THREAT SIGNAL Reveal Details of New Album “Revelations” & Premiere First Single ‘Non-Essential’

Canadian metal powerhouse THREAT SIGNAL returns with its first new album in nine years. Titled “Revelations”, the 10-track full-length is scheduled for release on March 27th via Agonia Records.

Listen to the energetic first single, “Non-Essential”, below.

Nine long years after “Disconnect” (2017), the Canadian metal powerhouse, THREAT SIGNAL, re-emerges to blur the lines between brutal intensity, energetic delivery and melodic hooks that pierce deep. Born out of personal struggle and inner chaos, “Revelations” weaves an intricate tapestry of tight instrumentation, ornate guitar work, and engaging vocals. It envelopes the listener in its pulsating torrent of emotions, reflective lyrics haunted by deep-seated demons, and immersive songwriting that personifies THREAT SIGNAL’s leading themes of resilience and strife within.

The band’s characteristic blend of metal involves elements of technical thrash metal, melodic death metal, groove metal, and metalcore, distinguished by dynamic vocals, technical proficiency and guitar solos full of flair. Apart from long-standing members – vocalist  Jon Howard, bassist Pat Kavanagh and guitarist Travis Montgomery (ex-Jeff Loomis) – “Revelations” sees the band reunite with drummer Joey Muha, and welcomes guitarist Oswin Wong.

“Revelations” was mastered by Grammy Award winning engineer Tod Jensen (Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC) at the renowned Sterling Sound studio in USA, and mixed, recorded, produced, and engineered by vocalist Jon Howard at his Woodward Avenue studio in Canada. The cover artwork was created by Travis Smith (Death, Cynic, King Diamond).

“Revelations” marks the band’s fifth album since the critically acclaimed debut “Under Reprisal” (2006), which won the Canadian Recording Of The Year Award at Hamilton Music Awards. Their installments – also including “Vigilance” (2009), “Threat Signal” (2011) and “Disconnect” (2016) – have met with unrelenting hype, with each generating growing interest within the metal community. Combining the complexity of thrash metal, with a more contemporary groove sound involving technical rhythms and melodic musical passage, THREAT SIGNAL has expanded its recognizability on an international scale. The band’s last three albums have charted on Billboard and have witnessed the group share the stage with Children Of Bodom, Soilwork, Motorhead,  Saxon, Opeth,  Kataklysm, Hatebreed, Epica or Arch Enemy. Their most recent treks have taken them to Europe (with  Vader  and Hate Eternal), North America (with Sirenia) and their homeland Canada, with a highly energetic performance that matches their potential and intensity.

Ukrainian black metal stalwarts LUCIFUGUM return with “Adanom”, a new gatefold 7” EP that stands as one of the most significant chapters in the band’s 31-year journey along the Damned Path. Set for release on January 31st, 2026 via Aesthetic Death, “Adanom” is a defiant statement of Satanic Black Metal Authentism: underground, uncompromising and forged in the harshest of circumstances.

The release marks the powerful return of Stabaath to vocal duties, following a serious throat injury, bringing renewed venom and intensity to the Coven’s sound. Created, recorded, and mixed under the shadow of missile and drone attacks in the Ukrainian cities of Mykolaiv and Kharkiv, “Adanom” carries a raw, unfiltered urgency that reflects both resilience and unwavering conviction.

Tracklist:
Side A

  1. AB(∞)RH(ВОЛЯ) – 00:57
  2. Смола у крові нашій – 05:46 (Dedicated to all defenders of Ukraine, to everyone who keeps his/her own front line.)

Side B

  1. Lucispear – 05:09 (Dedicated to the first Rebel, the first torch of Truth. To the One who is an example of Fortitude and Purposefulness.)

More on DÖDSRIT:

From the shadowy desolated woods of Borlänge, Sweden and the rusting urban lechery of Amsterdam, The Netherlands comes Dödsrit, a maelstrom of soul tearing blackness and cacophony.

Dödsrit entered the worldly realms in 2017 as a sole venture that would produce both the self-titled debut in that same year and the subsequent ‘Spirit Crusher’ in 2018. Following this second full-length, the project expanded into a full-fledged group with the addition of three new members, a change that would sharpen the band’s course into the potent force that stands today.

Whether painting landscapes of storming riffs, crescendos of pulsing intensity, or immersing mournful wails, Dödsrit’s crushing devotion to the visceral element in men and nature allured from its very inception. While rooted in the Black Metal milieu, the group’s sonic traits expand wide and beyond, from repetitive and atmospheric upsurges of misty ambiance to melancholic yet triumphant infused outbreaks, a pallet of sorts that provides this journey with an uproar of emotions. Such features find their most precise outcome on their latest opus, ‘Nocturnal Will’, a step forward in the direction of the abyss, and a definitive illustration of Dödsrit’s treacherous display of ghastly emanations for and to the strife and suffering of our feeble world, and it’s nocturnal flame.

Line-up:
Christoffer Öster – Guitar & Vocals
Georgios Maxouris – Guitar & Vocals
Peter Rebel – Guitar
Jelle Soolsma – Bass

More on LAMP OF MURMUUR:

Few artists in recent memory have swept through the dark underground with the excited fervour that Lamp of Murmuur has achieved since first appearing with a string of demos in 2019.

Despite the project’s quick rise to renown, little is known about the band except that the project hails from Los Angeles, CA, and is led by an enigmatic man known as M.

After the initial onslaught that was ‘Heir of Ecliptical Romanticism,’ it was evident that behind the awe inspiring riffs and classic black metal cold atmosphere hid a completely different beast, one with a particular obsession and sensibility that allowed the project to break through the barrage of raw black metal projects that now flood the internet.

Two more albums came after that initial effort was released (‘Submission and Slavery’ in 2021 and the overwhelmingly acclaimed ‘Saturnian Bloodstorm’ in 2023) that cemented the one-man-band’s status as a spearheading institution in modern Black Metal, delivering albums that constantly bend the rules while also maintaining that rebellious and unapologetic spirit that represents the genre’s tradition so greatly.

In 2025, Lamp of Murmuur unleashed their latest effort: ‘The Dreaming Prince in Ecstasy,’ A celebration of M.’s progress as a musician, yet again breaking and bending all preconceptions of how black metal should sound, yet retaining the exquisite songwriting and larger than life head-banging riffs that the project has become known for, attracting and enchanting adepts from all regions of the world.

Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA and founder of TRISTANIA) released the fifth Mortemia song from ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’ today. A collection of 12 cover songs featuring different guest singers for each song. This track is a cover version of ‘Sweet Dreams’ originally recorded by Eurythmics, featuring Kristyn Hope on guest vocals. The song is available on all digital platforms as of yesterday the 30th of January 2026.

Morten Veland:

“I’m proud and honoured to welcome Kristyn Hope as my special guest for ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’. This is the fifth song to be released for this album. I discovered Kristyn’s band Daedric on instagram about a year ago, sometimes the algorithms introduce you to great new music. I was instantly blown away by Kristyn’s voice, and the intense nerve in all her performances. So naturally I’ve had Kristyn in mind for a possible collab ever since, and I’m very excited that the time now has come. The song we have chosen to do together is a cover of The Eurythmics’ timeless classic ‘Sweet Dreams’. Kristyn did an absolutely amazing job with this song, and I’m thrilled with how this collab has turned out. Together we have created a really cool version of this timeless classic. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Kristyn on board this project and we both can’t wait to share this song with you all. The song will be available on all digital platforms on Friday the 30th of January 2026”.

Kristyn:

“I am honored to collaborate with Mortemia on this rendition of ‘Sweet Dreams’ and offer my vocals for this track. It was fun to try some vocal techniques I don’t usually use in most of my writing as well.”
