FROZEN CROWN Release New Single ‘The One’ with Official Music Video

FROZEN CROWN head out on their darkest journey yet with the first single from their upcoming album, The Legend of the Six Kings, coming October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records. “The One” starts the band’s more narrative approach, wrapping them in mysterious darkness with sweeping melodies shining bright. Inspired by fantasy literature of the 20th century, namely J. R. R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings”, the Italian six-piece is back in their strong form: grand choruses, strong riffs, and pure heavy power metal. Here they are, servants of “The One”—and they’re bringing their listeners along on the grand adventure …

FROZEN CROWN about “The One”:
“‘The One’ marks a new beginning for FROZEN CROWN, showing the wicked, dark side of the band. Singer Giada ‘Jade’ Etro turns heel, claiming the throne and the literal ‘frozen crown’, leading the wraith kings to search for The One. Sounds familiar? Visionary and talented video-maker Raoul Noise and prop designer Daria Gislon join forces with the band, giving life to the vibrant and obscure FROZEN CROWN world, between J. R. R. Tolkien’s harmonious and regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard’s brutality.”

The legend starts: FROZEN CROWN head into their very own age of gold with The Legend of the Six Kings, coming October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records. Taking a more narrative approach than previous releases, their sixth album sends the Italian band on an epic quest. The ten brand-new heavy power metal tracks expand their dynamic repertoire into a slightly darker, but nevertheless illustrious, direction. With lead vocalist Giada “Jade” Etro changing her formerly cheerful approach to claim the sinister titular frozen crown, the band shows its true form with this straightforward punch of a record.

The Legend of the Six Kings has FROZEN CROWN take the throne deserving of their band name. A powerful work of rousing heavy power metal and massive vocal arrangements, the six-piece delivers a glorious performance filled with energetic melodies and catchy choruses. The Legend of the Six Kings matures the band’s trademark sound and makes sure that these six kings and queens will remain what the title states: legends. The album is open for pre-order now—find various formats below.

FROZEN CROWN about The Legend of the Six Kings:
“With our sixth album—our second on Napalm Records—we continue our search for the quintessential FROZEN CROWN tune, distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs, stripping away all unnecessary frills.
The Legend of the Six Kings draws directly from our debut album The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant, as we are—thanks to a brilliant newly extended team—finally able to do justice to what we had in mind with the original concept of the band. The visionary genius of Raoul Noise (the video maker behind all our new videos and band photos), the masterful craftsmanship of Daria Gislon (who designed and built the throne and the literal ‘frozen crown’) and of course the outstanding artistic talent of Sheila Franco (who hand painted our album cover art) gave life to the vibrant, obscure, frozen world we had in mind since the very beginning of the band, somewhere between J. R. R. Tolkien’s harmonious and regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard’s brutality.
The Legend of the Six Kings brings not only new visuals, but also an empowered sound, with the young war hearts getting older on the battlefield and becoming an increasingly leading force of the Crown (with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Niso Tomasini becoming a more integral part of the songwriting together with singer Giada ‘Jade’ Etro and mastermind Federico Mondelli) and new warriors joining our ranks (Aleksandra Stamenkovic and her scorching, old school, abrasive guitar leads).
This sixth album depicts the strength of our six band members, and our personal idea of Power Metal infused in ten catchy tracks touching the most varied nuances of the genre, from raw and uncompromising Speed Metal, to the sumptuous magniloquence of Symphonic Metal, to the occasional linear chaos of Melodic Death Metal, but always sounding as FROZEN CROWN as ever!”

The speedy opener “Lightning in the Sky” situates the band on a battlefield, swords shining bright and fire in their eyes, setting the theme for the rest of the album on which FROZEN CROWN deal blow after winning blow. “Who Wants to Burn in Heaven” determines the direction the band takes with their campaign: the choir-powered, groovy song illustrates Hell as the realm of their eternal rule, calling on their legions to join in on their chants live. The following epos, “Reborn”, is a powerful anthem of steadfastness as well as a bolstering tale about team spirit. “The One” continues the theme of The Legend of the Six Kings being inspired by Tolkien’s masterpiece “The Lord of the Rings”, wrapping the band in mysterious darkness with sweeping songs shining bright. Here, FROZEN CROWN also show magnificent instrumental abilities through a majestic guitar solo where the three guitars intertwine, beautifully harmonizing together.  Going extra catchy, the Italian band slides in a cover of “Iris”: originally by American alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls, this 1998 track became an international superhit. FROZEN CROWN take its power and make it power metal, covering the entire spectrum from waltz-time ballad to high-speed drums and vocals full of pathos. “I just want you to know who I am” should be a given thing hereafter! “Winter Hearts” contrasts this venture into the mainstream instantly with easily recognizable heavy riffs to start, growls to hammer in the message, and a chantable chorus to close the deal—a grand track, reminiscent of the band’s classic songs from their 2018 debut, The Fallen King. The epic storytelling continues throughout melancholic “River of Time” and assertive “Through the Fire”, singalong potential included. “To the Stars” gifts The Legend of the Six Kings additional live character before the title track, “The Legend of the Six Kings”, rises to full glory. Nearing epic melodic death metal in its growled verses, the song is another duet between Jade and guitarist Federico Mondelli, who adds fierce growls and clean vocals.

IGNEA Release First Single + Video ‘Dreams of Lands Unseen’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 25, 2026

Ukrainian modern metal band IGNEA releases the first single from their upcoming album, Monumental. “Dreams of Lands Unseen” shares a name with the four-piece’s 2023 album but is a step towards something new. The single explores the race to space during the Cold War and therefore a time when war-ridden humanity projected its greatest hopes into the cosmos far beyond our known worlds. Bursting with energy right from the start, “Dreams of Lands Unseen” combines a punchy, driving riff with fierce growls.

To deepen the nostalgic atmosphere, shimmering keyboard and theremin solos evoke a distinctly 1980s vibe. This matches the monolith of an album that IGNEA are about to release: Monumental, out October 23, 2026 via Napalm Records, explores and reflects on nostalgia in all its forms.

Helle Bohdanova adds:
“This song is about the blend of ambition and illusion, where space wasn’t an escape but a conquest shaped by ideology and dreams. Across Ukraine and many post-Soviet countries, mosaics still depict this promised future: cosmonauts, rockets, bold visions of worlds yet unseen. We shot the video in black and white on purpose, reaching for the vibe of old sci-fi rather than modern blockbuster spectacle, using Cooke Varotal lenses, the optics favored by Kubrick. In the end, I think the song isn’t nostalgic for space exploration itself, so much as for an aesthetic that was itself already nostalgic, looking back at a future that was already passing. Still, I guess each of us has dreamt of becoming an astronaut at least once… haven’t you?”

Helle Bohdanova comments on the video:
“In the video, actors portraying cosmonauts wear real Soviet space helmets and the bottom layers of Soviet space suits that were also used for stratosphere flights. This is because in a totalitarian regime, sourcing real items for film productions from adjacent ministries was often easier than building fake props—since films were ‘ordered’ by the leadership, and everyone was expected to contribute to their production. After appearing in a Soviet-era space film, the items remained stored at the film studio for decades afterward. The cosmonaut costumes featured in the video were specifically rented from the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studios in Kyiv, home to Ukraine’s largest historic costume collection. On the night of June 14–15, 2026, the studio was hit in a Russian strike on Kyiv, destroying the costume workshop along with roughly 100,000 historical pieces from the archive. The same strike also damaged IGNEA’s own headquarters.”

Monumental
is IGNEA’s second full-length album that was written during the full-scale war in Ukraine. The recording process mostly took place in the winter of 2025-2026, during icy temperatures and long power outages in Kyiv.

Helle Bohdanova says about Monumental:
“Back in the 17th century, nostalgia was considered a deadly disease—and in many ways, it still is. It’s a universal feeling experienced by every human being, pulling us toward a past that felt gentler than it truly was, especially during the bitter moments of the present. Much of this album was inspired by modernist architecture—concrete giants built to signal progress and a brighter future, now slowly decaying. They’ve become a sort of memory box: monuments to unrealized dreams, where the future that was once imagined never arrived, yet continues to echo through the ruins and bright mosaics.”

Pre-order your copy of Monumental NOW

On Monumental, IGNEA takes the listener on nostalgic rides, with all their ups and downs, expressed in music and lyrics, carrying a sense of gentle sadness and reflection, as nostalgia can bring back beautiful memories, darkened by the awareness that these moments will never happen again.

Following Dreams of Lands Unseen (2023), the band navigates through unique facets of the past across nine tracks—from the grandeur and ambition of Cold War space dreams to the melancholy of urban decay and forgotten modernist structures, all the way to the emotional weight of personal and collective memory. All lyrics on Monumental were written by vocalist Helle Bohdanova. The music was composed by keyboardist Yevhenii Zhytniuk, with additional contributions from Helle Bohdanova. Mixing and mastering were handled by Grammy Award-nominated producer Jacob Hansen, known for his work with bands such as DELAIN, Amaranthe, Volbeat, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, and Epica.

Monumental tracklisting:

  1. Darkness
  2. Dreams of Lands Unseen
  3. Presence of the Past
  4. Prefab (feat. Combichrist)
  5. What Buildings Dream of
  6. I am in Hell
  7. Between No Longer and Not Yet
  8. Harmony Manufactured (feat. Hiraes)
  9. Nadir

Musically, Monumental blends technical metal riffs, industrial textures, atmospheric interludes, grandiose choruses, and melodic passages to mirror “nostalgic rides,” where darkness, reflection, and awe collide. Visually and conceptually, IGNEA drew inspiration from retrofuturism, modernist and monumental architecture, and industrial design, creating a world where sound, imagery, and memory converge. The album stands as an ode to the past, a meditation on lost and unrealized futures, and a celebration of the enduring beauty hidden within forgotten places.

HOUR OF PENANCE Begin Recording New Album

Italian tech-death masters HOUR OF PENANCE have officially begun recording their tenth studio album & follow-up to “Devotion” from 2024. The recordings are taking place at Bloom Recording Studio with producer & bass player Marco Mastrobuono.

HOUR OF PENANCE comments: “With immense pleasure we have finally walked through the door of the Bloom Recording Studio once again, the same studio where we’ve recorded our last 2 albums (Misotheism and Devotion ) with our bass player – gear nerd – producer Marco Mastrobuono behind the mixing desk. Our drummer Giacomo Torti have just finished tracking the drums, we will share some footage of the recordings on our socials, so stay tuned for more. The recording process will take a while but we’re aiming to have a final version of the album by the end of the summer.”

Established on the verge of the millenium in Rome, the band has extended its partnership with Agonia Records in December 2025. The title and release date of the new album remain unannounced.

Setting up drums for the album recordings

From their early output to their signature recordings, HOUR OF PENANCE has maintained a distinct, powerful, and grimly enchanting sound profile. The band has consistently shaped their sonic identity through a complex, crushing, and surgical blizzard of technical death metal, characterized by hyper speeds and untamed brutality, while conveying perceptive social metaphors within dark imagery and lyrics.

With nine album under the belt, HOUR OF PENANCE is considered one of the most talented and intense representatives of the genre originating in Italy. It took the band three installments to break out of the local scene and make a splash on the international stage. In addition to Europe, their tours have taken them to the USA, Canada, Australia, and Asia, where they have played as support for bands such as Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Devildriver, Deicide, Nile, and Behemoth.

HOUR OF PENANCE released two albums on Agonia Records: “Devotion” (2024), an anthem to the futility of war with no light at the end of the tunnel, and “Misotheism” (2019), a pitch-black and brutally intense death metal soundtrack to a collapsing universe. The group is fast approaching a new chapter in their journey, featuring guitarist and longest-serving member Giulio Moschini, vocalist and guitarist Paolo Pieri, bassist Marco Mastrobuono, and drummer Giacomo Torti.

More news on the band’s tenth album will be revealed soon.

FERALIA Premiere New Album “Ultima Requies” Ahead of Release

Black Metal Promotion is now hosting the exclusive premiere of “Ultima Requies”, the new album from Italian-Swedish black metal entity FERALIA, set for release on June 26, 2026 via ATMF.

The band’s third full-length further expands their distinctive interpretation of the genre, combining raw riffs with a profound sense of introspection. Built around themes of death, memory and ancient symbolism, the album moves between violent eruptions and more immersive, solemn passages, creating a deeply evocative journey through darkness and transcendence. “Ultima Requies” stands as a powerful and uncompromising statement, where intensity and spirituality coexist in a singular vision.

Stream the album at THIS LOCATION.

With this third full-length, FERALIA delve deeper into their singular vision of Black Metal, forging a work that resists easy categorization. “Ultima Requies” is neither rooted in old school orthodoxy nor aligned with the polished tendencies of contemporary production. Instead, it stands as a raw and evocative offering, where abrasive textures and ritualistic atmospheres converge into something austere, immersive and profoundly spiritual.

The sound remains anchored in a sense of the sacred, drawing from arcane and occult dimensions tied to the archaic Roman world. Each composition unfolds as a passage, evoking forgotten rites, liminal states and the tension between life and death, presence and absence.

The artwork of “Ultima Requies” reflects this vision, depicting a reinterpretation of the necromantic ritual of Erichto, the Thessalian witch described in “De Bello Civili” by Lucan. A figure feared even by the gods, Erichto was said to raise fallen soldiers from the battlefield during one of the most turbulent phases of Roman civil war. This imagery embodies the album’s core: a confrontation with death not as an end, but as a threshold to forbidden knowledge.

Following the path opened by “Helios Manifesto” and “Under Stige / Over Dianam”, FERALIA further refine their language, balancing raw intensity with a deeply contemplative undercurrent. The result is an album that feels both immediate and timeless, grounded in the physicality of Black Metal yet reaching toward something intangible and eternal.

ENDSEEKER Unleash David Hasselhoff Cover ‘True Survivor’ with Official Video

German death metal horde ENDSEEKER are pleased to unleash a special cover and accompanying video of their rendition of David Hasselhoff’s “True Survivor,” featuring Lord Of The Lost. The track appears on the band’s fiery farewell EP, Coffin Born, released on June 19th via Metal Blade Records.

“In the first place, we just love this song,” the band elaborates. “It’s from the movie Kung Fury which absolutely everyone must watch, because it’s a fucking masterpiece and this song is probably the best performance of Hasselhoff ever. We asked our friends in Lord Of The Lost if they would like to join us for this song because we felt like it needed some extra glitter. We think it turned out amazing! Two bands from Hamburg from different genres united in an unexpected cover song. Super-fun project and quite outside the box for a death metal band.“

Watch ENDSEEKER‘s previously released video for “Enemies of Peace” HERE.

“We’ve accomplished more than we have ever imagined in our wildest dreams,” reflects the band on their final release. “We played with fantastic bands, played super-cool festivals, and released four albums and two EPs of which we are extremely proud. We were blessed with great and loyal fans and managed to stay a consistent lineup throughout our whole career. But after grinding for more than a decade and dedicating so much time and energy to this band, we feel like it’s time to move on to other projects. We wanted to end this band like we started – as very good friends. We started with an EP and we end it with an EP. It just feels right to do this now, while we still have the power to deliver a great farewell performance as well in the studio as on stage.“

Since their 2015 debut EP Corrosive Revelation, each release has hoisted the Hamburg quintet further up the death metal mountain, with Mount Carcass (2021) and Global Worming (2023) receiving widespread acclaim.

Produced by the band with drums engineered by Eike Freese (Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Helloween), Coffin Born stands as ENDSEEKER‘s swan song, shaped by the intense bond of a lineup that remained together throughout their whole career.
