For nearly two decades, HARM’S WAY has evolved from whispered underground favorites to their own globally adored force with an arsenal of songs that helped shape heavy music’s trajectory creating a roadmap for legions interested in “reinventing” themselves“. HARM’S WAY has never stayed complacent and constantly morphed, shape-absorbing and reapplying influences in new and creative ways to create some of the most well-executed songs in hardcore, punk and metal.

And yet, considering the changeling that they and their previous efforts are, Common Suffering is easily the most musically diverse undertaking in their catalog. The album beams with incredibly memorable riffs, breakdowns, and impeccable songwriting. The title is a clear nod to the collective experiences of the past three years of chaos, misanthropy, paranoia, disorder, confusion, and anxiety, with the band exploring themes ranging from personal struggles with mental health, relationships, political upheaval, corruption, and political power.

The precision-guided cluster bombs contained within Common Suffering are just ten more reasons for HARM’S WAY fans to queue up to see one of the best and most vicious live shows on the planet. There, amongst the wide smiles, flailing arms and bodies pinballing off of the edges of the pit, is where the world will see just how singular and uncommon the new effort is.

TEMPLE WITCH Sign with Wormholedeath for Release of “Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand” Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 23, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: TEMPLE WITCH. 1 Comment

Wormholedeath is thrilled to announce the partnership between TEMPLE WITCH, the groundbreaking doom rock metal trio, and the label. This union marks the dawn of a new era for Temple Witch as they prepare to unleash their album, “Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand”, set to drop on August 30, 2024.

The band stated: “We in Temple Witch are ecstatic to announce that we have signed a record label with WormHole Death Records. We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership and are absolutely thrilled to pursue this next stage in our musical journey.
Now partnered with WormHoleDeath Records, Temple Witch will release our second full-length album: Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand. The album fully and vividly expresses Temple Witch’s explorative branch of doom metal, scratching that doom metal itch, while simultaneously offering a far broader soundscape to experience, with long hard-hitting chords and ethereal riffs to enscorcel you.

Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand confronts personal loss, desperate confusion, and loneliness, and perhaps most importantly, the album discusses change and the growth that comes as a result.
During the writing of Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand Temple Witch was inspired by many great artists, including SubRosa, BleakHeart, YOB, and Spotlights, among others. Conceptually, we were inspired by ancient philosophies, such as Taoism and Stoicism, and their application in day-to-day life. Our goal with Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand, with all of our music, is to relate to as many people on this earth as we can, letting others – and ourselves in the process- be assured that they are not alone with their pain. Moreover, together in our creativity, we can understand one another.”

1. Ocean Thousand
2. Knew It Once
3. This Too Shall Pass
4. Chase Tigers Away
5. Other Things
6. Motion

Immerse yourself in Temple Witch’s sonic universe with a sneak peek of their unique sound through the music video for “Knew It Once”:

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, songwriter and guitarist Andy Russell joined forces with drummer Johno Benedik, sparking the birth of Temple Witch. Their musical chemistry flourished, leading to the creation of a stoner/doom metal band. With the addition of bassist Jacob Jones, the trio swiftly embarked on recording their debut album, “Hand In Hand With Chaos,” released in June 2021.

Following the success of “Hand In Hand With Chaos,” Temple Witch embarked on a journey of growth and achievement. They secured their first management deal with Extreme Management Group Inc. and garnered endorsements from industry leaders like DR Strings and InTune Guitar Picks, Inc. The band’s ventures included performances at the inaugural Apocalypse In The Desert festival in Las Vegas and tours along the United States’ east coast. In April 2023, Jacob and Andy found themselves in need of a drummer. After a handful of auditions, they met with a fellow Northeast Ohian musician; Jacob Wherley of Emerald Rage. Their connection was immediate and Jacob Wherley was welcomed into fold.

Also in May of 2023, Temple Witch signed our first record label with WormHoleDeath Records. Since then, the band has been tirelessly preparing for the release of our second album Ocean Thousand, Mountain Thousand. Temple Witch, not simply a catchy title, but a reference to the body and spirit. As a band, the goal was to write songs that tackle philosophical and, at times, existential matters. The word ‘Temple’ as a nod to body and mind; the word ‘Witch’ a reference the the shadow within all of us.

Temple Witch’s ultimate aim transcends fame and fortune. Their mission as artists is to connect with audiences on a profound level, leaving a positive imprint with their music. Whether it’s moving one listener or captivating a crowd of thousands, they view music as a pure form of communication. Their ambition extends globally, aspiring to reach audiences across cities and countries, touching the lives of millions.

Temple Witch’s message is not overly complicated. It is this: though we may not all understand one another, we all share the experience of being; the beauty, the wonder, the terrible suffering, and the utter cluelessness. The band doesn’t wish to make any sort of final or conclusive statements other than they know very well what it’s like to be human, and to that all people can relate, and that is what Temple Witch writes about.

Temple Witch is:

Andy Russell – guitar/vocals
Jacob Jones – bass
Jacob Wherley – drums

HOLLER have released a video for “Falling Apart”, fourth single taken from the debut album “Reborn” released on March 22nd by Scarlet Records.

Video by High Sky Record

Brooklyn-born singer and songwriter Terence Holler went solo in 2022, leaving the band he co-founded 31 years ago: international acclaimed prog metal titans Eldritch.

Growing up with a steady diet of Billy Joel, Elton John, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Monkees, Bay City Rollers, Journey, Boston, Toto, Bruce Springsteen, Kiss and Bon Jovi, these are the main influences he brought in his new project simply called Holler.

When a man loves a woman, and when the woman loves him too… but they can’t be together: a story you have already heard, but you have never heard this one yet.

Holler sings about the greatest love of his life (music? Or that special lady?), through thirteen emotional, refined and cool FM rock songs. A roller-coaster of feelings and moods that are sometimes contradictory but always damn engaging!

AS I LAY DYING’s Phil Sgrosso says about the track and video:

“It’s a pretty special moment for us to finally share some new music! ‘Burden’ was originally inspired by a guitar melody I wrote years ago on an old demo, thinking that it was lost for good in the demo abyss. It wasn’t until Tim dug it up and was inspired to shape a new song idea for it. The collaboration process with our co-producer Hiram Hernandez and new members brought new life to not only the song but the band as a whole, as we faced this new creative chapter together. Musically, we feel that ‘Burden’ represents a familiar part of our melodic history combined with a modern sense of energy and aggression. We really pushed ourselves to expand our musical capabilities in every department. We look forward to the addition of ‘Burden’ into our live show as well as introducing more music we’ve been working hard on over the past few years. Stay tuned.

It was a phenomenal experience working with Tom Flynn on the video for ‘Burden’. We were fans of his creative approach to modern music videos and could sense his high level of enthusiasm to deliver a video that would match the intensity of the song. He completely knocked it out of the park capturing the band performance and shaping a captivating concept which we will expand further into the release of our second single release…”

Sgrosso adds about the European tour:

“Europe has become a second home to us so we always look forward to returning for a ‘go big and go hard’ headline tour. Traveling alongside us will be Germany’s very own Caliban, Poland’s finest death metal legends Decapitated, and the pummeling Left to Suffer. Each show will be a night to celebrate heavy music with the fans, let’s make it a memorable one together.”
