NOTHING MORE’s recent tracks “HOUSE ON SAND (feat. Eric V of I Prevail)” and the current Top 5 Billboard Active Rock radio single “IF IT DOESN’T HURT” have received tremendous success accumulating 13.7 million streams and 2.4 million video views combined globally. The Active Rock mainstays have teamed up with iconic rock vocalist / singer-songwriter David Draiman of Disturbed on the latest track, “ANGEL SONG,” from their much-anticipated new album CARNAL due June 28 via Better Noise Music. Draiman has sold over 17 million records worldwide with Disturbed receiving 10 billion global audio and video streams, including five RIAA Platinum releases; received three Grammy Awards nominations; earned an iHeartRadio Music Award for “Rock Artist of The Year” in 2017; and notched several #1 Mainstream Rock singles. The emotionally charged new NOTHING MORE track “ANGEL SONG (feat. David Draiman of Disturbed)” is out today, May 17. Stream/listen HERE. Watch its music video streaming below or via YouTube HERE.

“The power of the track is undeniable,” exclaims DRAIMAN. “I’ve been a fan of the band since the very beginning.”

“‘ANGEL SONG’ is the haunting sound of our past selves melting into a future that is as bright as it is dark,” explains NOTHING MORE frontman JONNY HAWKINS. “Our animal nature is getting more and more chewed up by society and our souls swallowed by technology, but there’s something in us that wants to fight back. As the song was coming together in the studio, it became immediately clear to us that David Draiman’s voice would take it to another level. We’re so happy with the result.”

NOTHING MORE were recently presented with plaques for their newly RIAA Gold- Certified 2017 hit single, “Go To War,” from their groundbreaking album THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES. The band were given the plaques at their recent co-headlining show at Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, PA from Better Noise Music’s CFO Harris Masood (*see the above picture). “Go To War” received two Grammy Award nominations (“Best Rock Song” and “Best Rock Performance”), a nomination for Loudwire Music Awards’ “Top Hard Rock Song,” and was their first #1 single on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock charts. It has since received over 113 million streams and has logged 30 million video views.

The band will wrap up their current co-headlining tour with Wage War featuring special guests Veil of Maya and Sleep Theory tomorrow May 18 in Bloomington, IL. NOTHING MORE were announced as direct support for rock legends Godsmack in June and earlier this week announced additional support dates with Godsmack throughout October. Tickets are on sale as of today at 12pm (local time) along with VIP upgrades HERE. NOTHING MORE will also appear at rock’s top festivals this fall including Louder Than Life, Aftershock and MMR*B*Q. Stay tuned next week for a special tour announcement. See all upcoming shows listed below.

Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer WZRD BLD (Disturbed, Motionless In White, A Day To Remember) with mixing and mastering by Zakk Cervini (Limp Bizkit, MGK, Bring Me The Horizon), CARNAL unites NOTHING MORE’s trademark introspective philosophical lyrics and unapologetically massive anthems with in-your-face rockers designed for an all-encompassing audience. FUTURE PALACE Release Brand New Single ‘The Echoes of Disparity’

German trio Future Palace have released a video for their brand new single ‘The Echoes of Disparity’, out now via Arising Empire. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Distortion which will be released on 6th September.

Stream ‘The Echoes of Disparity’ here: https://arisingempire.com/theechoesofdisparity

‘The Echoes of Disparity’, featuring a standout collaboration with Charlie Rolfe from As Everything Unfolds, makes a strong statement regarding societal pressure and control over women’s bodies. Maria showcases an impressive vocal range, transitioning between powerful shouts and crystal-clear vocals, adding depth and emotion to the song’s important message.

The world is a firework of overstimulation, and Future Palace have dedicated their upcoming album Distortion, to this feeling of overwhelm. On the new record, the band delves into the nearly oppressive mass of mental illnesses and societal problems, creating music that, fittingly, delivers more hooks than ever before, shifting seamlessly from the quietest depths to the loftiest heights. While their previous album, Run, leaned toward musical extremes, Distortion is the ultimate culmination of all the tones Future Palace have absorbed on their Europe-wide journey as one of the most exciting acts in alternative guitar music.

Future Palace‘s music has always explored internal struggles, and Distortion is the brutal climax of this approach. The album title, derived from the psychological term cognitive distortion, reflects a world where changing perceptions trap individuals in recurring pitfalls. Distortion addresses various mental illnesses and personal struggles, from ADHD to depression to narcissism. The band’s third album is a powerful force of emotions, cycles, and cries of desperation, overwhelming listeners with its intensity.

The band’s creativity shines as they tackle demanding topics with fresh perspectives. On Distortion, they build on their previous work by incorporating new elements, like orchestral interjections in ‘The Echoes of Disparity’, which combines brutal screams and chant-like passages to convey psychological struggle. ‘Panic Paralysis’ features a massive vocal motif with an arabesque touch, while ‘They Take What They Want’ dives into emotional depths, blending raw metalcore with gentle vocal passages and massive choirs.

Despite the album’s emotional intensity, Distortion was created amid excessive demands. Produced by Julian Breucker and Christoph Wieczorek, known for their work with Annisokay, Beyond the Black, and Smash Into Pieces, the recording process was grueling. Singer Maria Lessing recorded the album with a root infection and after wisdom tooth surgery, adding stress but enhancing the songs’ authenticity. Guitarist Manuel Kohlert notes that the album reflects the band’s experience as a heavy touring band, capturing the feelings of being on the road and contemplating their existence.

Despite its challenges, Distortion carries a piece of hope. ‘Decarabia’ tells a bittersweet story about a depressed couple, while ‘The Echoes of Disparity’, featuring Charlie Rolfe of As Everything Unfolds, is militantly rebellious, addressing abuse of power and the oppression of women. Lessing emphasizes the importance of female support to convey the song’s message loudly.

Tracklist
1. Uncontrolled
2. Malphas
3. Panic Paralysis
4. The Echoes of Disparity feat. Charle Rolfe from As Everything Unfolds
5. Dreamstate
6. Decarabia
7. in Too Deep
8. Rays of Light
9. A Fool on a Devil’s Reins
10. They Take What They Want
11. Amethyst

The album features the most powerful metalcore breakdowns meeting trembling darkwave beats, anthemic emocore refrains à la Bad Omens contrasted with sacred choirs, and the coldness of industrial clashing with the powerful emotionality of Sleep Token, making Distortion an album like a manifesto.

KERRY KING Celebrates “From Hell I Rise” Album Release with New Video ‘Toxic’, European Tour Kicks Off on June 3rd

Kerry King finally has released his solo debut album, “From Hell I Rise” via Reigning Phoenix Music, and unveils the project’s brand-new video ‘Toxic’, which has been co-directed by Jim Louvau and his partner Tony Aguilera.

Similar to King’s acclaimed ‘Residue’ video, which was released last month, ‘Toxic’ was shot at a downtown Phoenix studio and features a fiery high energy, heavy assault of a performance from Kerry’s new band: Mark Osegueda (vocals), Phil Demmel (guitar), Kyle Sanders (bass) and drummer Paul Bostaph.

Jim Louvau admits: “We’re at a point where political fatigue has set in and become an issue for most people who live in our country no matter what side of the coin they land on. The lyrics and energy of the song showcase that sentiment, so I wanted to create something visually that almost feels like a trailer for what we are about to experience. I also wanted to address PTSD for people who have serviced in the military and how the increased political landscape affects their mental health which often goes unnoticed”.

This month, the band performed their first live show, totally sold out, at Reggies in Chicago.  The concert was described as “dark, packed, and exceptionally loud,” everything you could ask for at such a landmark show as this one… a truly once in a lifetime experience. In the days following, the band went from playing an intimate venue to performing at the huge US festivals Welcome to Rockville (FL) and Sonic temple (OH), treating the audience to an incredible experience of pure metal firepower.

Now the band is ready to embark on a European tour that will start on June 3rd – on Kerry King‘s birthday: “Can’t wait to be back in Europe and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday. Let’s fucking rage!”.

The tour will combine headline shows in the UK, The Netherlands and Germany, and also festival appearances such as Rock Am Ring, Hellfest, Tuska, Graspop, Download, Sweden Rock Festival & many more!

ABOUT KERRY KING:
Slayer’s co-founding guitarist Kerry King is one of the most instantly recognizable and well-respected musicians in thrash/punk/metal, and over the past nearly-40-years, has pioneered some of the most brutal and revolutionary music ever created.  King wrote or co-wrote some of Slayer’s most beloved songs including “Mandatory Suicide,” ”Repentless,” ”Hell Awaits,” ”Disciple,” and “Raining Blood.”  Known for his allegiance to the Raiders, his love of snakes, and his taste for Jagermeister, King is outspoken, opinionated and authentic to the core.  Metal flows in King’s veins, he knows how to write what he writes, and he has no interest in changing that.  In perpetuity, Kerry King is a self-proclaimed “metal kid.”

HARPAZO Unveil Lyric Video for ‘I Am God’ from Forthcoming Album “The Crucible”

Rockshots Records is proud to announce the release of “The Crucible” the debut album from HARPAZO, a super-group formed by guitarist Marc Centanni and producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Gary Wehrkamp (Shadow Gallery, Ayreon).

Set for release on June 28th in Europe and on July 5th in the USA, this progressive metal rock opera is a thrilling journey through a dystopian future, merging elements of progressive and power metal with symphonic and Celtic influences.

The single “I Am God” encapsulates the essence of Harpazo, presenting a dynamic, messianic, and powerful metal anthem filled with intense energy and compelling melodic sections. It takes listeners on a cinematic and haunting journey through a dystopian world, perfectly reflecting our metal opera vision. The bridge hooks you with its irresistible catchiness, smoothly transitioning into a robust and infectious chorus.

The addition of chilling violins and Gary Wehrkamp’s operatic vocals effectively enhances the gothic and dystopian atmosphere the band aimed to create. Niklas Kahl (Lord of the Lost) delivers outstanding, punishing drumming utilizing double bass pedals to great effect. The guitars drive the song with brutal precision keeping listeners on the edge of their seats throughout.

“Jude Solomon,” a multi-trillionaire tech savior, is introduced in this track, along with his ambitious plans to revolutionize the world by dismantling traditional values and ushering in a new era. The song paints a vivid picture of a future where AI and technology offer near-immortality.

“I Am God” serves as the pulsating heart of the album and provides an excellent introduction to Harpazo.

HARPAZO’s “The Crucible” will be available on all major streaming platforms and through Rockshots Records on June 28th in Europe and July 5th in the USA. Be sure to check out the album and follow HARPAZO for more updates and news on their journey through the world of progressive metal.

QUIET RIOT’s Rudy Sarzo: “There is a Connection Between Old & New Members, I Happen to Be the New Old Guy”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 18, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Alex Grossi, QUIET RIOT, RUDY SARZO, The Metal Voice. Leave a comment

Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice sat down and spoke with Quiet Riot’s Rudy Sarzo (Bassist) and Alex Grossi (guitarist) at this years M3 Rock Festival on May 4, 2024.

Watch below the Full interview.

When asked about the current Line-up
“We started in clubs in the ’70s with Randy Rhoads, so traditionally, no matter how many people are in the audience, as a band we have fun. I’ve found that the combination with Alex, Jizzy (Pearl / vocals) and Johnny (Kelly / drums) to be a true representation of the spirit of Quiet Riot. We have a line-up that’s actually been picked by those who are no longer with us. Alex was picked by Kevin and groomed on everything Quiet Riot by Kevin; the consciousness, the belief system of what it means to be in Quiet Riot. Jizzy was picked by Frankie – Alex brought Jizzy to Frankie’s attention – and Kevin was a fan of (Jizzy’s band) Love/Hate.There is a very close connection with the new members and the old members in the band. I happen to be the new old guy. ” Rudy Sarzo

When asked about writing new Quiet Riot music with the current Line-up
” We have been. When we really came back in 2022  we didn’t realize how busy we would be.  We’ve got a couple songs done and we’re just trying to figure out when and how to release it. I mean whether we go to the label or whether we do it ourselves we don’t know yet but it’s definitely on the table.  I think this version of the band needs to be documented doing its own thing. Alex Grossi

When asked about the Legacy of Ozzy’s Live ‘Speak of the Devil’ album that Rudy Sarzo played on
“This is before Pro Tools and it was actually live you know, when you hear at least the band playing. I don’t know what happened as far as the vocals go. I gave notice that I was leaving Ozzy immediately after I recorded that. It’s the authenticity which you really don’t hear that much in modern music nowadays. Where there’s no click track, there’s no triggers, there’s no overdubs there’s no AI. It’s just four guys on stage playing, that’s it .There was a race between Ozzy and Black Sabbath to release the record one before the other. These are the songs that we were given to play and it was my job to do the best job that I could within the time frame that we had to learn those songs. “

When asked about he learnt from Randy Rhoads the original guitarist in Quiet Riot
“I’m actually the only musician who played with Randy Rhoads in Quiet Riot and Ozzy. Everything I learned about musical integrity and dedication was from Randy. Randy was a teacher before he became a rock star and he taught me how to teach. When I actually first heard him play classical music was at Musonia because he would not play it in Quiet Riot. He never brought an acoustic guitar to a Quiet Riot  rehearsal. But at Musona he would pick up the  the classical guitar and play it in between lessons.”
