Nuclear Blast Records are proud to announce the signing of Leeds, UK based alternative rock band HIGHER POWER. The quintet were birthed from the effervescent UK hardcore scene, and through blending elements of shoegaze, grunge, punk, thrash and more have managed to establish themselves as a wholly unique prospect in the world of modern heavy music.
To commemorate their signing to the label, the band have released a brilliantly tongue-in-cheek video for their new single ‘Absolute Bloom’. The track is a vibrant, hook-laden anthem that sees their penchant for 90’s alternative music take the fore.
On ‘Absolute Bloom’, vocalist Jimmy Wizard comments “I’m super excited to release this song. It’s really personal to me in this transitional period of my life, about wanting a deeper more meaningful connection to the real world and not quite being equipped to do so, but finding hope and figuring it out. The music reflects that with a song that’s so big and upbeat.”
HIGHER POWER are currently on tour across the US supporting Neck Deep. Catch the band live at one of the remaining dates for your first opportunity to hear ‘Absolute Bloom’ live. The band also have appearances planned at both Northern Unfest and Outbreak Festival this year.

Dark. Cold. Aggressive. BEYOND UNBROKEN‘s latest single “The Madness” along with the release of a deeply intense official music video is a deep dive into the dark recesses of our own mind and the demons we find there. Beyond Unbroken proves beyond their extreme versatility in production whether it be a chilled-out single or over top brutality in this latest single.
“The Madness” portrays a psychological struggle when the mind is in overdrive, succumbing to manic thoughts,” explains Beyond Unbroken. “The music video plays out a war within a dark, decrepit prison—a metaphor echoed through the lyrics “I can’t get out,” describing how the mind can become its own prison.”
Drawing inspiration from everything from horror movies, and life experiences culminated in a music video and single that are a match made in mental hell. The prison effortlessly reflects a brutal metaphor for a one’s own personal prison. The low-tuned breakout guitar riffs, deep synthesizers, infused with orchestral elements serve to heighten the unsettling atmosphere from start to finish. “The Madness” is both versatile and undeniably a powerful message. In their own words, “I want listeners to understand that they’re not alone. We’re here for a short time, and the pain they feel is only temporary, facing and overcoming obstacles is essential and it is what makes us stronger, brighter days are ahead for you. We’re in this together.” Stay tuned as Beyond Unbroken continues to explore the human experience and pushing the boundaries of Metal and Rock. It’s 2024 and this is just a warm up.
In a world of boundaries Beyond Unbroken refuses to be defined by one genre. Founded by former Escape The Fate members, brothers Monte and Michael Money, the band habitually crosses the lines, mixing genres the way an artist mixes paint with results that often defy expectation. They released their first single “Under Your Skin” in 2015 and debuted their first independent EP Don’t Wake The Dead in 2017 with producer Matt Good of From First To Last. The EP was well received with the animated video “Overdose” earning millions of views upon release. Their first debut album, Running Out of Time, followed in 2020 with singles earning millions of streams and premiering on Alt Press. On April 29, 2020, the band covered Lil Peep and Twenty One Pilots mashup, “Falling Down + Heathens” and it remains the band’s most streamed track to this day. In 2021 the band released a one-off single “With Or Without Me” on the FiXT Radium Compilation which eventually led to the band signing with the label in 2023.

Formed in 2013, Mother of All is the brainchild of Martin Haumann, a sought-after hard-working musician in the Danish and international music scene, having performed with artists like Myrkur, Afsky, Timechild, and Mercenary. With a background in The Royal Danish Conservatory and extensive training in different musical disciplines, Martin draws on varied and unusual influences to create a unique vision for Mother of All, but his prime inspiration comes from the deep cauldron of metal. Continuing to explore the art form with Mother of All, Martin creates songs that are diverse and eclectic in nature by incorporating melodic and progressive elements into death metal.
Exploring existential themes in our current age, Mother of All’s debut album, Age of the Solipsist, is a collaborative effort bringing Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Death, Sadus) on bass and newcomer Frederik Jensen on guitars, with Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Triptykon, ex-Obscura, Hate Eternal, Necrophagist) taking care of the mixing, mastering and production duties and Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore, A7X, King Diamond) crafting the cover art. The album, released in 2021 via Black Lion Records, garnered attention and recognition from metal media all over the world.
The sophomore full-length, Global Parasitic Leviathan, marks Mother of All’s first recording with a full lineup, having recently recruited members from acts such as Lamentari, Chaoswave, and Withering Surface. The new lineup has yielded an enthralling sound and direction for the band, ultimately resulting in an album grander in scope both sonically and lyrically.
Mother of All once again unapologetically confronts challenging and contemporary issues on the new album, which thematically revolves around the pervasive turn to corporate and financial tyranny in the Western world. The diverse aspects covered in each song all tie back to this central theme, examining how individuals and nations are controlled and the ideological underpinnings labeled as a “religion” on the album, justifying such domination. The symbolic use of “the Leviathan,” a biblical sea monster that philosophers usually associate with a King or a sovereign ruler legitimated by God, takes on a new meaning on Global Parasitic Leviathan. The Leviathan, replacing the religions of old, now embodies what the band terms “the religion of self-interest.”

This highly anticipated album is the second part of the band’s ongoing ‘Opus Ferox trilogy’ and promises to deliver the same level of intricate modern progressive metal that fans have come to love.
“Opus Ferox II – Mark of the Beast” builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, “Opus Ferox – The Great Escape” (2021), with catchy chorus lines and dynamic songwriting that showcases Loch Vostok‘s signature style. The album is filled with a fantastic implementation of raw energy, presenting strong new songs that are sure to captivate listeners.
To give a taste of what’s to come, Loch Vostok have released the first single “Distant Assistance” along with a brand new music video. This track is a straightforward and uncompromising gem that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Watch the video here:
Sweden’s Loch Vostok were born in the year 2000 out of necessity to create music that did not exist at the time. Refuses to stagnate. Unwilling to die. Combining raw beauty with complexity and finesse. Sometimes uncomfortable but never boring. Harsh and soaring multi layered vocals. Pounding, complex and punishing rhythms Shredalicious solos. Fat choruses and poisonous hooks. Spawned from the fractured mind of Teddy Möller, Loch Vostok is where anything goes. Where cheese meets grind. Where speed meets groove. The unholy child of Emperor and Tears for Fears, the bastard cousin of King Diamond and King’s X. Over the years Loch Vostok has delivered 8 albums, each time bringing something new to the table.
Among the members of Loch Vostok, you will find musicians from a great number of active (and countless inactive) bands. Ranging from Carnal Forge, One Hour Hell and F.K.Ü, to The Murder of My Sweet, and Anima Morte.

The second single, Extinct Indeed, was the last song Juha composed for A Ghost Triangle. It kinda shows the way where Electric Deathbeat is heading musically. Aggressive and versatile metal, Finnish melancholy in its purest form. The story behind the song is based on a dream, where you suddenly woke up at your very own funeral. The person sees the surrounding world from inside his own open tomb but no-one can’t hear nor see him. So nightmare it is rather than just a dream. Juha felt from the beginning that Extinct Indeed will be the last song in the album due its feeling of farewell.
“Toxic Society”, the second album by the Freiburg hardcore/thrashers DRAIN DOWN, will be released on February 29th. As a first foretaste, the album’s opener “Fake Leaders” is now available on YouTube and from Friday, February 9th on all common streaming platforms as a single. Fans of old school thrash with a punk/hardcore edge should definitely get their money’s worth. The final tracklist of the album can be found below.
