Johannesburg’s industrialised thrash metal force, Chaos Doctrine, is gearing up for an extraordinary year, unveiling a captivating array of plans sure to resonate with fans and enthusiasts of industrial and metal genres. Get ready for an exhilarating ride as Chaos Doctrine prepares for a slew of releases leading up to the release of their third studio album, ‘Bellum’ on Friday 26 April, followed by an explosive official launch show on Saturday 27 April at Studio 69.

‘Bellum’ is a 9-track auditory masterpiece, poised to leave an indelible mark in the band’s illustrious discography, succeeding their self-titled debut (2018), ‘The Chaos Chronicles Volume I’ EP (2019), and their impactful sophomore album ‘And in the Beginning … They Lied’ (2021).

Pre-save the album at https://hypeddit.com/bellum

The excitement kicks off today as Chaos Doctrine initiates a thrilling journey towards the album release by re-launching the first of three fan-favourite singles ‘Lifting the Veil’ today. This will be followed by the re-release of ‘Martyr’ (Clement V mix) on 9 February, and ‘One of My Bad Days’ on 29 March, all of which will be featured on the track listing for ‘Bellum’.

Notably, Metal Hammer recognised two of these tracks, honouring ‘Martyr’ in 2022 and ‘One of My Bad Days’ in 2023 with an illustrious spot in their respective best songs of the year lists.

This unveiling will be accompanied by exclusive limited-edition merchandise, courtesy of their collaboration with FreakFlag. The climax of this prelude comes on 29 March with the premiere of a captivating music video for ‘One of My Bad Days,’ crafted by the brilliant Pierre Smith, renowned for his work on ‘Father Grigori.’

Moreover, Chaos Doctrine showcases their versatility with two ambitious cover projects, set to be unveiled on 23 February and 12 April, adding an extra layer of anticipation for their dedicated following. As if that’s not enough, a brand-new single, ‘Heretic,’ is slated for release on 19 April, just days before the album’s grand debut on 26 April.

Vocalist Dr D emphasises the significance of revisiting the past by stating, “Our fanbase has grown tremendously since our early singles from ‘Bellum.’ We want to share the journey with our fans, both new and old, and relive the excitement that accompanied each single release.”

Guitarist, engineer, and producer Alec shed light on ‘Lifting the Veil,’ the first of the re-releases, stating, “This single promised to be a 200bpm thrasher, and it was – reminding everyone that Chaos Doctrine is first and foremost about metal.”

‘Lifting the Veil,’ the inaugural single of this prelude, is a relentless 200bpm thrasher that marries Chaos Doctrine’s signature dark industrial edge with thunderous guitar riffs. Vocalist Dr D and guitarist Phil, the creative minds behind the track, conceived its core at the end of 2021. The song, despite being the last written for the upcoming album, earned the prestigious spot as the first single due to its heavy, fast, and unapologetically metal essence.

Buckle up and explore the Chaos Doctrine website at https://www.devographic.com/chaos-doctrine for comprehensive information. Also, follow the band on socials and access their LinkTree at https://linktr.ee/chaosdoctrine to stream their music, featuring tracks such as ‘Lifting the Veil’. Furthermore, you can pre-save the forthcoming Chaos Doctrine single ‘Heretic’, HERE, (scheduled for release on April 19) and their upcoming album ‘Bellum’ (slated for release on April 216).

About Chaos Doctrine

Chaos Doctrine brings a unique and modern metal assault by blending old school thrash and death with aggressive industrial metal. Originally formed in 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa by vocalist Dr D (Bedlam, Malachi, DedX), the band line up is completed by veteran guitarist and band producer Alec Surridge (Sacraphyx, The Warinsane), bass guitarist, backing vocalist and band visual artist Phil Carstens (DedX), and explosive drummer Jason Eedes (Jasper Dan, Azraella’s Sorrow, Beyond the Pale & The Sinners).

For its members, Chaos Doctrine is more than a band: it is a comprehensive sensory experience and a brand. Everything the band produces conveys this – the band name itself, their aggressive sonic releases, explosive live shows, dystopic visual products, and stabbing lyrical content. Chaos Doctrine explores the shadow of the human condition, hatred, brutality, decay. Their approach is unrelenting, fueled by rage and void of apology. This is aggression, this is Chaos Doctrine!

VLAD IN TEARS release the new single “Broken Bones”. The song is the second pre-release single from the upcoming studio album “Relapse”, which will be released on 8 March 2024 on Metalville Records.

“Broken Bones” song tells the story of a broken love, the kind of love that leaves a bittersweet scar that we can’t get rid of, or maybe don’t want to get rid of.

After the release of “Porpora” in 2022 VLAD IN TEARS have gotten closer to most of their fans and they have been writing to the band about their feelings, their personal battles and struggles like never before.

This album is dedicated to all of those who are still fighting, those who have not won yet, and those who want to be listened to. It is a collection of stories from people all around the world who want their voices and stories to be heard and told.

It took the musicians almost one year to make it. During last summer, Kris and his two brothers Alessio and Dario, have spent 10 days in a row
at Kris’ personal recording studio. “We haven’t done something like it in a long time, we have created and felt the true magic that our bond as brothers can be released
when we are together, completely dedicated to our music.” Kris Vlad comments.

After the recording the band had the pleasure to work with Alessandro from “Escape Room Records” who made a huge and amazing sound for them.

“Relapse” is the 9th VLAD IN TEARS Album , and it is the rockiest one, which, as weird as it might sound, but it does not contain any synth instrument. They have made one only full electro song though.

The band also have recorded 9 of the 11 new songs as acoustic version, which will be available exclusively as part of the limited Fan-Box.

VALHALLA AWAITS Announce New EP “Perdition” + Premiere Music Video for ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’

Welsh heavyweight rock group VALHALLA AWAITS have announced their new EP, ‘Perdition’, and premiered a music video for the emotionally charged track ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’

Valhalla Awaits new addition to their cannon is a dark, moody and ethereal track that tackles the battles of mental health and how it affects so many of us, leaving the vulnerable close to the edge. Musically and lyrically, the song is emotive and relatable. It’s a cry to the universe, to be pulled out of the prisons we create for ourselves in our mind. The constant pressure of having to deal with your own thoughts and feelings when you feel the world is full of darkness, and the difficulties that come with having to wear a mask in public, to give the impression that the life you lead has everything going the way you want it to.

‘Is There Anybody Out There?’ underpins Valhalla Awaits forthcoming EP, ‘Perdition’, as a powerful sonic landscape, blending hard-hitting riffs with resonant vocals and thoughtful storytelling.

In the context of South Wales’ thriving rock scene, Valhalla Awaits has emerged as a formidable force, drawing from the collective experiences of seasoned musicians who have contributed to notable acts The Blackout and Revoker. The result is a finely tuned, precision-drilled riff rock machine, where razor sharp guitar chops are complemented by the honey-glazed vocals of Andrew Hunt, known for his work with Buffalo Summer and Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons.

Valhalla Awaits doesn’t just hit hard; their sound is characterised by finely balanced melodies that serves as a counterweight to the rock-solid foundations on which it’s built. The South Welsh rockers have been making great strides on the live circuit having played Planet Rock’s Winter’s End and Rockstock Festivals, Steelhouse Live, and during support slots with Florence Black, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Those Damn Crows, and more.

With ‘Perdition’, the band have delivered their most cohesive and potent body of work to date, and in a musical landscape marked by resilience and hope, Valhalla Awaits invites listeners to join the battle for glory.

Perdition will be released on the 8th of March 2024.

March 8, 2024 sees ALTERIUM, the new Italian power metal quintet led by Nicoletta Rosellini (ex. Kalidia, Walk in Darkness), release their much-awaited, first full-length studio album entitled “Of War And Flames” via AFM Records. The pre-sale is available at: https://alterium.bfan.link/of-war-and-flames

Following previously-released songs, “Siren’s Call”, “Drag Me To Hell”, an epic cover version of Sabaton‘s “Bismarck” or just recently, their powerful title track “Of War And Flames”, today, ALTERIUM are premiering a music video for their latest single “Crossroads Inn”, a metal tribute inspired by the popular medieval tavern simulator video game!

In cooperation with video game creator Klabater, the following statement has been released:

“Welcome to Delcrys, adventurers!

The doors of the fantasy tavern are now open! To celebrate the arrival of the second chapter of the iconic video game ‘Crossroads Inn,’ Alterium wrote and recorded a track inspired by the lore of the game.

Crossroads Inn is a real-time management sim set in the immersive fantasy world of Delcrys. Players must build, manage, and expand their tavern, catering to the needs of adventurers from far and wide! The game is available on Steam, while “Crossroads Inn 2” has been announced and is currently in development – you can already add it to your wishlist!”

Singer and songwriter Nicoletta Rosellini comments: “I’m a huge fan of management video games, and I’ve spent hundreds of hours playing ‘Crossroads Inn,’ which also features great lore that inspired me to write lyrics for this track. I believe that power metal is the perfect genre to convey the funny atmosphere of a typical night at the tavern. We also recreated the whole scenery in our new music video!”

The song is now available on all digital services at https://alterium.bfan.link/crossroads-inn, the video clip is streaming here:

Born in late 2022, ALTERIUM consists of vocalist Nicoletta and former bandmates Paolo Campitelli (guitars) and Dario Gozzi (drums) from Kalidia, soon joined by Alessandro Mammola (guitars, also in Draconicon) and Luca Scalabrin (bass, also in Altair).

After Kalidia parted ways, Nicoletta decided to take a different approach and finally unleashes her whole potential as both a singer and a songwriter. Produced by Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call), and featuring 9 original classy power metal tracks including the cover of “Bismarck”, “Of War and Flames” turns out to be a triumph of catchy choruses, terrific vocal lines, powerful sounds, strong guitar riffs, explosive drums, majestic choirs and captivating grooves, all skillfully mastered by Achim Koehler.
