Italian psychedelic doom metal trio UFOMAMMUT celebrates their 25th Anniversary in 2024 including the release of their massive tenth studio full-length, Hidden. Today, the band confirms the album for May release on Neurot Recordings/Supernatural Cat Records, unveiling the cover art, track listing, preorders, and an animated video for the song “Leeched.”
With the lead single, Poia (guitars, effects) writes, “‘Leeched,’ the first song from the new full-length album Hidden, perfectly represents the new direction of UFOMAMMUT, which began with the album Fenice and continued with the EP Crookhead and reiterates once again that there are no failures or hesitations in our sonic research. The fusion between heaviness and psychedelia, an obsession of the band since the beginning, takes on a new, changing form in ‘Leeched.’”
Watch the metamorphosis of UFOMAMMUT’s “Leeched” transpire via a captivating Malleus-animated video right here, the song is now available on all digital providers:
Rising from the ashes of their prior band Judy Corda, UFOMAMMUT formed in the late 1990s by Poia and Urlo (bass, vocals, effects, synths), together with Vita (drums). With Levre taking over on drums in 2021, the band has undergone a rebirth, culminating in the release of the 2022-released Fenice LP, and on Halloween 2023, the Crookhead EP.
Over the course of two-and-a-half decades, UFOMAMMUT has developed a unique sound that combines heavy, dynamic riff worship with a deep understanding of psychedelic tradition in music, which has resulted in a cosmic, futuristic, and technicolor sound that fully immerses listeners. They’ve produced a wide spectrum of albums, EPs, live albums, a box set, compilation tracks, and covers – including a track on the Superunknown Redux Soundgarden tribute album.
Now, in 2024, as they celebrate their quarter-century milestone, UFOMAMMUT is set to release their tenth LP, Hidden. This album marks a shift in the band’s musical composition, aiming for a more intense and heavy sound, as they have displayed over the prior two releases. The title, Hidden, reflects the concept of the presence of everything in our existence and the ability to bring to light what lies within us. With Hidden, the banddelves into a sonic journey that traverses vast expanses of space and time. From the crushing heaviness to the hauntingly melodies, from the textured compositions to the otherworldly atmospheres, Hidden testifies to the never-ending evolution of UFOMAMMUT and their mastery of creating immersive sonic experiences: a fitting celebration of their 25 years of sonic exploration and experimentation.
Like any good psychedelic trip, the music of UFOMAMMUT has always been inextricably intertwined with visual art. Poia describes longer compositions, “like a painting,” as if to reinforce the relevance and importance of visual art in their music. And as always, the artwork, videos, and all visuals/graphics forHidden were created by Malleus Rock Art Lab, the rock/music graphic design collective of which Poia and Urlo are part of with Lu.
Hidden was recorded at Flat Scenario Studio in Piemonte, Italy, with Lorenzo Stecconi handling the mixing and mastering, and Luca Grossi overseeing vocal tracking.
Hiddenwill be released on CD, LP, and digital on May 17th, in North America through Neurosis’ Neurot Recordings, the vinyl pressed on a Silver Nugget variant in a gatefold jacket. In Europe, the band’s Supernatural Cat Records will release it, a standard version on 180-gram Marbled Purple And Black variant, and a limited version of 500 copies on 180-gram Crystal Clear variant crafted by hand using photosensitive colors that are activated by sunlight, bringing the concept of the album to life, with multiple bundles and options.

Rome-based hard rock unit SONS OF THUNDER will release the new album “Thunderhood” on May 3rd 2024 via Time To Kill Records.
The first single “No Fear, No Pain, No Gain” is now streaming HERE.
The band commented: “This debut single for Time To Kill Records represents our journey so far and will be the mantra that will accompany us for a long time: if you fight with your fear (or despite your fear) and you are ready to endure… the results will come! The reference to Rocky Balboa is evident, but who better than that character can embody this concept? NEVER GIVE UP!”.
Tracklist:
1 – Thunder Again 2 – Turn It Up 3 – We Sold Our Souls 4 – Thunderhood 5 – Louder 6 – Or We Get Angry 7 – I Don’t Piss From My Knees 8 – No Fear, No Pain, No Gain 9 – House Of Dogs 10 – Stronghead 11 – Echo Of Thunder
SONS OF THUNDER were born in Rome in 2017 and debuted as a live band, starting to perform in most Italian clubs, making space within the local underground. Thanks to their overwhelming live energy and a first successful demo, they guarantee the growing interest of the public and professionals. In 2021 they entered the Kick Recording Studio, under the expert guidance of Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance, Nanowar Of Steel, Shores Of Null) and Matteo Gabbianelli (Kutso, Payback), to record their first single and completed at Bloom Recording Studio their debut album: a true Hard Rock manifesto of 11 songs.
Proudly derivative but never banal, inspired by the sounds of classic bands such as AC/DC and Motörhead, SONS OF THUNDERwill certainly also be appreciated by fans of contemporary hard rock (Airbourne, Thundermother, The Darkness, Volbeat, Turbonegro), thanks also an audio production that winks at the Northern European musical panorama.
Mr. Jon Zazula (leader of Megaforce Records, responsible for the success of bands like Metallica, Anthrax and Mercyful Fate) describes SONS OF THUNDER as “AC/DC on steroids”, underlining how the band manages to maintain a strong identity while making clear their musical influences.
In 2021 the band released the official video for the debut single “Turn It Up”, produced by the Sanda Movies team (Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade, Spinefarm Records), receiving excellent feedback (150+ Youtube comments and over 7,000 unique viewers in first hours of publication). The song was included in the Heavy Rotation of Radio Rock FM 106.600, a historic broadcaster in central Italy with over 140,000 daily listeners, remaining in the ranking of the most voted singles for over a month. The same fate awaits the second single, “Thunderhood”, accompanied by a memorable lyric video. The relationship with the historic Roman broadcaster is consolidated with interviews and live sets on the radio also during the fundraising for AIL Roma.
In 2022, with the regular resumption of live shows, SONS OF THUNDERperform for the Radio Rock 106.6 fm party, opening for the legendary punk band Klaxon, at the Frantic Festival (along with Doyle from Misfits, Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin, Benediction, Godflesh and many others) as well as direct support for the Tygers Of Pan Tang Italian tour.
In 2023 SONS OF THUNDERreleased an hard rock cover of Tom Jones and Mousse T.’s song “Sex Bomb”.
Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming music!

KAMELOT‘s latest album, The Awakening, debuted at #2 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart and #27 on the Current Album Sales chart, and connected with fans and critics alike – touted by many as the best late-era KAMELOT release to date! The album enters the band’s legacy as their most massive and diverse offering yet – mixing symphonic, gothic, melodic, progressive and power metal styles while yielding some of the heaviest tracks in the band’s history. Having reigned supreme with the release of internationally top-charting melodic metal pinnacles such as The Fourth Legacy (1999), The Black Halo (2005), Silverthorn (2012), Haven (2015, #1 US Hard Rock Albums), and most recently 2018’s acclaimed The Shadow Theory (#2 US Hard Music Albums), KAMELOT’s intense brand of ultramodern gothic and symphonic theatricality is amplified further and with more emotionality than ever on The Awakening.
Showcasing the incomparable, stage-seasoned vocal acrobatics of Tommy Karevik and increasingly airtight, renowned technical teamwork of guitarist Thomas Youngblood, drummer Alex Landenburg, keyboardist Oliver Palotai and bassist Sean Tibbetts, KAMELOT’s score-like 13th studio album is accented by guest contributions from the likes of Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum) and renowned instrumentalists like violinist Florian Janoske and cellist Tina Guo. The Awakening features crystal clear modern production helmed by the band and longtime producer Sascha Paeth, plus mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen of Hansen Studios.
“10/10 “Masterpiece!” – Metal-Temple
“The Awakening is KAMELOT’s best album in almost 20 years…” – The Prog Mind (US), 9/10
“The Awakening is KAMELOT performing at the top of their game.” – New Noise Magazine (US)
“The Awakening is probably the hottest candidate for the (melodic) metal album of the year.” – Rock It! (DE) – 10/10

On her new EP, Sylvaine calls out from the deepest and darkest depths of emotion, only to reverberate with the ethereal power of her voice.
Eg Er Framand comes out this Friday, March 22. But you can listen to all six songs today on Season of Mist’s YouTube channel.
Sylvaine has grown into a guiding light for ambient post-metal, but her second EP traces back to her earliest roots.
Kathrine Shepard grew up in Norway, amidst the contrasts between nature and urbanity, on the outskirts of downtown Oslo. While studying music, dance and drama in high school, she performed several times at the Kampen Church. This 19th century relic is where Kathrine recorded most of Eg Er Framand, which includes interpretations of traditional Norwegian folk songs, along with three of her own original songs to the cannon.
When Sylvaine first heard the title track, it hit her like no other song had before. Since then, she’s shared “Eg Er Framand” with rapturous audiences everywhere, but this EP is the first time she’s captured its magic on record. Each note is held with soft restraint, as if cupped into the palm of her hand, like an offering. Close your eyes and envision her reaching through the trees, into the shadows, as her feet slowly lift off the ground.
To this day, “Dagsens Augo Sloknar” still has mysterious origins, but the lyrics were written in 1891 by Elias Blix, a professor-turned-politician who also wrote hymns. Staying true to the original’s delicate, reverent melody, Sylvaine sings in a breathy, elongated whisper that’s haunting and soothing, like a shadow. But while it opens with just a steady hum of organ, her rendition ends by pulling you into a trance.
Eg Er Framand intimately explores the transient nature of humanity against a steady, familiar backdrop of Scandinavian landscapes. Ascend with Sylvaine into a land before time that feels both ancient and renewed.
Since Eg Er Framand was announced, Kathrine has been revealing its overarching narrative piece by piece. With the album’s arrival on YouTube, she’s now giving us its final chapter so that we can read the whole story from start to finish.
A beating heart so pure Who wished to feel once more As her eyes slowly opened to the world
She lifted her head And at once beheld A light in front of her
A path to take The choice to make To lead her on her way
A story about to begin Of a soul ignited again On a road to turn loose dismay
This guiding light So strong and bright Called out for her to follow
For this life Could lead to strife If her core she did not shadow
In heavy rags draped With a spirit that ached She started moving forward
As she stumbled thru A dance of hope grew The motion to leave her untethered
She reached out for the light Yet darkness did not fight To be unbroken, the two should marry
For truths she desired to meet In this she happiness could seek Releasing the clasp of woe and worry
This world may seem cold And peace it might not hold Yet so much beauty she encountered
But only for a moment in time Does one get to experience this life Accepting this gift, she no longer suffered

Kathrine Shepard, the visionary artist behind the evocative musical project SYLVAINE, weaves an intricate tapestry of emotions through the language of music. A transcendental bridge between worlds, a mesmerizing duality that encapsulates the beautiful and the harsh, light and darkness, serenity and chaos, and the delicate balance between the external world and the inner sanctum of the soul. It is a symphony that harmonizes the human experience with its spiritual origins – a resonance of something beyond the tangible.
Sylvaine’s compositions are a visceral journey through the vast spectrum of emotions that the complexities of the human experience have to offer. They encapsulate the inherent struggle of being an entity in this world, yet not entirely of it. Kathrine’s music serves as a conduit for her innermost feelings, a cathartic expression of the eternal longing that resides within the very core of her melodies.
Akin to a fairytale spun from the threads of Norwegian folklore, a narrative that resonates with the spirits of ancient woods and the whispers of long forgotten creatures. With every ethereal note and haunting melody, she conjures images of untamed forests, of misty clearings inhabited by mystical beings. In this artistry, there is an undeniable sense of transcendence, where listeners are transported beyond the confines of the ordinary into a dreamscape where reality and fantasy converge. A profound sense of wonder and allure creates a unique musical alchemy – with a touch of enchantment that lingers long after the music has ceased.
With four albums and one split-EP released to date, Sylvaine’s ethereal soundscapes have been taken to stages across Europe, North America and South America, leaving audiences mesmerized by the transcendent power of the band’s live performances. Two of these albums have been nominated for the Norwegian Grammy Awards Spellemannprisen in the category of metal. The ability to transport listeners to otherworldly realm through her music is a manifestation of the artistry & profound impact the band can bring.
As Sylvaine prepares to unveil her upcoming EP, Eg Er Framand, she embarks on a deeply introspective and serene journey through the rich tapestry of Norwegian heritage and tradition. Folk tales of old are brought to life in this new chapter of her musical odyssey, offering a glimpse into the depths of her creative spirit and an exploration of the roots that anchor her artistry. A reflection of myths is embraced through exquisite sonic realms.
