KORPIKLAANI Release Video for Song ‘Harhainen Höyhen’

Finnish Folk Metal Superstars KORPIKLAANI have released a video for the song ‘Harhainen höyhen‘ from their latest album, Rankarumpu.

KORPIKLAANI‘s twelfth studio album Rankarumpu is classic folk metal – fast, energetic and dynamic, showing once again they are the leaders in this genre.

The closing song ‘Harhainen höyhen‘ is slightly different in tone from the rest of the album as it leans more towards a melancholic side, which is not only being reflected in the song’s lyrics dealing with mental health issues, but also noticeable in the atmospheric new music video directed by Miika Hakala that’s out today.

“‘Harhainen höyhen’ is a song that deals with mental health problems and how a person can think they are weak and be susceptible to problems, as the weakest and poorest feather. Then you can hear bad things in your head which at worst can lead to committing suicide. I myself have been in a situation where I heard a voice in my head that said that my clock had rung a long time ago and that I could leave this world. STEVE HACKETT Announces Reissues of Classical Catalogue; “Bay Of Kings” & “Momentum”, Out in August

Legendary rock guitarist Steve Hackett & InsideOutMusic are pleased to announce reissues of his classical catalogue, beginning in August 2024 with ‘Bay Of Kings’ & ‘Momentum’.

Steve comments:  “My love of classical guitar began to coalesce with both Bay of Kings and Momentum, which showed another side of the guitar. This was the opposite of Rock ‘n Roll… A more romantic and personal approach already hinted at within both the Genesis music and my solo work. I’m proud that these albums are getting a second lease of life.”

Both albums have been newly remastered for vinyl, and will be available as Gatefold 180g LP’s in both black and limited coloured vinyl editions.

New digipak CD editions will also be available, and they can all be pre-ordered for a 2nd August 2024 release here:

Hamburg heavy hitters Half Me release their visceral new track ‘Fatalist’, following the exhilarating previous singles ‘Nothing Left To Lose But The Chains’, ‘Quitter Talk’ and ‘Concrete Ceiling’. The new track and video are out now via Arising Empire.

The track channels raw frustration with a disposable society, combining bone-crushing heaviness with anguished, soul-piercing vocals. ‘Fatalist’ showcases the band’s relentless drive to push genre boundaries, marking another bold step in their musical evolution.

Half Me have recently been nominated for the Heavy Music Awards 2024 in the category ‘Best International Breakthrough Artists’. The event will take place on 22nd August and votes can be cast HERE.

Formed in Hamburg in 2018, Half Me – guitarists Chris and Julius, vocalist Chris, drummer Max and bassist Tobias – are one of the latest additions to the Arising Empire roster. Musically, Half Me blend a modern rendition of metal and hardcore with highlights of 90s nu-metal. Pounding riffs and breakdowns are accompanied by brutal, yet sometimes elegant, vocals that all balance together to formulate the band’s own distinctive sound. 

In just a few years, Half Me have made an impact in the music scene by self-producing their music and videos, displaying their intensive and energetic demeanour. Debuting with four singles initially, it was their their single ‘Exitwound’ (featuring Jack Bergin of Void of Vision) that gave the group a breakthrough and landed the band in the spotlight of Knotfest’s Countdown to Oblivion.

Riding the high of their recent success, Half Me’s highly anticipated debut album SOMA was met with huge critical acclaim. 2024 promises to be a big year for this fiery quintet.
