with the extensive re-release of their entire studio album back catalogue on heavyweight, high-quality 12″ LP. From Sirens (1983) to Poets And Madmen (2001), all studio albums returned on finest vinyl after having been sought after by fans and collectors for a long time.
In memory of Criss Oliva and to honor his legacy and his unmistakably unique work, Savatage and earMUSIC celebrated the release of Ghost In The Ruins for the very first time on vinyl on October 27th, 2023.
Now, with the first-time-ever-on-vinyl release of ‘Japan Live ‘94′onAugust 9th, 2024, the exciting LP reissue journey comes to an end.
Like sonic snapshots, live albums memorialize and preserve amplified moments in time. For those in attendance, they allow the ability to relive an aural moment, and for the rest of us, it’s the ultimate souvenir, a time-stamped milestone that captures an artist/a band as they were. In Savatage‘s case, ‘Japan Live ‘94’ captures a crucially important and significant tour for a band that, after experiencing gut-wrenching tragedy and massive personnel changes, was on undeniably shaky ground but stood tall, nonetheless. It was the first stop on a trip that ultimately forge onward to Sarajevo and Siberia – a journey that, 30 years later, has no end in sight.
This double LP release marks the first time in audio form that the show is available in its entirety with all 16 songs in show running order and all newly mastered for vinyl. The album is being reissued on heavyweight black vinyl, packed in a deluxe gatefold packaging with the original cover design, brand new liner notes by Clay Marshall and rare memorabilia.
Punk rock revolutionists The Mary Tyler Whores release their highly anticipated debut single, ‘White Trash Girl‘, out now. The single is the first track from their forthcoming debut album ‘As Filthy As We Wanna Be’, produced by the legendary Greg Hetson of Circle Jerks and Bad Religion fame.
‘White Trash Girl‘ encapsulates the raw energy and unapologetic spirit that defines The Mary Tyler Whores. Written by lead vocalist Frankie “Crime” Cassara, the song narrates the story of a young, resilient addict-dealer-prostitute known in the neighbourhood as ‘White Trash Girl‘. With a blend of sarcastic humour and gritty realism, the track is a high-octane, beer-swilling, punk rock anthem that promises to resonate with its listeners. Cassara reflects, “I always admired the hustle in her survival mode. The last I saw her, she had cleaned up and moved on. I was happy for White Trash Girl, so I kept it real and wrote this song about her. I will never water down THE TRUTH!”
To accompany the single release, The Mary Tyler Whores release their mini ‘White Trash Girl‘ movie, shot on location in Hollywood. The music video is a tear-jerking story of triumph, heartbreak and deception, starring TV personality / host / punk-rock goddess, Erin Micklow. Written and directed by Daryl Scott for Money $ Punk Productions, Edited and VFX by Faust at Infinivision Media, and shot by Jose Rodriguez and Veneko Media.
The Mary Tyler Whores’ music delivers a melodic gut punch of rebellion, with ‘White Trash Girl’ serving as the perfect introduction to their riotous sound. Their debut album, ‘As Filthy As We Wanna Be,’ promises to carry this torch forward, delivering punk rock in its rawest form to a new generation ready to embrace its unfiltered, rebellious energy.
Frankie “Crime” Cassara shares his excitement about the partnership with Golden Robot Records:“The Mary Tyler Whores are thrilled to ink a global deal with Golden Robot Records! We are grateful for this opportunity and have immense respect for the Golden Robot family for believing in our twisted vision of punk fury and extreme rock ‘n’ roll. We’re stoked to bring this circus on the road worldwide with ‘As Filthy As We Wanna Be’ in 2024!” Reflecting on the band’s ethos, Cassara adds, “I lived and grew up around the most unorthodox people and saw the craziest shit you can ever imagine. With no discrimination, let your freak flag fly. The future of The Mary Tyler Whores is to push the limits of live performance, keeping it edgy and real!”
Punk has evolved, and The Mary Tyler Whores are leading the charge into a new era of defiant, high-energy rock. Get ready to meet the next big thing – perhaps the last big thing – in the punk rock world. Stay tuned for ‘White Trash Girl’ on June 21 and prepare for a raucous ride with The Mary Tyler Whores!
Who can arouse the world with a smile? Who can take a miserable day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? Better still, who can sponsor an on-stage, punk rock, food fight, inviting fans to attend a show and pelt band members with fruits, vegetables, and yes… burgers? Better yet, did I also mention a prosthetic leg! And as the support for Iggy Pop, he is hysterically amused from the side of the stage! Well now, human evolution bred a twisted madness, leading to the undisputed batshit-craziest, punchy-punk rock band with a hint of sleaze, The Mary Tyler Whores… Howard Stern’s favourite band name, seriously.
A brutal, yet melodic gut-punch that attacks you in the middle of a venue-wreckin’ concert! It’s aggressive, it’s intimidating, it’s provocative, it’s hilarious as hell, and all begins around 2000 and sumthin in South FlOr-i-DuH with Frankie “Crime” Cassara, vocalist and lead scoundrel, Doobie Tyler Whore on guitar, and the late Joey Image (R.I.P.), original drummer for proto-hardcore pioneers, The Misfits. They were destined to influence the masses from the start, and fans quickly became infatuated with The Mary Tyler Whores’ megaton blast of twisted punk fury and famous on-stage antics like nothing you’ve seen or heard. From food fighting to ripping it up live, The Mary Tyler Whores gratefully joined some friends a’ la The Misfits (R.I.P. Joey), Iggy Pop, U.S. Bombs, GBH, The Casualties, Murphy’s Law, and The Bouncing Souls on stages to further breed their intense brand of madness.
Fast forwarding to 2023, and transplanted for over a decade to Southern California, the timing was perfect for Frankie “Crime” Cassara to meet up with his best of friends again and reawaken the savagery of The Mary Tyler Whores! Frankie buzzed Doobie first in Vegas, and they brought back four of the five members from the original band, founder- vocalist Frankie “Crime” Cassara, MTW’s co-founder- rhythm guitarist “Doobie” Tyler Whore, master beater George “Korky” Kokkoris, lead guitarist Rob Deuce, and new addition, Frankie’s longtime henchman on bass, Aaron “The Proj” Miller, and now these vagabonds are revitalized and ready to tour the world and disrupt a city near you as true punk agents of chaos.
Following the success of their debut single “Black Reflections,” which was featured in the movie “The Throwback,” and is currently climbing the charts, Stripping the Pistol has released their new single, “Hope.” The track is now available through TLG|ZOID / Virgin Music Group.
“’Hope’ is about finding a sliver of light in depression and self-doubt.” says Kevin Cherello.
“While Kevin wrote the lyrics on a personal level, they can also apply to humanity: Hope for the future.” adds Kyriakos “Charlie” Tsiolis.
The band premiered the official lyric video for “Hope” on Bravewords. Watch the video here.
The single showcases the band’s unique blend of powerful lyrics and captivating melodies, promising to resonate deeply with listeners and leave a lasting impact.
Stripping the Pistol continues to push the boundaries and “Hope” is a testament to their evolution and growth as artists.
This band is about straight-in-your-face rock n’ roll. Stripping the Pistol formed with the intention of breaking the rules. The Chicago band blends aggression with melody. The seamless interplay of the dueling vocalists is balanced by the precision, power, and energy of the music.
Brilliant reviews in the run-up, a video that’s really taking off, a limited collector’s box that’s almost sold out – there’s no question that the new album is one of the positive surprises of the first half of the year!
Bandleader Alex Kraft has pulled out all the stops for it. 12 strong songs as a mix between metal and Morricone, a guest appearance by SODOM’s Tom Angelripper as an old Dezperado(z), what more could a metal heart want?
For over 20 years, DEZPERADOZ have been thrilling audiences with their distinctive sound and stories about the heroes of the Wild West like Wyatt Earp or Biilly The Kid. This led them to various European and world tours (among others with Krokus, Thin Lizzy, Doro, U.D.O. and Volbeat) as well as to Wacken, the With Full Force and the Summer Breeze. The new album “Moonshiner” is the 6th in the band’s history.

Swedish Melodic Metal band NEPTUNE is the latest addition to Germany based label Pride & Joy Music’s roster! The group from Stockholm will release its second album “End Of Time” on September 20th, 2024!
Today is the release date of the first single & lyric video for the track “Metal Hearts”, watch below.
Neptune is a Melodic Metal band with a long and vibrant history dating back to the early 1980s. Influences from classic heroes such as Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Accept, but of course, with a more modern touch that belongs in the 21st century are obvious.
During the 80s, the band recorded several demo tapes which led into meetings with multiple record labels. Ultimately, one of these labels funded the recording of an EP that was never released, causing the band to lose momentum, and eventually split up for what was believed to be for good.
It wasn’t until 30 years later, specifically in 2018, that these recordings from the 80’s were released along with several of their early demo recordings, resulting in the album “Land of Northern.” This release reignited the band’s passion, leading them to record a completely new album in 2020 entitled “Northern Steel” which still featured three original members from the 80’s line-up. Now, Neptune releases the album “End of Time” on September 20th, 2024 via Germany based Pride & Joy Music which is a musical continuation of the previous record. Since all band members contribute to songwriting, the material covers a wide range of styles and emotions.

Neptune’s lyrics often have a connection to their ancient Nordic history, and as a sounding board or creative engine, they often use an underlying narrative for their albums. This time it’s based around the last known Viking, Harald Hardrada and several somewhat fictionalized stories about his life and existence. It inspired them to several of the lyrics on the album, especially Harald’s final battle at Stamford Bridge that was fierce and relentless, culminating in Harald Hardrada’s passing, marking the end of the Viking Age. His followers then celebrated this event as the “End of time.”

ATAVISTIA, hailing from Vancouver and known for their distinctive blend of blackened symphonic metal, has unveiled their latest single, “Dark Isolation.” This new track plunges listeners into a profound exploration of melancholy and despair, capturing the emotional essence of their forthcoming EP, Inane Ducam. Accompanied by a lyric video, which can be found HERE, the song promises an immersive auditory experience.
ATAVISTIA is gearing up to release their new EP, Inane Ducam, which means ‘I Will Lead Into Nothingness,’ on July 19, 2024. This upcoming release introduces the talents of new guitarist Elia Baghbaniyan and bassist/vocalist Spencer Budworth. Inane Ducam aims to meld diverse genres and stylistic elements while preserving the unique sound that defines ATAVISTIA.
Past praise for ATAVISTIA:
“‘Cosmic Warfare’ is a rollicking ride through metal’s propensity for duality as the quartet show off their skill at fist-banging harshness on one end and melodic layered density on the other.”- Decibel Magazine
“ATAVISTIAhave always managed to sound massive, but little more. Now, we have the massive aesthetic wedded to actual songs, nestled within an album composed with structure and discipline. The result is impressive. Scarily, there is still room to improve. Whereas before I wrote these guys off as cheap WINTERSUN knock-offs, they have now brought themselves whisper-close to their heroes. If Jari doesn’t get his act together, his band could be overtaken soon. Perhaps they have been already.”– Angry Metal Guy
