Over The Under has been active since 2016, and their real breakthrough came just a year later. In 2017, the band quit their jobs and put everything on the line, embarking on a tour that would go down in history for the independent scene — 100 shows in 100 days, played day after day, non-stop. This crazy idea wasn’t a marketing gimmick, but a declaration of freedom and independence, which led to a world record and opened doors for further performances across Europe. Since then, Over The Under has performed over 300 shows and completed several European tours, spanning the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia, and the Czech Republic.
The most unexpected step in the band’s history, however, was the creation of their own music club. The Over The Under Pub in Bydgoszcz was created practically from scratch—without financial backing, but with the enormous support of volunteers, friends, and local scene members. Kor and Czaki built a venue that quickly became the epicenter of the Bydgoszcz underground: a space for concerts, debuts by young bands, charity events, and performances by artists from Poland and abroad. This is a rare example of a band establishing an official club under its own name not as a supplement to their career, but as a true extension of it.
Although OTU Pub became the center of the band’s activities for two years, today Over The Under are returning to the source—playing concerts and creating new music. A new single will soon be released, paving the way for a new album and tour. The band shows no signs of slowing down, once again proving that rock ‘n’ roll isn’t nostalgia, but vibrant, pulsating energy.
How many bands do you know that not only play concerts but build their own stage, their own venue, and their own rules? Serpent Gates, the bold new torchbearer of traditional heavy metal, will release their debut album, The Veil of Darkness, on February 20th. The central Finnish band’s showcase of heavy metal prowess has been a dream for decades. But it is only in recent years that their passionate approach to music combined with hard work has made their dreams come true. In addition to the core duo of drummer Juho Hakalax and guitarist Tuomas Västilä, it is also worth mentioning Antony Parviainen, known from Psychework, who lends his voice to the album as a session vocalist.
Composer Juho Hakalax says about the third and final single from the album, The Veil of Darkness:
“Our upcoming debut album isn’t exactly laid-back, as slow songs don’t really come easily to this composer. However, the title track of this album has a slightly more dynamic feel, and the atmosphere has been deepened with synths and clear sounding guitars, among other things. The vocals follow the winding tones of the song and raise its energy to new heights as the chorus crashes down from above, loud and clear.”

Just last week, Bay Area thrash legends EXODUS announced their 12th studio album, Goliath. Their first album with singer Rob Dukes since 2010, the band’s Napalm Records debut, and the follow-up to their highest-charting record ever will be out March 20, 2026! Along with it, the band revealed the massive opening track “3111”—whose video couldn’t be released due to the footage being too brutal for YouTube.

Set around the drug war in Mexico’s Ciudad Juárez, sinister “3111” is an intense song showcasing not only EXODUS’ ever-increasing dynamic approach, even decades into their historic reign, but also their willingness to go exactly where it hurts. Emerging hungrier than ever in 2026, with Goliath, EXODUS reinforces their eternal foothold at the top of thrash metal’s hierarchy with 10 of their most diverse, anthemic emissions to date. Further fueled by the widely embraced return of iconic late-era frontman Rob Dukes—first appearing on 2005’s Shovel Headed Kill Machine—the album boasts what the band describes as the performance of his life. Goliath is EXODUS’ most collaborative record in their four decade-plus history, featuring songs written by several band members and guest contributions from Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) and violinist Katie Jacoby.

Goliath wastes no time proving as massive as its name, with a sinister introduction opening “3111”. Ode to owning one’s own volatility “Hostis Humani Generis” features a palpable lyrical delivery from Rob Dukes that cuts like crystal amid frenetic riffs, before rolling into “The Changing Me”. The track’s introductory notes cascade into hair-raising rhythms, forming one of the band’s most anthemic offerings – blending menace and melody with the cleans of guest Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) together with Tom Hunting and at the end both Peter and Robb scream off the song. Harmonic dual axe acrobatics from resident guitar legends Gary Holt and Lee Altus. “Promise You This” incites mosh pit treachery with explosive energy, cyclonic riffs and turbocharged soloing from Holt and Altus, prior to colossal title track “Goliath” simmering the tempo down with winding, malevolent leads, towering drums and ominous string work from Katie Jacoby coupling with intricate guitars. The album standout showcases the band’s ever-increasingly dynamic approach, even decades into their historic reign. Tracks like “Beyond The Event Horizon” and “2 Minutes Hate” provide EXODUS’ trademark deadly dose of thrash theatricality – the latter boasting one of the album’s most grimacing, grooving pit primers – while undeniably 90s-tinged metallic charm attacks alongside drummer Tom Hunting and bassist Jack Gibson’s unmistakable rhythmic rage on tracks like “Violence Works”. The nearly eight-minute epic “Summon Of The God Unknown” turns the danger dial to max capacity, setting the stage with a wicked introductory passage before traversing a variegated passage of trudging riffs and heavy metal melody. Finnish blackened death metal band Karelian Warcry releases their third album “Veripellot” on March 6th. Now they have released the second and final single “Horisontit” before their new full length.
“Horisontit” is a strong cross-section of Karelian Warcry’s music. At the heart of the track is a forward-rolling armoured train, and a mid-section rising to majestic heights observes the horizon from a bird’s-eye perspective. The lyrics are a cathartic journey to a liminal point where everything falls apart in your hands, yet there is nothing to do but keep moving forward. Vocal tracks originally intended as demo vocals remained on the final recording, dictated by death.

The work of Veripellot album took shape over the years 2010–2024, nearly coming to a halt following the death of the band’s founding member, vocalist-guitarist M.I. Mikkonen. Veripellot became a composite, uniting Karelian Warcry’s two different line-ups and the pandemonium of the entire timespan.
Veripellot is a study of war, grief, and the dark sides of humanity. The themes rise from the band members’ personal experiences, collective traumas, and a shared interest in the events of their home region and its war history. The album is, on one hand, a memorial writing for fallen friends, and on the other, a glimpse into the horrors of the Finnish Civil War. On Veripellot, the rough thunder of war resounds — and at times an oppressive stillness.
Veripellot consists of nine distinct tracks. Musically, the album is a step forward for the band — groovier, yet straightforwardly uncompromising. Progressive elements have also been brought into the mix.
Following the global critical acclaim of their debut album Amnesia (2023, Eclipse Records), Munich-based Alternative Metal outfit ANTIROPE returns with their most emotionally exposed work to date. Today, the band officially premiered the music video for their new single “Zero,” the first music video from their highly anticipated second full-length album, Bring Me To Zero, which will be released on May 1st, 2026, via Eclipse Records. Directed by guitarist Patrick Fleischer and filmed within the intimate confines of the band’s own Lungfull Studios, the music video for “Zero” serves as a masterclass in minimalism and emotional weight. Eschewing traditional narratives or high-budget spectacle, the visual focuses on reduction and clarity to mirror the song’s themes of isolation and the desire for a spiritual reset. The song itself explores the sensation of awakening within disorientation. It navigates the chaos of a world that feels increasingly illusory, searching for a point of stillness.
“Zero feels like being lost in a world that’s asleep while everything around you screams,” explains vocalist Slaven Stokic. “It’s a wish to reset and clear the chaos. Visually, we utilized a recurring motif of a bedsheet, serving as a symbolic barrier between inner turmoil and outward expression. This fragile veil represents the distance and suppression inherent in the human condition. By keeping the lighting muted and the color palette restrained, we wanted to ensure that nothing distracts from the raw vulnerability of the performance.”
Bring Me To Zero marks a significant evolution for the Munich-based band. Produced by guitarist Partick Fleischer (Lacrimas Profundere, Darkseed, Alev) at Lungfull Studios, the upcoming album promises a heavier, more hook-driven sound characterized by bold vocal arrangements and an explosive rhythmic backbone. Overall, the album sounds massive without sacrificing intimacy, letting every riff, breath, and impact land with deliberate weight. Antirope’s sound remains rooted in the primal heaviness of Black Sabbath, the brooding grit of Soundgarden, and the hypnotic sprawl of Neurosis, yet the band never settles for homage. Instead, they carve a distinctly modern identity where dense, down-tuned riffs collide with psychedelic textures, and moments of crushing volume dissolve into eerie calm. Vocalist Slaven Stokic moves effortlessly between raw urgency and haunted restraint, guiding the listener through an album that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a psychological descent. The album contains eleven tracks, including standouts like “Zero,” “Intervention,” “Afterglow,” and a cover of the Cream classic “Sunshine Of Your Love.”Bring Me to Zero balances brutality with beauty, never letting one exist without the other.
