This week the band has unleashed a stack of fresh content across Spotify, giving fans a deeper look into both the past and the present.
Leading the charge are newly remixed and remastered versions of “Jackie Seth”—now featuring Nathan Peachey on vocals—alongside refreshed editions of “Suspended,In Love”, and Live Version of ‘Jackie Seth’ in Melbourne.. These songs have been given new life, delivering the power and clarity they’ve always deserved.
On the other end of the spectrum are three completely raw rehearsal recordings: “Weight of Humanity”, “Step Right Up”, and “The Invisible Countdown”. Captured during the band’s first rehearsals with new keyboard player Luke Rosten, these performances are unpolished, honest, and exactly what real musicians sound like when they’re building something special.
No studio trickery. No AI shortcuts. Just five musicians in a room locking in for what’s ahead.

On July 17, The Dogs released “Politics Find You”, the fourth single from their upcoming album “Trauma Junkie”.
While the first singles showcased different sides of the album’s raw energy, “Politics Find You” slows things down and gives the melodies more room to breathe. The result is a dark, melancholic rock ballad. Featuring a massive outro and one of the album’s most reflective moments, the song reveals a side of The Dogs that rarely gets this much space.
As always, we asked the songwriter (in this case Kristopher Schau) to give us a few pointers about the song. What it’s about, why he wrote it, and so on. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much we could actually use, so we’ll just share his response in its entirety:
“This was the first time I actually ‘threatened’ the rest of the band, as I recall. The moment I’d finished the verse melody and lyrics, I sent them the voice memo and told them they had until the end of the day to decide whether it belonged in The Dogs. Otherwise, I’d take the song somewhere else. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier with the combination of melody and lyrics. Of course, it was impossible to recreate that feeling in the studio, so it’s a shame no one will ever hear the demo. Hell of a nice outro too, if you ask me.”
The new album “Trauma Junkie” is releasing September 18.
ABOUT The Dogs are the Oslo-based band where only one member is actually from Oslo.
A punk rock band that believes they play soul and garage rock. In short, a band that has no idea who they are or what they’re doing. This confusion has however resulted in a total of 12 albums, countless Norwegian tours, unusual one-off events such as opening for Bruce Springsteen, and musical contributions to the new Harry Hole series on Netflix. In other words, they are well prepared for the Alzheimer’s they all have coming.
Confusingly enough, all signs are still pointing upward for the “Oslo band” in the autumn of their lives.

To celebrate the announcement, SERIOUS BLACK have released the album’s first single, “Last Man Standing,” accompanied by a brand-new official music video. The song delivers an uplifting anthem about perseverance, self-belief and refusing to give up, even when faced with doubt, ridicule and resistance.
“For me, this song is more relevant than ever when you look at today’s society”, Mario Lochert reveals.“Someone who believes in themselves, pursues their own goals and wants to achieve something is often laughed at or not taken seriously. You hear comments like: ‘You’d be better off learning a proper trade’ or are simply labelled a weirdo. It was no different for me back then. But the initial laughter later turned into envy and resentment. Last Man Standing is precisely about this journey and about staying true to your own path despite all the opposition.”

Because of his expressive voice and his intuitive feeling for great melodies, the songs have gained more clarity and a more direct presence.”

Austrian post rock and post metal outfit Our Ceasing Voice unveil their new single and official video “The Man You Wanted Me To Be”, while revealing all the details of their long-awaited fourth full-length album, “The Origin of Everything”, set for release on October 2nd, 2026 via Argonauta Records on CD, deluxe colored vinyl and digital formats.
Nearly a decade after their last full-length release, The Origin of Everything marks a powerful return for the Innsbruck-based quartet. Written over several years, the album reflects on identity, memory, belonging and personal transformation, exploring the tension between embracing the future while confronting the past.
“The Origin of Everything” is the band’s most personal and emotionally resonant work to date. Blending cinematic post rock atmospheres, crushing post metal dynamics and alternative rock sensibilities, the record expands the band’s sonic palette while remaining unmistakably true to its identity. Echoes of Caspian’s expansive soundscapes, the weight of Cult of Luna and the emotional depth of Mark Lanegan coexist naturally throughout an album built on contrast, vulnerability and intensity.
Created entirely independently, from the earliest songwriting sessions through recording, mixing and artwork, the album stands as the culmination of nearly twenty years of artistic evolution.
Bandleader and guitarist Sebastian Obermeir comments:
“There are moments when everything shifts. And only later do you begin to understand what has shaped you.”
He adds about the album:
“These songs contain everything that has accompanied us for years — everything we are, were, and might become. It would be easy to simply look back on twenty years as a band. But wouldn’t that only reveal what we already know? So you look inwards. Perhaps even to the origin of everything.”
The new single “The Man You Wanted Me To Be” perfectly captures the emotional core of the album, balancing soaring melodies with the heavier textures that have become a defining element of the band’s sound.
Speaking about the song, Obermeir explains:
“A lot of ‘The Origin of Everything’ is about finding yourself and your place in the world. ‘The Man You Wanted Me To Be’ is about acknowledging that there are people in your life who shape you and help you see yourself more clearly. People who make you better simply by believing you already are.”
He continues:
“Musically, this song reflects exactly who Our Ceasing Voice are today. There is the more inviting, almost radio-friendly side of us alongside the heavier side built around post-rock textures, tremolo guitars and intricate drumming. Instead of choosing between them, we let them coexist. Becoming someone doesn’t mean becoming someone else. We already carry many versions of ourselves within us.”
Following the release of the acclaimed comeback single “Diamond Eyes”, this new chapter further establishes Our Ceasing Voice as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary atmospheric heavy music.
Vanaheim, an international storytelling caravan, has its roots in the land of the far sight, namely the Netherlands, in the city of Tilburg. Since their founding in 2015, the quintet has been on an everlasting journey through foreign lands, to spread folktales of their own.
Today, Vanaheim release their third single, along with a music video clip, for the album title track “Roede voor de Borst”.
The band comments about “Roede voor de Borst” (English: Rod to the Breast):
“After an exhausting search through the mist, the miller wakes up in a muddy field from a terrifying dream. Driven by a bad feeling, he rushes back to the mill, where a shocking reality awaits: he sees his own lifeless body lying in bed, while villagers gently prepare him for burial. In this space between life and death, he realizes his dreams have faded and his time has run out. There is a cruel irony to his fate. Just now, as he has finally uncovered the truth and his hunger for life has returned, he is forced to accept the silence. The clarity he searched for only arrives at the moment he must let go. He finally gives in to the call of his ancestors, who had been claiming his soul for a long time. As the community pays its last respects, he finds peace in the knowledge that they never abandoned him, no matter how far he had strayed.
What makes this song so special to us is the depth of emotion it carries. The lyrics touch on a deep emotional crisis and an unsettling realization. Beneath that weight lies a gentle message: life is finite. We hope our listeners recognize the beauty of being alive here and now, rather than only realizing it on their deathbed, hoping for a heaven after life, while the heaven was always here on Earth, quietly present, simply unnoticed.”
The new album “Roede voor de Borst”, is set to be released on September 4th. It will be released on a Digipak CD as well as a colored Vinyl. You can also find a black vinyl version exclusivly in the Bandshop, as well as the Labelshop on Bandcamp, which also offers an exclusive shirt as a bundle.
The album features top musicians like Coen Janssen of Epica and Nils Fische, live flutuist of Eluveitie, who enhanced the band’s sound with their performances on all new tracks. The Dutch luminary of all things symphonic and melodic metal, aka Joost van den Broek produced, recorded and mixed the album before it was mastered by Finnish mastering legend Mika Jussila in Helsinki.
“Roede voor de Borst” involves the listener in an immersive storyline about regrets, despair, hope and salvation. A musical journey full of surprises coated by a Dutch 19th century setting that pulls you deep into a book of untold legends. The Dutch vocals award these songs with an emotional honesty which leads every sung word directly under your skin. With a rousing mix of symphonic heaviness, elegant folk-inspired melodies and grounding death metal riffs, “Roede voor de Borst” represents the next level of Vanaheim and a new level of epic folk metal.
