White Metal Trailblazers WHITECROSS Return with New Album “Fear No Evil”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 29, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: WHITECROSS. Leave a comment

One of the first-ever Christian hard rock/metal bands is the Illinois-based, WHITECROSS. The band started in the early ‘80s, touring steadily from 1988 to 1994 and averaging 150 performances per year. The Dove Awards recognized Whitecross three times: twice for Metal Album of the Year, and once for Hard Music Recorded Song of the Year. In the process, Whitecross helped forge the style now widely known as “white metal.”

Now the band – singer Dave Roberts, guitarist Rex Carroll, bassist Benny Ramos, and drummer Michael Feighan – is back with a brand new album. Produced by Rex Carroll, “Fear No Evil” arrives on March 22nd via Dark Star Records and can be pre-ordered here: https://www.integralmerchservices.com/whitecrosspre-order

“‘Fear No Evil’ is the first studio album that Rex has had total artistic control of from beginning to end, including the writing, recording, mixing, mastering, and release,” explains the album’s Executive Producer, Susan Smith. “Every previous album has at least one song that Rex would have done differently. Rex never relinquished the right to include a guitar solo and finds it a personal challenge to match the success of ‘Nagasake.’ This album has grown with the influence of Dave Roberts, and while keeping the original heavy rock and roll heart and soul of the first release, adds a nuanced nod to classic bands of the ‘60s and ‘70s.”

Concerning standout tunes from the album, all four members have their particular selections but seem to agree on the beautifully orchestrated power ballad “Wishing Well,” which invokes The Beatles and The Moody Blues. The acoustic ballad entitled “Blind Man” has a “Led Zeppelin feel,” according to Feighan, and of course, there are the expected rockin’ tunes in the Whitecross tradition. One of these is the album’s first video – the title track – debuted on a three-song demo of Rex and Dave getting a feel for the project. Feighan also adds a disclaimer: “This album is very diverse with songs that have a modern rock touch but still that Whitecross sound that fans know and love.”

And with the band about to hit the road in support of the album, Carroll never forgets how important the band’s fans are in the grand scheme of things. “I am continuously reminded every day that it’s not about me or the band – it’s all about the fans. Many of you have become my good friends via social media, and I’m continuously grateful for your support. You bought the albums and the T-shirts and came to the shows, and I’m grateful for that. Thanks again…follow Jesus!”

As far as how Whitecross’s brand of metal fits in with modern-day acts, the guitarist also shared his thoughts. “I follow the muse in my own head. I hear new sounds on the radio, but the songs are still the same as they always were. And by that, I mean new bands pop up on the radio – the sounds are fresh, but it’s the same three chords and it’s the same boy-meets-girl lyrics. Modern sounds and modern production techniques are great, and we have taken full advantage of them on our new album. From a technical standpoint, I believe ‘Fear No Evil’ is the BEST album I’ve ever been involved with. Love the songs, still pushing myself on the guitar, love the sonic blast from Anthony Focx, love the fans, love my band, love all of it.”

And lastly, what are the band’s future plans? “Continue to love God, love people, love the band, love the gigs, love to shred until they lay me in the ground in a guitar-shaped casket.”

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Drummer Jeff Fabb to Release New Single ‘See No Evil’ on March 8th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 29, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Jeff Fabb. Leave a comment

Jeff Fabb has made his name in ground-breaking heavy metal bands such as Black Label Society, , In This Moment, Sixx:A.M., and Filter, Jeff decided to pioneer his own sound with his debut album released in November of last year with  “Stealing Souls”, which held his first radio single “You’re Complete.”

Jeff released another new single in February of this year called “Hell in the Hallway” which is currently being played on radio stations such as 94.3 The Shark, 90.1 WUSB. HITH is also currently being added to Spotify playlists.

Jeff’s next single “See No Evil” is a refreshingly upbeat and infectious tune that highlights Fabb’s artistry in a whole new way and will be on March 8th.

“See No Evil” means sometimes it can feel like no one wants to help you, everyone is passing you by. It feels like you’ll never finish what you’ve started…, but sometimes slow and steady will get you where you wanna be.”  –Jeff Fabb

“See No Evil” combines the best of Jeff Fabb – his booming vocals, poetic lyrics, a catchy melody, and of course, his masterfully powerful and precise drumming. This track is an example of what Fabb is truly capable of, and showcases many of his varied artistic influences, such as Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Led Zeppelin. Fabb’s true genius is in his ability to layer textures reminiscent of the styles of great artists of the past, while incorporating modern touches and his own unique flair.

Pre-save “See No Evil” here.

About Jeff Fabb

Highly respected drummer and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Fabb found his path in heavy metal and hard rock scenes, with his “claim to fame” in drumming for iconic rock bands such as In This Moment, Filter, and Sixx AM, and Black Label Society.

Starting his drumming career at the ripe age of 11, Jeff Fabb has a long history of music that’s followed him throughout his whole life. Beginning his journey growing up in Long Island, Fabb played in various bands throughout high school and eventually formed the band Tripface.

After spending much of his early career on the East Coast, Fabb moved to L.A. in 1998, to dive head-first into the music scene of Silver Lake. From there, he contributed to many esteemed bands in the rock and metal circles, always known for shaping the sound of each group he is a part of with his masterful drumming techniques.

COVID was a big catalyst for wanting to pursue his solo project, and he worked tirelessly to release his heavily anticipated solo album “Stealing Souls” in 2023. His debut album is highly regarded for combining a booming voice with slamming guitar and drums to create an album full of textures such as hard rock, rock, metal, grunge, and alternative rock. With slower tracks like “As the Wind Blows”, Fabb tunes into his more classic influences, and tunes into his harder rock influences with “Reaper”.

With influences ranging from Alice In Chains, Mad Season, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, and Tool, to Led Zeppelin, Fabb creates a unique sound reminiscent of many great names in rock, while adding his own unique flair to everything he creates.

His diverse musical capabilities have allowed him to succeed in the rock and metal communities, making him a highly respected, and multi-faceted artist.

SEIGMEN Release Opening Track ‘Elskhat’ from Upcoming Album

On February 28th, the third single “Elskhat.” from SEIGMEN’s upcoming album “Resonans” was released!

“Elskhat” is the opening track on the album “Resonans”, and also the first one written back in the summer of 2015. At that time, their previous album “Enola” had just been released, and touring and big festivals were on the horizon.

The search for that magical riff was a constant pursuit. The guitar riff that forms the foundation of “Elskhat” was revealed outside the rehearsal space, played on a deep red semi-acoustic Gibson. The reception was good, so much so that the band realized this riff was the gateway to Seigmen’s next album. Little did they know it would take nine years before the song could be presented in its entirety.

“Elskhat” narrates the constant oscillation between extremes and has its roots in songwriter and lyricist Kim Ljung’s state of constant migraines. The contrast between light and dark is always close, akin to black and white, day and night. “Elskhat” leaves no middle ground.

“If you tremble, then I tremble too.”

Listen to the single here: https://orcd.co/elskhat

Author and screenwriter Harald Rosenløw Eeg, a close friend of Kim and the band, was working on the script for his second disaster film for Fantefilm at that time. Earthquakes was the theme. Kim suggested “Skjelvet” (The Quake) as the title and expressed interest in writing a song for the film. It remained an attempt. Time and timing had different plans.

In 2018, Seigmen borrowed a house near Karlsvik gård, a picturesque gem near the shoreline outside Tønsberg in Norway. Every room in the house was set up for recording and brainstorming ideas for the album.

“Elskhat” underwent a significant transformation here, moving from the key of D to G. For the uninitiated, it was quite an un-Seigmen-like move, but it turned out to be a revelation. “Elskhat” gained the lift, the air, and light it needed.

In a pure bootleg style, the intense and creative days in the house were dubbed the “Karlsvika Tapes.” Everything was just sketches, sounding raw and unfinished. Yet, it undoubtedly gave the band a boost, shaping the form of “Resonans.”

The band then returned to the rehearsal space, fine-tuning their aim for the final push before recording at Velvet Recording in Spydeberg in Norway. They were back to the familiar setting and the same studio where they recorded “Total” in 1994—the time many believe Seigmen truly found their identity. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred. The pandemic and illness stood in the way of continuation, putting “Resonans” on hold.

The challenges that followed have added a new dimension to “Elskhat,” with meaning that might not have been there initially but will resonate with those who experienced a difficult time during the pandemic.

Seigmen faced their share of setbacks, but the extended delay also provided extra time to refine the songs that make up “Resonans.” The lyrics of “Elskhat” have proven almost prophetic for Seigmen—after the rain comes sunshine, and after a challenging period, it is an ultra-positive and inspired band getting ready to release their first album in nine years.

“Elskhat” is also the first song from “Resonans” mixed by Mike Hartung (Propeller), setting the standard for the rest of the songs and defining the album’s sound. Like the rest of the album, the single was recorded at Velvet Recording with Christer Krogh as the technician. The single cover was designed by Sigurd N. Kristiansen, featuring an alternative prophecy created by Kim’s daughter, Nova.

SIX STRING REVOLVER Release Hard Rocking New Single ‘Thursday’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 29, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SIX STRING REVOLVER. Leave a comment

Six String Revolver is an American Hard Rock band based out of the red mountains of Hurricane Utah, with a mission to bring original Rock music back into fashion. The band is a musical montage of some of the best players in the Southern Utah music scene. This local Super Group features on lead vocals Raven Cain, who has been on major recording labels such as Universal Music Group and is the subject of books, T.V. shows, and educational films. He has had multiple songs go to #1 on the 365 music charts. He has been a touring musician and has opened up for world-famous acts such as Henry Rollins, LA Guns, Sevendust, Bullet Boys, and Ratt, to name but a few.

On Lead Guitar is Hawkeye Pearce, a well-known musician, and virtuoso known for his technical playing, inspiring solos, and dynamic stage presence. Hawkeye is a veteran musician opening for iconic bands such as Alice Cooper, Great White, Sammy Hagar, Rick Derringer, Trixter, Nazareth, and Alabama. Hawkeye walked the red carpet at the famed VRMA’s with his band, who was nominated as the best entertainers in Las Vegas. According to Raven, Hawkeye is one of the greatest guitarists he has ever had the privilege of sharing the stage with.

Another legendary figure in the local music scene is Bassist Chuck Triplett, known for his solid melodic bass lines and hypnotic stage performance. Chuck has had the opportunity to open for notable acts such as Trapted, Royal Bliss, Aura Surreal, Count 77, American Hitmen, and many others in his illustrious career. It is widely known that anyone who sees Chuck play live gets a special treat; he is not your average boring Bass Player. To say his stage presence is hypnotic is truly an understatement.

On the drums is Mr. Dave Durfee, another local legend. Dave has toured worldwide, including playing drums in the middle of a warzone in Iraq. Among his many accomplishments would include opening for many well-known and famous acts such as Rob Zombie, Black Label Society, Godsmack, Poison, and Korn, to name a small list of the many he has shared the stage with. Dave is the band’s backbone, keeping the grove and often laying down trance-like rhythms that somehow pull together the controlled chaos that is Six String Revolver.

The band initially came together as the brainchild of singer and songwriter Raven Cain and drummer Dave Durfee; after trying several Guitarists that did not vibe with the band, Raven, with Chuck’s suggestion, brought in the talents of their long-time friend and Raven’s former bandmate Hawkeye Pearce. A band only works if the member’s vibe, and what we have with Six String Revolver is a band of long-time friends. The audience can feel the band vibing within the first few notes. The four journeymen musicians comprise the energetic, charismatic, and immensely entertaining Six String Revolver.

“RAVEN CAIN could contribute to the soundtrack to “Sons Of Anarchy” all alone” Björn Backes – Power Metal.DE
“Raven hits home with his lyrics like a pulpit preacher man whippin’ up a storm.” SHAN SIVA – Battle Helm
“One of the only artists to get a major recording contract coming out of Southern Utah” Lee Gilbert – The Desert Pulse
“Those that get the opportunity to hear and see him play will undoubtedly see he leaves nothing for reserve by the time he drags himself off the stage for the night–he puts every ounce of himself into the performance.” George Scott – Independent
