Finnish death metal trio Inborn Tendency has been working at a fast pace on new material and will release a new, even tighter and more tough provoking song on March 29th, which addresses the topic of domestic violence.
“This song really challenged us with it’s content, but the theme deserves to be brought to light. Musically we are super pleased with the results!”, comments the singer Ville Herranen.
The song has been developed in collaboration with producer Juho Koskinen (Fried Music), who was also responsible for the song’s mixing and mastering. The cover art was created by Henri Tervapuro.

The track “Look Back / The Black” (feat. Adam Holzman, Michal Šelep) is featured on the album “Extinction Horizon” by TRILOBEAT. The album takes its name from the black ash line that signals the demise of civilization during archaeological excavations. It consists of a coherent story mapping the theme of the climate crisis and the fate of our civilization, delivered through instrumental compositions influenced by alternative music, nu-jazz, or prog-rock.

Trilobeat is an emerging band based in Slovakia, which crosses borders with its new ambitious album and establishes cooperation with musicians all over the world. They create and perform genre-blending instrumental music supported by emotional visual projection. Their work has attracted music fans of prog-rock, nu-jazz, alternative, and even classical music.
The main ideas of their art are various contemporary problems and crises of humankind – existentialism, unsustainability, insensibility but also aspects of life of each human being – love, sadness, misery, or contentment in simple living. Since its beginning in 2017, the band has released several singles and audio-visual recordings as well as an eponym debut in 2019, which established its spot on the alternative music scene. The band´s live performances have been broadcasted on national TV and singles have been included in playlists on several radio stations. The band also gave outstanding performances at festivals in Central Europe, while also holding more intimate events during their multiple club tours of their home country, Slovakia.
The band’s second album, “Zánikový horizont / Extinction Horizon” was released in 2022 via Hevhetia, a prestigious Slovak label. It boasts of a collaboration between both local and international talents featuring names such as Adam Holzman, keyboardist (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis, Trifecta), and David Kollar, guitarist (KOMARA, Steven Wilson, Erik Truffaz) in addition to the original line-up. The album is an impressive sound adventure, while their compositions combine variable electronic surfaces, a distinct piano sound, and a rough rock background. The outstanding world-class sound quality of the recording was created in cooperation with the multi-genre Toronto-based producer, Vlad Avy (Iamthemorning, Gleb Kolyadin).
In 2023, the band signed a worldwide distribution deal with Epictronic, and the album will try to get the attention it deserves also beyond the borders of Slovakia.
One of Washington DCs most entertaining and electrifying acts, Never Elected(nominated as a finalist in this year’s 2024 WAMMIES (Washington, D.C.’s version of the Grammy’s for Best Hard Rock / Metal Single (All MY Life), Best Hard Rock / Metal Band, and Best Hard Rock / Metal Album) has been writing and releasing thought-provoking material based on socio-political themes over the last few years. Their upcoming re-release of “Turbulent”, April 19th, is a look back at turbulent times in vocalist Sujit Kumar’s life. This album has deeply emotionally charged lyrics, grungy riffs, and hard-hitting drums that provide a punchy, catchy, hard rock fun time. Their latest lyric video for “One Of These Days” gives a taste of what’s to come. The band comments:
“The album is a deep reflection of the turbulent times of our vocalist’s life. From the reactions that we have seen out of playing these songs live, they’ve ranged from completely rocking out to people being in tears after. Sometimes a song completely changes direction from the original idea that it was built upon, we listen to the jam, and if it seems like it’s connecting, Sujit usually ends up putting lyrics on it, and we collectively put the finishing touches on it.”
Never Elected was formed by Sujit Kumar and Altan Aydin with a common love for all things grunge and rock ‘n roll. Dr. T brings the low end with melodic bass riffs and rounds off the sound with Wesley Meyer being a driving force seated behind the drums. The band has played numerous shows over the years, engaging audiences wherever they go with plans to tour this year promoting the album re-release.

Hell:on was formed in early 2005 in Zaporizhzhia, Eastern Ukraine. Hell:on plays death metal with oriental and tribal elements. The band’s lyrics generally deal with mysticism, philosophy, and anti-religion. During the recordings of previous albums, the band has worked with Andreas Kisser, Jeff Waters, Andy LaRocque, and Marek Pajak. In 2019, the band was nominated as the Best Ukrainian Metal Act and has shared the stage with Rotting Christ, Kreator, Marduk, Napalm Death, etc.
GENTLE GIANT have released their video for ‘Two Weeks In Spain‘, album ‘The Missing Piece‘ remixed by Steven Wilson is released today, 29th March on Chrysalis Records.
In 1977 Gentle Giant recorded their ninth studio album “The Missing Piece”. It was a time of change. Punk, disco and rap were altering the musical landscape and even this well-established progressive rock band were willing to explore new directions. Side one saw them experimenting with quirky pop (“Two weeks in Spain”), a grandiose power ballad (“I’m turning around’), syncopated funk (“Who do you think you are?”) and even the punky aggression of “Betcha thought we couldn’t do it.” Meanwhile the call and response soul shouting of “Mountain Time” hearkened back to the “big sound” of their Simon Dupree R & B revue days.
Normal service was resumed on side two with some of their most sublime and intricate progressive stylings to date. The breezily baroque “As old as you’re young” led into the yearningly elegiac “Memories of Old Days” with a particularly heartfelt vocal from Derek Shulman. The percussive tour de force of “Winning” then set up the blazing finale of “For Nobody,” another mind blowing complex collection of driving intertwining riffs that the band would nonchalantly thunder through with apparent ease.
It remains a polarizing effort amongst fans to this day, some bemused by its diversity, others enchanted by its versatility and sense of humor. “The Missing Piece” certainly proves that Gentle Giant could play anything they set their minds to. It was the last Gentle Giant album to chart in the USA.
Award winning producer and musician Steven Wilson continues his association with the band, remixing the album in Dolby Atmos, Stereo and 5.1 surround sound. In addition, the digipak CD/Blu-ray version also contains an instrumental mix, the original 1977 stereo mix and videos for each track. All remixes except the Atmos contain a bonus track, a previously unreleased outtake of “Winning.”
