VOID CHAPTER Release Deluxe Edition of “humAnIty”, Out Now

Void Chapter have released their cinematic industrial rock album humAnIty Deluxe from FiXT. Purchase/Stream:https://link.fixtmusic.com/humanity_DE

Featuring appearances from Celldweller, Daedric, K Enagonio, Megan McDuffee, Robin Adams, and The Anix, the original album was a masterfully crafted exhilarating audio journey through a dystopian sci-fi world. humAnIty  showcasing the years of experience as solo artists and producers, with the complex pristine sound design and audio production, and the fabric of rich storytelling and songwriting for each finely crafted single.

Laying the foundation for a future dystopian world run completely by merciless AI, humAnIty picks up where previous albums The Sprawl and The Uprising left off. Each release features a facet of the bleak world inhabited by humanity in this dark future. The slow burning “Drones” tells the story of the day-to-day people trapped in hopelessness, and includes the first vocal performance from Void Chapter’s own Brian Skeel. While “Diabolic” (feat. Daedric) picks up the dark tale of a world under the control of an unmerciful A.I. maintaining its grip on humanity and our day to day lives.

In their own words, “Void Chapter is proud to offer the Deluxe Edition of their 2023 album humAnIty – which includes instrumental versions, and 3 VIP remixes from each of the Void Chapter members for the tracks ‘Resist’, ‘Reclaimer’ and ‘A Thousand Cries.’  This release additionally highlights a stellar remix of ‘Diabolic’ from HIGHSOCIETY, and an exclusive bonus track entitled ‘The Sky is Falling’, which gives us a sneak peek into a new musical direction for the project – with Void Chapter’s own Brian Skeel at the helm for lead vocals.”

“With this Deluxe Edition release, we wanted to try something a little bit different, keeping external remixes to a minimum, and really create an opportunity for each of us to express our creative visions individually,”
explains Void Chapter. “Brian Skeel took on the monster track “Resist” (feat. Celldweller) – highlighting his ability to blend complex production techniques with an exciting exploration of genres. Adam Fielding took on the popular track “Reclaimer” – taking us into an atmospheric club direction, introducing alternative melodies and a production style that invokes memories of “The Sprawl” album. Void 0110 (aka Otto Cate) tackled “A Thousand Cries” (feat. Robin Adams) – taking a completely new cinematic approach to the track – inspired by the outro track on the album “The Wreckage”. What emerged was a new creative vision for the track that focuses on the sheer emotional impact of its haunting melody, that rises into a climax of orchestrated intensity. This entire direction was inspired by the creation of a full storyboard based on the lore and lyrics behind the track, and written with a production approach that paid homage to modern movie trailers.”

Watch the “The Sky Is Falling” Visualizer.

humAnIty Deluxe also features VIP mixes for “A Thousand Cries,” “Reclaimer,” and a HIGHSOCIETY Remix of “Diabolic” (feat. Daedric) as well as a brand new single “The Sky Is Falling.” “The bonus track “The Sky is Falling” has had a long history – the original demo was written by Adam about 10 years ago, and has gone through several iteration changes. Placed on the shelf, brought back out and dusted off, re-shelved again, and re-inspired again and again. The final version that made it onto the Deluxe Edition of “humAnIty” is something we are incredibly proud of, and marks a new musical direction for the project, with our own Brian Skeel taking the helm as lead vocalist,” explains Void Chapter.

The Void Chapter project is the brainchild of producers/composers Otto Cate, Adam Fielding, and Brian Skeel, and delivers an exhilarating audio journey through dystopian sci-fi worlds. Built upon years of experience as solo artists and producers, the project unites their efforts under the fabric of rich storytelling and songwriting with pristine sound design and audio production.

“Path of Divinity” will be released on April 29th 2024 via Lethal Scissor Records.

This is a dark and atmospheric record with thought out structures and variations, trading the straight-forward approach of 2021’s “Realms” EP for a thicker, heavier, and more layered sound. “Path of Divinity” is a captivating blend of modern death metal and atmospheric elements filled with intricate melodies, delivering a haunting and immersive sonic experience. The unrelenting and polished aggression hangs in the balance above dark melodic passages, presenting a dynamic soundscape that serves as the band’s most devastating and focused offering to date.

For fans of: Cryptopsy, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Shadow Of Intent

Tracklist:

01. Eternal Sorrow (Intro)
02. Everlasting Chains Of Darkness
03. Human Cloning Facilities
04. Where Chaos Reigns
05. Behold the Highest Throne
06. Adrenochrome
07. Soul Harvest
08. Luciferic Allegiance
09. All Seeing Eye

Pre-orders here.

OLAMOT started in 2021 from the minds of Daniele Boccali (FICTIO SOLEMNIS) and Edoardo Casini (XENOFACTION, DESOURCE), eager to create a musical concept which develops a story lyrically and conceptually ideated by Edoardo Casini.

The first chapter started in 2022 with the release of “Realms” via Lethal Scissor Records, a highly successful 4 track EP which featured the contribution of many renowned musicians and artists, such as Francesco Ferrini (FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE) and Jei Doublerice (DESPITE EXILE). With this first effort the band told the story of Raziel, an individual who aspires to ally with the Devil to become a divinity himself.

The second album, the full-length “Path of Divinity”, sees the band in a bigger context encompassing 9 songs of extreme brutality. The new chapter of the story, based on Raziel’s quest to escape from Hell, musically further develops the intense and profound layers of sound showcased on the EP.

The whole concept will also be developed through a series of books already being written by Edoardo Casini. The same narrative line will be covered by FICTIO SOLEMNIS’ next albums, where the story will be seen by the perspective of the Angel Metatron.

Line-up:

Daniele Boccali – Songwriting, Rhythm Guitars
Edoardo Casini – Lyrics, Vocal Lines & Concept, Solo Guitars
Matteo “Shade” Vitelli – Vocals

Horndal, Sweden, 1909.
The Great Strike rages across the entire country. Local union uprisings are crushed one by one. But a small group stands defiant – the ironworkers of Horndal. A group led by 27-year-old Alrik Andersson.

The steel company’s struggle against the striking workers had led to starvation, famine and mass evictions of families – and was on the brink of sparking a civil war. Workers from all over the country traveled in solidarity to Horndal to fight alongside the unionized, against the Swedish military, who had been sent there with bayonets drawn. To avoid starting a war, the Prime Minister eventually ordered the soldiers to lay down their weapons and the company executives to stop evicting the starving families.

Alrik fought tirelessly for his fellow workers’ jobs, and was successful – but this came at a price. The company executives ensured that Alrik was blacklisted throughout Sweden, so that he could not find employment anywhere in the country. He was forced into exile and fled across the Atlantic on an overloaded ship with his wife and two small children. He ended up in Chicago, where he found work at a steel mill and was given the title – Head Hammer Man. He worked there until his death in 1970, never mentioning his life in Sweden to anyone. No one in Sweden, or even in Horndal remembers him.

Head Hammer Man is a tribute to Alrik Andersson, a chance for his story to live on, over one hundred years after he took a stand for the people of Horndal. His tale is woven throughout the most ambitious, inspired and expansive compositions that Horndal have created to date. Not only inspired by this one remarkable man, the band have drawn influence from all corners of their record collections. From Pugh Rogefeldt to Autopsy, Wipers to Judas Priest, Hawkwind to Mercyful Fate, Don Cherry to Voivod. A riff borrowed from Sparks here, a solo borrowed from Jake E Lee there. Brass arrangements alongside layered harmony guitars. John Barry’s The Persuaders theme next to King Crimson and The Jesus Lizard. Black Sabbath and The Shadows, Slayer and Sonic Youth.

The album was recorded in various locations across Sweden, including at the legendary Atlantis Metronome studios – including Swedish icons ABBA, whose very own grand piano is featured on Head Hammer Man. The album was co-produced by Anton Sundell, mixed by Simon Söderberg at Mayfire Studio, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg and Redmount Studios. Horndal invited their good friends to add to the album’s sonic landscape; Martin Hederos (The Soundtrack of Our Lives etc) plays organs and Moogs, whilst Henrik Palm (In Solitude, Ghost, Viagra Boys) contributed two hair raising guitar solos. The Head Hammer Man himself even makes a cameo with excerpts from a speech included in the title track. History may have forgotten him but Horndal never will.

HEAVEN-GEMINI Reveal Music Video ‘Pathomania’, Filmed in Various Locations

Finnish progressive metal band Heaven-Gemini has released the first single from their upcoming album.

“Pathomania delves into simulated worlds. The concept album, titled ‘Luonnonoikku’ (‘Freak of Nature’), tells a story that has a handful of ethical dilemmas. The single presents one of them: if life were to occur in an endless loop of simulations, what is the value of one’s or another’s death ,” the band explains.

Composer. Aleksi Kokko
Lyricist. Santtu Paananen
Arrangement. Aleksi Kokko, Santtu Paananen, Mikko soininen, Eetu Savolainen

Formed in 2018, the band released their debut EP “Dolores” in the fall of 2022. “Pathomania” represents the band’s heaviest offering to date.

“Pathomania is built from simple basic blocks, ones and zeros. The working title of the song, ‘Riffiest riff,’ tells the essence,” composer and singer-guitarist Aleksi Kokko says.

“I remember my initial reaction to the first demo Aleksi sent was ‘holy f***’ or something along those lines. The riff department is quite punishing. The lyrics ended up being quite cruel as well,” lyricist Santtu Paananen says.

The music video was filmed in November 2023 at five different locations, such as a movie theater in Mikkeli. Santtu Paananen was responsible for the video.

Musically, the song incorporates elements from Gojira-inspired riff assaults to rhythmic djent.

“The album has been in the works in studios and home studios, as well as in the darkest corners of the mind over the last year and a half. The bar has been set high,” the band reveals.

“Luonnonoikku” will be released through Inverse Records in the fall of 2024. The album was mixed by Seppo Nummela and mastered by Joni Borodavkin. The cover art is by Jussi Huttunen.

Heaven-Gemini is:
Aleksi Kokko: guitar, vocals
Mikko Soininen: guitar
Santtu Paananen: drums
Eetu Savolainen: bass

Prog-Metallers EXIST IMMORTAL Release New Single + Video ‘Dreamscape’

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Exist Immortal. Leave a comment

UK prog-metal outfit Exist Immortal return with another catchy, melodic banger, ‘Dreamscape’, which further showcases the band’s songwriting prowess. The accompanying video showcases the band’s most recent Japanese run supporting the legendary Cynic, which can be seen below.  The band also just announced a slew of UK shows (see below).

Stream the single at https://open.spotify.com/album/18uCUgTdaFTwp9A7IchmKw

Exist Immortal state: “We are excited to present our new song, ‘Dreamscape,’ to the world. It is about escapism into a simulated/enhanced world, contrasting reality with a digital realm as a metaphor for seeking inner peace and creative freedom. There’s also a struggle to find tranquility in a chaotic world and the power of imagination in overcoming personal conflicts.

“We always wanted to make a cool video for a new song while we were in Japan, but once this song came about we realised it was the perfect candidate. It’s a super upbeat and energetic song and it perfectly mirrored the energy everyone was bringing while we were on that trip. On top of that, it was kinda like a dream in itself – going away with a bunch of your friends to play amazing shows with legends like Cynic is something a past version of us would barely believe was actually happening!

“This is the second of a whole bunch of new singles we are going to be running full campaigns for this year and so far we’re stoked on the way this release format is working out. Every single song gets the full attention it deserves and we are super confident in all of them.

“To us, this song is a great representation of how it feels when you’re literally living the dream and doing things together that we are really proud of. Its got energy, its got heaps of nice melodies, its got super heavy parts and most importantly its a little bit of everything we love. It was also a really cool opportunity to emulate some of the more upbeat and catchy elements that we love about other music whilst still bringing the super low and heavy sections that seem to be coming out whenever we write together. We hope you enjoy it.”

Exist Immortal have announecd the following shows, with support from label mates My Favourite Nemesis:

May 23: The Hairy Dog, Derby
May 24: Fighting Cocks, Kingston

‘Dreamscape’ follows previous single ‘Play Pretend‘.

Hailing from the Southeast of England, Exist Immortal combine metalcore and technical metal with pop influences and have spent the last few years touring across the world developing their sound, growing their fanbase and leaving a lasting impact on audiences that witness the powerful live show.
The band have played festivals such as Metaldays (SLOV), Euroblast (GER), Maximum Rock (ROM), Complexity Fest (NL) and have toured with high profile acts such as Sikth, Textures, Landmvrks and Cynic. EXIM have also headlined the main stage at UK Tech Fest (2022), and in 2023 completed sold out tours in Mexico and most recently Japan, ending what has been a whirlwind year of highlights, cementing the band as one of the hottest acts in the progressive metal/metalcore scene.
Following on from their self-titled album (November 2022 via Seek & Strike) which received universal acclaim from the music press and fans alike, and projecting the band to new levels, EXIM are excited to present their latest offering ‘Play Pretend’ to the world, beginning a new era for the band.

Kurt Valencia – guitars
Mikee Gee – guitars
David Billote – bass
