MARK DALY Releases Official Music Video for Latest Single ‘I Wanna Be More’

Mark Daly has released the music video for his single, “I Wanna Be More.” The infectious song is the debut track from Daly’s upcoming album Devil’s Arms – due for release this spring via One Opportunity Records – and was a crowd favorite on his recent tour as direct support for the rock supergroup Mr. Big. The video was directed by Tom Flynn.

“In the ‘I Wanna Be More’ video we wanted to capture the high energy we bring to this song when we play it live. We shot the video on Long Island, New York. It was directed by the incredibly talented Tom Flynn. Tom translated our energy to video perfectly. When you combine a big empty room with a full-band set-up, a couple of beers, a smoke machine, and a projector with some cool effects, you get the perfect performance music video. We can’t wait for everyone to see the results!” says Daly of the video.

He continues, “’I Wanna Be More’ is an incredibly important song to me, and its release comes at the perfect time. My songwriting has matured a lot over the last few years – I’ve tapped into a much more honest approach, I’m writing from the heart, and I think the raw emotion that so many people can relate to is even more pronounced. This is the first song we’re releasing that was recorded with Brian Virtue, and it takes everything we’ve done before to the next level. To be able to preview it on the road with Mr. Big was a remarkable experience, and being able to release it to the world is even more surreal. I couldn’t be prouder of this song, and everything it represents.”

Devil’s Arms is produced by Brian Virtue, best known for his work with Audioslave, Jane’s Addiction, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Deftones, and includes a duet with Dead Sara frontwoman Emily Armstrong.

Devil’s Arms is the follow-up to the maxi-single Drop Dead, which came on the heels of his debut solo EP Nothing to Lose. Daly’s music is gritty, raw and energetic. His post-grunge and classic rock influences combine to create his dynamic signature modern-rock sound.

Mark Daly launched a three-week U.S. tour in January as direct support of Mr. Big. The Irish rocker supported the band throughout the Midwest and Northeast, while also headlining his own shows, including a marquee performance on February 8, at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Daly is no newcomer to American soil, having completed numerous domestic tours with heavyweights including Candlebox, Queensrÿche, and Queensrÿche’s former frontman, Geoff Tate. His current run kicked off Thursday, January 25, with a headlining show at Belle and the Bear, in Cincinnati, OH, and is highlighted by his West Point show, and a New York City performance with Mr. Big on February 6 at Sony Hall.

“As a rock musician from Ireland, it feels surreal to me to be on another incredible tour in the USA,” says Daly. “It blows my mind that I am not only the special guest of a band I grew up listening to – Mr. Big – but we also have our own headline shows in America for the first time. This really is a dream come true.”

Mark was first discovered while performing in his band The Voodoos in Spain. During one of their shows, music manager Brian Message (Radiohead, Nick Cave) was in the crowd and requested that Mark play some original songs. Brian decided to bring the band to London to record their first EP. It was in this defining moment that Mark decided to become a full-time musician and never looked back.

One early highlight in Mark’s career was performing at the MTV EMA Awards with The Voodoos after beating out 10,000+ bands from Europe for the slot. From there, Mark and the band began to tour throughout Europe and the USA. Mark’s first venture as a solo artist hit N0. 1 on the Scottish New Music Charts. Inspired by his son, Noah, the track “Your World” was written for an autism awareness charity.

“I absolutely love everything about being on the road – meeting so many incredible people each night, getting lost in the music on stage. It’s pure magic,” says Daly.

The dominion of death metal is about to tremble once again. Severe Torture are back with another murderous masterpiece.

Torn from the Jaws of Death comes out June 7 on Season of Mist. Today, the brutal Dutch masters are announcing their new album with its breathstealing lead single, “The Death of Everything”.

Watch the frantic video for “The Death of Everything”:

On “The Death of Everything”, Severe Torture forebode all the gory details of their upcoming sixth album. Torn from the Jaws of Death comes extracted from the hellish depths of Torture Compound Studios, where it was sharpened by the tormented production team of Damiën Kerpentier and Mendel bij de Leij.

The band flash an array of rusty torture devices on their new single. The drums are surgical in their pinging and pounding. Whether they’re slicing or dicing, the riffs could grind through bone. Lyrically, the song warns that death comes for all of us, no matter their perceived place in heaven. “They preach their gospel, but the darkness has the upper hand”, Dennis Scheurs growls, as if devouring all hope.

“We are very proud to share the first single of our upcoming sixth album, Torn from the Jaws of Death“, says Severe Torture. “‘The Death of Everything’ was the last song we wrote for the album and turned out to be the opening track. It’s an aggressive whirlwind of riffs that’ll take you on a brutal journey and leave you gasping for air after 4 minutes.”

For over 25 years, SEVERE TORTURE has embodied the ethos of Brutal. Death. Metal. A genre-defining titan, they’ve held a commanding presence in the metal universe since 1997, blending intense performances with a relentless commitment to their visceral, raw sound.

Born from the bowels of the Dutch underground, the band emerged onto the world stage with their debut album Feasting On Blood, hailed as an epic watershed in the nascent wave of brutal death metal in 2001. Their hard-hitting, merciless sound has since rippled across North and South America, Europe, and Mexico; their trail marked by five ground-breaking releases over the past quarter-century.

Remaining relevant in the ever-evolving realm of metal is no small feat, a task Severe Torture met by continuously leveling up. In pursuit of rejuvenation and to capture the aggression and energy befitting of a new era, they amicably parted ways with original drummer Seth in 2018, bringing Damiën Kerpentier into the fold. The move signified a new chapter for the seasoned ensemble, marking a seismic shift that breathed fresh air into their creative process, leading to some of their darkest, most profound work yet.

This invigorated spirit came to life in 2022 with the release of the EP Fisting The Sockets – the band’s first release in an astounding 12 years. The record served as a triumphant herald for their resurgence, re-signing with Season of Mist and rekindling the flame of their brutal origins amidst a pandemic-stricken world.

Now, in 2024, Severe Torture is set to escalate to new heights of sonic savagery with their sixth full-length album, Torn from the Jaws of Death. Recorded at the infamous Torture Compound Studios, the album stands as a testament to the raw energy, blood, sweat, and relentless brutality that the band represents.

From the aggressive whirlwind of riffs in The Death of Everything, to the haunting black metal nuances of the title track Torn from the Jaws of Death, the album is a death metal cogitation on murder, torture, and the madness of organized religions. Crafted with an unwavering commitment to the genre, Torn from the Jaws of Death is a grim reflection of the world, drenched in the band’s signature brutal death metal sound.

As the anticipation mounts for the release of Torn from the Jaws of Death, you can be sure Severe Torture remains alive and thriving in the heart of brutal death metal, pushing boundaries, and refusing to bow to conventions. A quarter-century in, these stalwarts of the scene are just getting started. Stay tuned to witness their relentless progression as they continue their incessant march through the annals of metal history.

Wormholedeath Records is excited to announce that the US heavy metal sensation, Floodfall, has joined forces with the label. This partnership will see the reissue of their album “Unbroken”, scheduled for re-release on April 19, 2024.

Floodfall, formed in Bozeman, Montana, initially included David Hearst, Jake Schreuder, and drummer Hunter Hessian. They recorded their debut album in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Jakob Herrmann. After some changes, David, now in Portland, Oregon, teamed up with Zane Hearst on drums to record their second album, “Unbroken”, in both Portland and Gothenburg. Floodfall’s music, characterized by vocal harmony and structured songwriting, draws from various styles of heavy music. “Unbroken”: An Ode to the Human Spirit

“Unbroken” is about the ebb and flow of human existence. It was recorded over many months and miles, demonstrating the perseverance and positive energy that can be found in times of great difficulty. The songs celebrate the close-knit relationships formed between the band and its creative collaborators as they navigated life before, during, and after the shock of a worldwide pandemic. Driving, hard-hitting, and heavy with melodic, memorable hooks. Inspired and influenced by Queen, Eclipse, Charon, and Billy Talent.

Swedish LEACH Release Final Album Single + Lyric Video ‘Slice Of Life’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 13, 2024
Posted in: Int. News. Tagged: LEACH. Leave a comment

The northern parts of Europe are living on their own – sometimes weird, when seen from the outsider’s perspective – cycle of light and dark. And this is particularly true for the Scandinavian people.
Torn between the never setting sun on one hand and the demons of a seemingly endless darkness on the other, it’s no wonder that they could develop the plethora of myths, legends, and fairy tales that they are known for. It’s a rich heritage that didn’t die with the advent of electricity and the lightbulb either, as a legion of electric guitars, belligerent drums and captivating voices or, briefly put, heavy metal has kept it, rekindled it, and also drawn from it.

One result of all that is the incredible Scandi sense for coming up with all sorts of hymns, no matter the actual genre.

And just as the creations of mythology have been for many centuries, metal is here to heal, to drive our demons out, and make us forget all about them for a moment. “Wanna shake off what’s eating away at you today? Be our guest,” says Swedish mosh battalion LEACH: “Come on, cut through your darkness and unpack that precious Slice Of Life!”

Slice Of Life for your personal playlist: https://orcd.co/sliceoflife

See? That wasn’t so bad was it? It should be gone now, that nerve-wracking itch in the rear of your head. That sense of unfulfillment, of missing out on something without ever catching a glimpse of what that might actually be. Should it ever come back, you’re not alone with this, mind you: “I hate that feeling, it’s like having a shadow that’s cast by a light you never see”, LEACH singer and guitarist Markus tries to grasp it, when he talks about the meaning behind the band’s brand new lyric video and single Slice Of Life. “But that’s nothing that a punkish, straight-forward four-beat-rock blended with an overall metal crush couldn’t heal, right?” – Right! Now back to it, and sing along this time!

Slice Of Life is the third and final single from LEACH’s fourth album New Model Of Disbelief, which will be released digitally and as CD and LP on April 19, 2024. Christian Silver at Studiomega (Sepultura, Kreator, Soilwork), who already took great care of the band’s previous record Lovely Light of Life, acted as the driving force in terms of recording, mixing and mastering once again.

Make sure to pre-save the new record here: https://orcd.co/leach and don’t forget to toss the latest singles Gone To Waste (https://orcd.co/gonetowaste) and All Rise (https://orcd.co/leachallrise) on the playlist(s) of your choice.

About LEACH

AlbumcoverWith three full length releases and one EP already under their belts, the Swedish Death’N’Rollers have certainly established LEACH in the Scandi music scene. They’ve redefined the internationally cherished Swedish sound by merging elements of the iconic Gothenburg scene with that special aggressiveness of northern hardcore, while mixing in a good measure of old-school Stockholm death. Defining attributes of their work are electrifying and exciting smash songs with groovy twists – picture a blood-thirsty, melody-hungry bastard child of Entombed and Exodus, two of the band’s biggest, long-lasting influences.

This gang – Markus Wikander on vocals and guitars, Robert Karlsson on guitars, Anders Nordlander (as well as his successor Tobias Oja) on bass and Joachim Dahlström on drums – knows exactly how to work their blend of styles, and many of the most relevant playlist editors around the world have proven them right numerous times over the years. The vocals bite, the riffs burst to mosh and the melodies open up to passionate, huge life questions. The tense thematic run between revolution, social injustice and inner struggles in the band’s lyrics offers a superbly dynamic pressure vent for piled up emotions of all sorts.

And the Swedes aren’t a slouch in the touring department either: Through their wide-ranging live history, LEACH have shared the stage with prominent bands, such as Unearth, Misery Index, Belphegor and Kampfar. Over the recent years, this caused the gathering of an enthusiastic following around the band, as they describe by example of a typical LEACH live experience: “Over the top energy – the crowd can feel that we give it all and give us energy back.” Touring preparations for 2024 have long begun and first Swedish shows as well as a few festival gigs have already been booked.
