DORO has prepared a special New Year´s gift for her fans and is excited to announce the digital release of the cover of METALLICA’s classic ´The Four Horsemen´!
This track will also be included on the forthcoming digital EP Conqueress – Extended, due to be released on March 1st.
Doro’s cover of ´The Four Horsemen´ was included on the physical products of her latest studio album Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud. 

DORO comments: “Metallica’s debut album Kill ‘Em All has just celebrated its 40th anniversary. I can still remember the first shows we played together in Europe in the mid-eighties. The Metallica guys (back then with Cliff Burton) were just great and we quickly became friends. There was a very special spirit of optimism in the metal scene that I like to remember. That’s why I re-recorded ‘The Four Horsemen’, one of the early Metallica classics. I still love the song.”

ALESSANDRO DE FUSCO Releases ‘Scorrere’ Video

“Scorrere” is the third and final track on ALESSANDRO DE FUSCO‘s new album “Nel Silenzio.” Each track on the album deals with moments that are repeated whenever the artist finds himself immersed in nature in the mountains. “Scorrere” represents the time he spends in the eddies of streams and rivers during his hikes. It is the time he devotes to himself, letting it flow unhurriedly, remembering those moments every day and breathing that mountain air ever closer to his music.

Alessandro De Fusco is a guitarist and composer from Campania, currently a guitar teacher at the “Lizard Accademie Musicali di Roma.” He studied classical guitar at the “Nicola Sala di Benevento” conservatory. Parallel to the classical path he also deepened the study of electric guitar at the Lizard Academy in Rome. Alexander Layer Project: In 2018 he composed his first solo album “Fenrir,” The concept behind this work is to use the lead guitar as the “narrative voice” of the songs, each of which is inspired by a myth from Norse mythology. In 2019 he began collaborating with the label Elevate Records, with which he released the second album “Huginn Muninn” in which Marco Sfogli (James Labrie, PFM and Icefisch) and David Folchitto (ex.Fleshgod Apocalypse) are featured as Special Guest. In 2020 he composes the single “Ymir” after joining as an artist with the “Solar Guitars” brand. In 2021 he releases “Complete Guitar Transcriptions. An anthology of transcriptions that stems from the idea of collecting all his works from the past years. In 2021 he composes the third album “Sounds From The Labs.” A collection of demos and small tracks of a few minutes, composed in his studio, during the Lockdown period. Since 2021 he has been collaborating as an Artist with “Chicken Picks – Guitar Picks.” Alessandro De Fusco: From 2022 to 2023 he decided to take a break to revolutionize his music and search for a new self.

In 2023 he split his stage name “Alexander Layer” (making it a progressive metal project), separating it from his real name, under which he formalized his first EP Album of classical music: “Nel Silenzio.” Following the release of the first album, he had the opportunity to bring his music live by performing at various events throughout the country. JUST HEROES have released a new video ‘Heroes’ taken from their homonymous EP.

With influences from classic Heavy Metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Metallica, Just Heroes brings in their compositions lyrics that tackle themes of struggle, perseverance, and overcoming. Their music combines elements of traditional Heavy Metal with a more modern touch, creating a unique and captivating sound.  

The band’s lineup consists of experienced and talented musicians, each bringing their own influence and style to the compositions. Flavio Souza is responsible for the powerful guitar riffs that guarantee a heavy and distinctive sound. Mr. Machine takes charge of the vocals, bringing his powerful and captivating voice to the songs. Marcus Castellani (Manowar former) takes on the drums, adding rhythm and intensity to the tracks. Fabio Cavalcante Gomes is responsible for the bass, providing a solid and powerful foundation and Renato Mattar completes the lineup with his guitar-playing skills.

DRUNKEN SWALLOWS to Release Studio Album “Im Namen Des Wahnsinns” on April 19th

DRUNKEN SWALLOWS are back on the road with their sixth output “Im Namen des Wahnsinns”, which marks the band’s 15th anniversary.

The four punk rockers present themselves with their now typical sound. Catchy guitar riffs, sing-along songs and lyrically a cross-section of life with all its facets. 

The development of the Swallows especially after the change of bass player, is enormous. The band themselves announced their aim to return a little to their bloody beginnings. And they have succeeded very well. The mix of modern melodies and the dirt of the garage suits the four northern lights perfectly and is absolutely authentic. Many choruses that burn themselves into the listener’s head on the first listen, crisp riffs and everyone can find themselves thematically on this album. But there are also gentle, serious, calm melodies in the form of ballads on the new album. Swallow’s atypical instruments have been used here, and this is more than worth listening to. 

Goosebumps, a thirst for beer, fun and the necessary seriousness in times when it was certainly not always easy to write a punk rock album. The Schwalben did it 100% like this. As they once said themselves: weird times need weird birds. True, when you hear how life plays out in the name of madness. 

A punk rock album that really must have its place on every shelf! And because Drunken Swallows are definitely a live band, the upcoming concerts will be more than worth a visit.

THE QUILL will release their new studio album “Wheel Of Illusion” on March 29th on Metalville Records.

The iconic Swedish hard rock band, THE QUILL unveils their musical prowess in their highly anticipated 11th album, “Wheel of Illusion.” With a storied history dating back to the early ’90s, The Quill has consistently pushed boundaries, blending powerful riffs and soulful melodies.

Roger – „Making new music is always hard work – but by now we all know what we need to make a great album. The writing-process is really where we gel as a band. We’ve always loved banging out ideas together in rehearsals – it’s always been a team effort with everyone pitching in trying to make every song the best possible.“

Jolle – „We were extremely well rehearsed before entering the studio – which is not always the case. For Earthrise we started with sketches in the studio, this time it was the opposite – we worked really hard arranging the songs in rehearsals so once we entered the studio the process was quick and to the point.“

As the band continues to carve their niche in the international rock scene, this album reaffirms their status as pioneers of the Swedish hard rock movement. “Wheel of Illusion” is not just an album; it’s a testament to The Quill’s unwavering passion for creating music that transcends time and resonates with fans worldwide.

Unique Musical Collaboration: TUOMAS ROUNAKARI and YASUHARU TAKANASHI in ‘Epic East Meets Northern Beasts’ Concert

Finnish violinist and composer TUOMAS ROUNAKARI is set to join forces with YASUHARU TAKANASHI, a respected Japanese composer known for his anime and video game soundtracks, in an upcoming concert. This special event is scheduled for January 26th at Sibeliustalo, in Lahti, Finland.

Rounakari, celebrated for his contributions to Finnish metal and ethnomusicology, looks forward to the collaboration: “It’s an honor to share the stage with Yasuharu Takanashi. His admiration for Finnish metal and his significant work in anime make for an interesting blend of styles. The concert, which sold out quickly, will be a unique experience for the audience.”

Yasuharu Takanashi, whose credits include famous anime like Naruto Shippuden and Fairy Tail, comments on his preparation: “I’m excited about performing in Finland and have begun my practice routine. It’s a great opportunity to play alongside talented Finnish musicians.”

TUOMAS ROUNAKARI is an internationally acclaimed violinist, composer and ethnomusicologist from Finland. He is a one-man-band blending violin, vocals and stomping with ankle-bells. In his performance he enters various trance-states. In this album he will also be playing a traditional Khanty instrument called Ning-juh.

Tuomas is inspired by different forms of dialogue; man and nature, the seen and the unseen world, ancient and future. His first solo album Shamanviolin was a result of ethnomusicological studies of the earliest 20th century wax-cylinder recordings from Siberia. These studies have also led to many collaborations with indigenous artists. He is one of the few artists who have actually returned their art to native communities for evaluation and development.

Tuomas Rounakari solo performance has been selected to: World Cultures Festival in Hong Kong (2019), Arctic Arts Summit (2019), Nordiskt Ljus Festival in Sweden (2022), Festspillene Helgeland in Norway (2021), Nuuk Nordik Festival in Greenland, Kaustinen Folk Music Festival in Finland (2018, 2013, 2012), Helsingin Juhlaviikot and many others. He has also played the solo performance in several theaters such as Finnish National Theater in Helsinki, Merlin Szinhas Teater in Budapest, AlfredVeDvore in Prague, Ashurst Hall in Flagstaff USA among others.
