VNTER Announce “Unfolding” EP & First Single ‘Holy Freedom’

Swedish arena rockers VNTER, feat. ex-members of White Limo, have announced the release of their new EP ‘Unfolding‘ on March 22th, 2024. The first single and video for the song ‘Holy Freedom‘ will be out on February 9th, 2024.

‘Unfolding‘ was recorded in Studio Soundport in Ulricehamn, Sweden by Micke Andersson – who also produced, mixed and mastered the album. You can also hear him sing backup vocals and playing synth on ”Forever never ends” and piano on ”Pieces of me”.

VNTER was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in November 2017 by singer and guitar player Andy. Since then they have done a lot of interviews, radio and live shows both in Sweden and outside of Sweden. With their explosive, high energy rock made for both big and small stages the now aim to get a bigger audience.

The band is also an extension and continuation of the previous band White Limo that had a few successful years and was put to its final rest in 2016. Andy took the best songs that were written and released with White Limo, gave them a make over and re-recorded them as VNTER which became the first album ”When it all comes down”. Previous to that they released two singles ”Make it up” and ”Queen”.

They have now just finished a brand new 5 song EP that is more commercial than they ever done. The band challenged themselves and a unique, brave, huge sound came out of it. You probably have heard it before, but then again you probably haven’t. Recorded, produced, mixed & mastered in Studio Soundport in Ulricehamn by Micke Andersson who have a hand in the bands two previous albums.

The last album ”Overcoming” was written and recorded with only one member in the band (Andy) and was determined that VNTER was now a project where invited friends could come and join the recording sessions and live sessions. However Andy decided that it´s way more fun to have band members and begun the search in the early 2023.

And after two years hiatus from where the band was on hold and all the existing members left in one way or another they are back with new music, three new members Oliver Gonzales on bass, Alexander Weding on drums and Rickard Borg on lead guitar, new energy and more determination to play huge shows.

The mission from day one is to deliver in every aspect, both live on stage and on tape.

Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Muse and Queens of the stone age. These are the influences that helped form the shape and idea of the band and the will to play worldwide. That and a constant drive to be better, do more and write really good music.

LIONHEART Release New Single And Video ‘V Is For Victory’

LIONHEART release “V Is For Victory”, the second single taken from the  new studio album “The Grace Of A Dragonfly”  (street date February 23rd 2024 via Metalville Records)

Contrary to its title, “V Is For Victory” is actually an up-tempo lament for the terrible loss and grief suffered by countless innocent civilians on all sides during a war. But it’s soaring, powerful choruses counter this with hope for the future with a call for all peoples to come together and find a way to create a peaceful world.

As soon as the previous album “The Reality Of Miracles” hit the shelves in 2020 Lionheart knuckled down to record the next one. deciding early on that this time they would produce a concept album. The record centres around WW2, but the band very much wanted to make this an anti-war album, while at the same time remembering those who fought for our freedom.

The songs on the album are sensational, with Lee Small’s emotional lyrics reflecting not only the pain and grief inflicted by war on ordinary, innocent people in every conflict zone, but also their strength, resilience and determination. Supported by Lionheart’s superb songwriting, soaring backing vocals, beautiful twin guitar harmonies, and atmospheric keyboards, Lionheart’s sheer power shines brightly from every one of the eleven songs, culminating in a heartfelt prayer for peace in the world.

Each new Lionheart album has brought with it a leap in the quality of the songwriting and production and this album is no exception. “The Grace Of A Dragonfly” is nothing short of epic and is by far Lionheart’s finest work to date.

DRUNKEN SWALLOWS release “Im Namen Des Wahnsinns”, the first pre-release single and also title track of the upcoming studio album which will be released on 19 April on Metalville Records. 

“Im Namen Des Wahnsinns” is the band’s look back at almost 15 years of punk rock. The guys realise that they are and have been involved in so many things. But always because everything they do is done in the name of madness. And the DRUNKEN SWALLOWS still have things in the pipeline that make every punk rock heart beat faster.

Drunken Swallows are back on the road with their sixth output “Im Namen des Wahnsinns”, which marks the band’s 15th anniversary.

The four punk rockers present themselves with their now typical sound. Catchy guitar riffs, sing-along songs and lyrically a cross-section of life with all its facets. 

The development of the Swallows especially after the change of bass player, is enormous. The band themselves announced their aim to return a little to their bloody beginnings. And they have succeeded very well. The mix of modern melodies and the dirt of the garage suits the four northern lights perfectly and is absolutely authentic. Many choruses that burn themselves into the listener’s head on the first listen, crisp riffs and everyone can find themselves thematically on this album. But there are also gentle, serious, calm melodies in the form of ballads on the new album. Swallow’s atypical instruments have been used here, and this is more than worth listening to. 

Goosebumps, a thirst for beer, fun and the necessary seriousness in times when it was certainly not always easy to write a punk rock album. The Schwalben did it 100% like this. As they once said themselves: weird times need weird birds. True, when you hear how life plays out in the name of madness. 

A punk rock album that really must have its place on every shelf! And because Drunken Swallows are definitely a live band, the upcoming concerts will be more than worth a visit.

ANGMODNES is a doom metal band formed in 2013 in Utrecht (The Netherlands).

The band was formed by the collaboration of Y.S. (Wilds Forlorn, Apotelesma), M.V. (Apotelesma, Koudvuur) and F.S. Tragic, anguished and desperate sounding, ANGMODNES came into being as the despondent offshoot of another band, Apotelesma.

After the well received debut “The Weight Of Eternity”, released in 2022, which featured mostly material written nine years earlier, Y.S. And M.V. found themselves rediscovering a love for all things slow and unexpectedly tapped into a wellspring of inspiration.

Following in the wake of “The Weight Of Eternity”, “Rot Of The Soul” builds upon the style and atmosphere present on the debut while at times venturing beyond the typical territories of doom metal.

Spanning over 55 minutes, it takes the listener on a journey through the mind of someone suffering from severe depression, haunted by existential dread and sinking ever deeper into a mire of negation and worldly rejection.

F.S., whose ethereal, haunting vocals could already be heard on “The Weight of Eternity”, lent her voice once more for the new album. With her vocals being such an integral part of the sound of ANGMODNES, it was time to fully bring F.S. into the fold as a band member.

VIOLET ETERNAL Debut Track ‘The Echoes of Time’ from Upcoming Album “Reload The Violet”

VIOLET ETERNAL was born out of the desire of two musicians from Italy and Japan to work with each other in creating a new melodic metal band, blending power, and oriental choruses with fast-paced rhythms and interpersonal lyrics, with the ambiance of shredding guitar solos.

Band co-founder and guitarist Jien Takahashi comments:

“I wanted to create the ultimate melodic power metal duo after MAJUSTICE and other activities, I was hungry for new music. There were a lot of songs at the end of the previous activity, so I was looking for a way to shape it. In such a situation, I met Ivan Giannini online. I originally knew Ivan from his legendary work with VISION DIVINE and the album “Angel of Revenge” and his other band Derdian. I was completely fascinated by his emotional voice that seemed to burn the skies. So I was wishing I could do something with him. When I got in touch with Ivan, we immediately hit it off and we decided to make an album together.”

After connecting with vocalist Ivan Giannini, Jien made a call to a mutual friend Ollie Bernstein (Illusion Force, Magic Opera) who he had a feeling would be interested in joining the duo in creating an album together plus he was also playing bass in Derdian, which Ivan was a member of too.

Not too soon after, more pieces to the project came together when the trio recruited Andrea Cappellari (Nekomata and former guitarist for Skeletoon).

With all the members collected, and music being written, the band was ready to hit the studio and decided to team up with producer Dennis Ward (Angra, Helloween) for their first full-length album “Reload The Violet”, which will be released on Rockshots Records this coming May 2024. The album also features guests Takao (MinstreliX), Gabriel Guardian (IMMORTAL GUARDIAN), keyboardist YUHKI, drummer Ryuya Inoue, and Timo Tolkki (ex-STRATOVARIUS).

“From the time of production, Ivan and I were convinced that this album would be a game changer. I think it’s a work that people who love melodic metal will enjoy. If you listen to the music of VIOLET ETERNAL when you feel down, you will surely feel cheerful with hot feeling. Our music will give you the courage. This album strikes hard with both powerful vocals and a perfect mix of oriental melodic metal and emotional vocals.” says Jien Takahashi.

To introduce Violet Eternal to the world, today the band unveils their debut track “The Echoes of Time”, a grand opus-style power metal anthem.

“If you’re familiar with my other band MAJUSTICE and the album title track ‘Ancestral Recall’, ‘The Echoes of Time’ is a continuation of that song. It’s a story about reuniting with someone broke up with in the past, but making mistakes again and again.” adds Jien Takahashi.
