Watch the video to the band’s single ‘Rise of the Lifeless’ here:

Still precociously young, Tortured Demon have already opened for Evile and Xentrix in 2022, and, at Bloodstock 2021, such was their performance, the Jagermeister Stage fell down around them.

Drawing the largest crowd ever seen on that stage, Tortured Demon were since been invited back to perform at Bloodstock 2023.

Releasing their debut in 2021, recorded when all bandmembers were still at school, Tortured Demon have moved up a gear with their new record, Rise Of The Lifeless.

Rise Of The Lifeless was self-released by the band worldwide, except for Japan, where they’ve already inked a deal with Spiritual Beast/Universal Music Japan. Tortured Demon’s debut – In Desperation’s Grip – was DiskUnion (Tokyo’s leading record store)’s best-selling international metal record on release week. Again, no mean feat for a band so young.

Tracklisting

1: An Empire Condemned
2: Rise Of The Lifeless
3: Virtual Death
4: Global Threat
5: Disfavour
6: Conflict Of Interest
7: Erase Your Life
8: This War Will Come To You
9: Eyes In The Fire
10: The Damage Is Done

Since 2018, Oldham brothers Jacob and Joe Parkinson have been launching a full-scale assault on the UK thrash scene. The band have built a loyal live following nationwide thanks to their impressive history of high-octane shows for a band at such an early stage in their career, culminating in their first headline tour – the Tour Of The Lifeless – in October 2023. Packing venues nationwide, Tortured Demon cemented themselves as a legitimate UK headliner, despite having no agent, management or record label at the time. This is a testament to the hard work and extreme dedication that Jacob and Joe Parkinson continue to pour into their craft, even after 5 years on the road.

Now partnered with Route One Booking, the band welcomed fresh blood in the form of guitarist Rory Marsland-Smith and bassist Luke Entwistle in 2024, launching into their most extensive touring year to date.

The wait is over! Italian bassist and composer ALBERTO RIGONI has unveiled his new masterpiece, the single ‘Fly Me To The Moon’, out now via Sliptrick Records! The single is taken from Alberto’s upcoming album “Unexpected Lullabies”, set to captivate audiences on June 4th, 2024!

This is not just another cover; it’s a profound homage and a bold reimagining of the beloved classic that pays tribute to the legendary Frank Sinatra, infused with the unique artistry and emotion only Rigoni can deliver.

The single is now available at

    & other major stores

With ‘Fly Me To The Moon,’ Rigoni invites us on a musical venture that begins with the soft, enchanting tones of a xylophone, crafting a lullaby that gently cradles the listener’s soul. But the journey doesn’t end there; it escalates into a powerful rock saga, showcasing Rigoni’s electrifying prowess and innovative spirit. This rendition is a delicate balance of grace and energy, a bridge between the serene and the dynamic, all while maintaining the integrity of the original piece.

The narrative of this song is further enriched by Rigoni’s choice of instrument—the fretless bass. This choice is not incidental but deeply intentional, allowing for a fluidity and expressiveness that breathes new life into the classic tune. The fretless bass sings, it cries, it celebrates, encapsulating the essence of Sinatra’s timeless appeal with each note.

This single serves not just as a tribute but as a redefinition of what a cover can be—a novel experience that transcends generations and genres, inviting listeners to explore familiar melodies through a fresh, innovative lens. Available on all major streaming platforms, ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ is a precursor to Rigoni’s eagerly anticipated album, Unexpected Lullabies, set to captivate audiences on June 4th, 2024, through Sliptrick Records.

Anticipation for this musical journey can be satiated with pre-orders for Unexpected Lullabies now open. This album promises to be a collection of auditory wonders, each track a testament to Rigoni’s genius and his ability to transcend musical boundaries. Featuring a symphony of guest musicians alongside Rigoni’s virtuosic bass, Unexpected Lullabies is poised to be a beacon for lovers of music, an invitation to explore the depths of creativity and emotion.

What makes ‘Unexpected Lullabies’ even more exciting is the assembly of musical titans. The album features the legendary bassist Michael Manring, the keyboard wizardry of Alessandro Bertoni (of the Graham Bonnet Band) and Vitalij Kuprij (known for Artension and Trans-Siberian Orchestra), and many more yet-to-be-revealed guest artists.

Prepare for takeoff with Alberto Rigoni’s ‘Fly Me To The Moon,’ a single that not only honors Frank Sinatra but elevates the classic to new heights of musical brilliance. This is not just a song; it’s a journey across the cosmos of sound, a fusion of past and present, and a celebration of music’s power to connect, soothe, and inspire. Join us on this unforgettable expedition, where every chord is a discovery, and every rhythm is a heartbeat of the universe.

Genre-Defying Duo LETHE Release New Single ‘Éternel’ from Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 16, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LETHE. Leave a comment

When they first got together in 2012, Tor-Helge Skei (MANES, MANII etc.) and Anna Murphy (CELLAR DARLING, ex-ELUVEITIE) had it in mind that LETHE would act as a home for their musical and artistic aspirations.  Which is precisely what happened.  And now, two much-admired albums later, the Swiss/Norwegian duo are ready with  their third full-length album “Alienation”.

Ahead of its release on Dark Essence Records on the 26th April, a second track from “Alienation” has been released.  Titled “Éternel” the single can be downloaded or streamed from a variety of services at: https://orcd.co/eternel

Introducing the single, LETHE had this to say:

The album is pretty varied, and it’s difficult to select a few songs to represent it as a whole.. but, trying to show some different sides of it, here’s a slightly ‘sharper’ and more energetic song this time, featuring the usual suspects – Eivind Fjøseide on guitars, Tor Arne Helgesen on drums, plus Pierre Ripka on vocals… enjoy! Become Alienated!

Named after one of the five rivers of Hades in Greek mythology, LETHE was built on the premise that the music created by the duo would follow only one rule, and that is that there would be no rules, no expectations and no compromises, thus allowing the band to experiment with their sound at every possible level.

LETHE’s music is therefore quite unique and very personal.  A melting pot of dark rock, pop, electronic, experimentation and metal, filled with an atmosphere that is cold and harsh and interwoven with beautiful melodies and mesmerizing grooves.

It is a sound that has variously been described as “genre-bending”, “style-bastardization”, “eclectic”, and even “just plain weird”, resulting in LETHE being able to straddle a variety of disciplines, without having to fit themselves into any one in particular.  Something that has drawn fans of all kinds of genres to the band.

“Alienation” itself took longer to appear given the circumstances that affected so much new music over the past few years,  and it continues to explore LETHE’s  idiosyncratic soundscapes, whilst at the same time giving Tor-Helge and Anna the freedom to explore new avenues, as they explain:

The 3rd chapter of the Lethe saga is, as always, an eclectic blend of expressions and atmospheres and moods, and not many defined borders, styles or rules.. Lyrically it’s about being outsiders, outcasts, and alienated in various forms, mentally, physically,  ideologic(ally).. and musically.. (hence the album title).. So, join us on another journey, a personal and alternate one..

Track listing on “Alienation”, which features guest appearances by members of ATROX, MANES, THE 3RD and THE MORTAL, and artwork by Tom Korsvold. is as follows:

  1. Anhedonia
  2. Brighter
  3. When it’s Over
  4. Éternel
  5. Crossroads
  6. Sedator
  7. Erosion
  8. Worm

“Alienation” will be released in CD, Digital and Limited Edition Purple Vinyl formats, and is now available to pre-order from:
