SHAWN PERRY Releases Debut Album “All American Heartbreak” with Single ‘Hookin’ Up’

Shawn Perry released his debut album All American Heartbreak along with single “Hookin’ Up” via Neon Belly Records distributed by The Label Group / Virgin Music Group.
The album will be available on all streaming platforms and will be for sale on all digital storefronts. Physical copies of All American Heartbreak will be available on CD and LUXURY Vinyl in select brick and mortar locations and on Amazon.com.

The album is a genre twisting blend of hard rock, country, metal, vintage hip-hop and pop. “All my favorite things,” says Perry. He adds, “I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. I hope it brings a smile to your face, and proves that real musicians, playing real instruments, releasing products you can hold in your hand, touch, feel and smell are not dead, but are in fact poised for a comeback.”

The song “Hookin’ Up” will be released as a single with the album. The song was inspired by the real life romance of a friend who met his wife on Tinder. Shawn Perry later officiated their wedding. The line (falling’ down drunk eating chicken in a bathtub) was inspired from a line of dialogue from the short lived Kate Walsh TV show Bad Judge.

All songs’ music and lyrics are by Shawn Perry, with “Amen” co-written by Shawn Perry and Keven Thiede.

The album was produced by Shawn Perry and Ben Schigel, known for his work with Walls of Jericho, Drowning Pool, Chimera, and Machine Gun Kelly. The track “Lawnchair” was produced by Christian Davis Stalnecker, who has worked with El Debarge and Backstreet Boys.

Recording took place at Spider Studios in Cleveland, Ohio, Rock-N-Roll Dojo in Vermilion, Ohio, and The Castle in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ben Schigel mixed the album, except for “Lawnchair,” which was mixed by Christian Davis Stalnecker.

The album was mastered by Grammy Winner Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, California, with the vinyl remaster done by Welcome to 1979 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Since Shifting his focus to a solo career in 2015 with the release his debut EP Country Girls Shawn Perry and his band have performed at some of the largest festivals in Ohio (Rockin’ on the River, and Ohio Bike week, Country, Blues and BBQ Festival). They have also been fixtures at some of the top music venues in the Midwest including: The world- famous Cleveland Agora, The Odeon, The Thirsty Cowboy, Lyman Harbour and Jewel’s Dance Hall, sharing the stage with world class artist like Saving Abel, Aaron Carter, Sponge, Blessid Union of Souls, Finger Eleven, We Are Harlot (featuring members of Asking Alexandria), Demun Jones (formerly of Rehab), The Devil You Know (helmed by ex-Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones), Charlie Farley and Country legend Colt Ford. They have also appeared on the Fox 8 Morning Show and had their music featured on I heart media’s (Clear Channel) nationally syndicated morning show Rover’s Morning Glory.

In 2019 Shawn Perry and his crew released the single “Lawnchair” to critical and commercial acclaim. The song was recorded by Grammy winning producer Christian Davis at the Castle in Nashville and mastered by Grammy winner Maor Applebaum in Los Angeles. The song made it’s debut on the country charts in March 2019 and has been steadily climbing ever since. In 2020 Shawn Perry and his band hit the studio to record ten new songs for their new album Throwin’ Shade. The first single from the album “Six Feet Apart,” a U2 inspired power anthem, was released in October 2020 to critical and fan acclaim. In June of 2021 “Lawnchair” which will be included on the forthcoming album Throwin’’ Shade was re-released through TLG Entertainment/Universal once again earning rave reviews for it’s fun in sun good time vibes. Shawn Perry will be releasing several singles throughout the rest of 2021 starting with the barn burner “Hardrock Hillbilly” before dropping the rest of the album at the end of the year.

HOPE DARLING Release Lyric Video for ‘Firefight’

Modern rock outfit HOPE DARLING unveils the official music video for their emotionally charged song, “Firefight,” out today.

The song “Firefight” was originally conceived by Patrick, the band’s former drummer, a two-time Iraq War veteran. Tragically, Patrick passed away in 2017. This song is based on a story he shared about a firefight. In the chaos of bullets flying overhead, Patrick found solace by listening to music through headphones. To honor his memory and share his experience, Hope Darling finished writing the song, turning it into a powerful testament to Patrick’s determination to return home.

Our song “Firefight” holds a special meaning to us as a band. The chord progression and drum pattern for this song was conceived by Patrick Brown, one of the founding members and the original drummer of Hope Darling. In 2017 Patrick was taken too soon from us and we were left with this unfinished song. It was shelved for quite a while, but we decided to finish this song in honor of him. The lyrics to “Firefight” are based on accounts Patrick had told us of his deployments to the Middle East serving as a Sergeant in the US Army. He had told us when he was in the middle of a firefight to drown out the noise and chaos he would pop in his headphones to listen to music. The imagery of his experience led me to this lyrical interpretation of that moment.

I imagined the chaos of sound and lights that he witnessed.

It’s all I remember

I can only imagine that his only thoughts and for many in that situation was to make it out alive and to somehow make it home no matter what it would take.

It was an account he often told that I felt was his way of reminding us that even in his military career he was a musician at heart.

FULCI to Release Soundtrack of New Game And Comic Book “Cyberflesh”

Notorious Italian death metal force FULCI rises again to carry horror and death metal to the masses around the world.

Today, FULCI are proud to announce a new 2-track collaboration with Italian electronic project TALPAH, available now via Time To Kill Records.

The music has been conceived as the soundtrack to Hollow Press’ new game and comic book “Cyberflesh”.

“Cyberflesh” – created by Simone Alberto Grifone (game designer), David Genchi (drawings) and Marco Taddei (texts), and published by Hollow Press – is a new entity where extreme music, horror comics and dark weird experience merge.

TALPAH’s relentless percussion and hypnotic soundscapes blend with FULCI’s distorted guitars, enveloping the listener in a vortex of digital terror and fascination. FULCI’s guttural vocals merge with TALPAH’s distortions and glitches, creating a dissonant harmony that resonates in the soul of anyone venturing into the darkness of this unique collaboration.

“When TTK and Hollow Press asked us to collaborate on creating a soundtrack for the game ‘Cyberflesh’, we immediately accepted. ‘Cyberflesh’ is a very splatter and violent comic. Moreover, the project had many similarities with the legendary collaboration between Games Workshop, Earache, and Bolt Thrower for the release of the album “Realm of Chaos” in 1989.
The title ‘Cyberflesh’ inspired us to create a soundtrack capable of blending human sounds (instrumentals) with cyber sounds (electronic). To compose the two tracks, we involved our friend and artist Talpah, whose sound design managed to amplify both the sonic violence and the eerie atmospheric parts of the tracks.
Even the choice of audio media was not random. We chose to release the tracks on super limited floppy disks and CDs with graphics similar to CD-ROMs. These media, along with a dedicated comic book illustrated by Genchi, will be included in an ultra-exclusive long box. Thanks to Time To Kill and Hollow Press for making all of this possible”.

Hollow Press was founded by Michele Nitri in 2015 to publish what he struggled to find in the market at that time. They focus on underground comics with dark weird fantasy themes, targeting an international audience by primarily publishing in English. Believing in the global presence of the underground and the unifying power of shared interests among fans worldwide, they prioritize individual editorial care for each work. In 2022, the company ventured into gaming, becoming one of the pioneers focusing on both comics and games. In 2023, it evolved into Hollow Hydra, a multi-headed entity with collaborators dedicated to avant-garde artistry, ensuring the underground artistic movement continues to thrive.

YR to Release Debut EP “Maanelyst” on June 21st, Reveal First Song ‘Nidhogg’

In 2021, the seeds were sown for what was to become a new odyssey in the realm of Norwegian black metal, marking the inception of YR, a fresh and fierce consortium emerging from the cold darkness of Oslo. The journey reached a crescendo in 2023 when Nekrosis and Doedsskaldr teamed and began work with the upcoming first EP “Maanelyst” – crafted with fervor by the combined genius of Nekrosis and Doedsskaldr, the music and lyrics echo the inner turmoil of human duality, from the frenetic pace of blast-beats to the deliberate rhythms of black’n’roll.

The duo is joined by Levik on bass and Niklas on drums, whose mastery completes the live experience. YR takes to the stage in warpaint, embodying the raw, unfiltered essence of black metal artistry, and setting the scene alight with their electrifying presence.

Finnish metalcore/progressive metal hybrid Split Iris have released new single ‘Oath’, taken from the band’s new album, Bloodred Dusk, out 28th June via Seek and Strike. ‘Oath’ is a dynamic and hard-hitting song that sets the tone for the entire album. This new offering is also a conceptual album that explores a wide range of sonic emotions.

Split Iris states: “Our new single, ‘Oath,’ is about finding oneself amid complete desperation with seemingly no way out. It is a reflection about everything that went wrong with humanity and how all the things one thought as stable truths collapsed in the view of the storyteller. However, even from the ashes of humanity there is a spark of hope to be found and the storyteller remembers the oath they made in the beginning of their story to never give up. Therefore, the storyteller sets out to find a way out of despair and carry the promise of restoring humanity, even if it would mean the end for them.

“The song has a very important meaning for us, as it carries a message about finding a solution no matter what we’re faced with. This powerful message is reflected musically in the song, and in the album’s story arc it’s a turning point of sorts, which is why the song is an obvious and natural choice to be a lead single as well.

“We’re super excited of how the the music video turned out. It complements the song by visually achieving its deep message and its energy with the bands intense and mesmerizing movements and the energetic camera work. The colors and the lighting reflect the mixed feelings of despair and hope, which are the core themes of the song. We and the filming crew feel we really put our souls into the performance and the making of the video, which shows. The video and the song go hand in hand, merging into a complete experience and further deepening the story, taking it to a whole new level.

“Our new album, Bloodred Dusk, is a story of humanity and its looming end. The album reflects on different aspects of humanity’s limits and about its resilience. A common theme throughout the album is hubris as a trait of humanity, and how it blinds us from seeing our limits and our lack of control. Even in the face of total obliteration and in the moments of the deepest despair there is still trust that everything can be fixed. The story arc moves from a sense of stability to losing all hope and giving up, and finally to finding hope even amid complete ruin with seemingly no possible future for humanity. From the deepest moment of despair there is still a spark of hope to be found for a brighter future. But will it be enough? Is it already too late? What will it take to fix humanity’s course? That is the theme and the core thought underlying the story.”

Split Iris are a Finnish progressive metalcore band combining elements of djent and many other styles of modern metal, resulting in a freshly unique mixture as their distinctive sound. The ambiences and massive soundscapes in the arrangements bring depth to the dark and driving down-tuned riffs, through which the mesmerising and catchy vocal melodies soar pristinely.

The quintet are based in Rauma, Finland and were formed in 2020. They are releasing their debut album in 2024 and will perform new songs live from the upcoming album. Italian female fronted metallers SOULS OF DIOTIMA are excited to announce that they will perform on August 2nd at Rock’n Beer Festival alongside STRATOVARIUS + other bands, set to take place on August 2nd/3rd/4th, in Valledoria, Sardegna, free entrance!

Souls of Diotima is a band with a unique style, characterized by recognizable elements of traditional, progressive and symphonic metal, as well as unconventional elements, woven musically in a new and highly expressive way. The band’s music engages all the senses and conveys a feeling similar to watching an epic film, creating strong visual scenes and almost tangible mental images. The defining characteristic of Souls of Diotima is its style, which recalls Mediterranean atmospheres and traditions. In fact, the band hails from Sardinia, an island in the center of the Mediterranean Sea. This makes its sound and style unique and recognizable.

The band has participated in tours and festivals abroad, headlining and sharing the stage with bands such as Obituary, Hatebreed, Vision Divine, Dgm, Folkstone, Saurom and others. Souls of Diotima have also worked with many of Europe’s top producers, including Jens Bögren and Oscar Nilsson, who is their current producer. In 2017, the Souls of Diotima founded a record label in London: “Diotima Records Music Management LTD,” and the following year the band with the new label created and participated as headliners in the first edition of the “Diotima Metal Fest” held in downtown Paris in order to raise funds for Parkinson’s research.
