Germany’s chart-topping LORD OF THE LOST announce the release of their new live album and DVD/BluRay, LIVE at W:O:A, out August 2, 2024, via Napalm Records! Featuring strong live versions of 16 original hits and two cover songs performed together with German 90s pop sensation Blümchen, LIVE at W:O:A was filmed and recorded during the band’s first-ever performance on the Wacken main stage, as “deadliners” after the iconic headliner Iron Maiden (with whom LORD OF THE LOST has shared the stage on two European tours). Tens of thousands of fans from all over the world celebrated in front of the stage late into the night with the band, which vocalist Chris Harms describes as “a dream come true”.           

On the DVD version of LIVE at W:O:A, the particularly energetic and dynamic camera work emphasizes the extreme energy of a LORD OF THE LOST concert, as the band performs a balanced set full of surprises. Today, the band reveals a live version of “Drag Me To Hell”, a fan favorite that has over 2.2 million video views on the original version. David Frangioni + Goldin Announce Auction of Alex Van Halen Drum Kit

David Frangioni, a multi-platinum, award-winning musician, technologist, and CEO of Modern Drummer, has partnered with Goldin, the premier marketplace for collectibles, to present an extraordinary auction of iconic celebrity drum elements. This exclusive event offers collectors and music enthusiasts a rare opportunity to own a piece of rock history.

David Frangioni is renowned for his extensive contributions to the music and technology industries. His passion for drumming and technology has culminated in this unique auction, showcasing some of the most legendary drum kits in rock history from his Frangioni Foundation.

Frangioni purchased this 2012 custom Ludwig tour kit, complete with Paiste cymbals, directly from Alex, making this one of only four complete Van Halen drum kits ever to be offered for sale – each one unique to its specific Van Halen tour. Two of the four kits were recently sold at auction by Alex directly from his collection for well over $100k each with the third one selling in 2021 for over $230k at auction with proceeds going towards the Foundation. We are confident this one will exceed all expectations!

Alex Van Halen Drum Kit: Go listen to the searing drum intro at the beginning of Van Halen’s classic, “Hot for Teacher,” from their hit 1984 record and rejoice that it was a paper route that decided the musical fate of the Van Halen brothers. Born in Amsterdam on May 8, 1953, to Jan van Halen, an accomplished jazz saxophonist and clarinetist, and his wife, Eugenia, Alex, his brother Eddie, and their parents moved to Pasadena, California, in 1962. 

Though the brothers were trained as classical pianists, Alex first gravitated towards the guitar, while Eddie first picked up sticks on a $125 Japanese-made St. George Kit, with Eddie delivering papers to pay for the kit. When Eddie was away slinging papers instead of licks, Alex stepped behind the kit, honing the craft that helped launch Van Halen into the pantheon of rock gods. When Eddie heard Alex’s mastery of the drum solo on “Wipeout,” Eddie turned his attention—thankfully—to the guitar. He thus set the earliest lineup of one of the most influential music acts in rock history, with Alex’s drumming drawing inspiration from the likes of Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Buddy Rich, and Ray Phillips, which all formed to create a wholly unique and singular sound.

The offered custom 1-of-1 Ludwig drum set with pedals, hardware, and Paiste cymbals used during Van Halen’s 2012 tour in support of their album A Different Kind of Truth is presented. Alex, who uses and endorses Ludwig drums and Paiste cymbals, used this kit during the 60 shows on the tour. The tour kicked off with three warm-up shows at Café Wha? In New York City, Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, and The Forum in Inglewood before the tour kicked off in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center on Feb. 18, 2012, ending on June 26 in New Orleans. The Asia portion of the tour was canceled due to Eddie Van Halen’s emergency surgery for diverticulitis and rescheduled for 2013. The tour grossed $49.9 million with over 485,000 attendants.

The complete custom drum kit was designed and constructed for Alex by John JD Douglas, Alex’s longtime drum technician and liaison for over 20 years, and was played during the 2012 tour by one of rock’s most influential drummers. The tour-used drum kit comes with an LOA from Douglas, who states that the kit, constructed by Douglas, was sold by Alex directly to The Frangioni Foundation through him, attesting to its authenticity. Irish Thrashers SAINT SLAUGHTER Release New Single + Video ‘Led To Treason’

Harnessing the spirit of early ‘80s Thrash Metal, Dublin-based four-piece, Saint Slaughter drive their intensive brand of classic Metal into your skull with their latest belter… ‘Led To Treason’. The new single follows on from their previous release, ‘Inglorious’ – a boisterous, snarling tip of the hat to artists such as Sadus, Sodom, Kreator, and ‘Kill em’ All’-era Metallica. 

Speaking of the new track, the band says; “‘Led To Treason’ is a song about how propaganda and the war industry, take people’s ideals and urge to defend them into fuel for a meat grinder, that only serves people who view war as a bump in their stock portfolio.”

Having built a strong presence in the flourishing Irish Metal scene post-lockdown, Saint Slaughter are truly a force to be reckoned with live. The bands shows are a hurricane of good, friendly violent fun, where punters throw down their best, ‘Toxic Waltz’ pit-moves almost every time.

VENOM INC Sign with Artist Worldwide Booking Agency

Artist Worldwide, the international booking agency for some of the most respected artists in heavy metal and punk, has announced the signing of British based international heavy metal band Venom Inc. Venom Inc reunites former Venom and Atomkraft singer/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan and Venom founding guitarist Jeffrey “Mantas” Dunn, alongside their former M:Pire Of Evil bandmate Marc “JXN” Jackson on drums.

VENOM INC. just completed a successful tour through South America. During the tour Mantas, who has recently suffered a second heart attack, was replaced by former Nevermore and Annihilator and current 72 Legions guitarist Curran “Beleth” Murphy.

Last April, in an interview with Arrow Lords Of Metal, VENOM INC lead singer and bassist Tony “The Demolition Man” Dolan revealed that his former M:PIRE OF EVIL drummer Marc “JXN” Jackson would join the band as the replacement of the fired drummer Jeramie “War Machine” Kling. 

Previously, former Cradle Of Filth drummer Nick Barker stepped in to help Venom Inc play two shows in 2022. 

VENOM INC. released its second album, “There’s Only Black“, last year via Nuclear Blast Records. 

Dolan earlier stated about how guitarist Mantas’s heart attack in 2019 affected the album:
“Well, Mantas died and saw only a black void that he thought was empty… So if life is just lights… what is there when all the light goes? There’s ONLY BLACK. So in order to disclose wat lies beyond, you must abate all fear and take the journey in. Welcome inside our album. Maybe you’ll discover something inside or perhaps for you, you won’t and there will remain ‘ONLY BLACK’..

The follow-up to 2017’s “Avé”, “There’s Only Black” marks the second recording under the name VENOM INC., while Dunn and Dolan have a long history as recording artists together in VENOM, M:PIRE OF EVIL and Mantas solo projects. It also marks the VENOM INC. recording debut of drummer Jeramie “War Machine” Kling (also of IMHUMAN CONDITION), who joined the band in 2018.

FALCON TRAILS Release First Single + Video ‘Last Hearts Of Fire’ from Upcoming Album

FALCON TRAILS release ‘Last Hearts Of Fire’, the first pre-release single from the upcoming studio album ‘Coming Home’ which will be released on 19th July on Metalville Records (Rough Trade).

“Last Hearts Of Fire” is about the people who are now getting older, like the last hippies, but also a whole generation who had the same attitude. When things were very different to the kids today. It’s also a song about what it was like to listen to rock music for the first time in your life. That special moment that you won’t experience a second time.

FALCON TRAILS is a Vintage classic Rock styled three piece band featuring Finnish composer / lyricist Mika Grönholm, U.K based vocalist Lee Small, & Finnish drummer & percussionist Tom Rask.

Their music sails you deep into the seventies with a distinct vintage rock, soul and funk style. Lee and Mika share the same influences in music and in various bands from that period, building the foundation for FALCON TRAILS.

Mika say’s: ‘’It was the music we first heard as children and it stayed in our hearts and minds forever. We heard and saw those big time bands making their mark in our generation, and in our own way, we respect that spirit with our music. We take our hats off to those great acts such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Pink Floyd and many others.”

All the Music from “Coming Home” was written and recorded around years 2018 and 2019 and was completed in 2024, but the material has never has been released until now.

Mika and Lee are no strangers to the music industry. Both recorded albums and there involved in many differnet music projects before, showing their natural musical understanding.

Mika continues: ” When we were writing the tracks for the album, I did rough vocal guide melodies. Then I sent those on to Lee, and he changes what he needs to suit him and his very soulful vocal style, lifting the songs and taking them to where I wanted them to be. Both of us having such a similar style & thinking which makes the creative process very enjoyable and easy.”
