QWÄLEN Finally Release CD Edition of Acclaimed Debut Album “Unhodan Sinut”

Following the success of their debut “Unohdan sinut”, Finnish black metal punks QWÄLEN are finally about to release a CD edition of the album via Time To Kill Records. Originally released in vinyl and tape format in 2021, the band’s first full-length will be released in an exclusive DVD digipack case format.

“What is left when you lose something dear to you? The world appears as a dark dystopian wasteland, with no one left to offer anything even close to comfort. Self-pity, misanthropy, Satan and abandonment offer new alternatives. Where can one turn his or her gaze to eventually forget and rebuild?

Now I can burn my temple. Destroy everything I created. Draw the plans into its ashes and start anew.”

QWÄLEN released their second album, “Syvä Hiljaisuus”, in March 2023 via Time To Kill Records.

QWÄLEN became what it is in 2017. The band members share a passion for playing music in its various raw manifestations and their band backgrounds include Kürøishi, Nistikko, Dumathoin and Akma among many others. Punk background bleeds into the music connecting QWÄLEN’s interpretation of black metal into how the genre started decades ago. Simplicity, rawness, speed and honesty. These values were present in the beginning and the same values still hold true. Punk background especially shows live as the chaotic energy of hardcore punk clashes with the ritualistic nature of black metal.

Lyrical themes in the first album focused on self-portrayal, dealing with loss, building anew along with finding alternatives in abandonment, misanthropy and Satan. The second album ponders the sheep-like nature of humanity, the inevitability of destruction, the acceptance of being faulted and surrendering to a greater force.

The second album was recorded at Waiting Room recording studio in Tampere with Mikael Neves who has worked with the likes of Death Toll 80k and Tryer. Mikael also handled mixing duties. Mastering was done by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. The new album reflects QWÄLEN’s vision and world more clearly than ever. Like a dirty knife. Painful and infectious.

LOKHEIRA Sign with Wormholedeath, Debut Album “Dark of the Night” Out February 23rd

Wormholedeath is thrilled to announce that the power/heavy metal band Lokheira has signed a deal with the label for their debut album “Dark of the Night”, which is set to release on February 23, 2024. The album is a culmination of the band’s hard work and dedication, and we are excited to share it with the world.

The roots of Lokheira’s album stretch back to a late-night epiphany by lead vocalist Irene Mavroudis Ramaglino. She dreamed up the title track, “In The Dark of The Night,” and, driven by its haunting melody, penned its lyrics in the wee hours. Collaborating with her husband, Rob Ramaglino, and his brother, Josh Ramaglino, who delivers a killer guitar solo, Lokheira brought this anthem to life. George Mavroudis, Irene’s brother and bass extraordinaire, lent his touch by crafting the album around the theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.

“Dark of The Night” is a musical fusion, weaving a tapestry of diverse musical influences from bands like Orbit Culture, Machine Head, Sons of Texas, Unleash The Archers, Evanescence, Sunburst, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Pantera. Rob Ramaglino’s groove, Irene’s symphonic virtuosity, and George’s foundational bass mastery converge to carve a sonic landscape that defies conventions.

The genesis of Lokheira dates back to 2022, born from a collective vision of passionate musicians who meticulously craft and cultivate their sonic identity:

George Mavroudis: A luminary in bass and guitar, George’s musical prowess extends to the realm of music theory and the craft of musical electronics. Drawing inspiration from legends like Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Pantera, his sonic journey resonates across multiple musical projects.

Irene Mavroudis Ramaglino: A born performer, Irene’s musical journey started on stage at an early age, culminating in triumphant victories, including a prestigious singing competition at 18. Her eclectic influences, spanning Unleash The Archers, Within Temptation, and Evanescence, imbue Lokheira’s vocal realm with fervor and depth.

Rob Ramaglino: A multi-instrumentalist virtuoso, Rob’s expertise spans guitars, drums, and the artistry of mixing and mastering Lokheira’s evocative melodies. His musical metamorphosis, from percussive beats to resonant strings, echoes his unwavering allegiance to the metal ethos.

All of these styles melded together and created “Dark of The Night”, a unique and captivating album that is sure to leave a lasting impression on listeners.

LILLA VENEDA Release Visionary Video ‘Biomechanic Algorithm’ from Upcoming Album

Lilla Veneda was initiated and founded in 2009 in Wrocław (Poland) by Virian.

Band took the name from one of the most famous Polish romantic tragedies – Lilla Weneda written by Juliusz Slowacki.

Virian said: “We were looking for the name that will be unique but also adequate the musical atmospehere. Lilla Weneda is dark tragedy immersed in the pagan period of time (pre-Polish). It reminds the best tragedies written by William Shakespeare but with the slavic background.“

Lower Silesian band is currently preparing for the premiere of new studio album titled “Primordial Movements“. Once again band used the services of Przemysław Nowak from Impressive-Art Studio (Asgaard, Odraza, Outre). The album’s premiere is scheduled on February 29, 2024. Virian about lyrics and new album: “The core of the lyrics since the demo, then continue on the debut album is a riddle of existence. It’s a mixed of a science, philosophy and poetry. On the newest LP we try to present the lates discovers from the science and philosophical trends to explain who as humans we are, where the world comes from and where as a civilisation we are going. Probably it’s not hard to understand it but to accept it. Hence we don’t want to lie to ourselves but try to be as curious and rational as possible. Of course the rule of the science is to constantly questioning what we already know to make a progress. 

That is in our DNA so be sure that musically and lyrically we always be a little different but it’s a natural evolution instead of revolution but never say never…“

STORMHUNTER to Release “Best Before: Death” Album on March 21st

The new album from the southern German heavy metallers STORMHUNTER “Best Before: Death” will be released on March 21st! The longplayer was recorded and produced at Iguana Studios under the direction of Christoph Brandes, while Timon Kokott provided the artwork.

The first look at the cover is enclosed. “Best Before: Death” is described by the band as their “most personal album” to date, as various experiences from the band’s environment have been incorporated into the work. The 11 new tracks (incl. two instrumentals) with sophisticated guitar work and a variety of melodies should satisfy every fan of classic “German Heavy Metal”.
