Italian blackened post-punk outfit PONTE DEL DIAVOLO have released a live video capturing two songs from their performance at Hellfest 2026, part of the ongoing touring cycle behind their sophomore album De Venom Natura.

The video pairs “Il veleno della Natura,” one of the clearest showcases of the band’s dual-bass interplay and among the more wave-leaning cuts on the record, with their live rendition of “In the Flat Field,” their reworking of the Bauhaus post-punk staple. Together the two tracks span the range of the band’s current sound, from the atmospheric pull of the album’s original material to the darker lineage it draws from.

De Venom Natura, released via Season of Mist, extends the ground the band broke on their 2024 debut Fire Blades from the Tomb, built around the idea of nature as both poison and life force, capable of seducing and destroying in the same breath. The album was recorded live in the studio to preserve the tension and imperfection of the band’s stage sound, an approach that carries directly into this Hellfest footage.

De Venom Natura is out now via Season of Mist. Order & Stream: https://orcd.co/pontedeldiavolovenomnatura

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO states:

“Our performance at Hellfest this year was definitely a major highlight of the promotional tour for ‘De Venom Natura’, featuring moments we will always cherish in our hearts, where we performed and shared the stage with legends and the biggest names in the metal scene. Because of this, we are proud to share a piece of this set with you.”

Live sound & engineering for the Hellfest performance was handled by Danilo Battocchio, who also produced, engineered, and mixed De Venom Natura at The Deepest Sea in Turin.

Ponte del Diavolo continue touring through the end of the year in support of De Venom Natura, with the following dates confirmed:

Ponte del Diavolo — De Venom Natura Tour 2026:
4 September: Aleksandrów Łódzki, PL @ Summer Dying Loud Festival
26 September: Leeuwarden, NL @ Into the Void Festival
24 October: Pesaro, IT @ Spazio Webo
31 October: Genova, IT @ Crazy Bull
5 December: Żebbuġ, MT @ The Conjuring Fest

Cover Art: Francesco Dossena (https://www.instagram.com/facciobruttefacce)

Tracklist:

  6. Silence Walk With Me (6:17)
  7. In the Flat Field (4:54)

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO craft a focused blend of doom, black metal, post punk, and wave—an aesthetic they call “blackened post punk.” Wave tinged female vocals anchor the project’s flaming core, supported by an uncommon dual bass setup that grounds the rhythmic guitars and a raw, dynamic drum pulse.

The result is an immersive, tension driven sound. Following the initial release of three EPs, the band signed to Season of Mist and unveiled their first full-length album, Fire Blades from the Tomb.

After two years on the road—appearing at leading European festivals such as Roadburn and Inferno in support of their debut—Ponte del Diavolo return with De Venom Natura, a record that extends and refines their musical boundaries.

STEVE CROPPER & THE MIDNIGHT HOUR Combine with Queen’s Brian May & ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons on ‘My Angels Are Calling’

Steve Cropper & The Midnight Hour has revealed the stirring soulful ballad ‘My Angels Are Calling’ featuring the legendary Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, who takes on lead vocals alongside the six-string prowess of ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons – combining three of the world’s most iconic guitarists in one place. You can listen to the song HERE.

The single is taken from The Colonel’s posthumous release, Watching The Tide, which is out today via Provogue / Artone Label Group.

For an album whose title references the guitarist’s most famous co-write – Otis Redding’s 1967 standard (Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay – Watching The Tide saw Cropper roll back the years. Writing alongside Jon Tiven, the acclaimed songwriter/producer and Midnight Hour vocalist Roger C. Reale – then tracking at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio C with a crack-squad band including Ana Grosh (vocals), Nioshi Jackson (drums), engineer Eddie Gore (keys/percussion), and a wishlist of guitar heroes (Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Sir Brian May, Ronnie Wood) – the 83-year-old sounds ageless and energised.

From the opening sounds of waves crashing against the shore, Sir Brian May’s vocals transport you back to the halcyon days of Stax Records at their peak on the valedictory ballad, ‘My Angels Are Calling,’ – for which he wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the music. “Go Billy!” calls May as he brings in ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons who lends his fingers to the end solo.  “Brian is singing from Steve’s point of view,” says Tiven of the Queen man’s touching lyrics. Looking back over his life and his road. It’s very powerful.”

Reflecting on the sessions, Brian remembers: “We were all incredibly sad at Steve´s passing, and I was already collaborating with Steve and his band on a track for this album. The backing track which Jon Tiven, producer of the album and a very old friend of mine, sent me includes Steve Cropper´s unmistakable riff in a style which has influenced us all massively over the years.  As soon as Steve was gone, I could hear something different in my head – a tribute to Cropper himself. The way I saw it, I wanted to try to step into his mind at the moment when he knew it was time to move on. So in the track I´m attempting to speak with his voice, and I felt that spiritually he would find a way of bringing his usual optimism into play. In the song, the angels are calling, and it seems to me that, along with being grateful for his wonderful life, he would imagine heaven to be something like going back to sitting on the dock of the bay, a moment in time that he shared with Otis Redding creating that immortal hit, ‘Dock of the Bay’.  Having Billy Gibbons play a spectacular solo for me is the final wonderful bonus to this experience.  The whole band did a terrific job, and I´m very proud to be a part of it.”

The album features further A-List collaborations including ‘Until Now’, which makes stellar use of The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood’s stinging slide, as Tiven recalls the session: “Ronnie Wood got back to me about 10 minutes after I sent off my email: ‘Oh, this looks like a lot of fun. I’ll jump in.’

The first song to be released from the album was the tough Southern-smoked blues of ‘Ticket First’, which started with a joke and ended with Cropper and fellow rock royalty Eric Clapton riffing nose-to-nose. “I told Eric, ‘Man, you just turned that song inside-out – I think we’re gonna have to give you a writer’s credit,” recalls Tiven of the legendary British guitarist’s transcendent solo. “And Eric said, ‘Well, anything to get my name next to Steve Cropper’s…’”

To anyone who knows the roots and branches of American music, the passing of Steve Cropper in December 2025 was seismic. As a guitarist, songwriter, producer and engineer – not just for the iconic Stax record label but on a forest of sessions and solo releases – the Tennessee soul man was the DNA that coursed through the post-war era, his fabled right hand setting the pace of rock ‘n’ roll for 60-plus years.

It’s a huge statement for a musical colossus who towered over the rock ‘n’ roll age. Yet to play this posthumous release is to hear an all-time great still at the top of his game, blending the burning passion of youth with the wisdom of an old master. Steve Cropper might have left us, but Watching The Tide indicates that there is much more still to hear from him.

BAD WOLVES Honor DOLLY PARTON with Their Version of ‘Jolene’

Bad Wolves join millions of fans around the world in mourning the sudden passing of the one and only Dolly Parton, whose legacy has touched generations of artists and fans globally.

In a poignant turn of events, Bad Wolves were recently in discussions with Parton’s management team about a special collaboration. Just weeks ago, the band had recorded a heavy metal version of the singer’s iconic hit “Jolene,” and Parton herself was planning to contribute her signature vocals to the recording.

Bad Wolves founder John Boecklin“Our singer is a big fan of Dolly and had posted a bunch of videos of her covering “Jolene”. So, we decided to make a Heavy Metal cover version for our next album. On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished demo to Dolly’s Manager Danny Nozell with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version. We heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly, and that Dolly loved our version, and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon. We then sent over the stems for Dolly’s studio engineers to work with. Like everyone, we were devastated of this week’s news of Dolly’s passing. We will honor Dolly’s incredible legacy by donating proceeds from ‘Jolene’ to the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.”

According to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library they have given away over 300 million books to children around the world, over 3 million each month.

Founded by Dolly Parton in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is the flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation; a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring a love of reading in children around the world. The program provides free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to registered children from birth to age five, regardless of family income, mailing each book directly to the child’s home. Today, the program mails more than three million books to children each month.

Boecklin continued “With ‘Jolene’, we are proud to help deliver critical funding to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, we know that we can contribute to Dolly’s vision of giving access to books and improving literacy.”

In closing, Boecklin offered condolences on behalf of the band, “Our thoughts are with Dolly’s extended family, manager Danny Nozell, and all of the many thousands of people she touched in her extraordinary life who are grieving her passing”.

‘Jolene’ by Bad Wolves is released today Monday 31st August, 2026, stream it below.

ABOUT BAD WOLVES:

BAD WOLVES continue to break all of the rules, merging mind-numbing riffs and rhythms with massive, stadium-size melodies. This uncanny fusion of finesse and fire has quietly cemented the Nashville-based band as a multi-platinum powerhouse. Founded by John Boecklin in 2018, the quartet shows no signs of stopping or slowing down, either. Thus far, they have garnered a 3x-Platinum single and two Gold singles in addition to scoring 6 No. 1 entries at radio and gathering billions of streams. Beyond acclaim from Billboard, Outburn, Loudwire, and more, the group has stood out as a presence versatile enough to collaborate with either Daughtry or Ice Nine Kills. Beyond touring with Papa Roach, Volbeat, Hollywood Undead, and more, they have sold out successive headline tours. Welcoming KILLBOY on the microphone in 2026, they blow the hinges off on their next era with the new single “Paint It Red” — with much more to come.

LION’S SHARE’s “Dark Hours” Hits Vinyl as “Phantom Rider” Returns & 2027 Germany Festival Appearance Confirmed

August 28, marked the long-awaited vinyl release of LION’S SHARE’s classic 2009 album Dark Hours, now available for the first time ever on black vinyl and limited yellow vinyl, with the album also reissued on CD via Metalville.

Order the album:

To celebrate the release, LION’S SHARE are also bringing back the official lyric video for “Phantom Rider,” one of the album’s darkest and most distinctive tracks.

“Phantom Rider” is inspired by Charles Manson and the dark events surrounding the Manson Family in Los Angeles in 1969. Manson developed his bizarre “Helter Skelter” prophecy drawing inspiration from THE BEATLES’ song of the same name, and manipulated his followers into committing a series of brutal murders. The song explores the disturbed mindset, fanaticism and manipulation behind one of the most notorious crime stories of the 20th century.

“Phantom Rider” is part of the broader historical and controversial themes explored throughout Dark Hours, an album that takes inspiration from some of the darkest chapters and figures of the late 1960s.

The reissue of Dark Hours comes at a particularly fitting time. Swedish rock publication Rocknytt recently ranked the album at #3 on a list of the best hard rock albums by Swedish bands of all time.

Upon its original release, Dark Hours received widespread international acclaim. The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the Swedish Metal Awards, named Album of the Month by Sweden Rock Magazine (9/10), and reached the Top 10 of the Soundchecks in leading German magazines including Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Heavy and Rock It!.

Over the years, LION’S SHARE have toured extensively with legendary acts including SAXON, DIO, MOTÖRHEAD, MANOWAR, U.D.O., ICED EARTH and NEVERMORE, further establishing the band as one of Sweden’s most respected names in melodic heavy metal.

Originally released in 2009, Dark Hours remains one of the most highly regarded albums in the LION’S SHARE catalogue, built around heavy riffs, memorable melodies and a strong historical theme.
The album features a guest guitar solo from Michael Romeo of SYMPHONY X and was mixed and mastered by acclaimed engineer and producer Jens Bogren (OPETH, ARCH ENEMY, AMON AMARTH, KREATOR) at Fascination Street Studios.

For LION’S SHARE, the reissue also marks another chapter in a busy year following the release of Inferno in March — the band’s first studio album in 17 years. Inferno received exceptional international reviews, reached #3 in Sweden Rock Magazine’s Critics Poll, earned a perfect 10/10 from Powerplay Magazine, spent eight consecutive weeks on the US Metal Radio Charts, and the single “We Are What We Are” has surpassed one million Spotify streams.

Looking ahead, LION’S SHARE have already confirmed their return to Germany, with a performance at Sicking High Rock in Weselberg on June 26, 2027. Additional club shows around the festival date will be announced at a later stage.

With Dark Hours now finally available on vinyl, the timing could hardly be better for both longtime fans and those discovering the album for the first time.

Dark Hours is out today, August 28, via Metalville.

CD, black vinyl and a limited yellow vinyl edition are available now.

GRID THEORY Unleashes New Single ‘Silent Echoes’ from Upcoming Debut Album “The Rewire”

German Alternative Metal act GRID THEORY has unveiled “Silent Echoes”, the latest single from its forthcoming debut album “The Rewire”, set for release on November 27.

Created by German musician and producer Jorma Schüch, GRID THEORY operates at the intersection of crushing Alternative Metal intensity, intricate songwriting and cinematic soundscapes. Blending melodic aggression with contemporary Metalcore precision, Schüch crafts compositions that are both heavy and harmonically complex.

Through GRID THEORY, he delves into philosophical and technological themes, exploring the limits of control, system failures, and the “theory of the grid” that governs modern existence. The music delivers a calculated symbiosis of thunderous rhythms, soaring guitar melodies, and a dynamic contrast between brutal force and emotional depth.

With the brand new track “Silent Echoes”, GRID THEORY continues to explore the emotional fractures at the core of “The Rewire”. Following “The Beauty of Decay” and “Irreversible”, the new single further opens the door into the album’s concept of emotional isolation, technological detachment and the struggle to remain human in an increasingly optimized world.

Listen to “Silent Echoes” HERE

Jorma Schüch comments about the song: “This track dives into the haunting feeling of dealing with unspoken words and emotional distance. Musically, it blends atmospheric alternative elements with a heavy, driving rhythm section to mirror the inner tension of the lyrics.”

Tracklist:
01. Silent Echoes
02. Real You
03. The Beauty of Decay
04. Glass Tide
05. Falling Free
06. Irreversible
07. Overload
08. Frequency
09. Ghost in the Machine
10. Artificial Blue

“The Rewire” is a metaphorical concept album exploring the modern battle between human emotion and technological coldness. Across 10 chapters, the record chronicles a psyche collapsing under the pressure of optimization, attempting to replace its own pain with digital numbing. It is the story of a systematic dehumanization: the protagonist escapes real-world trauma into the perceived perfection of algorithms and data streams, until their own biological system forces the ultimate crash (“Overload”) – a critical reflection on a world where we have forgotten how to feel and instead only exist to function.

“The Rewire” was mastered by renowned producer and engineer Romesh Dodangoda, known for his work with Bring Me The Horizon and Bullet For My Valentine and will be out on November 27, self-released by GRID THEORY. Physical formats can be pre-ordered HERE

GRID THEORY is:
Jorma Schüch – Songwriting, drums, executive producer

Marko Duplisak – Vocals
