Today marks the official release of the new single “Blood Dress” from the rock/ghotic project MUSIC FROM THE DARK. This highly anticipated track promises to take listeners on a dark and enveloping sonic journey, further solidifying the project’s reputation as an innovative force in the music scene.

“Blood Dress” represents an evolution of the Music From The Dark project’s signature sound, mixing rock and gothic elements with eerie melodies and evocative lyrics. The song explores themes of passion, mystery and introspection, with a nuanced production that captures the emotional essence of the project.
Behind Music From The Dark is an enigmatic duo that has worked tirelessly to create a unique sonic experience. “Blood Dress” is the result of months of meticulous writing and production, demonstrating an unparalleled dedication to musical quality and originality. The single is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.

And also, while waiting to see the official video of the single “Blood Dress”, we leave you the video clip of the previous single “My Secret Suicide” so as to give you those atmospheres that by now have made the Music From The Dark project a recognizable brand from the start!

From the Band:
“For the cover, we thought of the single as if it were a new release of a real record… a new challenge where we dare to do something different every time that arouses interest…”

Despair leads to isolation, isolation discourages, everything decays!!!
From this dark point in life takes strength the project Music From The Dark +++
A deep black soul duo that draws from bands like the cure, paradise lost, katatonia, joy division to unite in a deep sound of sad and decadent torment.

Line up:
MARCO MAGNONI (VOCALS/GUITARS).
Historical voice/guitarist of BLACKAGE with an active record “New world order” released 1998 x Collapse Records. At that time BLACKAGE will back up Cradle of Filth and left for a tour in which they participated in many festivals including Beach bum in Jesolo with headliner Marilyn Manson. There will be participations in other Goth/Dark projects but the idea of reuniting with his old friend and historical drummer “MAX” to found “Music from the dark ” will happen only in 2020 during the black time of covid..
In that forced period of isolation and total darkness came the band’s most decadent and despair-filled pieces.

MAX TOSI (DRUMS)
Born as a drummer in the very early era of Modenese heavy metal. Of clear Classic Metal mold , shares the very first youthful experiences with “MARCO” establishing a friendship that has always been maintained over the years despite different were projects and musical directions. Always belonging to the underground fabric participates in several projects ranging from Classic Metal , Stooner and finally Horror Rock with local bands preferring projects aimed at the creation of original music. From him the idea to restart from a historical friendship, absolutely trusted with which to concretize musical models and approaches now lost in time.

SPECIAL GUEST “Blood Dress”: Betty Tagliati (FEMALE VOCAL) + DanicannaDani (KEYBOARDS & BASS)

DARKEND Share New Single ‘De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis’

Italian black metal act DARKEND prepares for the June 14th arrival of their “Viaticum” full-length through Time To Kill Records, today, a video for “De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis” has been unveiled. Watch it HERE.

“‘De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis’ is the Eye of Awareness observing itself, in a Time beyond time and in a Space beyond space. In its serene and ever-capturing Gaze, the living dead perpetually aiming to devour the Incarnated Miracle is banished from all planes of Existence and thus deprived of any of its illusory power.
Entirely composed by Animae, the song develops through riffs and melodies that embody both the strength of that Fire incinerating the ego as well as the touching uproar of the River of Being finally free to flow without boundaries. Light from where there’s no Light. Living Water to the rotten flesh”.

“Viaticum” flows out from the Sacred Spaciousness beyond duality, enshrouding its Silent Nature with the voice of ancient ceremonial chants, dungeon synth ambience and sulphur riffs engraved on arcane metal patterns. Combining shades that span from Mercyful Fate to Dissection (“An Incautious Exhumation Of What Lies Beneath Forgotten Ground”) and from Dead Can Dance (“In Your Multitude”) to Arvo Pärt (“In My Multitude”), the album enlightens an immersive and cathartic pathway towards the deepest hidden fields of who we really are.

Tracklist:

01. In My Multitude
02. An Incautious Exhumation Of What Lies Beneath Forgotten Ground
03. De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis
04. An Ancient Plague Has Silently Worn Our Garments As Its Throne
05. In Your Multitude

DARKEND is the band fronted by Animae (also guest vocalist for GAAHL’S WYRD on various European festivals & venues).

After rather humble beginnings mostly inspired by orchestral extreme metal, DARKEND developed a quite peculiar artistic style blending black metal patterns, ritual ambience, dark classic metal riffs and solos in the vein of Mercyful Fate/Angel Witch and a ritualistic, hypnotic vibe explicitly created in order to generate a deep sonic & spiritual transcendence.

Having toured Europe thrice alongside CRADLE OF FILTH, ROTTING CHRIST, SAMAEL, MELECHESH & KEEP OF KALESSIN, the band had the privilege to collaborate with some of the most renowned artists of the scene: while Attila Csihar (MAYHEM), Niklas Kvarforth (SHINING) & Sakis Tolis (ROTTING CHRIST) offered their voices for “The Canticle Of Shadows” (2016, Non Serviam Records), the profound friendship between Gaahl & Animae bloomed a breathtaking collaboration with WARDRUNA’s Lindy-Fay Hella immortalized on the album “Spiritual Resonance” (2019, Dark Essence Records).

The band displays some intense live rituals under their belt (culminated with an exhibition at the iconic Norwegian MIDGARDSBLOT FEST 2022 alongside WARDRUNA, HELIUNG & ROTTING CHRIST), an experience not to be missed.

Line-up:

Animae – Vocals
Acamar – Lead guitars
Ashes – Lead guitars
Vinterskog – Bass
Antarktica – Ambience
Valentz – Drums

FEED THEM DEATH Premiere ‘Two Minutes Hate’ Single from Upcoming Album

Cvlt Nation is hosting the exclusive premiere of “Two Minutes Hate“, a blistering track from FEED THEM DEATH‘s new album “The Malady“. This latest preview from the band’s new effort is now streaming at THIS LOCATION.

“The Malady” is the fifth release by Death-Grind project FEED THEM DEATH, and it will be released via Brucia Records on June 20th, 2024 on digital and a special limited edition containing CD, Tape with low-fi one take rehearsals, a personalized notebook and a pin all placed inside a black mortuary bag.

3 years exactly after the critically acclaimed “Negative”, FEED THEM DEATH are back with another slab of fast, dissonant and chaotic anti-music.

Eleven new tracks eccentrically fusing Grindcore, Death Metal, D-beat, Sludge, 80’s Crust-Punk / Thrashcore and Noise Rock with a deconstructed and improvisational jazz sensibility.

FEED THEM DEATH was formed in 2017 by Void, and have so far released 3 full length albums and 1 EP, building a reputation for their fiercely experimental and dissonant approach to extreme music.

For the first time since its inception featuring a full line-up, with “The Malady” the band delivers an unrelenting, unhinged, full frontal assault to the senses, creating something raw, sometimes flawed, but always viscerally real.

The lyrics are once again central to delivery of Feed Them Death message, in continuity with both the punk hardcore early scene and the project’s own ethos of utilizing a vast array of counter-cultural references to engage the listeners in a fierce critique of the world around us.

A “fuck you all”, however spelt with literacy and intelligence, borrowing from George Orwell’s 1984, or from classical references like the paraboles of Sisyphus and Icarus, to reflect upon universals such as hate, guilt or human frailty, towards a possible redemption offered by the power of individuality and the freedom of thought: because yes, “People are a malady” and what we think we know is often “Deleterious”, but “Above All… and so below – tumult is the only thing aglow!”

FFO: Napalm Death, Dystopia, Heresy, Septic Death.

Tracklist:

1 – Above All… (01:14)
2 – Two Minutes Hate (01:56)
3 – Autopsy (03:08)
4 – Deleterious (03:18)
5 – Them, The Guiltless (03:36)
6 – D.E.A.T.H. (02:58)
7 – The Malady (01:58)
8 – Stygian Tide (02:33)
9 – Panopticism II (03:18)
10 – Two More Minutes (01:54)
11 – …And So Below (01:51)

Swedish metal force HILD is thrilled to unveil the lyric video for their latest track, “Wage War with a Wraith.” This release is a taste of what’s to come from their highly anticipated EP, “The Slayeress,” set to drop on May 31st.

The lyric video, crafted by the renowned Hammerblaze Design, adds a visual dimension to the band’s intense sound. Hammerblaze Design, spearheaded by Lars Broddersson, former drummer of Marduk, has brought a compelling visual representation to the ferocious riffs and haunting melodies that define “Wage War with a Wraith.”

Listen to the previous single The Slayeress here

“We’re incredibly excited to share ‘Wage War with a Wraith’ with our fans,” said HILD’s frontman, Lars Broddersson. “This song is a glimpse into the relentless spirit of ‘The Slayeress,’ and Lars’s visual artistry has perfectly captured its essence. We can’t wait for everyone to experience the full EP.”

“The Slayeress” promises to be a monumental addition to HILD’s discography, featuring five tracks of unrelenting metal mastery. Fans can expect a journey through aggressive soundscapes and lyrical profundity, cementing HILD’s place in the metal scene.

HILD is a Swedish metal band known for their explosive sound and dark, evocative lyrics. Since their formation, they have been pushing the boundaries of the genre, captivating audiences worldwide with their dynamic performances and studio releases.

The Slayeress is our second recording. In much, it is an outlet of power and self-realisation. To find purpose in the struggles of existence and to face up to your fateful battles with a pure fearless heart, knowing that whether you survive or not you are doing something true and meaningful. You are doing what you are meant to do, in the hands of the ancient forces that guide you. And in the cycle of life and death, through ageless wars and strife, we live, laugh and love. We die, weep and hate. Over and over again. Death is the play, war the playground. Life, a brief reward to enjoy. Where we protect the beauty around us.

ADAMANTRA Release Second Single + Lyric Video ‘Treacherous Valour’ from Upcoming Album

Photographer: Raimo Dahl @ hopeaajavaloa.fi

“When normally it takes tens or even hundreds of different pictures to get that top one that would be used, we decided to go against the grain to get that perfect atmosphere. We took a single photo using 19th century wet plate photography technique. This way there was no need to decide upon which picture to use. It was a one shot. That’s it.”

A month ago, prog metallers Adamantra ended the 10-year silence with their An Unfinished Tale single, which now is succeeded by a new one called Treacherous Valour. This song is also found on the yet to be named third album. The track feature Mikael Salo and Erik Kraemer on backing vocals.

Bass player Jukka Hoffrén shares few words of the backgrounds of both the single and the video:

”This song is inspired by movies Born on the Fourth of July and Rambo: First Blood. It is a story of a soldier who has been heavily wounded in battle. As he is lying in a military hospital in bandages, there is an enemy soldier lying in a bed next to him. Together they end up thinking, that even though only a moment ago they were trying to kill each other, now they both are striving only to survive. They do not wish any ill to each other.

This song also considers the feelings of former soldiers on how societies and countries, especially the U.S.A., have treated the veterans of wars in Vietnam and other countries. Even though they have served their countries and paid a high price for it, back home they have ended up as abandoned pariahs. The song is also dealing with those mental injuries that the terrors of war can cause to a human mind: traumas, states of fear and difficulties to process these matters.”
