CORNERS OF SANCTUARY to Release New Extended EP “Metal Up” on March 29th

Philadelphia’s Classic Heavy Metal hitmen, Corners of Sanctuary (COS), have announced several upcoming shows in support of the release of their new extended EP, “Metal Up,” on March 29th. Pre-ordering for a limited number of autographed “Metal Up” CDs will be made available on February 20th.

Following this past summer’s cover EP, “Taking Cover” which has spawned two chart hits, a version of The Osmonds’ rock classic, “Crazy Horses,” and a rendition of Warrant’s “Inside Out,” which hit #61 on the World Indie Charts Top 100 in December, along with COS’ recent Holiday single, “Metal Up” marks COS‘ first all-new, original effort in over a year since signing with SODEH Records and releasing 2023’s “This is Metal” EP.

“We’ve had some really interesting things happen to the band in recent months,” says COS guitarist and founder Mick Michaels. “From our end, it’s pretty exciting and we are super grateful that people are digging our cover versions of these great songs.”

“Metal Up” will contain a total of eight songs, two of which are listed as bonus tracks. “Metal Up” will be available via SODEH Records.

The “Metal Up” CD and its first single, “Hunter Prey,” officially release on March 29th. A teaser video for “Hunter Prey,” will be available for streaming February 20th.

“Over the last 12 months, we have been working on a bunch of new songs,” said Michaels. “A lot had happened in those 12 months… we had to focus on things that were in the moment and needed to do what we had to do to keep the band moving forward.”

Corners of Sanctuary have a number of shows lined up, including performances with Spread Eagle, Japan’s Kazha, and former Metal Church vocalist Ronny Munroe, plus, dates being scheduled in Canada this summer among others. See schedule below.

Released today “Vale Sempre La Pena”, the brand new album by the band Nuocere! Nuocere was born in 2015 or thereabouts from an unhealthy idea of singer-guitarist JJ, who after many years of hard core had grown tired of the fast pace and wanted to cuddle a little with melody. At first the lineup was different and so was the name-we were called Dealers. Want the moving of the guitarist/singer to the city of Prato, want other things that we are not here to list, JJ is left alone to aprrode in the most appropriate bassist one could look for, Boso! With Boso begins the search for a drummer, who at first is found but then opts for a young Florentine lad with thirty years of musical experience in more hard rock circles, Marco a.k.a. Maccio, a name affixed to him by JJ’s son.

A beautiful adventure begins with Marco, made of a great friendship that binds us and, fortunately or unfortunately, made of a lot of stage experience and musical construction.

The Nuocere thus start , in 2018, revisiting old pieces and building new ones until we arrive at the birth of our first work.

Is it a stoner record? Who knows…

It is ALWAYS worth the effort, it has to be seen as a delivery. Yes because they more or less tried their best to get through it. But the desire to harm others fortunately did not! About a year ago we entrusted our work to Delio of Saffa666Studio and out came what for us is the encapsulation of our entire musical “career.” Rotten, disturbing sounds (otherwise what the fuck are we called Nuocere for), accompanied by melodic singing (not always) and in Italian. Lyrics are extremely personal and not as they say STRAIGHT TO THE GOAL, but inclined to leave room for the music and more for the fantastia. Let’s call it a journey, that is!

LIE LAND Return with Brand New Single “I.D.G.A.F.”, Out Now

Released today on all the best music stores, on our shop in Japan and on Crashsound Distribution, the new Lie Land label single “I.D.G.A.F. One of the most promising bands on the Italian rock scene is back! Are you ready to have your mind blown by the legendary Lie Land?

Lie Land was born in Quarrata in 2021, under the label Qua’rock Records, with which they released the ep LOVELAND, containing 5 songs that mainly deal with the theme of love, with all its facets.

Over the course of these two years, the band has made various experiences in the studio and on various stages, including prestigious ones, such as the Ariston in Sanremo (2023).
The band writes original (and non-original) songs with pop rock sounds, influenced by various musical genres, ranging from new metal to Italian pop; in fact, the band’s latest published song, as well as its first mother tongue challenge, is a completely rearranged cover of Lucio Battisti and Mogol’s “I giardini di Marzo”.

To date, the band is composed of three members: Marta Giurintano (vocals), Jacopo Scannadinari (guitar) and Melissa Chiti (drums), united by the dream of making a living from music, with all the sacrifices that entails.

The title of the song, the acronym for “I don’t give a fk” (in Italian: non me ne frega un ca … o), encapsulates the very meaning of the song, I.D.G.A.F. is an anthem, a violent chorus to be sung in the face of bigots, those people who would like to lock you in their enclosure of rules, take you with them down into the abyss of their ignorance, to these people you have to shout it in their face, I don’t give a fk!

Formed in 2009, Venrez has been making a name for themselves with their high-energy live performances and powerful music. Italian prog metallers AVELION have announced the release of their new single “Firestone”.

In a world marked by chaos and discord, “Firestone” is an emotional anthem that, like the light of a lighthouse in the coldest darkness, incites us to rediscover our deepest essence, transforming every duality into harmony.
The new single serves as a new preview of what AVELION have been working on for the next album, suggesting a multifaceted nature in the band’s musical approach.

In this regard the band comments:

“While working on the new songs, it was clear right away that our next album would have shown two different souls.
On the one hand there is a more technical and progressive inspiration, with longer tracks and more structured instrumental passages, which you can experience in tracks such as ‘Bound To Blackness’ and ‘Alone In Time’.
‘Firestone’, however, is the first song fully displaying the aforementioned second nature, our most immediate and melodic vein, where Rick’s voice is the epicentre of the composition, with all its emotional nuances.
Therefore the new single doesn’t necessarily indicate a change of style, as other songs currently in the works will embrace both directions. Stay tuned because something huge is coming!”

“Firestone” was produced and mixed by Simone Mularoni and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios. Special thanks to Lorenzo William Biocchi for providing backing vocals in the chorus.

AVELION have developed a gloriously turbulent sound that is uniquely their own. Hailing from Parma, Italy, the band have been tearing venues apart across Europe with their powerful fusion of genres since 2008.
In 2011 AVELION released the first studio work: the EP “Cold Embrace”. The following year the band started an intense live activity, leading to the great opportunity to play as opening act for Seventh Wonder (with Tommy Karevik, Kamelot).
In 2012 the band released the promotional single “Falling Down” which sees the collaboration with guitarist Olaf Thorsen (Labyrinth, Vision Divine)
AVELION‘s second EP, “Liquid Breathing”, was published in 2013. The EP delivers a more personal, modern and mature sound: melodic progressive metal mixed with djent influences, all combined with a strong electronic flavour.
In 2015 the band entered Simone Mularoni’s Domination Studio (DGM) to record their first full length album: “Illusion of Transparency”, which was released via Revalve Records in 2017.
In March 2018 AVELION supported the legendary ANGRA in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Portugal. The dates also featured Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime as special guest.
In May 2018 the band released the single “Echoes and Fragments” REMIX featuring the Electro Metal artist The Algorithm.
Following a widespread approval from both critics and fans, the band kept playing live opening for Primal Fear, Lacuna Coil and Kiko Loureiro.
At the end of 2019 the band parted ways with the frontman William Verderi. Following the split, AVELION started composing new songs for their next musical chapters along with new vocalist Riccardo Rizzardelli. The first single from the revitalised line-up, “Bound to Blackness”, was released in June 2022, followed by the highly acclaimed “Alone in Time” single in October 2023.
