‘Skies’, the hard-hitting title track of the album is an important song for Andry and close to her heart: “Skies is about empowerment and rising through the ashes of a nuclear war having many allegories of female abuse and my personal life. The artwork of the album is inspired by the space and how it might look in the future. Since you can’t live in the past it is consoling to dream about the future and about the changes it will bring.”

With the imminent release of her album, Andry has put a kick-ass live band together to take her music to live stages across Europe and beyond. Her tour will start in January with shows in the Benelux.

More about ANDRY

“The missing link between Ronnie James Dio and Christina Aguilera”. That’s how Athens born ANDRY LAGIOU describes herself as a vocalist. A former runner-up on The Voice of Greece and frontwoman of The Harps, she has decided to embark on a solo career and will be just ANDRY.

Being a well-known name on the international metal scene, her highly anticipated debut album ‘Skies’ will be released on February 16 2024 through Baby Mistress Records.

Andry is much more than just a singer… songwriter, guitar player, feminist. She first appeared on the scene in 2013, when she founded her band The Harps but it was in 2017 when she took Greece by storm after winning a blind audition on The Voice, covering a spectacular version of Deep Purple’s ‘Burn’. The video garnered more than one million views on YouTube (see below). After finishing as the runner-up at The Voice of Greece, Andry released the album ‘Love Strikes Doves’ with the Harps and was featured as guest vocalist on several albums, including The Vivaldi Metal Project and prog metal act Pyramid, where she duetted with Tim Ripper Owens on the smash song ‘Stygma’.

By 2022 Andry decided to take fate in her own hand and wrote and recorded her first solo-album ‘Skies’. Mixed by sound wizard Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Winery Dogs, Steel Panther), the album features contributions from Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, Winery Dogs, David Lee Roth), Mike Lepond (Symphony X), Russell Gilbrook (Uriah Heep) and Stephen Platt (Devin Townsend). Most of all, ‘Skies’ contains the amazing vocal and songwriting talents of Andry, a strong and confident woman who has taken control of her own career… and life: “One choses her own destiny. Are you a slave to your emotions or your goals? Life is like a jungle, you eat or you’ll be eaten.”

With the imminent release of her album, Andry has put a kick-ass live band together to take her music to live stages across Europe and beyond. Her tour will start in January with shows in the Benelux.

CALIGULA´S HORSE Release Emotive Video for Third Single ‘The Stormchaser’ from Upcoming Album

Two weeks before the release of their most anticipated 6th studio album Charcoal Grace, Australian progressive metal band Caligula’s Horse release 3rd track The Stormchaser of upcoming album Charcoal Grace.

Pre-Order Charcoal Grace here: https://caligulashorse.lnk.to/CharcoalGrace-Bio

The Stormchaser comes with a thrilling music video that tells a moving story that underlines the emotional facetted of the song. Lead guitarist Sam Vallen says about the new track:

“The Stormchaser is about the divide we all saw through the pandemic. How, rather than banding together to overcome the challenge of those years, many chose to serve themselves at the expense of their community and their society. Watching this, as we all did, was a humbling and infuriating experience, and it has lingered in all of us. Musically, The Stormchaser is quite different from those we’ve revealed so far from Charcoal Grace, emphasising space, dynamics, and timbre with a particular focus on the emotional range of Jim Grey’s vocal.”

In November 2023, Caligula’s Horse released the first single Golem, which served as the first glimpse of the thematical depth of Charcoal Grace and came with a well-received music video. In December, the band followed up with their second single The World Breathes With Me, which is the 10-minute opening track of Charcoal Grace. Watch the video for Golem here: https://youtu.be/pPWqa1LJdrU and Stream The World Breathes With Me on your favorite DSP’s here: https://ffm.to/twbwm

Charcoal Grace is the 6th studio album of the band, and it combines raw rock power with immense emotional depth. Charcoal Grace is borne of the static hopelessness that the pandemic forced upon the band and, indeed, much of the world, these past few years. It is an album reckoning with the experiences and outcomes of this time geared, ultimately, towards catharsis – moving towards a more hopeful future.

Charcoal Grace is available as Ltd. CD Digipak, CD Jewelcase (US only), Gatefold 2LP in various colours & Digital Album. Pre-Order Charcoal Grace here: https://caligulashorse.lnk.to/CharcoalGrace-Bio

The band recently announced their Charcoal Grace North America Tour 2024 with special guests Earthside as well as three live dates in April for the Australian East Cost Tour with Wheel.

WHOM GODS DESTROY, the formidable new progressive metal group formed by keyboardist Derek Sherinian, guitarist Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, and vocalist Dino Jelusick, along with the potent rhythm section of bassist Yas Nomura and drummer Bruno Valverde, are pleased to announce their debut album “Insanium”, to be released on March 15th, 2024 worldwide via InsideOutMusic.

As first appetizer for “Insanium”, Whom Gods Destroy are launching the first single and opening track off their upcoming debut album today. Check out the dynamic track “In The Name Of War” in a video directed by Vicente Cordero / Industrialism Films and edited by Vojan Koceić / PILOTstudio here:

Whom Gods Destroy guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal commented about “In The Name Of War” as follows: “Derek, Dino and I began writing this song in 2020, it was the first song we wrote together. This song captures a lot of what the band is about, it’s a good example of what to expect from the album. The song gets pretty intense when the band kicks in, an unexpected contrast, the music tells the story alongside the lyrics – the Eastern scale melody in the chorus followed by the ‘war drum’ pattern, the bridge feeling like it’s heading toward something, an urgency…”

Here is the complete tracklisting for the upcoming album, which comes with artwork by Nello Dell’Omo.

Swedish LEACH Release Brand New Video Single ‘Gone To Waste’ + Announce Upcoming Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 15, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LEACH. Leave a comment

Scandinavian power quartet LEACH is closing in for a kill with a masterpiece of – quite literally – punching thrash/death’n’roll. As a first harbinger of the upcoming album New Model Of Disbelief, the band has just delivered their brand new video single Gone To Waste. Kicking it off with a crushing main riff and frantically aggressive vocals by singer/guitarist Markus Wikander, the single manages to move on to its rich, touching chorus in an almost seamless fashion.

However, the truly unexpected star of this blood fest is a very old-school melodic metal epilogue that can easily get you to indulge in awesome flashbacks – if you’ve been a metalhead for a while. LEACH themselves describe this piece of northern perfection in much simpler words: “A good sum up of what we’re all about. Fast ‘in your face’ stuff blended with rock’n’roll grooves and melodies.”
The visuals presented in the music video are perfectly set to underline this ceremony of opposites: from the band’s sweaty, hard rockin’ performance amidst the eerie atmosphere of a midnight parking lot to the refined elegance of female movement looking for the perfect swing in a blood-soaked fight club setting, as presented by Swedish pro wrestlers Betty Rose and Sixt. Get a taste of the new video single Gone To Waste here:

With three full length releases and one EP already under their belts, the guys have certainly established LEACH in the Scandi music scene. They’ve redefined the internationally cherished Swedish sound by merging elements of the iconic Gothenburg scene with that special aggressiveness of northern hardcore, while mixing in a good measure of old-school Stockholm death. Defining attributes of their work are electrifying and exciting smash songs with groovy twists – picture a blood-thirsty, melody-hungry bastard child of Entombed and Exodus, two of the band’s biggest, long-lasting influences.

This gang – Markus Wikander on vocals and guitars, Robert Karlsson on guitars, Anders Nordlander (as well as his successor Tobias Oja) on bass and Joachim Dahlström on drums – knows exactly how to work their blend of styles, and many of the most relevant playlist editors around the world have proven them right numerous times over the years. The vocals bite, the riffs burst to mosh and the melodies open up to passionate, huge life questions. The tense thematic run between revolution, social injustice and inner struggles in the band’s lyrics offers a superbly dynamic pressure vent for piled up emotions of all sorts.

And the Swedes aren’t a slouch in the touring department either: Through their wide-ranging live history, LEACH have shared the stage with prominent bands, such as Unearth, Misery Index, Belphegor and Kampfar. Over the recent years, this caused the gathering of an enthusiastic following around the band, as they describe by example of a typical LEACH live experience: “Over the top energy – the crowd can feel that we give it all and give us energy back.” Touring preparations for 2024 have long begun and first Swedish shows as well as a few festival gigs have already been booked.

LEACH’s fourth album New Model Of Disbelief will be released digitally and as CD and LP on April 19, 2024. Christian Silver at Studiomega (Sepultura, Kreator, Soilwork), who already took great care of the band’s previous record Lovely Light of Life, acted as the driving force in terms of recording, mixing and mastering once again.

After the release of their very successful self-titled album Beyond The Black, which was released in January 2023 the band now release a deluxe edition of their album. The deluxe edition features three bonus tracks ‘I Remember Dying (Stranger Reprise)’, ‘Wide Awake (Piano Version)’ and ‘Raise Your Head (String Version)’. Today the band also release their brand new video for ‘Raise Your Head (String Version)’. Their highly-anticipated Dancing In The Dark tour starts in April 2024. All tourdates are listed below.

Jennifer Haben comments about the deluxe edition:
“How quickly time flies. It’s been a year since the release of our 5th studio album “BEYOND THE BLACK“. We are very pleased that we can now give our fans a special gift for its anniversary with the digital deluxe edition including 3 exceptional bonus tracks.”

Jennifer Haben states about ‘Raise Your Head (String Version)’:
“From the bottom of my heart, in my opinion this bonus “String Version” is one of – if not THE best bonus song we’ve ever released. „Raise Your Head” is a call to everyone who feels trapped in their lives and is looking for a way out. It’s a reminder that we are all capable of breaking free from societal expectations and forging our own path, if only we have the courage to look behind the illusions and “raise our heads“.”

MOTHER OF ALL Share First Single ‘Cosmic Darkness’ from Upcoming Album “Global Parasitic Leviathan”

Copenhagen progressive/melodeath act Mother of All returns with their second full-length, Global Parasitic Leviathan, scheduled for 05 April 2024 physically (CD & vinyl) and digitally. As the first excerpt from the album, Mother of All, now operating as a full lineup, is streaming the first track, “Cosmic Darkness,” which questions a new civic religion promising progress from our immoralities.

Martin Haumann, the architect behind the Danish group, states:
“‘Cosmic Darkness is the opening number of ‘Global Parasitic Leviathan.’ The new social contract descends from above. A new civic religion promises to turn our dark vices into an engine of progress. But at what cost?”

Find the track on your preferred digital/streaming media AT THIS LOCATION.

Pre-Orders of the album will be issued soon on Bandcamp alongside the reveal of the cover art and tracklisting of the album.

Formed in 2013, Mother of All is the brainchild of Martin Haumann, a sought-after hard-working musician in the Danish and international music scene, having performed with artists like Myrkur, Afsky, Timechild, and Mercenary. With a background in The Royal Danish Conservatory and extensive training in different musical disciplines, Martin draws on varied and unusual influences to create a unique vision for Mother of All, but his prime inspiration comes from the deep cauldron of metal. Continuing to explore the art form with Mother of All, Martin creates songs that are diverse and eclectic in nature by incorporating melodic and progressive elements into death metal.

Exploring existential themes in our current age, Mother of All’s debut album, Age of the Solipsist, is a collaborative effort bringing Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Death, Sadus) on bass and newcomer Frederik Jensen on guitars, with Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Triptykon, ex-Obscura, Hate Eternal, Necrophagist) taking care of the mixing, mastering and production duties and Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore, A7X, King Diamond) crafting the cover art. The album, released in 2021 via Black Lion Records, garnered attention and recognition from metal media all over the world.

The sophomore full-length, Global Parasitic Leviathan, marks Mother of All’s first recording with a full lineup, having recently recruited members from acts such as Lamentari, Chaoswave, and Withering Surface. The new lineup has yielded an enthralling sound and direction for the band, ultimately resulting in an album grander in scope both sonically and lyrically.

Mother of All once again unapologetically confronts challenging and contemporary issues on the new album, which thematically revolves around the pervasive turn to corporate and financial tyranny in the Western world. The diverse aspects covered in each song all tie back to this central theme, examining how individuals and nations are controlled and the ideological underpinnings labeled as a “religion” on the album, justifying such domination. The symbolic use of “the Leviathan,” a biblical sea monster that philosophers usually associate with a King or a sovereign ruler legitimated by God, takes on a new meaning on Global Parasitic Leviathan. The Leviathan, replacing the religions of old, now embodies what the band terms “the religion of self-interest.”
