Copenhagen progressive melodeath act Mother of All will release their second album, Global Parasitic Leviathan, on 12 April 2024 physically (CD & vinyl) and digitally. As the second preview from the record, the Danish band is streaming a new single, titled “Hypocrisy: Weaponized.”

According to Martin Haumann, the architect of Mother of All:
“‘Hypocrisy: Weaponized’ is about how the charge of hypocrisy is an effective guard against changes and thoughts within an all-encompassing system.”

Stream/Download the track on your preferred digital media AT THIS LOCATION. “Hypocrisy: Weaponized” Single Cover Art by Henrik Rangstrup.

The first single, “Cosmic Darkness,” arrived on digital/streaming media last month,  Find it HERE.

Pre-Order the album, Global Parasitic Leviathan, on Vinyl, CD, or digital on Bandcamp RIGHT HERE.

Formed in 2013, Mother of All is the brainchild of Martin Haumann, a sought-after hard-working musician in the Danish and international music scene, having performed with artists like Myrkur, Afsky, Timechild, and Mercenary. With a background in The Royal Danish Conservatory and extensive training in different musical disciplines, Martin draws on varied and unusual influences to create a unique vision for Mother of All, but his prime inspiration comes from the deep cauldron of metal. Continuing to explore the art form with Mother of All, Martin creates songs that are diverse and eclectic in nature by incorporating melodic and progressive elements into death metal.

Exploring existential themes in our current age, Mother of All’s debut album, Age of the Solipsist, is a collaborative effort bringing Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Death, Sadus) on bass and newcomer Frederik Jensen on guitars, with Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Triptykon, ex-Obscura, Hate Eternal, Necrophagist) taking care of the mixing, mastering and production duties and Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore, A7X, King Diamond) crafting the cover art. The album, released in 2021 via Black Lion Records, garnered attention and recognition from metal media all over the world.

The sophomore full-length, Global Parasitic Leviathan, marks Mother of All’s first recording with a full lineup, having recently recruited members from acts such as Lamentari, Chaoswave, and Withering Surface. The new lineup has yielded an enthralling sound and direction for the band, ultimately resulting in an album grander in scope both sonically and lyrically.

Mother of All once again unapologetically confronts challenging and contemporary issues on the new album, which thematically revolves around the pervasive turn to corporate and financial tyranny in the Western world. The diverse aspects covered in each song all tie back to this central theme, examining how individuals and nations are controlled and the ideological underpinnings labeled as a “religion” on the album, justifying such domination. The symbolic use of “the Leviathan,” a biblical sea monster that philosophers usually associate with a King or a sovereign ruler legitimated by God, takes on a new meaning on Global Parasitic Leviathan. The Leviathan, replacing the religions of old, now embodies what the band terms “the religion of self-interest.”

Swedish progressive metal veterans Loch Vostok have announced the upcoming release of their new album “Opus Ferox II – Mark of the Beast”, which will be coming out on April 19 on ViciSolum Productions. This highly anticipated album is the second part of the band’s ongoing ‘Opus Ferox trilogy’ and promises to deliver the same level of intricate modern progressive metal that fans have come to love.

“Opus Ferox II – Mark of the Beast” builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, “Opus Ferox – The Great Escape” (2021), with catchy chorus lines and dynamic songwriting that showcases Loch Vostok‘s signature style. The album is filled with a fantastic implementation of raw energy, presenting strong new songs that are sure to captivate listeners.

To give a taste of what’s to come, Loch Vostok have released the first single “Distant Assistance” along with a brand new music video. This track is a straightforward and uncompromising gem that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Watch the video here:

Stream the single HERE

Sweden’s Loch Vostok were born in the year 2000 out of necessity to create music that did not exist at the time. Refuses to stagnate. Unwilling to die. Combining raw beauty with complexity and finesse. Sometimes uncomfortable but never boring. Harsh and soaring multi layered vocals. Pounding, complex and punishing rhythms Shredalicious solos. Fat choruses and poisonous hooks. Spawned from the fractured mind of Teddy Möller, Loch Vostok is where anything goes. Where cheese meets grind. Where speed meets groove. The unholy child of Emperor and Tears for Fears, the bastard cousin of King Diamond and King’s X. Over the years Loch Vostok has delivered 8 albums, each time bringing something new to the table.

Among the members of Loch Vostok, you will find musicians from a great number of active (and countless inactive) bands. Ranging from Carnal Forge, One Hour Hell and F.K.Ü, to The Murder of My Sweet, and Anima Morte.

  1. Distant Assistance

ELECTRIC DEATHBEAT Release New Single ‘Extinct Indeed’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 10, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Electric Deathbeat. Leave a comment

The second single, Extinct Indeed, was the last song Juha composed for A Ghost Triangle. It kinda shows the way where Electric Deathbeat is heading musically. Aggressive and versatile metal, Finnish melancholy in its purest form. The story behind the song is based on a dream, where you suddenly woke up at your very own funeral. The person sees the surrounding world from inside his own open tomb but no-one can’t hear nor see him. So nightmare it is rather than just a dream. Juha felt from the beginning that Extinct Indeed will be the last song in the album due its feeling of farewell.

Available now at: Apple Music | Spotify | & other major stores

A Ghost Triangle | Released February 20th, 2024 via Sliptrick Records

Electric Deathbeat are:
Juha Väyrynen – Vocals/Guitars/Synths | Antti Väyrynen – Bass | Joni Alatalo – Guitars | Oskari Haapalainen – Drums | Jaakko Koskiniemi – Guitars (live)

DUST MICE Present ‘Ultrawave’ Lyric Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 10, 2024

With “Ultrawave”, Dust Mice take us on a journey into the vastness of space and the unknown. The single is taken from the band’s new album “Room Within A Room”, out via Epictronic worldwide.

Room Within A Room finds Dust Mice at the crossroads between the vacuum of space and the eternal fire of the soul. The album has a more focused sound, with the same space-rock and garage roots, but there is a darker edge, a looming sense of dread in the spaced-out jams.

PAINFUL Release New Video Single ‘Liberty (Dies)’, Announce 20th Anniversary Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 10, 2024
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: PAINFUL. Leave a comment

Good things take time – more so if you want to create something timeless. This undoubtedly applies to German black/death metallers PAINFUL. After an extended period of tinkering, the band, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, have announced the release date of their upcoming album Nefarious Monarchy – May 25th. The somber foursome have now come up with something special for their fans: On February 9 (Osnabrück, Bastard Club) and February 10 (Oberhausen, Helvete), the entire album will be performed live by the band for the first time as part of two “sneak prelistening” shows, revealing the complete tracklist on stage. A Nefarious Monarchy shirt, limited to 300 pieces, will also be available at the shows.

Anyone who is curious can now get an impression of what the ever evolving PAINFUL – including their new singer Latura – will stand for in 2024 with the brand new video single Liberty (Dies):

The song is the fastest track on Nefarious Monarchy, drawing heavily from the band’s black metal roots, both musically and in terms of its lyrical content. Embedded in the dark – and also human – abysses of the French Revolution, Liberty (Dies) is the direct follow-up to the opener of the concept album and describes the crippling omnipotence of the church, of which Voltaire and other contemporaries tried to warn the royally ruled people in various ways. With the fury of a shackled animal, the song contributes to the backdrop that would later implode in blood and fire, giving way to a new age of enlightenment and grassroots power.

The band thus resolutely pursues its path, completely dispensing with (anti-)religiosity and fantasies, searching for the horrifying in the history of mankind and dragging it into the light under an incantatory mosh: from the Black Plague (Imagines Pestis) to the decade-long cultural firestorm at the end of the 18th century, to which we owe our liberal democracy.

PAINFUL’s new album Nefarious Monarchy will be available everywhere from May 25th and is now up for pre-order here: https://linktr.ee/painfulmetalofficial. An official album release party and live show will also take place on that date. Don’t forget to grab PAINFUL’s new single Liberty (Dies) here and throw it on your playlist(s)!

Ever since its formation in 2004 as a grimy-brutal bastard of black and death metal, the band has stood for raw, bloody pain, true to its own name. However, they soon began to turn the melancholy of the abyss into something entirely of their own, leading to the creation of powerful symphonies, which have earned PAINFUL a steadily growing fan base at countless gigs – including performances with acts such as Belphegor, Behemoth, Atrocity and Amon Amarth, as well as many of their own headlining shows.

Three albums later, and with their fourth already in the oven, they have successfully crossed iconic festivals such as MetalDays, Metalfest and even the 70000TONS OF METAL Cruise off their checklist. So it’s no surprise that genre legend Alexander Krull took notice and produced a PAINFUL album for the second time in a row.
