SMORRAH Release New Single & Video ‘Age Of Decay’

German Death Thrash Metallers SMORRAH have released their new single ‘Age Of Decay’ with lyric video, taken from the band’s upcoming debut album “Welcome To Your Nightmare”, set to be released on February 23th.

Singer Marius comments:
“If you always just take what’s put in front of you, you’re not really in control. ‘Age Of Decay‘ is a little different from most of our other songs. The track is more melodic and there are socially critical points in the lyrics, for example. Still, it has the typical dark vibe that we usually give our music and fits in easily with the rest of the upcoming album. A concentrated load of thrash riffs – combined with lots of solos and a catchy chorus. A journey through the everyday evil that we ourselves create. A reflection of our society. A reflection of ourselves.”

🎬 ⚙️ GelsenMetalStudios Video Productions

With their debut album “Welcome To Your Nightmare“, SMORRAH release a total of 9 variedly conceived and hellishly powerfully produced songs.

High tension is guaranteed:
“Welcome To Your Nightmare” energetically takes the listener on a gripping journey into the dark abysses of human psychology, leaving you hardly any time to catch your breath – the deliciously tight, bludgeon-from-the-bag quartet really does more than justify the legend surrounding the band’s name!

Tireless headbangers, maniacal Thrashers and hungry Groove heads will all get their money’s worth.

And anyone who has experienced these four likeable, down-to-earth heavyweights from Gelsenkirchen at one of their highly explosive and absolutely sweat-inducing live shows knows that there is only one direction with SMORRAH: Straight ahead!

Metalcore titans UNEARTH proudly present their latest video for “Eradicator,” a standout track from their formidable album, The Wretched; The Ruinous. The video, showcasing the band’s relentless energy and unique artistry, is now available for viewing HERE.

Following the success of The Wretched; The Ruinous, UNEARTH continues to push boundaries, both musically and thematically. The album, lauded for its incisive commentary on global issues, stands as a testament to the band’s ability to blend aggressive sounds with thought-provoking lyrics.

Fans can access the album HERE.

Reflecting on the new video, vocalist Trevor Phipps says, “Since our new album The Wretched; The Ruinous was released ‘Eradicator’ has been posted and reposted more than any other track on the record by you all.  Because of this we hit up our good friend Daniel Vandal from Kreact to shoot another live themed video (Incinerate) for us across the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario.  The footage captures the high energy, and mayhem (Barrie), our Canadian friends always bring to our shows north of the border.  Check out ‘Eradicator’ now and see you on the road.”

The album The Wretched; The Ruinous delves into pressing global concerns, as Phipps explains: “The Wretched; The Ruinous is about the eight billion people on this planet. We’ve created a man-made mass extinction event and have been too slow to correct our faults. Extreme weather, drought, famine, disease, erosion of land, culture wars, civil wars, wars for natural resources, and the displacement of billions of people, is all a current reality. This isn’t a future problem; it is a now problem and I take this record to talk about it.”

The Wretched, The Ruinous Track List:

  1. The Wretched; The Ruinous
  2. Cremation of the Living
  3. Eradicator

  5. Invictus
  6. Call of Existence
  7. Dawn of the Militant
  8. Aniara
  9. Into the Abyss
  10. Broken Arrow
  11. Theaters of War

Critics have hailed The Wretched; The Ruinous as a landmark release in the metalcore genre:

“Worthy of respect for staying the course, but also for smashing harder than ever, UNEARTH have made their best album since 2008’s “The March”. In the absence of anyone else nailing this substrain of metal with such panache, I hereby proclaim them to be the current kings of this shit.” – Blabbermouth

“The Wretched; The Ruinous is a reminder of how exciting metalcore can be when executed with passion and integrity, and that’s welcome in 2023.” – Kerrang

“It’s fun, it’s powerful, it’ll be a blast to pit to and it’s performed with a gusto and self-belief that comes from years of hard work and their deserved place as one of the originators of the scene.” – Distorted Sound

UNEARTH’s new video for “Eradicator” is more than just a musical statement; it’s a visual journey into the heart of what makes them one of metal’s most enduring and relevant acts.

You can catch UNEARTH live at these festivals:

LIE LAND Return with Brand New Single “I.D.G.A.F.”, Out February 16th

Legendary LIE LAND return with a brand new single “I.D.G.A.F.” which will be released, February 16 on all the best music platforms! A really bombshell comeback for the Tuscan band!

The title of the song, the acronym of “I don’t give a f**c” (in Italian: non me ne frega un cazzo), encapsulates the very meaning of the song, I.D.G.A.F. is an anthem, a violent chorus to be sung in the face of bigots, to those people who would like to lock you in their enclosure of rules, take you with them down into the abyss of their ignorance, to these people you have to scream it in their face, I don’t give a fuck!

Lie Land was born in Quarrata in 2021, under the Qua’rock Records label, with which they released the ep LOVELAND, containing 5 songs that mainly deal with the theme of love, with all its facets.
Over the course of these two years, the band has made various experiences in the studio and on various stages, including prestigious ones, such as the Ariston in Sanremo (2023).
The band writes original (and non-original) songs with pop rock sounds, influenced by various musical genres, ranging from new metal to Italian pop; in fact, the band’s latest published song, as well as its first mother tongue challenge, is a completely rearranged cover of Lucio Battisti and Mogol’s “I giardini di Marzo”.
To date, the band is composed of three members: Marta Giurintano (vocals), Jacopo Scannadinari (guitar) and Melissa Chiti (drums), united by the dream of making a living from music, with all the sacrifices that entails.

Critically acclaimed British slide guitarist and singer songwriter Troy Redfern will embark on “Troy Redfern “Invocation” Headline UK Tour” on June 17th. The 11-date UK tour will showcase tracks from Redfern’s forthcoming studio album Invocation, plus songs from his extensive back catalogue. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday February 2nd from  www.troyredfern.com.

The highly anticipated concerts will showcase Redfern’s three-piece band comprising Troy Redfern (guitar, lead vocals), Keira Kenworthy (bass, backing vocals), and Nicky Waters (drums, percussion).

The headline tour follows the release of Troy Redfern’s latest recently singles “The Strange” and “Getaway” which are both taken from Redfern’s highly anticipated new album Invocation. The album is available to pre-order from www.troyredfern.com/shop.

Redfern recently launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for the forthcoming album. In 2023, the enigmatic slide guitarist performed at numerous festivals including Steelhouse, Maid of Stone, Planet Rockstock, and Rawa Blues Festival in Poland where he performed a headline set to a crowd of 7,000.

In addition to being a popular attraction on the festival circuit, Redfern’s UK touring track record reflects a musician who is hardworking and relentless. Over the past two years he has toured the UK with Robert Jon & The Wreck, When Rivers Meet, The Sweet, The Quireboys, DARE, and Philip Sayce.

Following his November 2023 UK tour supporting guitar virtuoso Philip Sayce, Redfern’s forthcoming album Invocation follows hot on the heels of his critically acclaimed 2022 studio album The Wings of Salvation which received rave reviews. Blues Rock Review said, “Redfern balances big-league chops with mad songwriting skills to bring us an action-packed set of blues rock that will blow out your windows.”

No stranger to publicity, promotion and accolades, Troy’s current single “The Strange” recently won Classic Rock’s Tracks of the Week. Said Classic Rock of the song, “Rising blues rocker and slide-guitar star Troy Redfern comes over like a much heavier, filthier Marc Bolan – or a pirate raising hell in a really good rock boozer – all sleazy swagger and Jack Sparrow wardrobe.”

For Redfern’s forthcoming hotly tipped album, Invocation, he wanted to write and record songs that sounded bigger and ballsier than his previous works. “The new songs embrace more of the rockier elements of my writing and playing,” says Redfern. “I’ve also given myself the creative freedom to explore and feel out other styles or aspects of my writing that have not been heard on any of my other albums.”

Continues Redfern, “As an artist, I feel it’s important to keep pushing and striving to refine your art, while staying true to your vision. It is important to know who you are as an artist, and on my recent singles, The Strange and Getaway, and the upcoming album, I think I have finally perfected my own signature sound.”

MIDNIGHT to Release “Hellish Expectations” Full-Length Album on March 8th

Notorious and prolific Cleveland cult, MIDNIGHT, will unleash its sixth full-length, Hellish Expectations, on March 8th via Metal Blade Records.

One-man-army, Athenar, has been churning out an ungodly racket, dropping countless demos, splits, and EPs for over two decades, ultimately slaying the metal/punk underground with his own, highly addictive brand of lust, grime, and sleaze. Filthy, belligerent, and unapologetically obnoxious, MIDNIGHT makes music to start fights to and in 2024 Athenar returns with Hellish Expectations, a ten-track sonic assault of blackened heavy metal nefariousness.

“It’s a knuckle dragger with a fat cutoff,” elaborates Athenar, “Pure testosterone meat. Probably the most concise and straight to the point MIDNIGHT album to date, and all written in a weekend. The album was written on pure reaction upon leaving the studio after listening to raw tracks from the previous album Let There Be Witchery. The final mix of that album was good, but at the time of laying it down in the studio, I didn’t like what I was hearing and demanded a new leviathan of an album to be written that weekend.”

In advance of the official unveiling of Hellish Expectations, MIDNIGHT has dropped the record’s first single, album closer “F.O.A.L.” (AKA “Fuck Off And Live”), alongside an accompanying video.

Watch MIDNIGHT‘s “F.O.A.L.” video at THIS LOCATION.

Proclaims Athenar, “‘Fuck Off And Live’ is an ode to the people who peacefully want to die to escape the realities of life, while they should really live and suffer.“

SOL NEGATE Signs with Wormholedeath for Reissue of “On the Verge of Dreaming Again” Album

Sol Negate, the brainchild of Edoardo Curatolo, proudly announces the collaboration with Wormholedeath for the reissue of the groundbreaking album, “On the Verge of Dreaming Again,” scheduled for release on March 8, 2024.

“We’re honored to join forces with Wormholedeath for releasing our album “On The Verge of Dreaming Again”,” says Edoardo Curatolo, the band’s founder. “Finding a true partner that understands the vision behind what we do and supports our work is paramount to being able to continue to dream and share our music with you, the listener. We look forward to continuing to grow together!”

Sol Negate, a symphonic progressive death metal band formed by Edoardo Curatolo in Seattle, combines classical composition with modern instruments, influenced by progressive rock/metal, classical music, and extreme metal. Their music is both symphonic and heavy, departing from traditional structures, and aiming to create a unique musical experience. In 2023, their debut album “On the Verge of Dreaming Again” challenged the boundaries of progressive death metal, featuring contributions from drummer Sebastian Lanser and vocalist Riley McShane.

“On the Verge of Dreaming Again” is a concept album about death and dreams. It is the journey your mind takes as you die, reliving moments of the life you had flashing through your mind’s eye, and how you experience that fall into death. Each track moves over time, how innocuous experiences can mark and combine, how your perception of events can haunt you, and how one may reflect upon that at the moment of death. It was made to be experienced from front to back, late in the evening, with some headphones… I hope it can provide a personal experience that grows with each listen.

Tracklist
1 Prologue
2 … and All Creation Was a Dream
3 A Mind That Bleeds
4 Waves Into the Darkness
5 Dusk Has Come; Stars Are Forming
6 Come and Embrace Me
7 Dissipate Into Each Other

Edoardo composed, recorded, and produced everything other than drums and vocals; the band worked with Sebastian Lanser (Obsidious, ex-Obscura) for drums, Riley McShane for vocals (Continuum, ex-Allegaeon), and the great Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio for mixing/mastering.
