“False Idols”, the new single by THE AUTUMN AURORA, is out now on all major digital platforms via Volcano Records. The track is accompanied by an official music video, available on the band’s YouTube channel.
“False Idols” explores the loneliness of those confronting a society dominated by propaganda, appearances and false models imposed by politics, religion and mass media. It portrays a distorted reality in which the weakest are crushed rather than protected, while the promises of false prophets serve only the interests of those in power. That same loneliness, however, becomes a source of clarity and awareness. Stepping away from the media spectacle means rediscovering oneself and rejecting a world built on money, easy smiles and illusions—a world that no longer belongs to those who refuse to become victims of its false idols. Musically, the track pushes The Autumn Aurora’s post-punk and darkwave identity to its limits. Synths and analogue orchestral pads intertwine with the lines of two electric basses: one builds the groove alongside the drums, while the other takes on the role of a lead guitar, using chorus, flanger and delay to create cold, spectral atmospheres. Completing the sound is Vera Perkins’s deep and theatrical voice.

Glasgow’s THOSE MADE BROKEN have premiered a hard-hitting new music video for “Echo Chamber” ahead of their slot at Hammerdown Festival and the release of their sophomore album, ‘A Door You Can Never Close,’ on 1st September.
“”Echo Chamber” is an attempt to come to terms with the world we find ourselves in today, one where fanaticism and terrorism are sold to us by the western media as freedom and righteousness,” says lead vocalist Murray. “What can we do about genocide in the Middle East we’re expected to either ignore or be complicit in? How do we realistically stop climate change in the face of rampant capitalism and denial? How do we logically and practically fight the rise of the far right in UK politics? ‘I’m screaming at the tide….’ It sums up the sense of hopelessness I feel.”

That sense of pressure, frustration and powerlessness is reflected in the song’s imposing yet carefully balanced sonic: a tension that runs throughout ‘A Door You Can Never Close.’
To anchor the album’s heavy-yet-spacious wall of sound, the band tracked the core instruments at their own Hawkhead Studios before moving drum production to London’s historic Battery Studios. Working inside Rogue Studios alongside producer Michael ‘Mykey’ Kew (A New Tomorrow), they tapped into the deep, cavernous room resonance of a tracking space legendary for hosting sessions by Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Def Leppard classic records. The final master mix leans into a massive, groove-laden low end, allowing a powerful distortion to sit seamlessly alongside fragile, melodic open space.
“We are incredibly proud of this album; it’s the culmination of two years of hard work and genuine soul-searching,” says Murray. “It sounds like a band that has honed its craft on a live stage. There’s a raw, visceral release here, but there is also a fragile gentleness that we hope connects with the listener. We made this record simply out of an absolute love for the music, and it represents a moment in time and a legacy we take immense pride in.”
Those Made Broken’s creative foundation stems from a Glasgow music college, where singer John Murray and guitarist Scott Wood initially bonded over an expansive love for music; bridging the intense, heavy sludge of Soundgarden with the emotional intimacy of Tori Amos. Now completed by bassist Paul Robertson (ex-Dirt) and drummer Martin John ‘Hutch’ Hutchison (ex-Vega), the lineup thrives on a collective creative synergy. By blending elements of grunge, melodic rock, and legacy thrash, On the new LP Those Made Broken deliver a pure, high-energy performance focused entirely on striking riffs and massive, memorable choruses.

Last year, trap metal progenitors DROPOUT KINGS dropped Yokai, the final record featuring enigmatic frontman Adam Ramey following his untimely passing. After bringing together a career spanning lineup of Kings current and past, the band took this celebration of Ramey’s life on the road to share with fans as everyone tried to heal from the shock. Lauded by fans and critics alike, with Nu Metal Agenda stating that “the name Dropout Kings should be on more people’s lips, no matter what the band’s next move may be”, Yokai proved to be a unifying force to a hurting community.
Today, the band releases an official music video for the track “Brace Yourself”. A mixture of concert, home, and performance footage, the video tries to encapsulate all the wonderful aspects of Ramey’s life as a member of the band, a member of a family, and a loving human being.

Black metal titans Marduk will release two premium collections in collaboration with record label and creative house Down With The Most High Productions. Moving completely away from conventional band merchandise, the “Militaria” and “Fuck Me Jesus” collections have been developed as high-end collectable releases, serving as a definitive physical celebration of the band’s rich legacy.
The Militaria collection focuses heavily on the military history, battlefield imagery and heraldic themes that have defined the band’s thematic world for over three decades. The collection brings these concepts to life through heavy-duty, bespoke items designed for long-term collectability. It features a bespoke decoration medal in the form of a cast iron cross bearing the Marduk wolf pentagram inside a premium collector box, as well as the bespoke ceremonial Marduk Legions military standard banner embroidered on real black velvet with metallic silver, matte red and black threads. A large synthetic leather Marduk Legions back patch packaged with detailed historical liner notes, specialised double-sided T-Shirts, a brushed metal effect sticker, and a heavy metallic badge button completes this initial instalment.
Unveiled at the same time, the Fuck Me Jesus collection celebrates the 35th anniversary of the band’s infamous 1991 demo tape. Esteemed as one of the most notorious and pivotal moments in the extreme music genre’s history, the demo is now honoured through this artistic curation process, as opposed to merely being reproduced. The highlight of the anniversary collection is a heavy, hand-moulded die-cast bronze sculpture finished with an aged green patina, which brings the demo’s artwork to life. As part of the anniversary range, also featured are a large textile banner flag and a premium metal badge presented on custom backing cards.
Both of these collections will be officially unveiled to the public for the very first time at Beyond the Gates Festival in Bergen, Norway, this July. At the Down With The Most High stand, the audience will get a unique chance to examine the quality of the craftsmanship, the choice of high-quality materials and detailed packaging. In-person showcases of the bronze sculptures, velvet banners and metal medals will allow the audience to feel and experience the true weight of the collection.
These collection items follow the success of the previously released Celtic Frost fine art and precious metal collection.
Daniel Dabadan Gayoso, Founder of Down With The Most High Productions and Curator of the Marduk collections, said: “It was our intention from the very start that this extreme music memorabilia be made into something more permanent and archival. MESHUGGAH members Tomas Haake and Mårten Hagström will make a special appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, signing for fans at the Reigning Phoenix Music/Stern Pinball booth, #4029, on Friday, July 24, at 3:30 p.m.
The appearance will coincide with the unveiling of a limited-edition MESHUGGAH x Hasbro’s Transformers T-shirt, created to celebrate four decades of The Transformers: The Movie and three decades of MESHUGGAH’s seminal album Destroy Erase Improve.
The collaboration draws inspiration from the transformation of Megatron in the 1986 animated film. After being destroyed in battle by Optimus Prime, Megatron is betrayed by Starscream and cast into space, before being rebuilt by Unicron as Galvatron, a narrative progression that mirrors the title Destroy Erase Improve.
“Big machinery. Massive destruction. Reconfiguration. A pretty accurate analogy to our sound, is it not?” says Mårten Hagström.
The limited-edition design brings together two influential forces in music and pop culture, connecting the mechanical destruction and transformation of the Transformers universe with the precision, power and constant evolution of MESHUGGAH’s sound. The artwork was done by renowned Transformers and G.I.JOE artist, Ken Christiansen. (@ken_christiansen_art ) Ken has spent over a decade shaping the Transformers franchise’s visual identity for Hasbro and Activision, from Generations toy packaging and Covenant of Primus lore art to Transformers video game concept art and IDW comic covers.
Ken comments, “Two of my favorite things are Transformers and metal music, when the chance came up to combine the two, how could I pass that up? And to do it for a killer band like MESHUGGAH, can’t get much better.”
Reigning Phoenix Music will also celebrate the band’s anniversary remastered reissues of Destroy Erase Improve and Catch Thirtythree with San Diego Comic-Con-exclusive splatter vinyl variants of both releases.
Fans attending the signing will have the opportunity to meet Tomas Haake and Mårten Hagström and explore the exclusive merchandise and vinyl offerings available at the booth.
