Sharon Osbourne sees a future for Ozzfest. While the name is especially associated with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, his wife played a major role behind the scenes in organizing the festival. In an interview with Billboard, she said:
“All of the creative direction for visuals at Ozzfest was mine. I can’t sing a note — I’m tone-deaf — but I can be creative, and I like to create things.”
And it’s clear she wants to continue creating, combining nostalgia and a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with a vision for the festival’s future:
“I’ve been talking to Live Nation about bringing [Ozzfest] back recently. It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people. We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”
As for Ozzfest’s future, ideas are already on the table. According to Sharon Osbourne, the 2027 lineup could be much more diverse:
“I’d like to mix up the genres.”
Fans can likely look forward to more announcements regarding this project in the coming months.
Danish alt-metal luminists MØLhave released their third studio album DREAMCRUSH via Nuclear Blast Records and to celebrate have unveiled new single/video, ‘Hud’.
The album follows a striking sequence of singles from the brooding pull of ‘Garland‘ and the urgent drive of ‘Young‘ to the cathartic force of ‘CRUSH‘, culminating today in the release of ‘Hud’, an immersive, shadow tinged track that plunges listeners into the record’s tense otherworldly atmosphere.
Across DREAMCRUSH, MØL sharpen their signature fusion of crushing heaviness and ethereal textures, delivering a sound that is at once unrelenting and eerily luminous.
Guitarist Nicolai Busse comments on the new single: “‘Hud’ was the first composition I started on after we released Diorama and after the birth of my daughter. Listening to the song always takes me back to sitting on our living room floor with a guitar in hand and plucking away while she would play. The track is seminal to me in that it not only helped me form ideas on how the record should sound, but also becoming a father.”
DREAMCRUSHTracklisting:
1.DREAM 2.Små Forlis 3. Young 4. Hud 5. Garland 6. Favour 7. A Former Blueprint 8. ∞ 9. Dissonance 10. Mimic 11. CRUSH
Following the critically acclaimed Jord (2019) and Diorama (2021), MØL’s latest opus, DREAMCRUSH, sees the band’s sound continue to evolve as they embrace new horizons, as a collective and as individuals. Drawing on influences from My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and Smashing Pumpkins, the album delves into recurring themes of belonging, resilience and finding a sense of home within oneself. By weaving melody into even their sharpest, most jagged moments, the band emerge with their most soul-stirring work to date.
DREAMCRUSH explores the precarious balance between hope and burden: dreams can sustain you, give you something to believe in – but the weight of expectation, the burden of reality can also mean that such dreams can become oppressive; they can just as easily shatter you. In amongst clouds of unfathomable loss and grief, the album offers rays of almost unbearable hope – a reminder that we can keep on dreaming despite ourselves.
MØL‘s latest offering delivers a record that is as merciless as it is tender, one that challenges, uplifts and lingers, a reminder that even in the heaviest darkness, there is a light worth chasing.
MØLnow take DREAMCRUSH across Europe and the UK this February with support from Tayne and Cold Night For Alligators, as the band continue to push deeper into their own atmospheric and uncharted creative world both on record and through their live shows.

After 25 years of musical exploration and boundary-pushing creativity, long-running Israeli progressive/alt metal outfit Subterranean Masquerade begins a bold new chapter having officially changed its name to SUBMASQ. By shortening its name to SUBMASQ, the band marks an evolution that reflects both its legacy and its future.
While SUBMASQ continues to complete their impending new album – the follow-up to their acclaimed Mountain Fever LP, released in 2021 via The Lasers Edge Group’s metal label Sensory Records – this week the band unveils their first release with the truncated moniker: A new cover EP titled Oedipus. The EP features three reimagined songs, all revolving around the shared theme of mothers, including Danzig’s “Mother,” Rammstein’s “Mutter,” and Genesis’ “Mama.” Produced and rearranged by SUBMASQ, Oedipus was mixed and mastered by Arie Aranovich.
Speaking about the release, the band explains, “We love making covers. We wanted to make something special for our followers just before the official new album arrives. We know it takes time, but we want to do it right—so in the meantime, this EP, all rocking and rolling, is for you.”
Reflecting on the name change and the road ahead, the band’s founder Tomer Pink adds, “I’ve been doing Subterranean Masquerade since I was a teenager. Today – twenty-five years after, a father to two kids – it’s time to move forward to something more exciting and fitting who we are today. I’m thrilled to share new music with you guys. This is going to be legendary.”
The first preview of SUBMASQ’s Oedipus arrives with their cover of Danzig’s “Mother,” now streaming everywhere including through a lyric video for the song playing RIGHT HERE.
Oedipus will be released on all digital platforms Friday, February 13th. Preorders are up at Bandcamp HERE. An official video and more will post alongside the rest of the EP in the days ahead.
Oedipus Track Listing:
Mother (Danzig cover)
Mutter (Rammstein cover)
Mama (Genesis cover)
With the new name comes a new professional chapter as well. SUBMASQ has signed with Nick Grima Management and is preparing to announce extensive European touring throughout 2026 and 2027.
SUBMASQ carries the spirit of Subterranean Masquerade into the future—refined, reenergized, and focused on what comes next. Watch for further developments to be announced shortly.
When the news broke that Jens Faber (Dawn Of Destiny) would be releasing an album in the style of Jim Steinman, curiosity was high. Would it be a cover/tribute album? No! The album consists largely of original compositions in the spirit of the great songwriter and producer. The fact that feelings and thoughts of the great songs and anthems of Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, Fire Inc, and even Sisters of Mercy might come to mind is entirely in keeping with the spirit of the songs. A first taste is the new—first—single from the debut album “Alive In Hell” (release date: March 27, 2026): Somewhere in this Universe!
In terms of melody and songwriting, NEVERLAND TRAIN revives a great era without losing a certain independence.
NEVERLAND TRAIN is Jens Faber’s tribute to Jim Steinman! The multi-talented artist from Bochum is not only the mastermind behind “Dawn Of Destiny.” With “Legions of the Night,” he paid tribute to Savatage in a similar way as he now honors the great songwriter and producer who once helped Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, and Fire Inc. achieve worldwide fame. To this end, he has enlisted the strong support of Marco Pastorino (Temperance, Fallen Sanctuary) and former Dawn Of Destiny drummer Patrick Klose (Iron Saivor)! If you’re now in the mood for “Dance of the Vampires” or a movie night with “Streets on Fire,” Neverland Train is the right choice for you!

Originally released by Scarlet Records in 2016, “Crimes Against Reality” was the third studio album for Game Over, at that time one of the youngest and most promising up’n’coming bands in the European thrash metal scene.
The record followed the widely successful “Burst Into The Quiet”, which put Game Over on the map and displayed their massive potential. Inspired by the classic Bay Area thrash scene of the Eighties, Game Over mixed those influences with modern sounds and a very distinctive personality.
Carefully remastered by the original top-notch producer Simone Mularoni, “Crimes Against Reality (2026 remaster)” contains ten tracks that mix sharp riffs, anthemic choruses and powerful rhythms, enriched by the use of unusual instruments such as Moogs and Hammonds, plus a wild bonus track recorded live by the present line-up. Lyrics vary from B-movie scenarios to social-political themes, science fiction, mythology and dystopian visions.
A killer work ten years ago, an even more ferocious headbanging rollercoaster right now!
Presently working on the follow-up to the acclaimed “Face The End” album (2025), to be released in the second half of 2026, Game Over have been confirmed for the Ferrara Summer Festival (Italy) on June 14 supporting Megadeth, Anthrax, Black Label Society, Cavalera and Gaerea.

Helsinki-based goth garage band Hauntees has released the first single, All Over Again, from their upcoming debut album. The hypnotic, dark-toned track draws its striking elements from post-punk as well as goth and garage rock.
Hauntees is a new band, but its members have previously played in groups such as Patsy Walkers, Borderline, Charm Bags, Goo-Hags and Lariots, so the roots of the Helsinki garage scene are well covered.
“We want to reach toward other worlds with our music, beyond everyday reality,” the band says. “When we write songs, we describe them to each other through places, films, and moods.”
Based on feedback, Hauntees’ visual and atmospheric approach to music seems to resonate with listeners.
“It’s interesting that listeners experience our music this way too. We’ve received comments at shows that we sound like the jukebox in the Twin Peaks bar, a foggy forest path, or music that should be played on a road trip across the desert,” the band says.
The band’s debut album Shadows Forming will be released on February 28 on vinyl and digital platforms.
